Beginner Trainer Battle: Treepandaone vs. kaisap112
The New Fairground was closed to most of the public in the winter months but it had been opened today especially for a special trainer battle. The rides were all sadly dormant sat covered in plastic until the warmer seasons arrived. A few stands had opened up today hoping to garner trade from the few people who would come to witness the battle. The smell of hot coffee and tea wafted through the air along with warm popcorn and doughnuts that had people drooling and impulsively buying. Two trainers made their way past the stands trying to ignore the wonderful smells tempting them to eat, they had bigger things in mind. They soon came across the arena set up ready with stalls for the audience to sit and watch them. Quite a few people were lined up with their tickets in hand looking excited as they saw the competitors approach. The referee was waiting with a microphone in hand her eyes lighting up as she saw them approach.
"Welcome one and all to the first battle of 2013 here at the New Fairground!" Several cheers filled the air as the trainers looked on nervously. "We have two competent battlers here hoping to bedazzle you with not one, or two but three of their Pokemon each. That's right, its a 3 on 3 battle right here for your viewing eyes. Firstly we have Matthew and his team of fossils and taking him on is Noriko and her team of feline Pokemon. Lets go over the rules so we can get this battle under way." Treepandaone vs. kaisap112She allowed them time to prepare themselves whist retrieving a coin from her pocket. She assigned Treepandaone to Heads and kaisap112 to Tails and gave it a quick flip: "Heads". Once she was sure they understood the rules she went through the order of play: – I need PM’s from both of you including your Pokemon, their stats, any healing items being declared, and your attacks for the first round (I am happy with up to 3 being used per round)“We found love, oh So don't fight it Life is a rollercoaster Just gotta ride it ” |

Round 1

Quote:
"Okay both competitors have chosen their first Pokemon, for Matthew his spunky little Anorith Pontos and for Noriko her fierce Luxio Elmira. Let battle commence" The crowd roar with approval and both Pokemon move into action. Pontos knuckles down and using his Iron Defence makes his skin as hard as steel boosting his defences. He looks up to see a bright Flash emerge from Elmira making him squeak in surprise and force his eyes shut. He blinks at the spots against his vision and tries to spy out Elmira and fires a Water Gun at where he hoped she was and catches her hind leg dealing a reduced damage hit but catching her none-the-less. She shakes off the water and leaps towards Pontos swirling mid-air to thrust her hind legs into his body with a Double Kick. His boosted defences help to hinder the damage but he grunts against the kicks all the same. With her in close quarters he manages to catch her with a quick Cut leaving a scratch down her hind. She growls in annoyance and delivers another pair of Double Kicks to Pontos dealing a small amount of damage again. The crowd cheer at the early show ready for more action to come. Sorry it's late, I've been having trouble connecting recently.
The battle ebbed and flowed in its early beginning, Matthew watching with focused eyes as he asked much of his small carapace Pokémon. To use the small Anorith so soon after its previous battle was a risk indeed, but its heart and courage won over the trainer's mind ever so quickly. Certainly, the battle promised to be an entertaining one; drawing a crowd of eagerly anticipating enthusiasts as the battle for Feline vs. Fossil truly got under-way, the understanding of the time spent raising such little ones clearly appreciated by the crowd as the Pokémon revealed themselves to several oohs and aaahs. With the Blue Cyberball humming with energy Matthew saw his opponent's Pokémon, a small but powerful Luxio intimidated his Anorith with its size advantage, but Matthew remained calm with the adverse effects. The battle started while Matthew was inspecting the competition, his Pokédex flashing with information of attacks, weaknesses and strengths as he attempted to find a way through the tough cat's offensive skills, looking for a way to turn the tide of the battle in his favour. Thinking back, an image of a Shinx flashed in his memory, a spark ignited and thoughts of a former Pokémon flooded back; the Luxio being the catalyst to unblocking his ill-gotten memory loss. Smiling with nostalgia, Matthew was soon forced to cover his eyes; the battle waging as the Anorith's iron defence made the Luxio's flash even brighter, forcing even the trainer to squint in peril. A quick exchange of attacks soon followed, the accuracy of Anorith shone through as he managed to hit the cat with a nasty water gun despite still being slightly dazed, the soggy kitten responding with some fearsome kicks. With the round over Matthew turned his attention to the Anorith's offence, the first round being closely contested and fairly even. “Anorith, go for a quick Earth Power to show that mangy cat your true power, then while it's recovering go for a Swords Dance. Finish up with a Rock Blast attack!” The trainer shouted, giving his Pokémon his customary thumbs up for luck. |

Noriko watched Elmira proudly, Kitty meowing her own form of encouragement. The trainer pulled the Skitty out of her coat, laying Kitty on the snowy ground. For some reason Noriko felt far more confident about this battle than any other one she'd had before: maybe Elmira's evolution had given a boost to the trainer's confidence as well? She turned back to the battle, burning with energy and motivation.
"Elmira, use Magnet Rise to negate all Ground-type moves, then dive in with Night Slash and finish up with a Signal Beam!" |

Round 2
Pontos has a trick up his sleeve and with orders to use it his eyes sparkle, this should show the kitty who was boss! He begins to pump ground energy into the clay arena floor making cracks appear along its surface. The crowd look around in shock as their chairs shake and some cling to one-another shrieking in alarm, I don't think Matthew had thought this through, even the referee looked a little shocked. Elmira however did not and she simply poured her electrical energy into her paws and began to levitate off the ground by using her Magnet Rise. The Earth Power erupts beneath her but is buffered by the electricity coming from her paws, the majority not reaching her anyway.
When the tremors dissipated leaving the arena floor ruined the crowd oohed at the floating Luxio who grins cockily at her shocked opponent. He recovers quickly and begins to spin rapidly with another Swords Dance boosting his attack power. Elmira charges towards the spinning bug sparks flying from her feet as she walked on the air and she Slashes Pontos with the power of the Night. Pontos grunts in pain and comes to a halt luckily not taking too much damage. Pontos grins back at the Luxio who was well within range to strike and lets loose a barrage of Rock Blast that smacks against her knocking her back. Growling and shaking off the pain from the rock barrage and rears back charging up Bug Energy before her mouth and launches the Signal Beam right at Pontos sending him rolling right back to Matthew's feet. The crowd finally settle down and applaud the efforts of both Pokemon. Kitty's mouth had dropped open at Elmira's sparkling levitating. The Luxio hadn't been the least bit phased by the rumbling ground beneath her paws. She just had to learn that kind of unbeatable confidence for her next battle!
Noriko was running attributes and numbers about Anoriths in her head. "Elmira, blind him again with Flash, then Charge and use Spark!" If nothing else, it would be a heck of a lightshow. |

Matthew flinched as his Anorith was sent recoiling through the dust, landing right by his footsteps. For what seemed the ump-teenth time he was physically forced to restrain himself from rushing on to the battle field, but deep down he knew it was in his bug-type's best interest to overcome this type of adversity; his plan hadn't worked and Anorith's instant success was now under threat, moving the Anorith from confident and cocky to the respectable fighting machine Matthew hoped these battles would prove to be.
It was certainly the way he had trained before; his Rhyhorn always had respect but as it grew into a powerhouse, Matthew knew he could not control it if the rock-Pokemon thought it could beat anyone, and it was through hard work and constant battling that the two formed a respectful bond together, the art of Zen surely playing its part in the strategic chess-game that was Pokémon battling. Back to the battle and Matthew nodded at his Anorith as it righted itself, throwing a nod over to the appreciative crowd who applauded both battlers for their dedication to applaud both sides, he too understood the need for constructive praise on good plays, however, as soon as he had Matthew began to focus once more, turning to his bug-type. “Listen up, we've not started here as well as we could have but we've still got plenty to give. The Luxio is looking confident but confidence can be shattered. Close your eyes to the flash and then Mud Sport while Luxio is charging. Finish off with an Ancient Power after it's done with the electric attack.” he said, smiling as the Anorith focused. “Go get them partner” he finished, giving his bug a cool thumbs up to reassure it. |

Round 3
The battle still was really close so early on and the crowd were being treated to a display of beautiful attacks and amazing feats such as levitating Luxio's and now they were hungry for more. With an order to Flash her opponent Elmira glows a bright white and the crowd all pull out shade to protect their eyes. The flash fills the arena and as it dies down Elmira sees with disappointment that Pontos had his eyes shut the entire time. Never mind, her next two attacks would be more than enough to damage the little bug!
She Charges up electrical energy into her fur sparkling even more boosting her special defences in the process. Pontos begins to shoot mud from his mouth whilst moving to allow the Mud Sport to cover his body. Elmira runs towards Pontos who is now a overall brown colour her extra electrical energy covering her and rams into him with her Spark. This would ordinarily cause great damage but the Mud Sport reduces the damage down. Ponto still winces from the attack but holds his ground. He charges up rock energy into an orb before his mouth and launches it at Elmira who goes flying back but her boosted defences protect her from too much pain. The crowd applaud all the different techniques being used, they were certainly enjoying the show so far. Health: 63% Energy: 56% Status: Atk + Def ++ Acc - Health: 73% Energy: 44% Status: Sp.
