This is probably a bit of a silly question - but in the event that I am allowed to participate should I put up a poll as to which design to use for UPC? (That said, with what the mods have on their plate of late it's possible that UPC might be delayed like it was during 2008. Delayed, that is.)

My PS2 memory card died earlier. It corrupted a game save, and on attemping to delete said save, failed and ended up having no space available and no data.

Sometimes I question why the fuck I still live in this world when everything that gives me reason to be happy ceases to be.

If you think of it being as though the entire card had died to begin with, then it's not quite as bad. Might cheer you up a tiny, tiny bit.

Sony's proprietary memory cards for the PS2 sure are nonsense though. I wish stores sold PS2-compatible cards from 3rd parties that only cost like $10 and could store gigs' worth of data.

As for the "why live if nothing lasts forever?" attitude, I wonder if reading about Buddhism's take on impermanence would do you good ... or do you more harm. ^^; The opening verse to one of my favorite stories:

Nothing lasts forever, not even PS2 save files. But it doesn't mean that life isn't worth living. For the transience of good things works both ways: while you can't keep good things forever, neither do you go through life without ever again having new and wondrous treasures coming to you.

A little dismayed no one gave me a head's up but ultimately it's my own fault for simply blanking on it. I'm hopeful I can still post but I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. Sucks though considering Heart Scales are otherwise impossible to get and even coin income has 100% dried up since the Casino de facto vanished a month ago.

Yeah, I would advise against trying to post. That's what drove me out of FB two years ago when I posted a day late, explaining that I'd been out of town for my Birthday with no internet access, and checked back a week later to find my post deleted and no word from a mod. Just gotta hope I'm at home for it this year.

I don't intend to post without any approval ahead of time from a staff member. I'm not going to muscle my way past the rules. I just wish a little leniency would be allowed. Only one hour late, not one day or one week late.

In the end though, it's more about the principal of the matter than the items themselves. One Mysterious Gummi isn't going to kill me. One Heart Scale isn't going to kill me. A couple of candies aren't going to kill me. They don't make or break any of the RP posts I have planned for myself or for others. All I really ask of FB is to give me a reasonable platform with which to RP that which I want to RP. Failing to collect the birthday gifts does not jeopardize any of that, so I'm not too fussed. Disappointed I forgot, and disappointed that I'll probably be told "Sorry, rules is rules :\", but not too fussed.

Also, how I spent my Sunday instead wasn't really a waste of time either. Teaching a friend about Cinccinos. Sharing Heike Monogatari quotes with seakittenyfool. Replying to Kaisa and PikaGod's enthusiastic thoughts on the best "Battle Royale meets Pinocchio" story ever. Watching some good television episodes. And helping one determined UPNer fulfill his dream of learning a foreign language. I'm pleased with this Sunday. Missing out on the FB birthday gifts, I can deal with. Just crossing my fingers that I won't have to and that that, too, will have a happy ending. :x

My profile still seems to be on the first page. I never use that forum to access it, though- got it bookmarked, plus the banner in my sig links to it.

It's not surprising that I'm hardly the only SPPf'er to have their FB bio at UPN, really- the character limit for posts at Serebii? Even if I took out the detailed bio information on all my Pokémon, I would not be able to fit all the relevant information on my Pokémon into a single post over there. I dunno if UPN even has a character limit for posts, but if there is one, it is astronomically high.

I actually find the closing of the registration sad. I mean, my sis came to register to play FB during her summer vacation, and now that they're closed for Arceus-knows-when... ;-;

Edit: Don't get me wrong though. I understand perfectly the reason behind the closing. I just find it was bad timing :/

Arc does say that those that have signed up correctly will still get their test, and your sister signed up with all the things there. So she'll be fine. The world will just be a bit chaotic, that's all.

I know she'll receive her test eventually, but how I read it though, she'll only get it when the changes are done and the registration thread is reopen...

Tests for those who have applied here correctly will be sent as soon as these changes are completed and registration will re-open again.

...which could take awhile, and my sister may have not the time to play in FB much or even not at all before school starts again :/ Like I said, I understand completely why it is closed for the time being (I actually agree with that action) and although I admittedly may sound like it, I am not complaining; I'm just sad that a case of bad timing related with when my sister joined and summer vacation in general and all happened.
