Seriously wtf is with all this syncho/tuner/xyz shit. Last time I played Elemental Heroes were brand new.

I just learned something today- Use XYZ Monsters against Concept. Not that complicated Synchro Summoning thing I did to get rid of Gravity Bind after many turns of stalling.

EDIT:

>Concept

The last time I had played, the Egyptian God cards were new.

You and me both, and although I still don't fully understand Synchros. Heroes and Spacians were the new thing when I last played as well.

Xyz are...

K, well, they go in your fusion extra deck, and say one Xyz card says "2 Level 4 monters", you have to have 2 Level 4 (4 starred) monsters on your field, then you summon the Xyz monster on top of them by stacking them. Then if the Xyz gets attacked or was to die, you can use one of the monsters underneath as a shield to counter. Crazy stuff.

Not immune to gravity bind, just that gravity bind only effects monsters higher than level 4, and a lot of Xyz are level 4 with 2000 to 2500 attack points.

Gravity bind effects four and higher, not higher than four.

Actually, they are immune to Gravity Bind. Gravity Bind stops Level 4 or higher monsters. Xyz doesn't have levels, they have Ranks. (ex Black Ray Lancer requires an overlay of two Level 3s because the Xyz itself is Rank 3)

I like this quote to explain it:
Quote:
Xyz came from the other side of a black hole, you think a little gravity can stop them?

>Concept and Deo don't fully understand Synchro

Allow me to explain: Summon a Synchro is pretty easy, as long as you can do simple addition. I'll explain through example.

Let's say that I want to summon my Junk Warrior, which is a Level 5 Synchro monster. Currently on my field is Junk Synchron (Tuner, Lv. 3), Dark Magician (Normal monster, Lv. 7) and Speed Warrior (Effect monster, Lv 2). To summon Junk Warrior, I must send a Tuner and at least one non-Tuner to the Graveyard and those monster's combined Levels must add to equal Junk Warrior's Level. I choose to send my Junk Synchro (Tuner, Lv. 3) and Speed Warrior (Effect monster, Lv. 2) to the Graveyard form my Synchro Material Monsters. This allows me to summon Junk Warrior.

Mathematically it looks like this:

Junk Synchron (Lv. 3) + Speed Warrior (Lv. 2) = Junk Warrior (Lv. 5)

Hope that helps.

Well get your butt on now, I've been on for an hour or so :p. Name's "MrKoncept"

Four or five matches, Phoopes has come closes to beating me yet. But I get the impression my opponents since then have been kinda noobie even by my standards.

> horn of the phantom beast

Horn stays on the field and its effect works until either it, or the monster it was equipped to, is destroyed.

Also, TDos, Since you said you wanted to build your own deck, I feel now is a good time to let you know that the deck list I gave you is getting banned in a week. T.G. Striker is going to 1 and Reborn Tengu is going to 2(making Tengu useless)

I ACCIDENTLY gave u the revised decklist, but you weren't supposed to see that D=

In the mean time, try to figure out what makes that deck work(you're really smart =0) and you'll be fine making a new deck.

Edit: Just saw Concept top-deck Ookazi for game. Funniest shit ever.

Most anti-climatic ending ever :p. I lost like 2000 lp just before that because I made a move that a) I'd miscalculated the maths and b) I'd forgotten my Bowganian had been destroyed (basically I thought the attack would bring him within Bowganian range rather than 100lp outside it), but even if he destroyed messenger I had gravity bind and magic cylinder facedown so. I was in no real danger at any point in that duel.

As you can see, I pay loads of attention to what's going on :p. Lost one earlier to some really overenthusiastic guy xD. Like everytime he made a good move he was like "YEAH YOU'RE GONNA LOSE NOW KID" and every time I made a good move he was like "OH SHIT IMMA LOSE". Caps and all.

Welcome to Dueling Network. Stuff like that is why it's turned into casual play, and none of us competitive people use it

Perfect for the purposes of this community though! =0

If all they do is Troll & Toad advertisements for their eBay page, then that's fine. I've ordered MtG cards through them before off of eBay. They're just some (large-scale) mom & pop card shop.

I guess I'll go ahead and register. In fact, looks like I just did. Talon was in use but Talon87 was not, so ... *YOINK!*

I couldn't find my GBA game (it's probably in storage in my parents' hometown), so I'm struggling to recreate my deck from scratch. I'm sure I'm doing things wrong since:
(1) I don't remember the card balance,
(2) I have a shit ton of just brute force and LOL KINDERGARTEN-level strategy but no real oomph combos
(3) I have like no card draw Don't remember the names for any card draw cards except Pot of Greed. I seem to remember there were some way better ones though ...
(4) So many of the Spell cards I remember are banned or limited. (Raigeki, Dark Hole, Giant Trunade, Harpie's Feather Duster, ...)
(5) I only have 40 cards. What is the minimum limit for a deck? (I seem to vaguely recall that YGO may be the opposite of MtG in this regard. In Magic, you have to have at least 60 cards in your deck. Going over is fine, but you can't have fewer than 60. In YGO, was it the other way around? Totally forget. )

Anyway, if anyone wants to help me playtest, I'd appreciate it. Talon87.

>Muyo - Pinkie Pie Promise

It's actually just "Pinkie Promise".

>Concept is mentioned to have Bowganian and Ookazi

Burn, I'm assuming?

>(2) I have a shit ton of just brute force and LOL KINDERGARTEN-level strategy but no real oomph combos

What's wrong with that? I use that strategy most of the time.

>(4) So many of the Spell cards I remember are banned or limited. (Raigeki, Dark Hole, Giant Trunade, Harpie's Feather Duster, ...)

You can use them in Traditional format.

>What is the minimum limit for a deck?

40 is minimum. 60 is maximum.

Awesome! I'm at work but will help you tonight, and Tuner and Kusari can help you with deck building, at least to throw in some decent combos and other staples (I recommend a Mystical Space Typhoon, for example). Don't worry about using banned cards, like Pot of Greed, we all are.

As for the card limit, it's 60, but general rule of thumb is to stay between 40 and 45 (40 is the minimum, and too many cards will mean less chances to draw what you need).

Then I have a deck. And I have MSTs, so don't worry. I made it legal (meaning no banned cards or no 2 or 3 of cards for which the limit is 1 or 2), so if others are running traditional (a.k.a. modern illegal) decks, let me know and I'll be more than happy to throw in some Raigekis and Giant Trunades and such instead.

I guess I'm good to go then? I'm in the battle room. I see the three columns and such. Don't see a members' list though. Guess I'll just have to hunt for UPNers manually ...

EDIT: Not a one of you are on. Oh well.

EDIT: Oh. So you're saying I should be running illegal cards? Back to the drawing board then ...

All of us are illegal right now. I have Raigeki and I'm loving it. Among others.

So, why is it preventing me from adding more than one Raigeki or Graceful Charity? If I'm going to be constructing a deck which breaks the rules anyway, why the hell is it not allowing me to put two or three of a given card into my deck? What the hell?

If you go to "View Profile" you can search for a username and it'll tell you if that person is online.

Also, most of us have just been playing Traditional, though Phoopes and Tuner both have Advanced decks along with their Traditionals.

Plausibly.

No, I went into the room and searched for each of you by your Deoxys-posted names. NONE of you showed up in the room. (To clarify, I typed your names into the search bar for users that's at the bottom of the page.)

Once we get 8+ people willing to do a tournament, we can do one we're getting pretty close to that if I'm not mistaken
