Dynamax Boss Drampa
★★★★
Health Gauge: 61%
Shields Up: 0
Status: [Def +2, Infestation]
Trainer Status: [Mist (2 Turns Left)

Raid Boss Attack Summary:
Attack 1: Shockwave (0 BP)

Attack 2: Max Steelspike (120 BP)
Meetan, Snubbull: 0 HP
Attack 3: Max Steelspike (120 BP)
Median Dia, Ninetales-A: 0 HP
Raid Challengers:
  • CrazyCreeperKid (Cutiefly): 61 HP
  • Lil’Twick (Mimikyu): 400 HP [Disguise]
  • Median Dia (Ninetales-A): 0 HP [Must sit out one round until recovered]
  • Meetan (Snubbull): 0 HP [Must sit out one round until recovered]

  • Sneaze (Cinccino): 195 HP
  • SpinyShell (Sandshrew-A): 188 HP [Ice Ball(3)]
  • Zelphon (Dreepy): 225 HP

With the shields gone and Drampa’s stats continually getting lowered, the elderly dragon took a deep breath before releasing a shockwave to reset its stats back to normal. It then looked down upon the two Pokemon who dared to sit and do nothing while a battle was going on and unleashed a powerful Max Steelspike upon each of them, knocking them both out.

Dynamax Initiative: Missingno. Master, Mimikyu
  • Trainers may only list 1 order per round. They are also permitted to using 1 item in lieu of an attack.
  • Dynamax Initiative will select a trainer at random. If a trainer has initiative, they may choose to Dynamax their Pokemon for a duration of 3 turns. Dynamaxed Pokemon may only select a Max Attack of a corresponding type from their registered moveset, or Max Guard in place of status moves.
  • If a hold item or ability’s effect is activated in the present round as a result of the previous round’s damage calculation or the present round’s orders, please state it clearly in your response.
  • If a trainer’s Pokemon is rendered unconscious, they may choose to cheer on their allies; opting to either remove one shield from the raid boss or healing one ally’s Pokemon by 50% of their max health.
  • Roleplaying your orders is optional, but $250 may be collected for responses of 250 words or greater, and Bond will accumulate only for the trainer’s active Pokemon in battle.
  • You have until Wednesday, September 16th to place your order.

A snarl began to form on the Drampa’s lips as it analyzed its situation. Its stats continuing to get lowered, its shields all broken by the non stop barrage… things were not looking good for the sea serpent. But… it still had a chance… it just needed to concentrate, to recover...

The dragon closed its eyes and took a few deep breaths.

“Do you think the battle is over?” Sil asked Hailstone. The Drampa seemed calmer now, surely it was worn out, surely it was too tired to continue fighting.

But unfortunately, that was only the calm before the storm.

Before the Sandshrew could respond, the dragon slowly opened its eyes and unleashed a powerful shockwave that blew away its stat drops with a loud bellow. Glaring down at the group of people and Pokémon below, its eyes focused on two unfortunate Pokémon in particular, the Snubbull and the Alolan Ninetails. Out for blood, the dragon slammed both talons on the ground with a furious roar, sending twin waves of sharpened metal spikes towards its two victims. They raced to their targets with surprising speed, too fast for either Pokémon to react. Caught by surprise, they were unable to leap out of the way, and both Fairy types were struck full force by the supereffective spikes, the impact strong enough to send them flying backwards, knocking them unconscious.

Sil brushed her hair out of her face as a strong wind suddenly swept across the field, too stunned by the swift violent turn in battle to really comprehend, and fear, what had happened. She gazed up worriedly at the storm, which looked darker and angrier than before, as if fueled by the defeat of the two Fairy types.

“I guess,” she said shakingly, “that answers that.”

Max Starfall did its job, and Drampa was further weakened. And then, it was Drampa's turn to act, and act it did, letting loose that curious shockwave- stat alterations were gone, and for the moment, Abilities were out of the question as well. Not that any of this bothered Terri- Nuzzle didn't have any stat changes, and her Ability had already provided all the help it was going to.

Next, however, came two consecutive Max Steelspikes, each one targeting a Fairy-type, each one knocking out its respective victim, putting the Snubbull and the Alolan Ninetales out of commission for the moment. Neither of them had actually made a move with the others against Drampa, for that matter- was the raid boss punishing them for this, or was it pure coincidence? Terri didn't know- it wasn't like Drampa was talking out loud about its plans here, so even her universal understanding of Pokémon language wasn't filling her in on its intentions.

Terri said nothing, watching the Alolan Sandshrew intently. Ice Ball was powering up, slowly but surely, and if it struck Drampa here, this would surely force it to erect another barrier. And sure enough, once the Ice Ball landed, that was exactly what happened. Terri knew this was her chance. "Now, Nuzzle!" she exclaimed to the still Dynamaxed Mimikyu behind her, gesturing to the shield before them. "One more time! Now perform- Max Starfall!!!"

But it wasn't going to end there- Terri knew they had to get this barrier completely out of the way before Sandshrew would land that fifth hit- that would, she knew, play a key role in taking this thing down, and it would be a terrible waste for that last hit to do nothing more but take a chunk out of Drampa's shield, since for whatever reason, the power of the move didn't matter in the slightest for this purpose.

OOC: Nuzzle used Max Starfall (130 BP; base move is Play Rough (90 BP)).

Welp, why'd I ever think that my Raids were somehow synced up? Oh well, might as well Cheer to Heal the Cutiefly.

Sil and Hailstone watched as the Cutiefly--its health recovered from the encouraging cheers of the trainer of the fallen Alolan Ninetails--unleashed the last attack of the turn, a gust of bright pink sparkles that managed to knock the Drampa down below half health judging by the its labored breathing.

“I think we have a clear shot at taking this guy out next turn,” Sil said excitedly. “The final Ice Ball blow combined with a full barrage might be enough to knock out the Drampa for good!” Hailstone squeaked happily in agreement.

However, their celebration was short-lived as the dragon let out a violent roar, a frenzied and wild expression on its face. With a flap of its massive wings, it unleashed a Heat Wave upon the hapless Pokémon before it, the searing breeze burning much stronger than before, fueled by the berserking Drampa’s rage. A cloud of steam enveloped the battlefield, obscuring it too much for Sil to see what had happened to Hailstone. Had he been struck by the blast? Sil thought worriedly.

When the cloud finally cleared, Sil saw that Hailstone was lying in a crumpled heap on the ground, surrounded by a puddle of water, which, she quickly realized with horror, was actually some of the ice from his shell melted off by the raging flames of the Heat Wave.

Desperate to see if he was alright, Sil rushed over to him, calling out in the hope that he would respond with a reassuring squeak, but to no avail. As she knelt by him, she saw that his eyes were closed and his breathing was ragged; it seemed that the doubly supereffective attack had knocked him unconscious.

“Oh Hailstone…” she said softly.

Even though Hailstone was no longer able to battle, she could still do something. Cradling the fallen Sandshrew in her arms, the melt water soaking her shirt and pants, she proceeded to cheer. Struggling to muster some positive words after such a devastating attack, she yelled a few words of encouragement in the hopes that her positive energy might break one of Drampa’s shields.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOC: I had a feeling that as Ice Ball grew stronger, my Sandshrew would get knocked out sooner or later.
Anyways, since a puddle can't do much, I'll cheer to break a shield.
Everything after the Ice Ball happened very fast, faster than Terri could feasibly follow. Moves were flying every which way, up to, including, and especially Nuzzle's potent Max Starfall. But when the dust settled, Drampa was still hiding behind a formidable barrier that would still take a lot of effort to overcome. Most tragically, the Alolan Sandshrew had been knocked out before being able to land the fifth and final hit of Ice Ball. Terri frowned at this- she recalled, about a minute ago, efforts being made to heal up other Pokémon- surely, with the nature of Ice Ball being what it was, the smart thing to do would've been to focus on keeping the Sandshrew conscious? It seemed obvious, to her at least, but alas, if anyone had maybe tried to suggest this at any point, perhaps even repeatedly, then the suggestion clearly fell on deaf ears, and the amount of self-restraint it would theoretically take such a person to not go "I told you so" at such a point as this would be nothing short of monumental. In theory.
It was at this point that Nuzzle shrunk back down to normal, her shoddy Pikachu costume faithfully changing size along with her, albeit with the head still drooping pitifully down to the side. Undeterred by this, the Mimikyu made her way back in front of her Trainer. Nuzzle didn't seem the most confident at this point, but at the same time wasn't about to back down.
And Terri knew this. "Nuzzle, use Play Rough!" she ordered.
OOC: Nuzzle used Play Rough (90 BP).
Dynamax Boss Drampa
★★★★
Health Gauge: 43%
Shields Up: 0
Status: [Atk -2, Def +1, Sp.Atk +2, Sp.Def -1]
Trainer Status: [N/A]
Raid Boss Attack Summary:
Attack 1: Surf (90 BP)
Zelphon, Dreepy: 65 HP
Lil’twick, Mimikyu: 400 HP [Disguise Busted]
MM, Mimikyu: 57 HP
Median Dia, Ninetales-A: 192 HP
Attack 2: Extrasensory (80 BP)
MM, Mimikyu: 0 HP
Attack 3: Max Phantasm (130 BP)
Sneaze, Conccino: 195 HP
Raid Challengers:
  • CrazyCreeperKid (Cutiefly): 54 HP
  • Lil’Twick (Mimikyu): 400 HP
  • Median Dia (Ninetales-A): 192 HP
  • Sneaze (Cinccino): 195 HP
  • SpinyShell (Sandshrew-A): 300 HP [fully recovered]
  • Zelphon (Dreepy): 65 HP
The onslaught of attacks continued after the Drampa’s shields were gone for good, and its Berserk rage was fueled even further. It unleashed a torrent of water that crashed down upon the Pokemon and then finished off the formerly Dynamaxed Mimikyu before blindly attacking the Cinccino to no avail. Drampa’s rage still goes on, but its defenses are finally beginning to look a little exposed.
Sil watched as the other trainers’ Pokémon made quick work on the Drampa, unleashing an onslaught of brutal attacks: a Triple Axel, several Play Roughs, a Fairy Wind, etc. Each blow shattered another one of Drampa’s shields, bringing it closer and closer to its Berserker range.
As the last Play Rough landed, the Drampa let out a furious roar that shook the ground, its wrath reaching a fever pitch. Boosted by its Berserking anger, the sea serpent unleashed a stormy tsunami upon the hapless Pokémon, the surf racing out from the open ocean until it crashed on the shore with a surge of foam and droplets of water. Sil shielded her face as she felt the spray wash over her.
The Drampa then turned to the now de-Dynamaxed Mimikyu, intent on punishing the Fairy type for daring to strike it with Max Starfalls. The Drampa unleashed an odd purple pulsing wave, before a strange distortion appeared around the Mimikyu, crushing and twisting it as it squeaked in fear. The unfortunate Disguise Pokémon crumpled anticlimactically, its rags looking even more ragged now, fluttering faintly in the wind. With a flick of her wrist, the Mimikyu’s trainer recalled the unconscious Pokémon, whispering to the Pokéball from the looks of it as the Dynamax energy shrouded the sphere in a healing light.
Fueled by the fainting of the Mimikyu and its rage, the Drampa thrashed about wildly, summoning and launching ghostly household objects straight towards the Cinccino. However, he was unfazed, the furniture and dinnerware phasing right through him. It seemed that the Drampa was so caught up in the moment it forgot its type matchups.
As the Drampa took a moment to recover, Sil felt the Pokéball at her waist shake a little. She quickly pressed the center button and Hailstone appeared in a flash of light, fully recovered.
“Now it’s time for a bit of revenge, eh?” she said, and the Sandshrew nodded in return, a determined expression on his face. “Time for an Ice Shard!”
Drampa as a species might not look especially threatening, but they were not Pokémon to be underestimated. And this particular Drampa ended up driving that point home quite nicely- after swamping a number of the combatants with a forceful Surf, its eyes then turned on the Mimikyu who had so recently Dynamaxed against it. Nuzzle gave a squeak of terror just before Drampa let loose an Extrasensory attack, knocking out the Mimikyu almost immediately.
"Nuzzle, undo!" Terri exclaimed, holding out the Poké Ball and withdrawing her unconscious Mimikyu. She gave a small sigh as the Dynamax Energy started to work its magic, healing up the Disguise Pokémon. "It's OK, you're doing great," she whispered to the sphere. "And once you're back in this, we'll finish Drampa off, I promise."
Terri then looked around. She could feel Dynamax Energy gathering in her Dynamax Band again, though this time, Terri knew it was going to be used for a different purpose. She knew the idea well by this point- by taking aim with her Dynamax Band, she could do what was known as a "cheer"- firing a bundled beam of concentrated Dynamax Energy from the Wishing Piece, either to heal up a fallen ally or chip away at the enemy's shielding. Of course, at this point, Drampa was all out of shields, so the way forward was clear. Terri's gaze fell on a severely weakened Cutiefly, a kind of Pokémon she quite liked to begin with. Taking careful aim at the diminutive insect, Terri fired the extra energy to heal up the battered Bee Fly.
OOC: Cheering to heal Queenie the Cutiefly.
