Well there have only been two Lion King films so I suppose this is Lion King 3?

Interesting. Could be terrible, could be quite decent.

Also, technically there was also Lion King 1/2. But that's more like a cologue to number 1.

I believe that you are mistaken. There have been only two Lion King films.

I'm thinking this will be terrible but it could be great!

Yeah, you're right there have only been two movies, the original Lion King and that movie about Timon and Pumbaa.

Lion King 1 and a half was a pretty good movie, especially when compared to the dreck known as the Lion King 2.

Also Kion is pretty much the exact same model at Simba, which is hilarious.

For better or worse (you decide), it'll be a spin-off / sequel to The Lion King 2. This is clear from such facts as:
  • the decision to have the protagonist, Kion, be Simba's secondborn child rather than firstborn
  • the decision to have Simba's firstborn be Kiara, the same lioness who starred in The Lion King 2
  • the decision to have Kiara be first in line for the Pride Rock crown rather than have her and her husband start a tribe elsewhere and have Kion be next in line for the crown
Basically this sounds like "Prince Harry - the Furry Animu Edition". And like I said in opening, I'll say again in closing: you decide for yourself whether this sounds good or not.

I'm more interested in the sequel to this, starring Kion's son Zion, as he attempts to overthrow the kingdom after a burning bush tells him there is no Circle of Life, there is only God.

Spoiler: show
I give two more years until we see a movie called "Space Mountain".
