"Man With Golden Voice" Job Offer Falls Through
Americans love a turn-around story, but it looks like it just didn't pan out for Ted Williams. Apparently the "man with the golden voice" is (still!?) in rehab right now for both drug and alcohol abuse. Also, the Cleveland Cavaliers have revoked their job offer to Williams from January earlier this year, citing on May 7, 2011:

I very much wanted to believe in that happy ending, but the real world is rarely so storybook. We all were quite optimistic with the homeless guy said he had kicked his drug addiction - that's really the major obstacle such a man had to overcome. Even without his golden voice, he wouldn't be homeless if he truly sought a better life and didn't have such vices to hold him back. The sad fate, I presume, is he like so many others with talent (like musicians) got good money but lacked the maturity to manage it properly. And that's why he's on the street again.
Tragic, even moreso than what I originally thought you post was about ("Man With Golden Voice" Dies). Too bad.

I had a feeling that would happen. Actually, most of the people I talked to about this when it became big thought it would happen. It really is a shame though because I'm sure there are other people, who are homeless, that actually have the maturity for such an offer who will never get that chance now. :/
