PokéRinger Match-up thread

Once the sign-up thread is closed and all the entrants are decided, the match-ups, which are determined by a random number generator, will be posted in this thread.

With each stage of the contest, the next battle match-ups will also be posted as soon as possible in this thread, so members know who is their opponent and when their initial round attacks are expected to be sent in.

"I would like to cordially welcome each and every one of you to the first of hopefully many PokéRinger contests to be held right here in our very own Cloud Garden." a voice boomed over a large speaker system installed within the plush new arena. Around the stands, people of all ages and walks of life sit cheering or watching on, waiting for everything to heat up as it no doubt would.

"Without further ado, I request that you focus all your attentions upon the screen," the voice echoed once more, "In a few short seconds time, the match-ups for the contest will be announced..." With that came a deathly silence, almost every audience member sat with bated breath, wondering what pokémon and sorts of trainers would be appearing on screen and in the arena today for their viewing pleasure. With a flurry of digital effect feathers, the screen began to change. The previous logo had been replaced by an empty grid with a bingo-like ball at the side began deciding each trainers fate. Eventually, the board showed almost every combatant and their match-up:

Shadowshocker vs. Psychopath

Treepandaone vs. SW-
Firewater vs. Tale
Arc_Angel vs. SP-Eevee

"I guess that's that then, let the battles commence!" the voice finished and, as it did, the screen changed for a final time and the crowed roared loudly, excited for the upcoming contest. This time, the simple rules appeared upon the screen:

Each round will consist of:
1 vs. 1
72 hour DQ
Tournament Trainer Battle (Pokemon will be considered to be of equal strength but will not gain or lose any attacks)
Return = KO

As the trainers and their pokémon companions, both trained and rental, prepared themselves for the contest to begin, several flying type pokémon give them and the audience an example of how the contest worked. High in the sky, a rough and tumble Skarmory and a majestic Altaria bout to decide who gets the required ring. After a slight aerial battle, the Skarmory nosedives with the ring, reaching the goal post in the centre of the arena. With a sort of airborn swagger, the steel bird drops its ring and throws its head backwards before screeching happily. With the example round over, the trainers have nothing left to do but fight for the ring...

"With our opening rounds completely over, it is time to let the generator decide on the quarter final match-ups. Without further ado, let it commence!" the voice boomed once more and the screen jumped into life. As it did, the remaining names spun around the screen before coming to a halt in four match ups.

Quarter Finals

Pearl's Perap vs. Silver Wind
empoleon dynamite vs. psychopath

"Congratulations to the people who have gotten this far and the best of luck to you in the quarter finals, let's see if the battles can get even more extreme!" With those final words, the screen changed once more to a cheery face emblazoned with a large GOOD LUCK. The crowd roared once again, clearly psyched up for the upcoming matches.

"With our quarter finals over, it is time to let the generator decide on the semifinal match-ups. Without further ado, let it commence!" the voice boomed once more and the screen jumped into life. As it did, the remaining names spun around the screen before coming to a halt in four match ups.

Semifinals

"Congratulations to the people who have gotten this far and the best of luck to you in the semifinals, the end really is getting closer and closer..." With those final words, the screen changed once more to a cheery face emblazoned with a large GOOD LUCK. The crowd roared louder than ever, excited as the tournament began reaching its end...

"That's it folks, the deciding round is here. After the semi-finals, we are left with two trainers remaining. Funnily enough, both harness the power of rather swift bugs, this is going to be a rather interesting battle
