It had been a while since Lucas last visited the place. The last time was with Rags by his side as they searched for the Aron he had named Izer, or Ize for short, and that was only to give his Horsea a new friend so she wouldn’t feel alone. Back then he had visited the place with purpose, a reason much different than his current one; he was just taking a walk and passing by the place. This time he didn’t have his book with him, and for some reason he had left all his Pokémon behind this time, preferring to be alone. Perhaps for the best as he wouldn’t have to deal with any of His Pokémon’s shenanigans, or his Gallade’s pestering on ethics and morality, though his presence still lingered in the back of the trainer’s mind.
The past few days had been unbearably hot, and Lucas for one was glad to be inside an air-conditioned room. Cages had been stockpiled on top of one another or beside each other, housing the Pokémon that were too dangerous to be left beside their natural prey or those too sick and in need of special treatment. Lucas was simply surveying his surroundings when he noted a particular cage between two others. The two flanking cages contained an Ekans each, coiled up in a corner as far away from the centre cage as possible. The two seemed wary of whatever it was that lurked between them and Lucas couldn’t quite tell what it was that was hiding in the shadow. He got up closer to the bars, hoping to catch a glimpse of light in the shadows. Upon getting closer, a head hurtled itself from the shadows and banged itself against the iron bars. Lucas startled backwards from his pang of panic as Pokémon in nearby cages cried and shook their containers in fear. The two other Ekans tightened their coiling , trying to make themselves as small as possible. The giant head that was pressing itself against the iron bars contained two angry slits of eyes as they stared the trainer down with malicious hunger. The Pokémon in question was an Ekans as well; purple, yellow-banded and a tail that never stopped rattling, except this Ekans was larger than the other two. Lucas pulled out his Pokédex to check on its size; Pokémon of these lengths tend to be rare and, in cases of carnivorous Pokémon like Ekans, are exceedingly vicious as well. This one in particular was of a bigger size than usual, and this somehow intrigued the trainer to put his head closer to examine the Ekans up close (while still remaining a sensible few inches away from the bars. Scars lined the face and sides of the Pokémon; battle wounds from opponents (or prey) bigger than itself. Its two dead eyes glared with stony rancour. Lucas turned his head away for a second to ask the staff about the mutant Pokémon. He pointed his finger at it and shouted a question, “He, about this Pokémon, is i…” his words were interrupted by the sudden bang of metal pins breaking and the sharp sting in his hand that came thereafter. Lucas gulped his last few words down and his ears momentarily turned deaf when hearing the panicked screaming of the staff. The Ekans’ head had bolted out of its cage, breaking the metal lock in its path, and latched itself onto the trainer’s hand. Lucas gaped with frozen panic at the snake’s icy stare as it jerked its head left and right as if it were trying to tear his fingers off. Blood oozed out of the snake’s mouth where it had broken the trainer’s skin and the Ekans wrestled the young man down until it sgiant body was on top of his. Screams of staff continued as some of them ran up close, clutching onto multiple doses of tranquilizer. The Ekans latched its mouth further up the trainer’s arm, his hand now disappearing up the snake’s jaw; but Lucas could only stare in mild shock at the Pokémon’s hypnotic stare, the two eyes that never took themselves off the trainer as it wrestled him down and tried swallowing his hand. The staff members started stabbing needles into the Pokémon’s sides. The first doses weren’t enough for a Pokémon of this side, and while the brutish jabs in the Ekans’ leathery body would have hurt, the Pokémon paid it no mind while it pursued its grip on the trainer’s bleeding arm. A few more doses did the final trick, and slowly the snake’s body dropped beside that of the trainer as its jaw unhinged itself loose. The staff did their best to lift the Pokémon’s body back into a new cage, double-securing it, and attending to Lucas’ wounds. The staff explained that the Pokémon was excessively voracious and had tried eating nearly everything it came into contact with; his enormous size resulting in his bold appetite for anything moving, a conceited confidence in his position at the top of the food-chain. The staff appeared at a loss of what to do with it. No trainer in their right mind would take care of such a creature and no Pokémon could get close to it without being bitten or worse. In all likelihood, as impressive the size of the Pokémon may have been it would have to be put down eventually if it couldn’t be tamed even slightly; restraining it, as Lucas had witnessed first-hand, did little in subduing him or his temper. Lucas gave a sly smirk at hearing this and recalled the strange gaze the Pokémon had given him. For some reason he had a sense what the Ekans was trying to do. True, it had tried to eat him, but it had tried to conquer Lucas through some other manner as well though somewhat ineffectively. Lucas wasn’t in any real danger of being eaten he reasoned. Tried as he might, the Ekans could have at worst maybe broken his wrist, but in no way could it have swallowed his hand, let alone himself entirely. This clearly was a Pokémon whose confidence and stomach were larger than its eyes or brain; and Lucas had such a Pokémon back home as well though that one preferred licking sweet candy as opposed to gulping down large chunks of flesh. The last of the bandages were applied and Lucas handed them some money. The staff refused at first, not wanting the trainer to pay for receiving first-aid but Lucas corrected their thinking; he wanted to adopt the large Ekans and take it off their hand. He heard a whisper calling him ‘fool’ or ‘idiot’ but in the end they were glad to get rid of the Pokémon, and Lucas was glad to add such a remarkable Pokémon to his roster, vicious and voracious as it may have been. (till need to proofread and edit.) Adopting the Lv.1 Male Ekans for $30 Putting it in a Rocket Ball (Size changes will be paid for by me in the Boutique if/when it's up.) |

While his pair of Arbok were busy making babies, Hyrem thought once more of the Adoption Center and recalled there were quite a few Ekans looking for homes. Perhaps one of them would make for a nice playmate for the new hatchling? Unfortunately, by the time he next visited, all of the serpents had been taken! Oh well, he figured he might as well see what else interested him while he was here.
Passing by the Girafarig pens where he adopted Janice, as well as the homes of a fair few Grass Pokemon who were relieved she had been taken by the very human who walked past them (most of which were hoping he wouldn't be interested in them and bring them back into the nightmare), he came to an aquarium that looked like it could house many Water Pokemon. He could remember there being multiple Pokemon in that tank during past visits, but now there was only one left: a colorful, round, yet menacing looking fish, colored blue on top and red on bottom and sporting yellow fins, a yellow star underneath its chin, glowering red eyes and massive jaws for its size. As he stared at the fish, it gnashed its sharp teeth at him, and he was reminded of the Basculin he encountered off the shores of Whale Island. "Cranky little beast, aren't ya?" he asked before consulting his Pokedex: Carvanha, the Savage Pokemon. When alone, this Pokemon is shy and prefers escape over battle. However, this Pokemon usually is found in large groups in major rivers that cross through tropical rain forests and is greatly emboldened by others of its kind. Anything that enters a school's territory is immediately swarmed, and once blood is drawn they are sent into a frenzy, chasing down their prey and consuming it until there is nothing left. Not even boats are safe; their jaw strength and sharp fangs can easily tear through their hulls, and an entire school can sink a large boat within minutes and a small boat within seconds, exposing any passengers to their assault. "Well, I'm not looking to get a whole group of you any time soon," he said. "One of you is plenty." Still, he thought, it might be nice to have this guy around, if only to give someone Bubbles can relate to...if she doesn't eat him first. And if I can get him out of the fish tank without getting bit. For that, he assumed, it was best to get help to ensure safety, so he went up to the front desk in order to fill out the paperwork and ask for the requisite assistance. You may not know it yet, but I think you'll like me and my team...Fizz! ***** Pokemon to Adopt: Lv. 1 Male Carvanha Payment: $30 Pokeball: (26/30) Last edited by Gemini Spark; 06-24-2017 at 05:50 PM. |

At this point they have to be questioning her, and Alice really wouldn't be blaming them. Maybe they thought she wasn't coming back, given how it had been longer than ten days, but it was a temptation she couldn't resist. There were still several Pokemon that the young woman had her eye on, and she had chosen what she felt to be the most challenging of those attractants - a Koffing.
It was easy to track the balloon down. A poison type with 'vents' like hers let off a certain smell, and although it's a slight turn off, Alice loves her perfume and she'd seen too much potential to let this one go over such petty judgements or even fears-- Koffing are toxic and dangerous, after all. However, she'd hatched a danger noodle of her own some months back (which was why Alice hadn't adopted an Ekans) and she felt a bit more comfortable with that typing now. A Poke Ball comes out, as well as the expected $30 payment. "This one, please!" Alice announced delightedly, looking to the Koffing. It couldn't adopt her back, or cling for a hug-- but she did wonder if it was cuddly. What kind of character would this mystery beast have? "If she wants to, that is. We've got a bustling home now even with Blaze and Jasper away, so you'll have plenty of friends!"

The past few nights she hasn't slept well. She found herself tossing and turning, one thought on her mind. Pink. She had seen it on her last visit. They had made eye contact, light brown to beady black. Why did she walk past it? What had compelled her to keep walking? Yes, she loved Monte with all her heart, but it had taken some searching to finally find him with the other Fighting type Pokemon. They had placed this one closer to the front. It was a popular Pokemon with women, after all. A horrifying thought: Had someone else already adopted it? "Pink." Athena approached the first volunteer she saw, her mind too tired to register that she did not actually form a complete sentence. The volunteer stared back at her, a bit taken aback by her sudden approach. Athena yawned. "Oh I mean, uh, do you know if you still have the Snubbull that was here the other day?" The volunteer, still shocked, just nodded and pointed to the room on their left. Pink! He was still there. Athena watched in awe as the small bipedal Pokemon trotted around in it's enclosure. Other canine Pokemon were playing with each other, bounding across the room and chewing on each other's ears. The Snubbull didn't seem interested in their game. Instead, he had made eye contact with the girl standing in the door. Athena's heart fluttered. It was fate, they had met again. She knelt down to the Snubbull's level, and offered him her hand to sniff. She couldn't help but let out a squeaky cry of excitement when it approvingly licked her hand. "You're so...Pink..." Athena had tears welling up in her eyes. "I can take you home, right?" The Snubbull looked like he had to think about it. The trainer produced a Pokeball from her backpack, and held it up in front of the Pokemon. Snubbull looked disgusted at the plain, red and white ball. "Oh...Wait!" Athena dug around in her bag again and pulled out a dark colored ball with a red and gold pattern. "You'll like this one. It's supposed be really comfy." She shook the ball back and forth a bit, emphasizing its sheen. The pink Pokemon contemplated once again, then gave a firm nod. "Yes! Ok! Let me just go fill out your paperwork, and then I'll come back and get you! And then we'll go and get coffee! Ok? Choux?" She looked expectantly at her new Pokemon, hoping he'd approve of the nickname choice. After a couple of slow blinks, Choux nodded. Adopting Snubbull! Paying $30 and putting him in a Luxury Ball. |

What catches Tate's eye is the final, handwritten page spat forth from the old machine, twirling and twisting in the breeze until it finally lands at Tate's feet. "May you and Makani travel together on fair winds," it says, with three signatures at the bottom. It has the official letterhead, like everything else - but somebody drew a little Hoppip floating over the official League seal. Was this really from the desk of the Elite? The paper swoops and stutters, lifted by a faint wind - no one remembers leaving the window open, but best to shut it before more papers fly everywhere. Adoption of Lv. 01 (F) Hoppip confirmed. |

Once again, Keith Masters was visiting the Adoption Center. Once again, this was with the intention of adopting one of their many Pokémon to give it a good home. And once again, almost as soon as he entered, his attention was caught by something decidedly less than usual.
"Oh, geez," Meowth groaned. "Yer gonna adopt 'em, ain't ya?" he asked Keith. Instead of answering, however, Keith kept his focus on the duo currently wrestling on the floor, a pair of arm-like beings with faces in their hands. Not far from them stood a rock with two large holes in the top. Keith had seen this kind of Pokémon before, but never in such a... dismantled state before. He took out his Pokédex and pointed it at the creature. "Binacle, the Two-Handed Pokémon. A Rock and Water-type," said Keith's Pokédex. "Binacle live in pairs on a single rock. If they fight, one of them may end up moving to a different rock." "Well, this pair certainly seems to be fighting," Keith observed, as each of the Binacle heads kept on Scratching the other, as a harried-looking Adoption Center employee tried vainly to get the situation under control. For his troubles, he received only a faceful of Sand from the Binacle's Attack. "You OK?" he added to the employee. "Gah... yeah," croaked the employee after spitting up more sand than a Hippopotas with the stomach flu. "This Binacle started getting restless- been here for weeks and nobody's adopted them yet. No idea what they're fighting over, but it happens more and more frequently, and I can never seem to stop them... and they're not gonna get anyone to adopt them by acting this way, either," he added sadly. "Ohhhh, no!" Meowth exclaimed, seeing the all-too-familiar gleam in Keith's eye. "Youse can't be tinkin-" "-about adopting the Binacle?" Keith grinned. "We're long past the point of thinking about it, Meowth." He turned to the employee. "I'll take the Binacle," he said. 'Bina?!" exclaimed both Binacle bodies simultaneously, their fighting stopping at once as they turned to look at who had just volunteered to be their Trainer. "Hi," Keith smiled, crouching down to greet the Binacle. "I'm Keith. How about I be your Trainer?" The Binacle exchanged glances, then nods. "Bina! Binacle Binacle!" they exclaimed, hopping up and down. Then, they hopped back over to the rock nearby, each Binacle body inserting itself in one of the large holes. Then, the whole thing hopped over to Keith- now this looked more like Binacle as Keith had seen them in the past! "Bina!" added one of the heads, the one on Keith's left. "Bina Binacle, bina bina Binacle!" "So accordin' ta dat guy, his name's Elliot, and his associate, da one on yer right, dat's Leroy," Meowth explained. "Collectively dey go by da name Elliott- dat's spelled wit two Ts, whereas da first guy's name, dat's only spelled wit one T. He was weirdly specific about dat," Meowth shrugged. "Weirdly specific indeed," Keith nodded. "Well, y'know what? I can roll with it," he smiled. "Nothing wrong with a little weirdness." As he spoke, he dug a Premier Ball out of his backpack, offering it to the Two-Handed Pokémon. Leroy reached out for it, only for Elliot to smack him and scold him. Then, the right hand reached out himself to tap the ball's button. The whole Binacle was pulled into the ball, and it barely wobbled before falling still. Keith smiled at the Premier Ball containing his new Binacle for a moment, then turned his attention to the Adoption Center employee, who looked stunned and relieved at the same time. "So," he said. "I guess there's the matter of payment now." OOC: Adopting the level 1 male Binacle, naming him Elliott (right hand is named Elliot, left hand is named Leroy) housing him in this Premier Ball (#2 of 5), and declaring his Ability to be Tough Claws. Oh, yeah- payment. That's a thing. 30. |

Wandering into the Adoption Centre once more, Ian glanced at the final Poke Ball he had been given by his sister at the start of the journey. Thoughts flit about in his mind about the new friends he had met in this very establishment, although it he wasn't too sure whether he could call them friends when he hadn't gotten to know them better yet. Bergamot was naturally fearful of Suzu due to their type incompatibilities, although she held no ill will towards Archimedes. To be honest, the Sigilyph really didn't do much in terms of communication, he was mainly hovering around in the wind, looking to a distant land presumably. And then Fergus really didn't do much aside from sleep and eat. Ian didn't mind, really.
Looking around, Ian's eyes fell upon an adorable puppy, a young Lillipup, snoozing in his play area while the other Pokemon played around him. Not really one to resort to using his PokeDex much, more of a technological disaster waiting to happen in Ian's hands anyway, he inquired with the employee tending to the Pokemon's food preparation about the little guy. "Hey there, I was thinking about adopting the snoozing Lillipup over there. Do you have any advice for raising him? I have a Vulpi- oh here she is right now - who usually a bit too mischievous at times..." he began, right when Suzu proceeded to leap onto his back and start gnawing on his hair. "I'd be lucky if I don't grow to become bald, but the things you do for what you love, huh." Directed to the counter, Ian presented $30 and the required documents to the employee, he could only withhold his excitement at introducing the team to a new crewmate. This final Poke Ball (5/5) from Helena would go to someone special. |

The head looked up at her and blinked meekly nodding towards it's tail. Kawaii chuckled "Don't worry, you are the boss in this relationship." The tail burped as Kawaii lead the normal type out of the cage. OoC: adopting this handsome boi $30 and putting in pokeball 05 of 10

Another day, another adoption. After her visit to get Lilith she assumed she was done with the place, sure there were loads of Pokemon that still needed good homes --- but there were also a lot of people that were more than willing to give them just that. Elka herself already had quite a few Pokemon, and each was provided with as much love as she could muster. She knew that the next wouldn't be any different, how could she not love another living creature? Especially ones that were as cute and knowledgeable as Pokemon.
She walked through the double doors of the center, same old, nothing new. The staff had come to know her face, they always greeted her and Pascal kindly when they walked through the door. One of the employees seemed particularly fond of Pascal, often giving him treats as he walked through the door. He seemed particularly fond of the strongly smelling Pokebeans, which blasted Elka's senses uncomfortably. However, Pascal seemed to like them and that was all that mattered, right? Elka had told herself that today would be different, she was just coming in order to look at what Pokemon lined the various cages. She would check out any with her Pokedex that she wasn't sure of, but nothing more. That was what she said, and Pascal was to make sure of it. However, that was until they got to the 'W' section of the cages and spotted her. She was enchanting, her very presence seemed calming as Elka and Pascal approached her cage. She let out a small 'Woo~' as Pascal sniffed at the foot of her cage, she seemed rather chipper as they eyed her. She was tranquil, peaceful, and even gave off the same vibes to Pascal and Elka. > Woobat (F) - $30Elka glanced at Pascal, he gave a brief nod --- he knew full well that his trainer had her sights set on the little creature and it was rather obvious that she wasn't going to back off and let her stay here. She summoned an employee from across the store, claiming that she would like the little creature. The employee nodded, more than familiar with the blue haired trainer at this point. "Welcome to the team Laylee!" Exclaimed Elka, patting the fluffy fur surrounding the bat's body. "Ee-vee!" Pascal echoed in response. ((I'd like to adopt this gal, putting her in a regular Pokeball and paying $30 to take her home. EDIT: Oh yeah! Calling it out now but her ability is Unaware)) Last edited by Naru; 07-04-2017 at 01:21 AM. |

"Binacle, huh?" Tate mused, over the roar of the wet-dry vacuum. Trying to get all the sand up was a hassle, and of course it'd fall upo the manager to do the dirty work no one else wanted to do. They were just volunteer labor adfter all -- the staff really wasn't obligated to do much if they didn't want to. Tate didn't know much about the species; it wasn't native to Johto, nor to Alola, and so the aspiring bird keeper hadn't bothered to commit its details to memory. Killing he power to the appliance for a moment, Tate fished a brightly colored Pokedex out of a back pocket, and pulled up the entry for Binacle. |
