Both of these are true, though I greatly encourage all artists to participate. Even if you can't go to the con, you can always give it to one of the people that want to go and money is an issue.

If only the show were as cool as that trailer makes it seem. In before every single last one of you says "But Talon, it is! " No, it's not. It's still a good show though. But good lord is that an amazing trailer. You show that to just about anybody and two things will happen:

I dunno. Any sane individual who sees this trailer wouldn't expect a show called "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" to be like that all the time. If it gets people to watch it, then they'll learn to like the rest of the show as well.

Like I said: torn. I'm not ruling that possibility out. I'm just not ruling the less happy possibility out either. I don't think anyone can claim to know which way it'll go in most cases until we actually have the data, i.e. until an arbitrarily large number of people are shown the trailer first and then asked to watch the show. And in the event that people were to watch the show and find it disappointing, the odds that they'd report this on YouTube or a pony imageboard or webforum are slim to none. So we may never know.

So ... yeah, I'm torn.

But good God was that a good trailer to watch. Made the show I watched suddenly taste like plain bran flakes by comparison. "I wish my MLP:FiM were like this! " ^^;;;;; The real deal's still good, but major props to this guy for taking all of the right dialogue and visuals and arranging them in just such a manner as to make this seem Lord of the Rings epic.

Talon's reasoning was mine exactly when I saw that when it first came out. It's really amazing, but it's over the top for what the show is.

@Tyranidos: Cool? COOL? That's AWESOME! Though I think if you showed that to somebody who'd never seen the show, they'd be a bit let down once they actually started watching it. Then again, it's my opinion that you do not by any means show a newbie the first two episodes, but instead pick a couple that will get them hooked. For me it was episode where Pinkie went crazy/emo. XD

Actually, the story of how we met goes back quite a bit and is fairly convoluted. Perhaps if you remind me I'll tell ya sometime. When I've got time, that is. ;P I promise I'm not trolling -- it is a very complicated story!
