Well, even SPPF has a 420p height restriction. Just FYI.

Is mine too big? I always felt it was a reasonable size, hence why I removed my Steam Card (because it made it too large), and I usually hide it in small posts.

Bumping because it seems that the issue has been raised once again.

Throwing in my 2˘, I'll say that if your signature is pissing people off rather than delighting or intriguing them, then it's probably not doing a good job. If I place a sample of a film or a television series in my signature, it's usually because I want to advertise that film or TV series to others. If I place a sample of a particular artist's work in my signature, the goal is to positively inform others of this artist's existence, not to negatively drive a wedge between them and the rest of the artist's portfolio. If I place hyperlinks in my signature, it is because I want people to click on them, not irritatedly scroll right past them as they make to find the beginning of the next post in the thread. A good signature fosters a positive response in your audience.

On the other hand, signatures are vehicles for self-expression. They allow us to advertise who we are and what we care about even if that doesn't always please all parties. In fact, there's something to be said for not being able to please everybody. Someone who loathes anime may hate most of my sigs, for example. Does that mean that I should strive 100% for crowd-pleasing conformity? No. I'm just saying that, practically by definition, a sig which pleases both you and others trumps one which pleases only yourself.

To anyone who finds a particular signature picture or avatar gross, offensive, or just plain bad: you can block images via certain web browser add-ons. For instance, I take advantage of a feature of either NoScript or AdBlock (can't remember which and am currently posting from phone); this feature allows me to selectively block specific images, including specific avatars or sigs on UPN. This way I can block images which I personally find disagreeable without encroaching on the freedom of expression of others. It's something you all should look into if specific images in specific sigs or avatars are getting on your nerves.

My laptop is at 1366 x 768 and if your signature is larger than my Mozilla window then that's way way way too large.

My signature is different now than it was then, but it's due for another change anyway.

Also just gonna say it. Rangeet, I hate your signature with a burning passion.

So you're saying we can block Talon's avatar of Flannery skimpiness? ;)

Now that it's pointed out, it's obviously Flannery, but before I just assumed you pulled it from one of the infinite animé chick websites. Also I haven't watched that episode in years.

Well, to be honest, I think most people who were around in SI's day know how to adblock avatars. =3=
