BIG SHOCKER
If you're surprised by this, you have been living under a rock. Hopefully, Iran will just Civil War for like a year and then be less of a theocratic dictatorship. |

The thing is, Iran's become less of a theocratic dictatorship under Ahmadinejad, and the American media is trying to portray the protests as unrest against the Ayatollah. People are pissed off for economic reasons, since Ahmadinejad hasn't been the best manager of Iran's fortunes, not because of religious reasons. The Ayatollah is being indited because he's backing Ahmadinejad's legitimacy, it's not like these protests are going to forshadow the fall of the religious government.
Despite this, I do feel the elections were rigged. Ahmadinejad should have won, but not by a 2:1 victory. He should have won with 54% of the vote and Mousavi 45%. A recount could be possible, and I don't think this will escalate to violence.

How to fix your nation:
Step 1: Have a mercenary assassinate the dictator. Step 2: Have superhero cyborg from the future Cable take over. Step 3: Build your democracy. Step 4: Live happily ever after. Step 5: Do not give Deadpool access to a teleportation device. |

The problem was he rigged it too much, nobody was going to believe he'd win in a landslide. If he had wanted somewhat less of a protest for his rigged election he should've pumped it up to only a comfortable margin, few hundred thousand votes, as opposed to the actual reported vote.
