How disappointing. At least I know that there's no reason to hold off getting a regular lite now.
Also, since this is a pokémon forum, I'll be the first to point out that this totally kicks the crap out of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and Pokémon transfers. gj Nintendo.

Eh, as someone who already has a camera phone and an iPod, I can confidently say that this does nothing for me. And since I have the original "can't see shit captain" Gameboy Advance, I don't think I'll be trading in my Lite anytime soon.

If you haven't gotten a DS with a GBA slot, then maybe you should look in to that... it's been a long time since the original DS system came out. I don't have a camera or an mp3 player, so this looks really exciting to me.

What is "cheap" for a console, anyway? I always told myself I would go buy one if the certain console fell below $20, but I've never seen one that low before.

Under $100 would be good. I've only gotten one console for under $40, when Toys 'R Us was unloading the Virtual Boy, and I picked up the console and all of the games for $30. Good times.

The original DS dropped down to $99 when the Lite came out I think but with a $40 price difference between the two I'm thinking Nintendo will keep wanting to sell the lites at their current price until they run out.

Cheap for a handheld? $50. The GB, GBP, GBC, GBA, GBM all started out at $99 though. The DS started at $149 and now its actually gone up after going down -_-

Maybe, but we're probably at the point in the DS' life that "plays GBA games" probably isn't much of a selling point anymore, and it's not like the PSP is a serious competitor given its incredible library of almost fuck-all for 2009.
