Victini Online Competitive Pokemon Battle Showdown Happy Fun Times

Since discussions on competitive battling are clogging up the TO.

Discuss on competitive battling, Pokemon sets, arrangements for P-O battles, complain about bans, etc.

Pretty much anything that has to do with competitive battling.

Enjoy!

252 Atk Life Orb Blaziken (+Atk) Hi Jump Kick vs 252 HP/0 Def Azumarill: 85.4% - 100.5% (6.25% chance to OHKO)

252 Atk Huge Power Azumarill (+Atk) Waterfall vs 4 HP/0 Def Blaziken: 141.06% - 166.89% (Guaranteed OHKO)

If you're running Jolly, Azumarill wins 100% of the time. If you're running Adamant, Azumarill still wins 93.75% of the time. I'll take my chances.

But, by the time you switch Azumarill in...its most likely that you

a) Have eaten an attack already

or

b) Blaziken has used Swords Dance

So.....unless you call it and Blaziken uses Protect, your chances of countering him are nil.

And....which ability are you using? I find it hard that unless it has Choice Band that Azumarill is going to much even with Waterfall.

Whoops. I meant to put 4 in for Speed. But yeah, that was my Blaziken counter back when it was allowed. Tried and true, worked better at stopping and killing it better than anything else I found.

In case it gets deleted prematurely, I'm going to go ahead and leave the current tally here:

Y = Yuki

Pretty sure people have signed in and not left their name behind but w/e. ^^; The purpose of the experiment was for me (well, for anybody, but mostly for me ) to gauge how often I was signing in relative to others since I feel like I don't sign in very often, maybe once every two weeks or so. But according to this, I sign in at least as often as people who remember to update the topic also sign in.

When we hit 20, feel free to change the topics freely again. But be sure before you do that to copy over the final list here. Thanks.

Yeah, it was a very rough experiment and I don't expect the results to be nearly what they would seem to indicate ("TALON SIGNS ON MORE THAN *ANYBODY!*"). I definitely added my name every time I signed in though, so that'd be ... all five times? Counting tonight. No idea when we started it but it had to have been at least a month ago and probably longer.

Yeah, I signed in twice in the past few days. Didn't know I was supposed to add a name or anything though. Sorry!

Wow... how could I have missed that? Yeah, Slowbro with Eviolite is actually the vastly superior counter to Blaziken here. I have been bested, haha.

Slowbro with Eviolite? Pretty sure that wouldn't do shit for a fully-evolved Pokemon, no?

Wait, I thought Slowbro evolved into Slowking after you traded it with a King's Rock? I've never used Slowbro before while battling, nor have I seen it that often. I just always assumed that you'd use Eviolite because it evolves into Slowking.

However, you're probably right in that Slowpoke evolves into Slowking. I really am having a bad night at this, aren't I?

Oh, shoot, we were supposed to put our name in every time we logged in?

I only did it twice, since I though we were just supposed to do it once each.

No worries, no worries. I couldn't write out the full rules since it'd make the greeting message obnoxiously long. I just had to trust that people would figure it out and that the people I explained the system to would be there to explain it to others. Guess that didn't happen though. ^_^;

Oh. I'm "Perseus Dash Jackson". Guess I'll put my name when I sign in.

P.S All your "Blaziken counters" are forgetting two things. 1) Sun and 2) Guaranteed Swords Dance while you switch.

Do the calcs. I'll wait.

'geet, stop assuming sun. Politoed, T-Tar, Hippowdon and (lol) Abomnasnow still exist.

Besides, obviously you don't switch straight to your counter- every player ever is gonna see that coming half a country away.

Thank you for proving you need a completely different playstyle to counter ONE pokemon. Can we agree now why Blaziken is OP?
