Beginner Trainer Battle: poketim2 vs. Kaisap112

The Icy Wastelands had surely seen a lot of action recently but you wouldn't be able to tell. What footprints in the snow had been left or remnants of battle had been blown away by the frequent blizzards. The arena sat waiting for its trainers to arrive with its referee stood this time in indigo thermal gear ... why she needed so many different coloured thermals was anybody's guess. Both trainers arrive one after the other prepared for the harsh weather slowly trudging towards the arena. They make their way over to their trainer who smiles from under her hood, her lips painted blue for the effect.

"Hello again, you definately have a thing for the cold eh!" She said with a chuckle directed at Tim. "Well its nice to see you both, make sure to keep wrapped up throughout the duration of the battle and remaining in your trainer boxes at all time. Time for the rules then."

Arena: Glacier Island's Icy Wastelands: Glacier Island's Icy Wastelands: A dry region of little rainfall, extreme temperatures, and sparse vegetation. No sand here, only ice and snow for miles and miles while raging snowstorms are known to appear within a matter of minutes. Battles take place in a 50m x 50m wide area, with a small frozen lake sitting silently in the northern corner. The lake is approximately 15m in diameter and is covered with a thin sheath of ice. This arena is exactly as it appears at first sight - cold, harsh, and deadly...

She allowed them time to prepare themselves whist retrieving a coin from her pocket. She assigned poketim2 to Heads and kaisap to Tails and gave it a quick flip: "Tails".
Once she was sure they understood the rules she went through the order of play:

– I need PM’s from both of you including your Pokemon, their stats, any healing items being declared, and your attacks for the first round.
- I will then ref the first round.
- kaisaip112 will then order their attacks for the next round.
- poketim2 then orders their attacks.
- I ref the round, and the next round attack orders switch and so on and so forth till we have a winner!

Brier headed back to the frozen tundra that was becoming all to familiar to him. The riping of the wind at his face, the cracking of the snow under him feet. "Achoo, the previous battle had left him with something of a cold, which he had temporarily subdued with cold medicine, the quantity of which would baffle many. He saw the familiar face of the referee, and wondered "Has see been here the whole time?" Then he noticed the change of wardrobe and dismissed the prior thought.

"Hello again, you definately have a thing for the cold eh!"

"A little, might be related to when I was born." After the Ref was finished he proceed to his box, where opposite him he saw his opponent and yelled "Did you have a hard time getting here, Catsap?" Grabbing gor the same Pokeball as before, Brier sent out Jitterz, saying "Are you ready for another round there bud?."

"Yeah," the little bug buzzed as he hopped back and forth energetically.

"Ok, lets get you running so start with a double charge beam, then block whatever gets sent your way with a Spider Web Shield"

Declaring my Pokémon and items for this battle.

Brier has been in this very arena before with his trusty starter Pokemon and he felt a little more prepared for this battle. Noriko was no amateur either as her and Kitty had battled hard together in the past and were out to prove they would win a battle. The referee explained the rules and both trainers listened intently before walking towards their trainer boxes. Jitterz is released in a bright white light the tiny spider sinking into the snow and Noriko releases her Skitty who similarly bounces in the snow wanting to play. This was no time for games though as the referee releases her flare, the battle had begun!

Jitterz begins by charging up electricity in his little body but before he can finish charging his attack he's struck by a Fake Out from Kitty making him flinch. He wouldn't fall for that move again however. Kitty continues her assualt now close to the Joltik and begins to make herself Attractive to him. He's a little intimidated by the size difference and doesn't really find the mammal that attractive! He charges up his second Charge Beam and this time has the opportunity to unleash it making Kitty screech as her fur stands on end.

Jitterz smiles at the smoky looking cat before him and prepares himself to block whatever is sent his way with a Spider Web Shield. Unfortunately he doesn't expect the Kitty to start Singing beautifully leaving him enraptured. His eyes start to close as he becomes sleepy before he finally succumbs to the magic of the song.

As Kitty's lovely singing faded away, Noriko was utterly convinced that their hard training was going to pay off. She'd learned her lesson on energy-levels the hard way though and wasn't about to give Jitterz an opening.

"Kitty, use Incinerate twice and then Tackle!"

"Not good, not good... Jitterz try your hardest to wake up! If you do hit it with a Thunder Wave, then Giga Drain when it comes to tackle you.

Noriko was extremely pleased with how the first round went along, her target was fast asleep and now Kitty could take advantage of this. Brier was biting his nails as he heard the orders given to take out his Pokemon, he could only beg him to wake up and attack over and over. Kitty approaches the slumbering Joltik and breathes in deep before letting loose a small but intensely hot flame. The Incinerate hits Jitterz melting the snow around him letting him sink to the ground. Its not enough to wake him up however so Kitty lets him have another Incinerate and this time as the snow can no-longer numb the heat he wakes with a start diving into the snow feeling its cooling effects.

From inside his new snow mound he pops out to see Kitty running towards him with a Tackle. He sends thin tendrils of his Thunder Wave at her and she barrels into him as the paralysis takes hold of her. She lays in the snow as sparks erupt from her fur feeling nowhere near as good as she just did. Jitterz can't avoid the tackle now but he can Giga Drain some health back from the cat.

Brier wiped the snow that had been kicked up from the scuffle off of his face, then he notice how close the cat was to Jitterz... *click click click* went the cogs in his mind. "Jitterz your part flea aren't you, so jump on her face and block her mouth with a Spider Web then continue the act by Leeching her Life!"

Noriko gasped as Kitty fell into a paralyzed state. "This cannot be happening! Kitty, please do your best to use Incinerate three times!"

Kitty may have managed to deal some decent damage to Jitterz but with her paralysis she was going to struggle to move let alone attack again. Brier has plans to captailise on this and orders his Joltik to leap onto Kitty's face. The little bug crawls his way towards her as best of possible before leaping the rest of the distance landing on the Skitty's face. She screeches in surprise and tries to rid herself of the bug and he covers her mouth and her screams with a Spider Web making her eyes bug out. She mewls and tries to rid herself of the web when she remembers her orders. She breathes in through her nose and fortunately the paralysis doesn't stop her Incinerating the web but choking on the fire in her mouth.

Jitterz has move from her face to her back and begins to Leech her Life making her wince and try to shake him off. Jitterz eventually is shook off and Kitty tries to use another Incinerate but her mouth locks with the paralysis. She mewls in distress and takes a deep breath before attempting her third attack but again she is unable to move, this was not a good round for her.

The snow appears to be falling heavier and suddenly the wind picks up and fills the arena with a blizzard, this would make things more difficult.

Kitty was not having her favorite battle ever, that was for sure. Noriko took a deep breath, panicing wouldn't get them any closer to victory - more like the total opposite. But perhaps the visibility-lowering blizzard could help?

"Calm down Kitty, it's not over till it's over, as they say. Hide in the snow and use Foresight, then snipe Jitterz with Incinerate!"

"Oh no not this wind again," Brier groaned while having a flash-back to his previous battle, "Oh well best kill two birds with one stone, find a snow pile to dig into to avoid the wind and her incenerate, you should have time then if you can trace the fire trail back to her and hit her with ichi(one) charge beam."

"Wait, why did you use some Nihongo just there?" Jitterz buzzed in confusion.

"Not sure how but I think I got it right, your from Japan so don't complain!" Brier quickly retorted.

The blizzard was making everyone cold and Jitterz was a little more prepared for it this time and was clinging onto ground as hard as possible. Kitty was looking about fearfully, where had her trainer gone? She could no longer see her. She hears Noriko's voice over the wind and feels a little less fearful and ducks into a snow pile as ordered. Jitterz has the same idea and hides in his own mound of snow shivering as the cold substance covers his body. Kitty's eyes glow red before a beam of red light fills the arena and highlights Jitterz's position under the mound of snow by a faint pink hue. Kitty breathes in deep and sends an Incinerate towards the light striking the snow causing it to melt and reveal the bug prize inside. Jitterz was protected by the snow and from his position he can almost make out a line of melted snow leading towards his target. He fires his own attack, a Charge Beam along the line but Kitty had withdrawn into the snow too and most of the attack fizzles off in the soft substance.

The blizzard dies down along with the winds and both trainers remove their hoods to see the outcome of the round. It looks as though it was a swing and a miss for both Pokemon.

"Kitty, keep moving under the snow, no way we're falling for a paralysis again! Use Sing and Attract!

Kitty was burning through her energy a little too quickly and Noriko was worried about the possibility to paralysis again and so the little cat remains in her snowy tomb hoping to dull the damage from those electric attacks. Jitterz is not so encumbered and is more than happy to exit his snowy blanket and go on the attack. He fires a Charge Beam at Kitty and manages to zap her tail that is poking out of the snow making her shriek. Kitty tries to Sing to lull Jitterz to sleep but her voice is muffled by the snow surrounding her.

Jitterz is hoping to push Kitty back towards the lake but she's firmly placed in her snowy dome. He fires another Charge Beam but this one gets most of the snow not hurt Kitty like the Joltik would like. Kitty pokes her head out of the snow and tries her Attract on, little pink hearts surrounding Jitterz who is enraptured by how beautiful the Skitty looks with her snow fur coat, like an ice goddess. He blushes as his eyes are filled with love and Noriko gives a sigh of relief that the move worked. Jitters refuses to use his Thunder Wave of the beauty, he wouldn't want to frazzle her beautiful coat!

Noriko clasped her hands together excitement before reaching to her bag for the Fresh Water she'd gotten with her.

"Okay Kitty, go up close to Jitterz and burn him with Incinerate twice." She smiled charmingly while giving the commands, earning a mischievous grin from Kitty while her back was turned to Jitterz.

Brier gritted his teeth as the prvious round went on, he had forced his partner to waste energy on near useless attacks, and to top it off he was in love with his foe, "Great, he thinking with his dip-stick, Jimmy. Heh heh. Still this my not be good, how can I turn this back on her? Hmmm, maybe I could manipulate his infatuation", Brier though to ", "Got it"

"Jitterz, you want her right?"

"Oh, extremely so..."

"Well maybe she would like you if you proved your strength to her, maybe by beating her in this battle!"

"Maybe..."

"Well then Thunder Wave when she goes to get the Fresh Water, then Charage her with a Charge Beam, and once your close; Giga Drain!"

Noriko was concerned about how fast her Skitty was eating into her energy levels, she would burn out before she finished off the Joltik at this rate. Jitterz was faring really well despite his small size in such a harsh environment, he has orders to wait for Kitty to heal but even though her trainer gets out the fresh water she changes her mind and orders attacks. Kitty leaps out of her snowy temple and lets loose an Incinerate that has Jitterz shaking from the flames burning his body. He blinks as the smoke rises from his body, what should he do? He orders to wait but he was getting fried! As he battles this internal conflict he is blasted with another Incinerate and shrieks out. The flames were hot but he was lucky even with his weakness that the attacks were quite weak.

He was no longer waiting, he was getting battered and although he was attracted to Kitty the fact that she had burned him so harshly, the love was beginning to fade. He releases a Thunder Wave that washes over Kitty causing sparks to ripples off her form as she becomes paralysed. He begins to feel more himself as he fires a Charge Beam that explodes over Kitty pushing her back. Jitterz feels revitalised as the residual electrical energy boosts his special attack. He scuttles closer to Kitty who was shaking from the electricity coursing through her body. He grins as uses a Giga Drain to recover some health and make her suffer for her wily ways.

Brier stood red in the face, most would guess from the cold but in reality it was because he had just given some poor orders, "Guess he wasn't the only one not thinkingt straight," Brier mumbled to himself. "Jitterz, you snapped out of it yet?"

"Yezz, how could sshe hurt me zo?" Jitterz screeched with a tear in his eye(s?)

"It happens, best thing to do is to move on, so lets hurry up and get out of here. Start by pinning her down with a Spider Web, then again and leech some more health with a Giga Drain!"

Noriko tsk-ed as Kitty fell under paralysis yet again. She dug something from her bag and ran to Kitty.

"Good girl, now drink this Fresh Water." Somehow managing to get Kitty to swallow the drink, Noriko went back to her spot. "We need to play for some time here, dodge those Spider Webs and use Sing!"

Now Noriko was worried, her Skitty was paralysed again and she planned to heal her. She steps out of the trainer box and the referee starts yelling at her.

"Back in the trainer box now! Trainers are not permitted to exit the safety of the trainer box during a match, if you want to heal your Pokemon she will need to come to you!"

Noriko hastily leaps back in nearly falling over looking sheepish and orders her Pokemon to her. Kitty moves to meet her trainer when her body freezes from the paralysis. Jitterz takes advantage of this and spits out a Spider Web that sticks to Kitties hind legs restricting her movement further. Kitty mewls pitifully from her spot on the ground and tries to drag herself towards Noriko when she feels Jitterz cral on her back. He begins to Leech her Life sucking small amounts of damage by sticking his pincers into her flesh.

Kitty manages to drag herself forward a little further and was now only 5 metres away from her trainer. Jitterz from his position on her back now uses Giga Drain to siphon even more health and making Kitty wince. She could see that she wasn't going to make it any further with that Joltik on her back and so she Sings a sweet lullaby. Noriko nearly falls to sleep but plugs her ears as Jitterz falls off her back fast asleep. Maybe next round she would reach her trainer!

Noriko sighed with relief as Jitterz fell over. She started whispering to Kitty:

"Alright, let's try getting you some Fresh Water again. Come on! If you get here, I'll give you this Potion too. Try not to wake Jitterz while at it."

"Can't catch a break for her today..." Brier mubbled as his patner was incapasitated yet again, "If she gets those two items this is gonna be a complete turn around." He knew that he could take plenty of hits but Jitterz was growing tired from his exertion. "Well, if your gonna sleep try and regain some energy; however, if you do wake up back off to a tree then fire a string shot!" he yelled trying to stretch his voice across the field.

With Jitterz fast asleep Noriko can concentrate on healing her Skitty. Kitty drags herself over to her trainer trying not to wake up her opponent. She reaches her trainer and drinks the Fresh Water and Noriko sprays her with the Potion and she sighs with relief, that certainly felt better. Brier hopes that Jitterz will wake up and stick the cat up but he slumbers happily in the snow. The Blizzard returns with a vengeance however and that soon wakes him up as the snow pelts his little body.

Brier sighed as his advanatage slipped away only to stop on even footing. Well maybe not, the opponent was paralysised, and more importantly her back was turned. "Quick, Spider Web her in place, then even if you miss Charge Beam, follow that up with a Giga Drain only if your close enough!"

Noriko wasn't about to let that web get in the way again. "Kitty, use Tail Whip to get rid of that web and then hide in the snow again!"
