The UPN Backlog Thread
"Have you finished those games?" I have a backlog, you have a backlog. Don't lie to me, UPN, I know you've got games you been meaning to play but have put off since you bought them from that one sale two summers ago. Don't deny it! Here, we encourage each other to play those games we've been meaning to play and slowly clear that backlog we've accumulated over time. Show us your list, and come back and cross one off when you've completed it, or add one to the list when you get a new game, simple as that. Yes, this serves a different purpose from the Pickups and Plays thread, so don't ask! Personally, I'm still sitting on games I bought from the last Steam sale, and I'm sitting on several I had gifted to me, too. Not cool! It's not like I want to sit on them or anything... b-baka... I just never get around to it. So, to start us off, here's my list. Highlighted are priority games... I'm not proud of it. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Assassin's Creed Revelations Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Deus Ex: Human Revolution Alan Wake Puzzle Agent Puzzle Agent 2 Quantum Conundrum Dustforce Darksiders Amnesia: The Dark Descent Splinter Cell: Conviction Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim The Bard's Tale Sword and Sworcery The Binding of Isaac Bulletstorm Cave Story+ Dear Esther Dragon Age: Origins Duke Nukem Forever Dungeons of Dredmor Fallout: New Vegas + all DLC Far Cry 2 Half-Life 2 + E1 Halo 4 Homefront Psychonauts Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale Saint's Row: The Third Star Wars: KOTOR Vanquish Alright, UPN, let's see the damage.

Batman: Akrham Asylum
Batman: Arkham City BioShock BioShock 2 Cave Story+ Darksiders Dragon Age: Origins Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim L.A. Noire Monkey Island 2: Special Edition Portal Portal 2 The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition Star Wars: KOTOR Super Meat Boy (I played it a bit, but I want to finish it) Syberia Syberia 2 Tales of Monkey Island Chapters 1 - 5 Torchlight Torchlight II Trine Trine 2 And a smattering of indie games from various bundles. The sad part is that I can't even play a few of these games because my computer isn't good enough.

Is this a backlog only of games we own, or games we own AND intend to play in the future but haven't gotten around to?

I don't understand how those two things are mutually exclusive.
I think the idea of backlog implies that you intend to play them though. I'll make a list when I can actually figure out what games I own. :x |

Sorry, the second part of that is supposed to be "games we don't own but intend to play in the future."
Wow I'm tired. |

Oh well in that case I think the idea of backlog implies that you own them and you feel like since you bought them you should play them. At least that's generally the idea of these kinds of threads.
But I'm sure no one would object if you put a game on that you haven't gotten yet but intend to play at some point. |

There are a few more games untouched in my Steam Library (that are generally encompassed in the "smattering of indie games" phrase) that I didn't explicitly mention because they're not ones I would want to play immediately.

Ah ok. There are some games like FF7 that I intend to play (and would therefore consider to be on my backlog) but have not acquired yet. I will post my list soon with only games I own though.

Pokemon HeartGold
Final Fantasy Four Warriors of Light Deus Ex: Human Revolution Amnesia: The Dark Descent Batman Arkham Asylum Fallout 3 Super Meat Boy Oblivion Resident Evil Zero Resident Evil Final Fantasy VIII Final Fantasy IX Kingdom Hearts Bioshock Bioshock 2 Red Dead Redemption Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Legend of Zelda Wind Waker Gears of War Metroid Prime Trilogy Persona 3 Alan Wake Off the top of my head. I'll have a dig around in my games collection (which along with my 360 is about a half an hours walk away at a friends flat with his awesome tv) later. A few of these I've nominally completed before but only with my brother, and would quite like to do them entirely myself.

Can this include games we've played but never finished even though we intended to?
Because I've only ever finished one of the eight Zelda games I own ;;

Tales of the Abyss
Tales of Vesperia Persona 3 Chrono Cross Several Super Robot Wars titles (which admittedly I don't have much intention on playing) Dragon Quest 8 Dragon Quest 9 Metroid Prime 3 Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn Shadow of the Colossus Metal Gear Solid 2 Resident Evil 6 (which I'm more likely to return than play) Recettear Fotrune Summoners Half-Life Half-Life 2 Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Ys Origin Ys: The Oath of Felghana Okamiden There's also 3DS stuff, but I haven't bought any of it yet. I have the money, but when I go to actually buy a 3DS and the games, I think to myself "I might need this money later on. I'll wait until I have more so this won't put such a large dent in my wallet." I get more, think the same thing. This process will probably continue until I find one for like, $100 or something. |

I second this notion. Bastion remains for me one of the best games I have ever played, hands down.
Heh, we should vote on what other members should play first in their backlogs :P

Really? I got bored after the first twenty minutes or so and put it down. Hence why it's not in my backlog even though I own it.

It starts a bit slow but starts picking up. Probably the best ending I've seen and may ever see. I don't foresee any game ending topping Bastion's.

What Tdos said. Bastion has a slow start but when the story more or leas becomes clear, coupled with that brilliantly amazing narrator and 100% drawn and painted level design and acoustic frontier triphop music... it's an experience.
