Beginner Trainer Battle: Tyranidos vs. Inferno
Another day, another battle. Today we have a battle upon the picturesque Stardust Fields of the Cloud Garden region. As these fields cover the landscape like a humongous duvet, they seem to glitter slightly in the midday sun. Two trainers have arrived with the intention of using the beautiful location as the setting for a battle. As they eye each other up, pokémon from the skies and far fields turn their attentions, intrigued by what is going on...
Tyranidos vs. Inferno 1 vs. 1 Single Battle Beginner Tier-Only Pokémon from Lv.1 to Lv.25 may be used. Arena: Cloud Garden's Stardust Fields ~ Gently rolling fields spanning as far as the eye can see. This battlefield is a 50m x 50m section of the large grassy plain with one lone Cherry Blossom tree standing in the centre. And now, I produce my Magikarp coin to decide who is attacking when! (Tyranidos is heads, Inferno is tails) ...and it's heads, Tyranidos will be first for this match! Though I'm almost positive that I wont have to remind you, here are the rules, just to be sure and what not, we want everything to run as smooth as physically possible. Now, the order will go as follows; - Both trainers will PM their Pokemon's stats, healing items, and first round moves to me. - I will ref the first round accordingly. - Tyranidos will then order her attacks for the next round. - Inferno will then go on to order their attacks for the round also. - I will ref and then the order will alternate. - Rinse, repeat! That's about it, I guess. Though it's not completely needed, adding a little roleplaying is obviously more fun than simply ordering your attacks. Good luck to both of you and away we go! :} |

Beginning the next attack, Houndoom looks to the skies before emitting a bizarre beam from her mouth, causing any and all clouds above the arena to clear, making it a very sunny day. Squinting slightly, Mario dives forward at the Houndoom and his eyes begin to glow a dark purple colour before releasing a bolt-like night shade attack, doing a little damage to the opponent. As both pokémon await their next orders, Houndoom suffers a damage from her curse. After this round, both pokémon still have plenty of energy. However, Mario's curse not only cut his own hitpoints by half but it will also continue to plague the Houndoom each turn. Night shade dealt some slight damage to Houndoom, but nothing significant and the sunny conditions are still and will remain for the entirety of the match, unless canceled out. Tyranidos to order first, followed by Inferno |

As Tyrant releases his Shuppet, Inferno on the other side releases his Houndoom. "Damn it, we're already at a disadvantage." Tyrant said under his breath. He watches the round anyways, as Mario drops the lead in health with the Curse, while it gets significantly hotter as the Houndoom uses Sunny Day. After that, Mario fires the Night Shade, not really dealing good damage.
"Hmm, alright Mario, Screech to throw it off, then Knock Off!" Tyrant said. "Hopefully the Screech will distract it enough." he thought afterwards. Just wondering, are you using the ASB attack descriptions? Because if so, then Mario's health shouldn't necessarily be at half, just a good bit lower than perfect. |

Inferno watches the first round, a bit worried about the curse but tries not to let it bother him too much. Houndoom is strong and she has some good moves so he needs to think carefully and not tire her out too soon. If he can even the odds a bit that will help too. Burning sounds good so he'll try that. He hears Tyrant's orders but isn't concerned about Houndoom losing her item. He's more worried about the screech.

[I am using the PASBL attack descriptions, yes: If the spell is successful, the ghost loses half of their remaining health in order for the opponent to lose half of the sacrificed health each round]
With the next round beginning, Mario opens his mouth wide before beginning a high-pitched screech, however, with good timing, the Houndoom begins to roar at the right moment. Due to this, both attacks fail, leaving the pokémon to begin their damaging attacks. Swooping forwards, Mario lowers his head, knocking into the Houndoom head on, causing her to drop her shadow lance, losing its boost for the remainder of the battle. Clearly not pleased with this, the Houndoom blows a hot air from its mouth, tiny bright embers floating through the air and landing on the Shuppet, causing a searing pain and a burn. As the attacks finish, the Houndoom becomes riddled with pain, her curse dealing quite a bit of damage to her. After this round, Mario and Houndoom are almost even, hitpoints wise. Both pokémon have plenty of energy left. Houndoom has lost the ability to gain the boost from her held item, since Mario knocked it off of her. Mario is now burned and Houndoom is still suffering from the curse placed upon her. Inferno to order first, followed by Tyranidos. - Sorry about that, I didn't realize i'd mixed the names up x__x Last edited by Pearl's Perap; 02-18-2009 at 06:35 PM. |

Inferno watches Houndoom and Shuppet perform their next attacks. This round didn't go great for them, but it didn't go badly either. He wanted to burn Shuppet and he did, now he has to make sure Houndoom can do more damage before she makes her big move. Her higher level will help her last a bit longer against the curse, but they still have to be careful.

Tyrant was somewhat pleased with the past round, Mario got rid of the Shadow Lance, but he did get burned. "Hmm, looks like we have quite a bit of ground to cover." Tyrant said, thinking for a moment. "Alright, Screech to throw him off once more, then try your best to dodge the attacks if they come your way. Then make it feel drained by spiting him."

[Sorry for the lateness of this. And apologies for not reffing precisely how I should have been, beginners mistake. From now on, I wont be treating this as both pokémon being equilevel :x]
As the next round of orders are issued from the trainers, the pokémon leap into action. Houndoom starts off the battle by spewing several large lumps of sludge in the direction of Mario, several of them buffeting the little Shuppet and causing it quite a bit of damage. Retaliating to this, the ghost pokémon turns around to the opponent Houndoom and screeches loudly, the canine pokémon growls due to the highpitched noise in her ears. Regaining herself as quick as she physically could, the Houndoom threw back her head, flames lapping at the edges of her mouth before she fired a spout of fire in the direction of Mario. Seeing this and knowing it would be the end of the battle for sure, the Shuppet dodges as best he can, only being dealt a fraction of the full damage, which still causes the ghost pokémon quite severe pain. Floating towards Houndoom, Mario glows and gives a spiteful look, causing his opponent's energy levels drop significantly more than they should from the previous attack. Once all the attacks have been issued, the curse attack flows through Houndoom once more, dealing a little damage. After this round, Mario the Shuppet is getting rather low on hitpoints, whereas Houndoom is still quite raring to go. Both pokémon have used up significant amounts of energy, Houndoom even moreso due to Mario's spite attack. Though they are both still capable of battling, this match does not look like it will last too much longer... Tyranidos to order first, followed by Inferno. Tyrant knew that this battle would not last much longer, so he decided to make up for the limited time he had. "Alright Mario, we may be behind, but let's give this Houndoom a run for his money. Quickly Night Shade into a Knock Off. Let's hope the Curse will take care of the rest." He said. Tyrant was aware that we would probably lose, but that didn't stop him.

Inferno knew the spite would hurt Houndoom but he also knows her level advantage will help her. He's confident the rest of the battle will work out the way he planned but he hopes he hasn't overlooked anything.

With the end of the match becoming apparently closer with each round of attacks, both trainers attempt to end it themselves. Knowing he had to attack fast, Mario followed his first order. As his attack began, bizarre purple rays began to emanate from his eyes, meeting Houndoom's eyes and causing her a good bit of damage, despite the level differences. Retaliating to this, the dark pokémon forms a ball of shadowy energy within her jaws before firing it in the direction of the ghost, hitting it hard.
Despite this attack, the Shuppet is hanging on but only just and, pulling himself together as best he can, swoops at the sinister dog pokémon, knocking into her as hard as he can for a slight bit of damage. However, with the pokémon already losing her held item, the attack has no other effects. With no more threats from the Shuppet, Houndoom finishes the round by laying herself on the ground and closing her eyes, resting to recharge her hitpoints. During her slumber, the curse attack engulfs her and inflicts more damage. After this round, Mario the Shuppet is almost down with only a slight fraction of hitpoints left whereas Houndoom is resting up to regain her hitpoints. In terms of energy, both pokémon still have quite a bit, but with Mario's hitpoints declining so low, energy is not exactly the most part of what he needs right now... Inferno to order first, followed by Tyranidos. |

Inferno stares at Shuppet in disbelief. He can't believe it survived a super effective attack when it was already so low on health, so now he has to hope Houndoom's ability will help her wake up fast and finish it off for good.

OOC: Rest restores energy, not health, according to PASBL site.
Tyrant knew that Shuppet was nearly done, but he wouldn't go down without a fight. "Alright Mario, I know your time is almost up, but this is the end! I want you to fight your hardest! Double Night Shade! |

[*yawn* I didn't realize, though, there is a little more freedom in FB trainer battles]
With the match in its definite final legs by now, Houndoom is still fast asleep, regaining her energy during her slumber. With this opportunity, Mario begins his first attack, swooping down to the same level as the sleeping dog pokémon and emitting the same purple waves from his eyes once more. The Houndoom growls in her sleep, obviously reacting to the ghost pokémon's attacks before opening her mouth wide to emit a loud snore. However, due to the Shuppet's immunity to normal type moves, he manages to remain unharmed. With the initial attacks over, the Houndoom's eyes begin to open, she is now completely awake and has more energy than prior to her mid-battle nap. Right away, she leaps into action, her eyes glowing a bizarre black colour before she fires waves of darkness in the form of a dark hidden power attack. As the waves approach Mario, the ghost pokémon's eyes widen, it seemed to know that this wasn't going to be good for him. Colliding with the Shuppet, the black waves eventually disappear to reveal the lifeless Mario. Mario the Shuppet is unable to battle, Inferno and Houndoom win this battle! And with this victory, Houndoom gains two levels, levelling her from 24 to 26 (if she has not gained any levels post-entering this battle). On top of this, Inferno wins this little beauty, a Beginner Trainer Battle trophy!. Upon the collection of three of these you will be able to take a Lvl 1 Gym challenge. |

"We won! You're the best, Houndoom!" Inferno yells, hugging her. "We have our second Beginner Trophy thanks to you and can challenge a gym leader if we're lucky and win another battle." He returns Houndoom to her Fire Ball to rest and puts his trophy away with the other one hoping his collection will grow. Thanking Tyranidos for battling him, Inferno leaves the Stardust Fields looking forward to his next battle. |
