WHEW. For a while there, I was worried that this show was becoming far too heterosexual. Good to see a return to its roots this episode.
Spoiler: show

Last week I watched all the eps with my friends and just saw the latest one last night xd;
I used to say Nagisa was my fave, but now it's really hard to choose between all of them and I actually think I like Makoto the most now, although just by smidge *nod* HaruxMakoto 4ever~ |

Spoiler: show Well thinking back, it's no big deal. Haaah, I guess it's just how competition manga goes. If a character looks like he's going to escape a cliche, he jumps right back into it. Also Michael Phelps needs to make a guest arrival in Free....and singlehandedly destroy Rin's dream. (I don't know if Rin's dream is a spoiler or not) Spoiler: show Oh Michael Phelps...smokin' that weed. |

Guess who started and watched 7 episodes of this last night...
me. :\ It's all right. I like the animation, but there's just no suspense for me. |

Yeah that's pretty much the consensus here. I mostly just watch the episodes looking for things to make fun of.

And you know what, guys?
Even if you only watch it for stuff to make fun of... it's still way better and more material-providing than K-ON!, where nothing ever happens. |

I watched Episode 8 just now.
I wish it didn't end where it did. |

What was Rei implying when they went to Haruka's house and couldn't find him anywhere? That he went off and committed suicide? lol, I know he's a brooding emo boy and all, but damn.
I keep forgetting that Rei is a new recruit and doesn't know the history behind Rin's relationship with the other boys. He must have been surprised when he found out that this big asshole who keeps showing up and taunting them was actually their childhood buddy!

My husbando would be Rei
Anyway, I made a post on tumblr about it so I'll simplify it here. We joke about how gay the show is, and sure it is, to a degree, but really the show is about bromance. It's one of the truest displays of what real friendship is that I've seen in a show before. No matter how shitty Haru feels over losing Rin as a best friend, his friends don't get annoyed. They understand why he never smiles. Regardless, they do everything in their power to make him happy. It's truly heartwarming, this show. |

The comment sums my thoughts up exactly... Anyway, this was a pretty fun episode, minus the gay. Spoiler: show I don't really have a husbando. Can I pick the teacher? Pretty much the main reason I'm watching is to find out what exactly she did with swimsuits that was so embarrassing. =3=

My theory since the beginning has been that she did gravure modeling at some point and is trying to keep it a secret (either) to avoid embarrassment and/or losing her job if Japanese PTAs are anything like American PTAs.

This week's episode was pretty good. Certainly a step up compared to the last few episodes.
Episode 9 spoilers Spoiler: show Honestly, I'm not really watching this show as anything serious. I guess I like it because it's amusing watching the 4 main characters do stuff. Kinda like K-On I guess. Nagisa's bantering with Rei is always really funny. Though when it gets serious, it can get irritating. It doesn't have to be cute girls doing cute things to be entertaining! |

Ahhh, yaoi hands, so that's what that was. At the very start of the show, Makoto pets a kitty, and it could have fit in the palm of his hand! At first I thought he was supposed to be like 7 feet tall. Anyway, Nagisa for husbando. He's cute and mischievous!
I find Miss Ama-chan to be an adorable character, but she's not very useful right now. I still think it would have been way funnier if she had the role of oggling the boys' muscles instead of Gou. There's been lots of male pedo teachers in anime (Azumanga Diaoh, Card Captor Sakura), so why not do a role reversal? Just imagine, a boy could take his top off to go into the pool, and she could blush and be all like, "Ara ara!" and get really flustered. Maybe she could make subtle passes at them too. Also her mystery job with swimsuits was helping guys try on their speedos. But then, I suppose, what would Gou's purpose be? Moral support. And the whole sibling reconciliation thing.
