Pokemon Trainer
|
Another question I had as I was thinking over it. Would it be possible for me to re-register? I had another character I wanted to play instead of the previous one that was accepted.

You don't really need to re-register. If it's just a question of making a new character, you can change your character whenever you please. If you're talking about starting anew, new starter and everything, there's a reset documentation thread where you can list all the Pokémon and/or items you're dropping. If this includes your starter, you are allowed to then choose your new starter right then and there. You can also delevel and devolve anything you have if you so choose, and by no means do you need to drop everything else if you wish to drop your starter and pick a new one.
You're also allowed to post in the Retroactive Pickup Thread to pick up anything from the new starter pack you didn't get from the old one. |

Alright, so, this just occurred to me. As of Sun and Moon, Dark Void now only works if used by Darkrai. Two questions. One, is this going to be the case in FB? And two, if yes, where does this leave anything that learned Dark Void via TM from that one event years ago, such as my Qwilfish?

I'd say screw it with regards to Dark Void being Darkrai-only. If anything, any non-Darkrai using DV would have a reduced effect, such as shorter sleep.

Question about the Casino event: Is a trainer required to accompany the Pokémon during either phase?

A Pokemon may adventure alone, yes.

Because it's been brought up a couple times on Discord and hasn't received a straight answer (or it got swallowed up if it did), are the XD Mew Tutor Moves (Fake Out, Faint Attack, Hypnosis, Night Shade, Zap Cannon) allowed?
And on a weirder note, would Surf from Stadium technically qualify, or that too much of a stretch? |

As far as I'm aware, we aren't allowing people to learn moves like Sacred Sword or Relic Song on their Pokemon, and I'm not sure about Draco Meteor on Dragon-types or the Elemental Hyper Beams on non-starters / monkeys so I think the same would apply here personally, but this hasn't been discussed yet and we may want to give some thought to this.

So I think this was brought up on discord, but can Pokemon gain levels in Incognito Isle? I know a few Pokemon have been involved in battles and some have been involved in physical tasks, so it would make sense that they would be capable of gaining levels there. Maybe we tone it back a bit but I don't see the harm in it since you are still RPing.

HMs don't exist.
Fly and Surf are TMs. Unsure of the rest.

For clarification, are Pokémon Attacks actually allowed in the CG event? Or is it purely a balloon-based strategy game?

It's intended to be a balloon-based strategy game, but if you wish to use attacks indirectly (not targeted at other Pokemon) it's permitted as long as it doesn't disrupt the overall spirit of the game.

So now that replies are to be PMed for the CG event, is RP (still) required?

Just want to clarify a few things now that Bond is in effect.
1: The Egg/MT move one can learn at a Bond level of 30- does this follow the same rule as the Calendar, in that unnatural MTs are allowed for Pokémon that already learned all their EMs and MTs? If so, is this allowed for something that's learned all its EMs and MTs but has not learned Gummi Bomb? 2: There was talk of purified Shadow Pokémon that don't get their Shadow form stabilized being allowed to retain one or two of their Shadow moves. Is this still to be the case? |

1. As I did with my Smeargle, I think that if there aren't any natural EMs/MTs to learn, it defaults to Gummi Bomb.
2. I want to say yes. If non-shadow Pokemon can learn Shadow Moves at 40 and 50 bond, I don't see why former shadow pokemon can't keep their moves. |

Follow-up question- the allowed Advanced Move learned at a Bond level of 40, does the Pokémon have to actually get said Advanced Move in the games to be allowed to get an Advanced Move here, or do Pokémon with no learnable Advanced Moves have to choose between Guardian Terrain or a Shadow move?

Regarding Bond implementation, I think some aspects need clarification on the post of reference. Here are my doubts/suggestions:
- If I transfer a Pokemon to a Friend Ball now, is the bond increment retroactive (as in +2 per post since April), or only counting from the moment of transfer? - Can any Pokemon learn any Advanced Move, like Snorlax learning Frenzy Plant? What Advanced Moves are available? Can non-Dragons learn Draco Meteor via Bond? Can any Pokemon learn Dragon Ascent or Relic Song via Bond? - Can non-Shadows learn Shadow Moves at 40 Bond? - What is the "move relearner", what does it do? Nothing is mentioned in the Move Tutor regarding that feature. - Do I have to always link to Bond when teaching unnatural TMs from here on out, or is it trust-based like Levels and other stats? - Shouldn't Friend and Luxury Ball prices be revised? Atm there is no reason to have Pokemon inside any other kind of Ball given how powerful these two are. - Custom moves (Terrain, Gummi Bomb, Shield) should have official definitions on the Bond thread - what they do, how long Guardian Terrain lasts, what happens if the Terrain summoner leaves battle, etc. It helps new players as well as updaters for future reference. I'm sorry if some of these are already explained on the post and I missed it! Even if some of these have been addressed on Discord, info gets easily lost there. I'd prefer to see these written down on the forum, if you agree! Cheers

The move relearner is the service of the Move Tutor that teaches moves to Pokémon that they get at later levels, like Liquidation to a level 10 Mareanie.

Take for example Lombre. Lotad learns several moves leveling up that Lombre doesn't. As it is in FB, you would be able to learn these moves as a Lombre by leveling up normally and learning them when Lotad would have. However, for instance, Lotad learns Energy Ball at 36 - the Move Relearner lets you teach your Lombre Energy Ball pre-Lv 36. The Move Relearner was introduced in Pokemon Sun & Moon, and that is what this feature is based off of. |

So it's not a "relearning" at all, is it? :P Should be clarified in the shops, it's all I'm saying!
EDIT: So basically it allows a Level 10 Snorlax to learn Giga Impact sooner, is that it?

Alright, follow-up question to what I asked a while back regarding Secret Bases. For those wondering what I'm talking about, I asked about keeping my old Secret Base until the conclusion of a certain storyline, then getting it closed and starting a new Secret Base.
Now what I'm wondering is... would I be allowed to start up my new Secret Base right now, but keep my old one solely for the purposes of that one storyline? Any new storylines would only be allowed in the new Secret Base, while the old one, I would still request to have closed upon the completion of the sole storyline still ongoing in there, and not allow anyone to start new storylines in there. Could I do this, or would this be pushing it? |
