It's still poop. I don't want to swallow fish urine or faeces, and I certainly don't want it out of insects, either.

Plus pretty sure locusts can eat meat, since I think they cannibalize. Then again most insects do.

And the insect feces really aren't a problem, everything that's potentially dangerous is killed/destroyed in the frying. One of the things I've eaten: The Giant Water Bug I've also had some small crickets, worms and cocoons but I've found a link that shows everything here so take a look at that and decide for yourself if you want to try eating it

It does, lol Though that being said, they do use similar products in Thailand too for preparing those things, I've seen it myself

So how exactly would you clean a bug of their digestive system?

The same way you do shrimp? You remove the entire alimentary canal?

Shrimp have their digestive tract run along where a vertebrate's spine would be found. But most insects have it more central to their bodies.
Spoiler: show And just by imagery, it would seem like you're cutting out like half the insect. |

All the more reason not to eat insects. Nothing but guts and fingernails. (The chitin exoskeleton.)

Too bad all that guts is full of nutrients.
Can we seriously stop assuming that insect feces is just as harmful as mammal ones? Present the facts bro. Present.

Well, grubs don't have much of an exoskeleton, but I think it's pretty silly that Dopple would point out that the guts/fecal matter is still inside when most foods probably have bug fecal matter on it whether you know it or not.

Well, at least they are sterilizing it and making sure that its clean before doing anything to it. Feces are known to contain a lot of energy from food, so its more like recycling than eating feces. But seriously no one asked for this Talon. |

And what you presented had nothing to do with insect feces. The article you posted is really quite different.
I realize the tongue in checkness but I am ignoring it for now.

Are you really going to deny that you tried to argue that insect feces > mammalian feces on the basis of its nutrient content? That's pretty much your post, dude.

I said the guts have nutrition content. I had said earlier that the main point was whether or not insect feces were as dangerous or anywhere near as consuming mammal feces.

Okay, I know we all hate this thread for what it stands for, I learned something new about eating bugs.
Apparently you can easily gut a grasshopper by simply pulling its head really hard and removing it. While fairly gory, if done right, all of it's digestive organs pull out with it and leaves you with fairly clean mean. It's fairly paltry, but grasshoppers carry a lot of parasites apparently and you don't ever want that. |

There's a lot of grasshoppers in this area right now. I wonder if I should consider eating them...are they kosher, I wonder?
