I wanted to make the thread as general as possible, but I created it only because I have a very specific news story I wanted to share which I just came across.
The BBC asks, "How tall can a Lego tower get?" And they approach answering the first question by asking a related second question: "How much load can a Lego brick withstand before it is destroyed?" The answer may surprise you.

Hi! Just popping in to tell you that it's 'Lego' and that the plural of Lego brick is Lego bricks.

Also: one community's discussion about this. Sounds like it could be a regional thing. Btw, if the thread title bothers people that badly (particularly any Danes we might have? ^^; ), by all means PM staff to change it. I don't mind.

But can change thread title if people want. *shrug* Coincidentally but kinda off-topic, I came across this song/music video today. (I recommend watching the whole thing.)

People actually say Legos? Everyone I've ever known as only said Lego as both singular and plural. Granted I'm Australian, so it could be a regional thing, but Legos sounds like when your parents are trying to be hip and cool but fail miserably.
Anyways, I have very fond memories of Lego. I would spend hours making houses, ships, and entire environments and would then play with my Yowie toys in them. Do they still sell generic groups, or are they all specific brand sets now? Cause I only ever see things like Star Wars sets and stuff like that.

Apparently it's just you guys. A few Aussies and Canadians on that board say 'Lego' as a plural too. On-topic, I have so much Lego in the roof. Just... boxes of it. And K'nex, too. |

I've never had many Legos as a kid to be honest. I had more Hot wheels cars than Legos. I was never exactly the best builder either.
But Lincoln Logs were awesome. I loved Lincoln Logs.

I used to say Legos, but it just sounds so awkward. I blame societal norms.
Damn those norms. |

Lego my eggo.
I never really liked Legos that much. They're okay. I went to Legoland as a kid though, that was fun. |

Legos are by far my favorite toys as a child. I think I played with them all the way up until the beginning of High School.
Want to have a car race? Build a set of cars! Want to have a giant robot war? Build some giant robots! Fly around in a helicopter? Built that! Whatever toy you wanted, it basically was. Except soft plush stuff. Legos weren't soft. They're HARD. |
