NSA caught with direct access to Google, Facebook, Apple, more

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013...iants-nsa-data

Huge news. NSA has been caught red handed with direct access to a handful of company networks and data mining, a process that's been going on since 2007 under "PRISM".

Absolutely disgusted, but why am I not surprised in the least?

Not surprised at all. Funny to see the headlines of "shock and disgust".

All the more reason to speak in foreign languages and distribute false information in your private services.

Interesting that the legendary timecop made a comment on this. I wonder what he's been up to lately.

I find it highly entertaining that a country that so strongly shouts about liberty is probably the most authoritarian democracy around. What do you expect?

It's sort of like this shocking and inexplicable tendency of large multi national corporations to not pay any tax. I am deeply saddened by these unforseen and incomprehensible revelations.

In other news, people who drink and drive may turn out to be total arseholes.

I thought of you when I saw this.

I'm going to laugh when, in three weeks' time, I'm reading about how Turkey wants assurances from Germany that German intelligence isn't mass surveilling them. And then Iraq wants the same assurances from Turkey. And so on down the line.

Yeah, just kill me now. The future is here, and I don't like it.

Eh, it's a German election year, not too surprising in this case.
