I've been using Starmie @ Recover, Surf, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt as well as Psychic, Surf, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam since before
And Kind, you nailed it. I really dislike Donphan's aesthetic, his boring typing, and his boring movepool. At least Mamoswine looks

Again, Talon reads something that isn't there in my post. I never called you a Smogwhore. I know that Starmie has had those sets since Smogon was never though of. Seriously, you act like I don't know anything.
Mamoswine is cool, but I don't get Superpower. Exactly what are you hitting with it that Icicle Crash and Earthquake aren't? If you only have Ice Shard, which is a possibility, then I guess Skarmory, but it will win because of the drops. IDK, it must just be because of your team. You have Mamoswine and Starmie and whoever else for Skarmory, I have my pokes. No biggie, just some curiosity.

Blaze, one of the reasons that Donphan is used in OU is because Ice Shard can cheaply take out a lot of 4x weak threats, in addition to what you said about its nice qualities as a Rapid Spinner. What exactly do you have instead of Ice Shard, just out of curiosity? My only guess is a defensive tank, but other stuff can do that better IMO.

I have Toxic. And most defensive tanks are weak to fire already.

Me vs. Blaze
Saw each other on PS! today for the first time. And... Spoiler: show A pretty evenly played game on both sides. Team matchup was pretty much the deciding factor in this one, though.

What was with all the flinches? I know Serene Grace but still it happened like 5-6 times in a row.

You underestimate the haxiness of Jirachi. 5-6 times in a row is nothing.

Yeah me too. I'm Takkupanda on PO as well. I used to be able to connect earlier, but I somehow can't nowadays.

I went ahead and made Kairne a channel owner. I couldn't Celebii because his account isn't registered. And I didn't even see Takkupanda online.

This thread needs a bit more love. Started playing RU recently, and this has been by far the best I've played in any battle. Always nice to see all six of your opponent's Pokemon KO'd while your sweeper goes untouched.

Okay, so taking phoopes' advice, I decided to give showdown a try and this is my first UU battle on showdown (I won 6-0 using only 2 of my Pokemon and my rating rose from 1000 to 1270)
http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/uususpecttest4802175 And then I later won my first RU battle and my rating rose from 1000 to 1359. I find it kinda weird how the rating system works.

The rating system is a little weird, but generally, it is pretty fair.
That battle was weird. No Leaf Storm or Thunder Wave? This was a pretty noobish player. imho

Yeah, the rating system is different than PO's. It uses the Glicko2 system, which is kind of hard to explain. Basically, the more you play the less points you will gain if you win, and the less points you will lose if you lose. Now, even if you go out and win your first five games, it's kind of balanced because there's a deviation number to go along with your score. For example, I'm pretty sure you need to get your deviation number under 100 before you can appear on the ladder, which takes quite a few battles IIRC. So, with all that said, usually the top spot on the ladder is a bit over 2000 points, with the deviation depending on how much they've played. The ACRE column might look like the most important, but it pretty much means nothing. The Glicko2 column really determines your rating; the ACRE column just tends to go up with a higher Glicko2 as well.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, if a good player is inactive for a while and has ladder decay, the system will try to catch them up to where they were, gaining points even if they lose a battle occasionally.

Also been doing RU. My team is pretty good, though there are 4 or so 'mons that give me a lot of trouble, 3 of which are on my opponent's team in this match XD. This is the best battle I've had in a while. Take a look.

Rough break for Team Lilligant. Frankly astonished that Night Slash (70 physical power) only did 38% damage but then Sucker Punch (80 physical power) magically did 62%+ without a critical hit.

Yeah, it was a pretty miraculous 'suddenly all the stars align' deal at the end there.

Best OU battle I've had in awhile, against a friend from Serebii. Really well played on both sides, and it came down to the wire.
