Jake Celeste had never seen anything as big as the Decidueye that was in front of him. Jake had made it a point to memorize all the Starter Pokémon Pokédex entries, and he recalled Decidueye's:
Decidueye, the Arrow Quill Pokémon. A Grass- and Ghost-type. As if wielding a bow, it launches the arrow quills hidden among the feathers of its wings. Decidueye's shots never miss. When Jake had first read the "Decidueye's shots never miss," he had thought, Are you sure about that... But now, that statement might actually be true. Max Moves, the special moves that Dynamax Pokémon used, had accuracy like that of Z-Moves; in other words, no one's gonna dodge those. The aspiring Aura Guardian watched as all the Trainers who would participate gathered in the cave. One Trainer, who had a Houndoom, was emitting a red-purple glow from his Dynamax Band. Jake recognized it as Dynamax Energy. "Aw," said Jake to his Starly. "With such a powerful Pokémon, that Trainer would probably use Dynamax." Starly gave a little chirp of disappointment. "It doesn't matter, really," Jake added. "They might be better off Dynamaxing, anyway. We've got to do our part to help out! Ready, Starly?" "Starrr...!" Starly responded. "Alright, then, let's go!" Jake shouted. "Starly, give that Decidueye a beating with a mighty Wing Attack!" With STAB and a positive type-matchup, that move ought to do some damage, the Trainer thought. And "some damage" might be an understatement. "Starly, Star!" the Starling Pokémon cried, determined. His wings glowed a bright, blinding white and he rushed to the Dynamax Raid Boss, flying up to deliver a sharp cut with his wings. Starly rammed into Decidueye, and the collision caused white streaks of light to burst from the impact spot. (OOC: Starly will use Wing Attack, a move with 60 BP.)

The battle was kicking off, and another trainer had the dyanamax initiative this time. That was fine with Alice – she and Nani had kept all of the glory last time, and there were plenty of other tough contenders in their ranks. Although, honestly looking over everyone, Blaze was definitely up there among them. Still, she wasn't going to take the full lead here, Alice would rather keep her ears open on strategy and do what everyone thought was best. After all, when operating by herself, the idol sometimes screwed up massively. Best not do that here and trash the gym...
It was a beautiful place, too, but difficult to admire from this position. The gorgeous but colossal bird took up all the light from its perch, seeming to steal the natural glow of the cave and its inner ecosystem away. “Alright, Blaze. Wait for the Starly to get clear, and then let's go in with Flamethrower!” Alice ordered. The fighting bird nodded, his eagle-eyes watching as their ally flew in for a mighty Wing Attack. Once they were out of the danger zone, it was time for the Combusken to race in on his claws. A flurry of pink, and boosted by the Charcoal he held, Blaze unleashed a mighty Flamethrower with a base power of ninety! It was certainly nothing to scoff at, especially for an opener. “Alright, get out of there, Blaze.” Alice called. Once the spiral of ferocious flame had been spat, the Pokemon did as told, all speed and bouncy flair to return to his spot of (relative) safety in the pack.

All right Zoom, I know this is your first battle and this guy is pretty big and scary, but you can do it! Remember, you don't have to push yourself too hard. Let's keep our distance for now and start things off light with an ICICLE SPEAR (25 BP), shall we? (Boosted by Nevermeltice)

The allies attacked with ferocious Fire-type attacks, and just as Jake predicted, Houndoom Dynamaxed, growing as big as the Decidueye! The Pokémon released a searing wind of flames at the Grass- and Ghost-type, not only doing damage but also inducing strong sunlight.
"Yeah!" Jake cheered. "Go, doggo—ow!" Starly slapped him in the face with a wing. Starly rolled his eyes. Concentrate, he thought. "Come on, Starly, save that energy for the Decidueye," Jake said, recoiling from the slap. Just then, the Dynamax Raid Boss let loose with its own attacks, blasting a wave of razor-sharp leaves at some of the other Pokémon. Ouch, that gotta hurt, Jake thought. To add to that, Decidueye used the harsh sunlight to shoot a concentrated beam of solar energy at the Houndoom who just Dynamaxed, and hammered an oddly pink Combusken with spectral darkness. "The dreaded Max Phantasm," muttered the Trainer, recognizing the attack. Wait...he suddenly realized that all the attacks had not left a scratch on his own Starly, and the small blue bird had gotten through all of that unscathed! "All right!" yelled Jake, pumping his fist in the air. "Starly, good work! Now it's time to support our allies. Give the ghost owl your best impression of a Cat Pokémon!" With that, Starly soared high into the sky until he was level with the ginormous Dynamaxed Boss's face. He let loose a scary Growl, sending waves of low-frequency sound through the air that were concentrated on Decidueye. Although it did no damage, for all the effort Starly put into it, the move managed to intimidate the huge Pokémon and lower its Attack by one stage. Jake chuckled to himself. All Starly would need is the Ability Illusion and then he'd make a perfect Torracat! he thought. (OOC: Starly will use Growl with 0 BP.)

Whoops! Sorry, guys. My bad. I, uh, I suppose I'll try to get the shields thrown up with a Fire Blast (110 BP) boosted by Sunny Day?

With all of their attacks together, the Deducieye had already taken a lot of damage. Brilliant! It didn't matter to Alice that the Dynamax Initative was lost to her this time. She'd had her glory of it already with Nani, and seeing the Houndoom enlarged instead was pretty damn cool. Besides, most of Blaze's advantage lay in his agility, and he wouldn't be able to make use of that utility if he was a trillion feet tall.
“A Sunny Day effect? That works out well for all of us.” Alice noted, although maybe it wasn't so great now that it was bringing Solarbeams to their face. Indeed, Blaze had already taken a sizeable amount of damage considering they were only just getting started, so that was something to keep an eye on. She watched their allies and the moves they made, feeling a bit uncertain as the Starly only growled. Once the raid boss decided to eradicate all status changes, that was going to be pointless, and shields had to be imminent, if not in the process of being flown up. If Alice had learned anything, it was that offensive and healing tended to make the biggest differences in a raid, or straight up shielding when things got dicey. “Okay, Blaze. Use Flamethrower again!” The trainer ordered, her Pokemon rushing forth to execute his attack. With the base power at 90, and the boosts of Charcoal and Sunny Day, they had to be making a decent impact with their attack.

Jake clapped his hands and Starly chattered excitedly, as everyone fired super-effective attacks at the Decidueye. It was only then that Jake noticed the small but mighty Alolan Sandshrew, that was using Ice-type attacks! Of course, remembered Jake. Ice-type moves are super-effective on Grass-types, too. Alolan Sandshrew is an Ice- and Steel-type, and so Ice is offensively good against Grass. Steel, meanwhile, is defensively resistant to Grass-type moves.
Then, Jake watched with everyone else as the Arrow Quill Pokémon hit the Sandshrew with a Shadow Ball, before battering four of the Pokémon with Razor Leaf. Jake winced sympathetically as Starly was cut by the leaves. Decidueye then unleashed a cyclone of pressurized air at a Snorlax, before pulling up some shields. That's Max Airstream! Jake realized, seeing the move that reminded him of Aeroblast, Lugia's signature move. Since Starly and the Alolan Sandshrew were the only ones not using Fire-type attacks, and thus not taking advantage of the Sunny Day power boost, the Trainer concluded that Starly and the Alolan Sandshrew should be the ones to break the shields, to waste as little power as possible. "Alright, Starly," Jake said, "we'd better clear the way for the powerful ones to attack! Bang a shield with another Wing Attack!" Concentrating intensely, Starly rushed in, wings glowing white, for a Wing Attack. The move clanged uselessly against a shield—or so it seemed. After attacking, Starly carefully and acrobatically weaved in and out of the other ally Pokémon's moves, avoiding friendly fire as best as he could. (Pun not intended.) He returned to his place in front of the young Aura Guardian. (OOC: Starly will use Wing Attack, a move with 60 BP.)

There are 7 shields and five of us that can attack this turn. We can't break all the shields in one turn, but we can remove one for each of us that is still able to battle! Starly, Wing Attack! (60 BP) (I'll edit in the RP later.)
