Musical Production/Performance
Because I hear we like music here on UPN, I created this thread! It's not much, but it shall suffice.
I play the piano and currently take AP Music Theory, which is teaching me how to compose. I consider myself an Advanced player, who is adept at technique and possesses a modestly large repertoire of popular and classical music. DISCUSS!

I'm currently writing a song in FL Studio but am having great difficulty with which direction I want to take it. I made the grave mistake of making a melody before a rhythm and now I'm screwed...
Here's the only complete song I've made through a DAW so far (medium was Reaper, back before I had FLS), although most UPNers have already seen it I play: Guitar, Piano/Synth, trying to learn viola, fuck around with VSTs in FL. I also try to sing but fail horribly, so a vocoder or autotuning is usually needed, though I like to stay instrumental. [](/ppshrug) Last edited by deoxys; 02-19-2012 at 01:08 AM. |

I am a decent musician and an accomplished composer. I have conducted an orchestra performing one of my pieces during a live performance.
I am legitimately saving up money right now so I can afford to live on my own and work under as an apprentice to a composer some where, and learn the trade so I can spend the rest of my life as a composer. AMA |

Composed and conducted? I'm jelly
Went to guitar center recently and saw a Motif XL for $3000, would absolutely love to have it some day.... >AMA I knew a girl in high school who claims she lost her innocence to you and you never called her back. What do you have to say about that? |

She didn't make me bacon and pancakes in the morning. nuff said.
Also since I forgot to mention it, my first instrument was Clarinet, since then I've expanded to my new main instrument(bass; upright and guitar), saxophone, guitar, and piano, but I am decent on most instruments. Also, the first time you conduct an orchestra in concert, at least for me, was pretty overwhelming. Nothing like rehearsals. X_X Totally worth the applause though In addition to the piece I conducted, I've performed a bunch of other original compositions in small ensembles... I've got my name on like, 5 program notes |

Kudos Tuner, that's really cool.
I play Bass Clarinet and Bb and Eb Contrabass Clarinet at a senior collegiate level, and Bb Soprano Clarinet and Euphonium/Baritone at a freshman/sophomore college level. I have played Trombone and Oboe (and could probably do so at a high school level within a few hours. I used to play piano but don't anymore ;; |

Bass Clarinet is my favorite clarinet =) Used to play it in a youth symphony
Additionally; if any one tells you to play alto clarinet... Don't. |
