Past the Cable Club doors a young man walked over to the spot he had arranged to meet with Matthew, a veteran trainer he had been in contact for several weeks in order to trade with. But when Ethan had arrived he found out that he was an hour early. Deciding this to be a perfect opportunity to catch up on some Z's he sat on a bench and closed his eyes, his mind quickly entering a dream state.
-- In his mind he dreamt about when he was much younger, a child of 8 with a different perspective in life, happy and innocent, ignorant to how the ugly the world was in reality. The dream would shift and come in bits and pieces showing the young boy playing in a temple's garden with a brown and white fox Pokemon, Eevee. A Pokemon his father had given to him on his 8th birthday. The temple was a regular tourist attraction to many, being one of Fuschia City few temples to still be around. And home to a group of individuals that were skilled in the art of capture. "Come on Eevee, let's play hide and seek, you hide! I seek!" the boy exclaimed with a squeaky and soft toned voice. Closing his eyes the boy counted to ten, "1...2...3..." while his Eevee hid, "7...8...9..10! ready or not here I come!" he yelled. The day quickly fled and soon the light had began to vanish with no sign of where the boy's Eevee had gone. "Eevee! Oh, Eevee!" the boy cried out with no responds, saddened the boy went inside to see if his father could of known anything of where his pet had gone. Walking through the halls he walked with his head hung low, until he noticed his father talking to a traveling trainer probably looking to learn anything on the art of capture. "Dad I-" what he found when he got there was his Eevee sleeping soundlessly, peacefully next to the man's leg, the boy ran to his friend "Eevee!" picking him up and cuddling the half asleep fox, before sneezing due to it's fur tickling his nose. "Ethan!" his father said sternly, "Don't be rude, and greet our guest." "Right. Sorry, hi..." The trainers face was unseen, to this day Ethan could not remember what the man looked like and so in his mind a shadow was cast over it. "Don't worry about it." The traveling trainer said, "I was just talking to your father about trading me that Eevee. I offered him everything I had but refused because it wasn't for him to decide." As the man spoke the boy backed up a bit, a feeling of uneasy plunged inside his stomach as the traveling trainer's breath reeked of iron. "He told me it was yours. Would you trade it to me? I can offer you a Kingler, or maybe even a Starmie, what about..?" he went down the list until finally the boy had enough, "NO!" To the man's surprise the traveler composed himself but it was obvious he wasn't happy about being told 'no' by a small child. "Well then- I'm sorry to have taken up your time." the trainer said before turning and leaving. Holding his Eevee close, the boy whispered to it, "I'll never trade you." That's when everything went blank, and the dream shifted to a dark room with people yelling, lit torches in their hands running around the temple, and a giant bell being rung. "Anyone see where he went?!" someone yelled. "Is anyone hurt?!" said another. "Was anything damaged or stolen?!" The dream shifted once again to a young boy in his PJ's crying, "Ethan, are you okay?, ETHAN!" his father yelled breaking down the door of his bedroom to find he's small boy who was clenching the stuffed toy his Eevee played with, someone had stolen his friend... It was then at an early age, that Ethan learned if someone wants something badly enough, good or bad they will do anything to achieve it. -- The trainer woke up with a start, his eyes blood red and tears running down his cheek. When he rubbed them he could see that the trainer he was here to meet had been the one to wake him. "I'm sorry," the young man said standing to shake his hand, "You must be Matthew, it's nice to meet you, I'm Ethan. The Nidoran I was able to acquire for you has been waiting patiently to meet his new trainer, I hope you take good care of him." he said smiling before presenting him a red and white poke ball. The other man did the same and they both exchanged a capsule containing a Pokemon they both have been wanting, "Thank you," the man said throwing it high in the air before dispersing an Eevee, "Vee!" The young man picked it up in his arms and introduced himself, "Hi, I'm Ethan and I'm your new trainer, say...you ever play a game of hide and seek?" he smiled before saying goodbye and walking away. Ooc:Trading my Lv. 1 Nidoran♂ with EMs Sucker Punch and Beat Up to Treep. for his Lv.1 Male Eevee, thanks and enjoy. --Trade Started-- Also trading back my Insect Plate to Lilblue. for her 1 candy. A dragons tooth in a mortals hand, To kill, to maim, to divide the land, Rhyperior, Nidoking, Steelix and more, The sound of ground rings the chime of war, Thus the prophecy speaks its name, The final piece of the puzzle still to attain. Mud-lined snow adorned the Fizzy Bubbles countryside as Matthew made his way through the city center for the second time in as many weeks; the scenery of vast changes differing greatly from just the previous visit. Gone had the merry abandonment of children to be replaced with a desolate nothingness, the stillness in the air representative of the seasonal shift. New Years had come and gone and so too had the freewill which accompanied it, ushering in a new time of hard work, resolutions and a sense of wonderment to what 2014 held. For Matthew Brown, Pokémon trainer of the region, his 2014 was still yet to be decided, he yearned for adventure and he could feel the restlessness of his Pokémon did too; such little ones he had to escort into the adults they showed the promised to become, as he had done with many before him. Many trainers wrought this interval through the steeling resolve of adventure and the battles that came with it, the harshness of reality showing greatly in the actions of others, molding Pokémon's views, opinions and behaviors. Moral codes were implanted onto them by their trainers, and adventure evolved their scope and character far more than anything Matthew had come about. Yes, perhaps a sense of excitement filled Matthew's future. He was preparing to move base to accommodate the new Pokémon he had recently acquired, the fossil Pokémon trainer expanding his previously small-kept team with a troublesome Mankey, a joyous Tangela and now another which he was scheduled to meet. He was, however, parting with a Pokémon he had hatched; a small Eevee who's cuteness knew no bounds, tempting the trainer with every waking moment to keep it. He had considered making it an Espeon, or a Flareon and incorporating it into his team, but he had forced others down the same route, only to release them further down the line. Convincing himself this was for the better, the trainer marched on through the town. A black and white Pokéball rumbled on his belt as a Rhyperior shook with a surprising convulsion. As Matthew's starting Pokémon, the two had an innate sense of connection, Rhyperior seemed to feel the trainer's moral dilemma and while it could not make the decision for him, the sentient being could at least be by his side. Crim, too, was around; although the Zigzagoon preferred to be on foot, casing the seemingly-empty buildings for a treasure or too he could report back to Team Pocket with, zigging in and out of stealthy maneuvers to look through letter boxes and windows for anything shiny. If he stole it and it turned out to be a dud, he had lost nothing but time and for the young criminal mastermind, it seemed he had plenty of that. Matthew had gotten used to the sight of loosing the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon, though he often found himself darting his eyes from one side of the street to another as a stripe flashed across his vision. For some reason other than being his trainer, Crim always seemed to return to the veteran trainer. Perhaps it was the protection of the powerful Pokémon Matthew kept in his arsenal, perhaps the large base and wealth of coin or perhaps it was a sense of familiarity among the ever-changing criminal underbelly, but whatever it was Matthew was happy for it. He whistled high-pitch noise as he neared the fabled Cable Club, signaling for the Zigzagoon to return, which it did, curling around his neck like a fuax fur scarf, but not before dropping something heavy, and presumably hot, into Matthew's backpack. He appreciated the company, and the warm comfort, and by this time had become tired of fishing out worthless objects, scalding the Pokémon, attemtping to find out who it belong to only to have them turn round and tell him it was a piece of junk and his Zigzagoon could keep it. As long as he didn't get into trouble for it, Crim's actions had basically become a no see no know game. The world is filled with shades of grey A familiar hiss of pnematic doors greeted the trainer, Matthew noticing a set of new doors swishing open to greet him; these ones much more re-enforced and shiny compared to the old grungy ones. He wondered if the staff had got them replaced, and who performed such fine craftsmanship, though he though he best not ask when, upon further inspection, he found what looked like a quarter of a bulls horns embedded into the stonework beside it. Letting it go, Matthew entered Cable Club to find Ethan, the trainer he was commencing the trade with, fast asleep on a bench. Announcing his presence with a cough, the trainer noticed his counter-part with a stream of tears running down his cheeks; his eyes a bloodshot red as he opened them. Matthew backed up a few steps, placing a hand over his Pokéballs as he became slightly alarmed. This was certainly not the behavouir he expected from a trainer who was getting the better out of this deal, Eevee's rareness alone should have meant the trade went down with more than a wide smile. Ethan began to wipe his cheeks as Matthew questioned the trade in his mind; conceiving this might not have been the right trainer for Eevee to part to, the pangs of guilt and responsibility lying heavily with the original trainer and hatcher of the normal-type. Making idle chit-chat as he assessed the situation, Matthew finally settled on Ethan as being an acceptable owner for the Pokémon, shaking his hand as he found out about the latest adventures his compatriot had been on. He consoled his soul that he had caught Ethan at a bad time, most everyone in Fizzy Bubbles had a moment of weakness in their past, and those who don't will soon find one in adventure, and looking back on decisions made can often bring up old, more powerful memories and emotions through the cruel mistress of regret. Exchanging capsules after hearing how the Nidoran, now about to be thrice traded had been waiting patiently for him, he pondered about its character. Perhaps, like very few in his party, Nidoran was one to preserve and assess before making a move. Smiling, Matthew noticed that Ethan had already opened the Pokéball up and begun to suggest a game of hide and seek with the Eevee, loosing his concerns over the crying incident earlier. Deciding to follow suit, Matthew flicked his wrist and released the poison-type inside, slightly bowing and tipping his head. “Welcome to the team Nidoran, this is Crim ….” He motioned to the Zigzagoon resting on his shoulders, but upon first glance, he noticed a distinct lack of Pokémon. Turning his head to the most obvious place, he found Crim clung on to the back of Ethan's backpack, stealthy making his way up the unaware trainers back. “Get down from there” Matthew hissed behind closed teeth in an assertive quiet whisper, the trainer ahead of him to overfilled with joy and games to notice a small normal-type attempting to steal from his backpack “Now!” Crim complied as Nidoran twitched its ears, then its nose before letting out a high-pitched short squeal, taking off at tremendous speed to run at Matthew, tackling the Team Rocket Pokéball from his belt and onto the floor, releasing a Rhyperior onto the Cable Club floor with a tremendous roar. Matthew was thrown backwards onto the floor onto a sitting position at the tackles connection, staring wide eyed as the rock-type towered Nidoran in a fighting stance. Matthew blinked, his eyebrows raised high as he stared at such an unbelievable scene; here a Nidoran randomly attacked a Rhyperior …. and stood in font of it without fear. … suddenly it clicked for the Pokémon trainer. Crim's hat, the Team Rocket Pokéball Rhyperior was housed in. It all made sense. Throwing himself into the middle, Matthew put two palms out to restore order “WAIT” he shouted. The Rhyperior faltered as he began to address the Nidoran “I know what you think, but that is not the case. We are enemies of Team Rocket, not part of it. Rhyperior's original Pokéball was smashed when we faced Team Rocket in the war and I was forced to relocate him; it is a constant reminder of our duty to stop Team Rocket whenever we can” The Nidoran began to ease up as Rhyperior puffed itself up at the mention of its accolades against the Team Rocket scourge, posing like a Mr Olympia contestant. “Crim is no member either. He is a thief, sure, but of another unfortunate similarly named project with no links to any aspect of Team Rocket.” he continued as he pointed to a small shelled Togepi “Sol here even blew up a Team Rocket cargo ship with a Hyper Beam” The Nidoran's nose twitched, tilting its head as Matthew sat down and recounted the adventures he had encountered Team Rocket as the two bonded over their hatred for the organisation. After about an hour of, if slightly exaggerated, stories Matthew found himself right next to the poison type who had been drawn in ever closer with each edge-of-the-seat tensional moment he narrated. “Perhaps …. you and I could make our own adventures?” he asked with a pause “Team Rocket grows ever-stronger if not for the intervention of teams like ours” “Nido” The Nidoran thought for a while, but eventually let out a cry as he bound into the arms of the trainer as he stood up to leave, smiling... OoC: Trading Level 1 Male Eevee to Electric Blue Eye for a Level 1 Male Nidoran with Egg Moves Sucker Punch and Beat Up. Take care of Eevee, I'll be watching. *trade closed* |

When Jeri heard that a Kecleon had appeared in the land of Fizzy Bubbles, his interest was immediately piqued. Such a Pokémon, one that he regarded as rather common, turned out to be surprisingly rare in these parts. The moment he became privy to this, he jumped on the opportunity to find a companion for Ai, the shiny Kecleon left to him by his now-missing friend, Tetsu. After a good deal of waiting and negotiation, Jeri managed to negotiate a trade for the Kecleon. He got to the Cable Club well before the designated time, accompanied by Ai and his trusty Snorunt, Snowy. The Cable Club was rather quiet, having agreed upon the trade in the late in the day when most trainers have already left for the day.
"Are you excited, Ai?" Jeri asked the timid Kecleon following him closely, "I found you another Kecleon to keep you company." The chameleon gave an uncertain nod, appearing a bit nervous. "Don't worry, dear, you'll still be the number one." Jeri patted her head reassuringly. "Oh, hey, I think that's the guy." Jeri spotted a young man across the club thumbing a Pokéball, waiting for Jeri to conduct the trade. He waved at Jeri, who eagerly made his way over to the nearby trading station at which he was waiting. Jeri introduced himself in person, shaking the boy's hand. They began the trade, and after a quick transfer of candies between accounts, the ball registered under Jeri's name, warping across the machine to the other conduit. Jeri plucked the ball from the machine, turning it over in his palm before pressing the button and releasing the mechanism. From the burst of light, a Kecleon materialized... "Jeri?" "Koi?" "Sis?" Ai cocked her head. The Kecleon ran up to her, leaping at her with arms wide and embracing her in a bear hug. The shiny Kecleon stood there, dumbfounded. "I found you, finally!" "You know her?" "She's my sister! I thought I told you about this." "Yeah, but I didn't realize this was her." "I mean, come on, Jeri. Shiny female Kecleon. The chances are pretty good." "I, well- fair enough. But how the hell did you get here?" "Let's just say there's a lonely Bidoof out there wandering around out there." "Koi!" "It's fine, it's fine!" Jeri sighed. "I guess I'm just glad to see you. I can't say it was what I was expecting..." "Yeah, yeah, let's go. I wanna get adventurin'! Come on, sis!" Koi dragged the bewildered Ai through the doors, Jeri trailing behind. "Wait for me!" ~*~*~ Trading 5 Candies for uhhhhh's Male Kecleon! Thanks so much. |
