Of course, I make all of these resolutions with the caveat that I have no idea what's in store for me next year...
any positive changes would be welcome.
I didn't keep any of my resolutions, but somehow things worked out at the very end of the year. Life is weird like that. I guess I should just repeat the list from last year and see if I do better this time around... yet, if there's anything I've learned from last year, it's to be open to positive change, regardless of what form it comes in. I'm cautiously optimistic for 2016. Hope y'all have a good year~

My resolution not to procrastinate, alongside like 5 other resolutions, was resolved in like December. Is that procrastination? Fuck.

Most of my "resolutions" are traditional, but ongoing aka I made them back in October and have been sticking to/adding/removing resolutions as time goes by, like some kind of homonculus made of hopes and dreams. So I won't cover those. These are my actual, New Year's resolutions.
  1. To actually use my work laptop for work only, just like I said I would (currently using it to type resolutions)
  2. To commit harder in general and go hard in the motherfuckin PAINT niggaaaaaa
  3. to eat more
  4. To successfully avoid getting a bf or gf

Oh I forgot a few resolutions I had:
  • To have some fun
  • To try to forget about all the crazy things I've done
  • To conquer all my adolescent fears
  • To do it better
  • To settle all the scores
  • To cry a little less
  • To laugh a little more
  • To find a world of happiness without the hate and fears
  • To figure out just what I'm doing here
  • To watch my weight
  • To eat a few more salads
  • To not stay up so late
  • To drink a little lemonade and not so many beers

Not too surprising tbh. My resolutions for next year are now:

- Become more level headed
- Stop procrastinating on things
- Get happier/become less negative
- Look nicer
- Try not to be obsessed with how people see me
- Build up my body so I won't be confused with branches
- Become more social
- Not fail school
- Clear out my gaming backlog
- Get TL4
- Get the Water Gym
- Field a fully sigged squad
- Live till next year

Anyone want to make bets with me as for how long I'll actually pay attention to this?

Also no longer in a relationship so there's another thing to add for this year's list xP.

For 2015:
- Improve my GPA
- Figure out what I want to do with my life/Pick a major I'll enjoy
- Get a fucking job
- Get a fucking girlfriend
- Get a car
- Get at least one tattoo
- Eat healthier/get more fit
Did pretty well in 2015 as far as resolutions go. Mental health and other problems, however, have been a whole different issue. I fell in love with Psychology this year and decided I'll pursue a career out of that. Also got a part-time job that funded my first tattoo and I've already got plans for a second one. My fitness level has been relatively the same, which isn't bad at all, but I could always improve upon what I already worked for.

For 2016:
- Improve my GPA even more
- Get more tattoos
- Get a car
- Improve physical health/get more fit
- Improve mental health
- Get a fucking girlfriend
OR
- Swing around with women like a monkey at a jungle gym

The only resolution I could ever hope to keep (I thought of it at 2:52 in the morning which makes it the only real one):

>Don't be as emotionally constipated as you have been in past years (expression-wise)

First happened I feel! Second not so much.
Well I accomplished one thing if you can consider "having nothing change" be an accomplishment.

-Make a plan to get to Japan
-Find a job that I find fulfilling or that will lead to a fulfilling job
-Translate more
-Make some actual friends nearby
-Make time for my current friends
-Use my (little) free time more wisely
-Relationships I guess???

And now ironically one of my resolutions is to give myself more meaningful Internet time lol.

Hmm. I suppose that rather than improving my focus I have gotten better at recognising what I am good at focusing on, as well as taking a few steps to limit distractions. I have found myself in a lovely relationship so that's a win.

2016:

Stop carrying so much baggage and be more proactively positive

Do more to help those less fortunate

Eat less junk, do more gym

-Learn to ride my unicycle More or less achieved this, though I still can't get up on it without holding something
-Learn to french braid my own hair Probably the easiest thing on the list but no dice >.<
-Continue to become better friends with the new friends I made last semester Absolutely :-)
I had a really good year actually. Finished my first year of college, declared my majors, had my first relationship, got into parkour, went to some awesome concerts/shows, made some great friends~

For this year:

1. Be fully able to ride my unicycle
2. Learn to french braid my own hair
3. Be able to do a wall run into a climb up
4. Learn the turtle freeze
5. Don't use the internet when I still have work to do

Just been lurking this thread and decided I'd like to set my resolutions into stone. Also may as well update on my two year old resolutions...

I didn't come out to my parents back then and still haven't >> they do sort of know, I just haven't sat down and talked to them about it. I better carry this one over to 2016.

I did have my first long term relationship in 2015 (we're almost 12 months strong) and it's been an amazing learning experience. I think it was a pretty superficial resolution though in hindsight - so all my 2016 will be more about personal development rather than external sources of happiness.

For this year

Learn Japanese at a beginner level. I made the mistake of visiting Tokyo this month with next to no Japanese speaking skills. I'm keen to do a full tour of the country in the next year or so so I want to be fully prepared.

Learn Spanish at an intimediate level. I'd also like to travel to South America in the next few years, and as I already know a fair bit of Spanish - I'd like to take this to a conversational level. If there's one thing I've learned while travelling, it's that us English can be really lazy with language, so I really don't want to be tarred with the same brush.

Learn to drive. I've been putting this off for years as there's always been a better use for my savings. I Figure now is a great time.

Get a promotion at work and/or move on to a better paying job. I'm currently on an entry level wage in my dream career, and up until now I've always been more experience than money-driven. That being said, all of my major desires (car, more travelling etc.) would hugely benefit from a comfortable wage.

Save enough money to travel again. I'm currently in my final month of a 3 month tour through South East Asia, Indonesia, Australia, Fiji and Japan. [I've blown almost two years worth of savings but all I can think about is my next trip! I don't expect I'll be travelling again by the years end, but I'd like to get saving as soon as possible.

Hrm. Didn't post here last year... or the year before... or ever... but all of those years were the same: resolution was to lose weight.

For the first time since I can remember, that's not my resolution this year.

Resolutions:
- Pass sight exams (Greek and Latin)
- Develop skills that are useful outside of academia, in case I decide to pursue other options (specifically, publishing)
- Get over [BIG BAD THING] constructively

Here's to 2016. Hopefully you don't suck hard.

Aaaaaaaand done.

I can't believe I've let this build up for so long - it literally couldn't have been easier. Brought it up and my parents couldn't have reacted it any better, no awkward questions, nothing, just hugs and happiness.

Hmm.. well, might as well take a crack at some of these this year.

-Get a job.
-Draw more (Drew four pictures this year, so this one should be easy enough).
-Keep my grades up (A's and B's *crosses fingers*).
-Keep my anxiety under control.
-Prepare for college and apply to some.
-Get a 33 or higher on my ACT.
-Get into a school out east.
-Maintain my weight if not decrease it.
-Hit TL7
-Win a Gym Match

We'll see how this goes, I suppose.

I'm trying to get away from new year resolutions but I got so much stuff I should take care of I think it would be a good idea to set some goals anyways.
  • Save enough money to get a mortgage on a house (work already in progress)
  • Learn and continue to learn Japanese (work already in progress)
  • Finish reading some books
  • Become better at my job in general (ex. hone bug-finding/destructive testing skills)
  • Make and complete cosplay before local con starts (in August)
  • Find a way to get my mood/emotion problem under control (despite being caused by PCOS/prescription/hormonal issues; psychiatrist may still be of help tho)
  • Lose some weight by exercising (perhaps by going to the gym, but I don't wanna be one of those people that gets a membership then gives up on the way through...)
  • Complete a few game playthroughs, including Pokémon Moon and Bravely Default
