Arriving in the vicinity of Loch Bygone with his faithful Frillish Blu at his side, it wasn’t long before Zak and the dapper jellyfish spotted the towering threat that they had signed up to help thwart just day before. Not too far away, a massive Mudsdale was creating earth shaking tremors as it galloped around the locale without a care in the world. It’s complete disregard for the landscape was disturbing the ground, sending the local Pokémon fleeing from the scene lest they be trampled by the monster’s gigantic hooves. Seeing the place facing such a horrendous disturbance, the man upped his pace and motioned for his Frillish to do the same.
Getting closer to the humongous horse, it quickly became clear to Zak that the two of them were not alone in signing up to stop the stallion. From every direction, the man and the Floating Pokémon were being joined by a whole squad of trainers and their chosen partners. With such a united force, this overgrown pony didn’t really stand a chance. Reaching the Loch, Zak turned to offer a friendly wave to the gathering of his fellow raiders before turning again to his own partner Blu to provide him with his first command for the match. Given that the Mudsdale looked to be in great shape, the man decided on a move that would help to make a start at frittering away at the horse’s hitpoints: “Time to trap that horrible horse in one of your Whirlpools (35BP + Mystic Water), Blu!”

Raid Boss Mudsdale ★★★★ Health Gauge: 92% Shields Up: 0 Status: Def +3, Grassy Terrain (4 Turns remaining), Whirlpool (4 Turns remaining), Sandstorm (4 Turns remaining) Raid Boss Attack Summary Attack 1: Fissure (Death BP) Median Dia, Bublasaur-F: Bulbasaur avoids the attack! Attack 2: Stomping Tantrum (150 BP) King Ghidorah, Mr. Mime-G: 120 HP Attack 3: Max Rockfall (130 BP) ChrisClark13, Spheal: 163 HP A sandstorm brewed! The raiders are buffeted by the sandstorm! Raid Challengers Team: Reflect (4 Turns remaining), Mist (4 turns remaining) King Ghidorah, Mr. Mime-G: 120 HP {Charti Berry [rock resist]} Median Dia, Bulbasaur-F: 400 HP {Mummy Bandages [+1 Def]} myahoo, Wingull: 375 HP SpinyShell, Bulbasaur-F: 300 HP Pearl's Perap, Frillish: 300 HP {Mystic Water [+2 to Water moves]} Zelphon, Dragapult: 500 HP ChrisClark13, Spheal: 163 HP (Def +1) Fearing the strength of the oversized equine, the raiders begin their battle by safeguarding themselves from physical damage and debuffs while providing some recovery for all with a defensive grassy terrain, and as the Spheal bolsters its own physical resilience a few others go on the warpath and begin to barrage it with attacks, the Frillish trapping it in a whirlpool, though these have the effect of bolstering its brimming Stamina. Such dishonourable deeds enrage the clydesdale, and it responds with fury, attempting to straight up murder one of the Fizzytopian Bulbasaur through crushing it beneath its muddy hooves! The grass type has time to evade, yet the sheer rippling force of its anger thoroughly jostles the Mime, who is knocked on his bum as a powerful rockfall slams into the Spheal for respectable damage, and the swirling sandstorm undoes the healing of the terrain for all but the boss, who is at least thankful for the reduced whirlpool damage overall. That said, it is the other Bulbasaur who surges with energy. Dynamax Initiative: SpinyShell, Bulbasaur-F

After a bit of debate regarding whether or not to Dynamax, I've decided that I'm going to use Giga Drain (75 BP).

Underestimating the Clydesdale was the last thing on the agenda for the raiding party as they used the first round against the Dynamaxed Mudsdale to prepare for the melee to come. One of two Fizzytopian Bulbasaur that were facing off against the horse started things off by manipulating the surroundings of the Loch with vines, leaves and roots materialising from the ground all around the party. At the same time as this, the Galarian Mr. Mime set up a protective barrier between the raiders and the monstrous Mudsdale and the Wingull formed a mist across the leafy battlefield.
Alongside the more defensive actions, several of the raiding Pokémon began to launch attacks at their Dynamaxed foe too. Blu was one of these, manifesting a whirlpool to surround the equine for the next few rounds. As the Frillish successfully trapped the horse, the Dragapult and the other Fizzytopian Bulbasaur launched their attacks too. Despite these successful hits, the Mudsdale's ability became quickly clear as each physical hit provided the Clydesdale with a boost to its defences. Looking rather pleased with itself, the Dynamaxed Mudsdale began its retaliation against the party. First up, the evil equine attempts to kill one of the Bulbasaur by creating a horrifying fissure below them with its hooves. Luckily, the Fizzytopian Bulbasaur manages to avoid this suddenly forming crevasse and live to see another day... or round at the very least. The same cannot be said for the Galarian Mr. Mime who is trampled by a Stomping Tantrum and the Spheal who is smashed by a Max Rockfall. Despite the healing properties of the verdant terrain that had overtaken the battlefield, the sandstorm conjured by the Mudsdale's Max Rockfall whipped its way around the Loch to sting at the faces of the raiders and nullify any benefits they may have felt. With the round at its end, the Dynamax Initiative passed from the Dragapult to one of the Fizzytopian Bulbasaur with crimson essence swirling around her pumpkin. "Blu - try to keep an eye out for those hooves and Scald (80BP + Mystic Water) the beast from afar!"

Raid Boss Mudsdale ★★★★ Health Gauge: 74% Shields Up: 6 Status: Def +6, Grassy Terrain (3 Turns remaining), Whirlpool (3 Turns remaining), Sandstorm (3 Turns remaining), Pumpkin Bombed (2 Turns until detonation) Raid Boss Attack Summary Attack 1: Fissure (Pitfall Trap BP) Pearl's Perap, Frillish: Frillish avoids the attack! Attack 2: Max Quake (130 BP) It doesn't affect Wingull! Attack 3: Fissure (Murder BP) SpinyShell, Bulbasaur-F: Bulbasaur avoids the attack! A sandstorm brewed! The raiders are buffeted by the sandstorm! Raid Challengers Team: Reflect (3 Turns remaining), Mist (3 turns remaining) King Ghidorah, Mr. Mime-G: 120 HP {Charti Berry [rock resist]} Median Dia, Bulbasaur-F: 400 HP {Mummy Bandages [+1 Def]} myahoo, Wingull: 350 HP SpinyShell, Bulbasaur-F: 300 HP Pearl's Perap, Frillish: 300 HP {Mystic Water [+2 to Water moves]} Zelphon, Dragapult: 500 HP ChrisClark13, Spheal: 163 HP (Def +1, Ice Ball (4 Hits remaining)) The raiders go all-out on the offensive as the Mudsdale's physical defence reaches its peak, and force the boss to bring up its first set of shields which the Spheal rolls into. Irked with their progress, it once again attempts to bury someone in a Fissure, but the Frillish narrowly avoids plummeting down. It then attempts to bolster its special defence with a Max Quake, but the flying type Wingull anticipates this and the mighty move does nothing. Now frustrated, the horse once more attempts to bypass the physical rampart with an OHKO move, but Spiny's Bulbasaur is wise to its trickery and evades yet another fissure, leaving the raiders with no damage whatsoever save for the swirling sand as Mudsdale roars in fury at its failure to do anything. It is then Mr. Mime's turn to possess Dynamax potential. Dynamax Initiative: King Ghidorah, Mr. Mime-G.

With the raiders unleashing everything they had against the Dynamaxed Mudsdale, the horrendous horse managed to reach its defensive peak with ease thanks to its defence boosting Stamina ability. Alongside this, the Draft Horse Pokémon erected a series of defensive shields between itself and the party of Pokémon facing off against it, one of which was quickly destroyed by the raiding Spheal.
Not amused by the progress of the party, the Dynamaxed Mudsdale attempts to destroy a number of the raiders as the round continues. First up, another Fissure forms below Blu the Frillish but, much like its fellow raider from the previous round, the jellyfish narrowly avoids certain doom. Seeking to boost its Special Defence alongside its sky high Defence, the next attack came in the form of a Max Quake. This move did not quite hit the mark for the beast, either, the targeted Wingull being immune to such a move. Further enraged by its own failures, the Draft Horse attempts to take out one of the Fizzytopian Bulbasaur by forming another Fissure... to no avail. As the round came to its end, the Dynamaxed Mudsdale hadn't landed a successful hit and appeared pretty pissed off by this turn of events as the sandstorm continued to whip about the Loch. With the horse's bad mood and its heightened defences in mind, Blu would need to be cautious out there, particularly as one of its failed knock-outs. Luckily, the Frillish was looking fighting fit and ready to continue, even with the defensive panels surrounding the horse. "Blu - it's time to smash your way through one of those shield panes with your Icy Wind (55BP) attack!"

Raid Boss Mudsdale ★★★★ Health Gauge: 71% Shields Up: 0 Status: Def +5, Spec. Def -1, Speed -1, Grassy Terrain (2 Turns remaining), Whirlpool (2 Turns remaining), Sandstorm (2 Turns remaining), Pumpkin Bombed (1 Turn until detonation) KOs: 1 Raid Boss Attack Summary Attack 1: Lash Out (150 BP) Median Dia, Bulbasaur-F: 295 HP Attack 2: Lash Out (150 BP) myahoo, Wingull: 280 HP Attack 3: Fissure (Oblivion BP) Median Dia, Bulbasaur-F: The raiders are buffeted by the sandstorm! Raid Challengers Team: Reflect (2 Turns remaining), Mist (2 turns remaining) King Ghidorah, Mr. Mime-G: 120 HP {Charti Berry [rock resist]} Median Dia, Bulbasaur-F: 0 HP {Mummy Bandages [+1 Def]} [Must wait 1 Round to recover] myahoo, Wingull: 205 HP SpinyShell, Bulbasaur-F: 300 HP Pearl's Perap, Frillish: 300 HP {Mystic Water [+2 to Water moves]} Zelphon, Dragapult: 500 HP ChrisClark13, Spheal: 163 HP (Def +1, Ice Ball (3 Hits remaining)) With its defences up, the raiders forgo dynamax to assault it directly, a barrage of attacks assailing the horse and eventually shattering the shields as the Frillish blows forth a chilling gust of wind that causes the Mudsdale to shiver as it feels itself slowing down through its reduced defences. This is the straw that breaks its back though as the Mudsdale promptly lashes out with incredible ferocity, smashing into the Bulbasaur variant of Chroma and slapping the Wingull amidst the sand, before finishing up by shaking its head and focusing directly on the reeling Bulbasaur, who is too dazed to avoid the inevitable. Fissure this time lands, and the unfortunate grass type is sent plummeting to their doom as the equine finally seems ready to start taking things seriously, even as Frillish feels the energy flowing through him. Dynamax Initiative: Pearl's Perap, Frillish.
