Picking 4, 6 and 5

As the event started, Dusty quickly got started, and soon soared into the lead.

''Way to go!'' Jake exclaimed

''She's doing amazing!'' Tasu added.

However she started to slow down slightly, allowing a Scyther to rise to first, but only by a one poffin lead.

''She's starting to slow down, this could be bad'' Pom commented

''I think she's going to be fine, right now she's not to far behind.'' Tasu replied.

''Though I think that Scyther might be a challenge for Dusty to try and surpass.'' Jake added before turning his attention back to the competition.

Sorry for the kinda poor RP, but I need to get these numbers in.

As the competition went underway, Marche concentrated his abilities and what he had of Psychic energy into blasts of several rings that collided with the Slakoth. And Blaze was right about the Slakoth, as it had tried to blow a Yawn his way, the bubbles popping under the Psychic energy and disorienting him a little bit. But with having used an attack he wasn't exactly familiar with, it ended up hampering his performance for the rest of the round.

"Blaze, we need to come back from this! We are in last place. I need to eat more!" "Don't worry Marche, I've got your back! You can do this! I'll just drain the....I mean I'll just cheer you on this round!" "Blaze, there is something odd about your Woobat. She seems to be pretty unhinged" "Unhinged!? Why never! My head does not have a hinge to be unhinged with! Anyways, I'm helping you in this, so don't worry!" "Marche, don't worry about Remilia, she's a good person at heart." "Alright. If you say so I'm fine with it."

Picking numbers 3,4, and 5 for the next three rounds, and cheering Marche round 4.

Stage 2: Second Helping

"With the first few rounds gone underway the crowd is working its way up to a fever pitch as the contestants steadily keep on chewing and chomping. Now that initial proceedings have passed and differences have been put in between the competitors, some of their Trainers are taking early advantage of the cheering stipulations. Marche's team hastily cobbles together a rousing cheer while Sciuridae's Electric comrade fizzles up some sparks of encouragement. Boosted by these words both Pokémon scramble to shove more Poffins in, but it looks like Team Emolga has proven their effectiveness as Sciuridae shovels down a respectable bundle of sweet pastry. I'm not sure if Marche is encouraged or disturbed by the display of his Trainer's Woobat, but given the bound he's managed to make, it's got to be working.

At the same time, the others continue to focus on chowing their piles as best they can. Despite their trailing positions Ezrael and Kong keep it slow and steady, grabbing a good number of Poffins and chucking them into their stomachs. But what's this? Dodi's abandoning his mound of baked goods and headed straight for Spirit, and poised for a Peck right into the Scyther! The attack isn't particularly strong, but Spirit's weaker disposition to Flying-type moves have knocked him askew enough for him to choke on his Poffins, losing on the progress he managed to make this round. Sam and Dusty don't seem to have made much headway either, perhaps distracted by all the chaotic goings-on. The latter's managed to hold onto her lead with Spirit taking a fall, but the rest are closing in fast!"

Ezrael: 9 + 6 = 15
Kong: 8 + 6 + 0 = 14
Marche: 7 + (7 x 1.5) = 18 (cheering used)
Sam: 20 + 2 = 22
Spirit: 25 + 5 - 4 = 26
Dusty: 24 + 2 = 26
Dodi: 17 + 0 = 17 (used an attack)
Sciuridae: 8 + (4 + 3) x 2 = 22 (cheering used)

Round 4 numbers:
Spoiler: show

1. 10
2. 5
3. 7
4. 2
5. 6
6. 4
7. 7
8. 9
9. 6
10. 8
Kong's Bonus: 1d100 = 79

"Quite literally neck and neck with each other our two leading eaters glare at the other with rivalry and courage burning in their eyes. As though determined to prove which bug is the more voracious for victory, both Dusty and Spirit rip into their respective portions of Poffin, neither of them managing to get an edge over the other but still making very impressive progress. This seems to have gotten Dodi's attention, whose beak just about drops at seeing the Scyther tear ahead without any apparent impediment.

"Capitalising on how cheering has worked out for their competition, the other Trainers began their rousing rounds of excited and encouraging yells. Even as he munches into another Aspear Poffin Ezrael grits his jaws and manages to swallow a bunch of other Poffins, hopefully taking away the bitter taste plaguing his mouth. Likewise, Kong scoops up another round of Poffins with his arms on hearing his Trainer's call, cramming the lot into his mouth. The same can't really be said of the remainder, though, with Sam and Sciuridae starting to slow down for a bit of breath. Differences between the competitors are starting to close, but are they beginning to run low on stamina and motivation?"

Ezrael: 15 + (2 + 3) x 2 = 25 (cheering used)
Kong: 14 + (3 + 3) x 2 + 1 = 27 (cheering used)
Marche: 18 + 5 = 23
Sam: 22 + 4 = 26
Spirit: 26 + 8 = 34
Dusty: 26 + 8 = 34
Dodi: 17 + 2 = 19
Sciuridae: 22 + 2 = 24

Round 5 numbers:
Spoiler: show

Round 5:
1. 1
2. 9
3. 3
4. 5
5. 8
6. 8
7. 2
8. 4
9. 1
10. 2
Kong's Bonus: 1d100 = 3

"We're heading into the halfway point of the first ever Poffin-Palooza, and almost certainly lesser participants might have easily keeled over at this gruelling stage. With what's at stake firmly in mind, however, it seems that everyone's had a simultaneous epiphany. If they're going to be eating anything today it won't be humble pie, that's for sure! Darting about their collections of decorated buns the eight Pokémon masticate away like there's no tomorrow - it's a good thing we've put some distance between the audience and the participants, because it's raining crumbs out there! A sound not unlike lawnmowers cutting through grass can be heard around our makeshift stadium today... but perhaps not enough to drown out the last-minute dedication one fisherman-inspired Trainer has decided to put on for Sam the Carvanha. I'd swear that if I hadn't personally checked the registration sheets, I would think Sam had the Speed Boost ability, because he's absolutely dominating the field out there. Ezrael seems to be trailing behind, though, but I can't put my finger on exactly why. Maybe he's still having some trouble deciding if Tynamo's a partner or an entreé.

"Halfway through the tryouts we're looking at a solid lead not unlike our previous intermission. Thanks to the timely support of his Trainer he's pulled into the lead, while Spirit and Dusty are still holding strong after rounds of competing against each other while vying for the lead. The others aren't too far behind, though, in an admittedly varied smattering of positions. Here's hoping they can still stomach the second half of these proceedings!"

Ezrael: 25 + 4 = 29
Kong: 27 + 6 + 1 = 34
Marche: 23 + 7 = 30
Sam: 26 + (9 x 2) = 44 (cheering used)
Spirit: 34 + 7 = 41
Dusty: 34 + 7 = 41
Dodi: 19 + 7 = 26
Sciuridae: 24 + 7 = 31

Round 6 numbers:
Spoiler: show

1. 2
2. 7
3. 4
4. 4
5. 7
6. 6
7. 9
8. 9
9. 7
10. 1
Kong's Bonus: 1d100 = 8

Stage 3 Notes:

- Participants have 96 hours to choose 3 numbers from 1 to 10 as before. Any post made after 27th August 2013, 8pm (GMT +8:00) will be ignored, and late participants will automatically be assigned the worst possible progress numbers. In mind of the above, you may post your numbers without roleplay to fall within the time limit.

- All participants may order an attack for one Round during the following Stage. If no Round (7, 8 or 9) is specified, the attack will always be assumed to take place during Round 4.

- Cheering may only be done for Dodi, as all other participants have either Cheered during Stage 2 or are currently in 1st or 2nd place.

- It should go without saying, but if you find any problems with the numbers already posted, please don't hesitate to point them out.

As the second stage began, it seemed most of the other trainers had been struck by the same idea, cheering their respective Pokémon on and encouraging them to do better. Sure enough, the rest of the competition started to eat more and move Poffins, whilst Sam was left trailing behind. As Dave and his squadmates started his own cheering, he saw the Carvanha catch a brief glimpse of them. He couldn't be certain that he'd taken it all in, but suddenly the Dark-type sped up. The effect was instantly obvious as he began to munch his way through the pile at a record pace!

"Alright! That's the way!" Dave enthused, the rest of his Pokémon also seeming pretty happy. Even Sybil. The fisherman patted the Mantyke on the head, a gesture she returned with a nuzzle against him. "Thanks, lass. That may well have made a difference here. Look! Sam's in the lead now!" The juvenile Ray smiled at her trainer's happiness, even if she wasn't the biggest fan of the competing fish. Dave smiled back, before turning back to the contest. True, Sam was in the lead, but the other two big competitors weren't far behind. Still all to play for...

Picking numbers 4, 7 and 1 for the third stage.

Picking 9, 7 and 4 for Stage 3.

The cheering seemed to have the desired effect - Sciuri picked up incredible progress, wolfing down fourteen poffins in a single round! The pokemon was an eating machine - but needing to catch his breath from eating so much so fast may have hindered his progress - but come the sixth round, Sciuri was going at a good pace again. The little squirrel was just focusing on eating as much as he could without choking out. He was determined - if he wasn't going to win, he was at least going to try and make it a close match!

They weren't too far behind the pack leaders, Dan reckoned, but there were quite a few pokemon ahead of them. They were still in with a chance, though... he just kept on hoping Sciuri made breakaway with his eating, watching the match with great anticipation. "Come on, you can do this..." he muttered to himself. The Joltik atop his head was just as excited, jumping up and down energetically, watching his teammate go. Sciuri might be an underdog compared to some of the others, but by god he'd keep on eating...

El couldn't do much more than make odd squealing noises as she watched Spirit tear into the poffins like he hadn't had breakfast. She managed to yell out a 'yes!' as the bug shrugged off Dodi's attack with little detriment, but beyond that no legible English came from her mouth. She hopped and danced and spun around in a circle like she was hopped up on sugar, so distracted by her own excitement that she didn't even notice when Sam moved into first place.

Michelle, on the other hand, was quite content to actually pay attention to what was going on. She oohed and aahed as the competition drew on, carefully eyeing any competitors that were particularly close. This did mean that she spent most of her time eying Spirit and Dusty, the two tied for first for a good deal of the race. However, Michelle was nothing if not a rodent who liked to pretend to be fair, so she occasionally forced her attention onto the other racers. Still, her qqattention drifted back to the leaders just in time for her to let out a scream as Sam took the lead.

And then there was Lucy. She wasn't interested in the contest at all. Every now and then she'd glance over and give a snooty little holier-than-thou huff, but she wouldn't allow herself to be caught dead paying attention to what was going on. Most of the time she was glaring at El, snarking at her and relishing that the trainer didn't understand.

"C'mon, Luce! Be a good sport!" Michelle said as she gave the other normal type a friendly nudge.

"When I am in charge, we will all be above such crude displays of so-called 'talent'."

"Yeah yeah, you keep on dreamin' girl."

Spirit just kept plowing on through, glad to finally have some breakfast.

Picking numbers 1, 3 and 8 thanks!

Third Stage Numbers: Ezreal uses Bite on Dusty the (other) Trapinch for Round 7, 2, 10

Ezreal finally made some good progress thanks in no small part to Hyrem's cheering, but the others were still far ahead of him, and the other Trapinch was making too much progress for her own good, in his opinion. It was time to take drastic measures and attack someone... and a mischievous glint in his eyes sparkled for a moment. Who better to mess with than your direct competition? Besides, this was his chance to see what his own kind tasted like. He wouldn't go much further than the nip he planned to give her body (somewhere... middle... yessss... good...), that would be enough of a sample to satisfy him. Now to waddle over to where she was, quietly clicking with a malicious smile, do the damage, then continue on with his business...

Hyrem could see his Trapinch walking towards the other Trapinch in the contest, and quite a few thoughts rushed through his mind, one of them being the worst-case scenario. Since he cheered for Ezreal last time, he wasn't allowed to have any say on the matter, so he simply prayed that Ezreal wouldn't do anything rash. (Though that is his Nature, or did you forget, Hyrem? ... Oh, boy, let the facepalming begin!)

Things started to look a bit more up for team Sloth. In 3 more rounds, Kong had more than tripled his score and was now in the top half of the group.

A bit away from the hussle of the contest, Lucas sat exhausted with his two other Pokémon leaning against him. Cheering took a lot more out of them than they'd expected. With no poffin to feed their empty stomach, a quick rest felt necessary and it wouldn't have been like Kong would need some more cheering, as long as his truant ability wouldn't suddenly get in the way. If anything, it was a huge boost to their cause in the contest.

It wasn't to say that his trainer wasn't a bit worried. Three others were already much farther than Kong and it was the piranha that shined the most by being ten poffins ahead of him.

With their attacking orders and cheering out of the way, a small break and relaxing round would feel welcome for sure.

Stage 3: Just Desserts

"It's been an absolutely gruelling first half of the first ever Tynamo Tryouts and all participants are chugging and chewing away, with what's at stake here fresh in mind. Oh, wait, that's not quite accurate. Marche's Trainer and teammates seem to have wandered off for this nevertheless critical juncture! Perhaps they saw something shiny, or maybe they've lost hope and motivation. Whatever the reason, it's not having a good effect on the Graveler, who limply tosses a single Poffin into his stony mouth. Consumption is clearly not on the mind of Ezrael, either - with a middling performance throughout this tournament, the Trapinch seems fed up even if he isn't full up. Scuttling to the other Ant Pit on the field he snaps his jaws and gives Dusty an almighty Bite! That couldn't have been too pleasant, and indeed Dusty chokes on a huge mouthful of Poffins but manages to swallow down most of them.

"Taking advantage of the momentary distractions of their rivals everyone seems to put on sudden spurts. Leveraging on his lead position, Sam displays more of that excellent predatorial instinct, putting away Poffins several times his physical size. This doesn't go unnoticed by Spirit, but this is just enough for the Scyther to accidentally toss a viridian muffin into his maw. Looks like he's really not fond of Bitter-flavoured Poffins, as he dives for his juice dispenser to wash away the nasty taste on his tongue. Kong looks as energetic as any performing Pokémon would - with four Poffins in each arm, he flings the lot in a bonanza only for all of them to land neatly through his waiting gullet. Sciuridae isn't backing down either, as his rumoured voracity starts to really kick in, letting him chew through Poffins larger than his mouth. It looks like Dodi's Trainer seems to be putting up some encouragement for him, but with the sheer volume of the crowd, it's not incredibly effective. At least Dodi seems to have picked up on it and downed some more Poffins."

Ezrael: 29 + 0 = 29 (used an attack)
Kong: 34 + 8 + 0 = 42
Marche: 30 + 1 = 31 (inactive)
Sam: 44 + 10 = 54
Spirit: 41 + 3 = 44
Dusty: 41 + 10 - 4 = 47
Dodi: 26 + (3 + 3) x 1.1 = 33 (cheering used)
Sciuridae: 31 + 8 = 39

Round 7 numbers:
Spoiler: show

1. 3
2. 4
3. 6
4. 10
5. 9
6. 3
7. 1
8. 7
9. 8
10. 10
Kong's Bonus: 1d100 = 58

"The sight of a clear lead at this stage has really got the attention of all other participants, in quite the display of for better or worse. To say that Sam is eating all this up is hardly an exaggeration, as he practically demolishes another pile of Poffins. There's no fooling that sharp sense of smell for the sour! This is not boding too well our previous champion holders, who don't seem to be making too much progress here at all. It seems that Spirit hit a really bad pocket of Bitter flavours, and Dusty's still down in the mouth from the receiving end of her rival's chomp.

"Meanwhile, with the volatility of positions becoming obvious to everyone, the others valiantly plod on in hopes they can throw the Carvanha off his perch. In a display most surprising for a Pokémon of his size, Sciuridae tosses back Poffins like there's no tomorrow. I'm not sure how he's doing it, especially without visible chewing, but it's certain that he's not going to have a repeat of his Stage 1 performance. Kong isn't backing down either, continuing to ladle in Poffins like he's got conveyor belts for arms. This ends up leaving the others in the proverbial dust, with Ezrael and Dodi putting up middling demonstrations. Still, it's considerably miles ahead of Marche, who glumly chomps down another Poffin as an apparent afterthought."

Ezrael: 29 + 5 = 34
Kong: 42 + 8 + 1 = 51
Marche: 31 + 1 = 32 (inactive)
Sam: 54 + 9 = 63
Spirit: 44 + 1 = 45
Dusty: 47 + 1 = 48
Dodi: 33 + 5 = 38
Sciuridae: 39 + 9 = 48

Round 8 numbers:
Spoiler: show

1. 8
2. 5
3. 1
4. 3
5. 1
6. 1
7. 9
8. 5
9. 1
10. 1
Kong's Bonus: 1d100 = 29

"Things are starting to wind down just before we head into the final quarter of this event, but you wouldn't know it just by looking at our competitors today - or maybe it's precisely because of that, everyone's warming up to a big finish. Dodi continues to peck away steadily at his pile, but all things considered he's unfortunately not making as much headway as his opponents are. With as much satisfying comeback as he could muster, Ezrael shovels down a hefty helping of Poffins, just as Spirit and Dusty try their best to make up for lost time in the previous round, making a recovery from the roadblock they experienced.

"Despite this burst of motivation and effort, things aren't looking up for our previous contenders. Really getting into the rhythm of things, Kong rakes away at his dwindling collection of pastries, showing off that Slakoth spirit in spite of all associations of the species indicating otherwise. Sciuridae isn't letting up either, swallowing his Poffins with an almost unearthly drive. But what of Sam? Why, he's not showing any signs of stopping! Anyone would think that a famine would be taking place in the coming week going by how destructive his pace is. I'm starting to wonder if we did order enough Poffins in preparations to begin with!

"We're seeing quite the comeback made by our brave contestants, with a midway upset coming from our initial not-quite-contenders. It's the home stretch from here on out, and it still could be anyone's game!"

Ezrael: 34 + 7 = 41
Kong: 51 + 7 + 1 = 59
Marche: 32 + 1 = 33 (inactive)
Sam: 63 + 10 = 73
Spirit: 45 + 6 = 51
Dusty: 48 + 6 = 54
Dodi: 38 + 5 = 43
Sciuridae: 48 + 9 = 57

Sticking to 4, 7 and 9. Cheering Sciuridae on in Round 12.

There was something of a glint in the Emolga's eye as he tore through a vast amount of the confections set above him. As his trainer had thought, he was eating like a maniac, making use of those cheek pouches - somehow avoiding choking as he devoured another set of the Spicy poffins before him. He had only one thing on his mind; eat, eat, eat!

Dan watched in amazement as Sciuridae really started shoveling down the poffins - he was really starting to make some headway, surging forth against some of the other competitors! The Carvanha was a major threat though... that thing was shredding through the poffins like there was no tomorrow. He pondered ordering an attack... but really, the best thing he could probably do is wait until things come close to an end and give his pokemon the last-minute boost that could turn it all around. When the time came, he cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled; "You've got this Sciuri! Eat like there's no tomorrow!" More sparking encouragement came from the Joltik atop his head - they could only hope Sciuri would pull through and take the lead, but they'd do all they could to inspire him on to do it.

Final Stage Numbers: 3, 5, 8 (Hyrem cheers for Ezreal in Round 12)

Now into the home stretch, Ezreal gave a crooked grin of satisfaction in his work against the other Trapinch... she certainly wasn't one of the leaders anymore after he gave her a good chomp! The downside of this was... he was next to last, so he would have to stuff himself particularly in these last few rounds. He could still win this, he just needed to focus on eating and not let the competition distract him... even if he wanted a sampling of Carvanha filet. "Go for it, Ez!" he could hear his caretaker cheer for him, and it... fueled him somehow. For some strange reason, he felt he didn't want to let him down. Why was this? All these creatures are supposed to be food for him whenever he was hungry, but that wasn't the case for this human. Perhaps because he was the first creature the Trapinch saw out of the egg? No, Trapinch don't have instincts toward that.. didn't they? Okay, no, no distraction! MUST. EAT. TASTY BREAD THINGS.

Picking 2, 3 and 5 Cheering for Dusty in round 12

This was it, the last three rounds were upon them. And though she tried her hardest during the last three rounds, for the first time, she found herself falling behind, and was now in fourth!

''This can't be good, she needs to catch up, but how?'' Jake pondered.

''I'll tell you how, with some encouragement!'' Tasu exclaimed, as she took some pom-poms she had put in Jakes backpack.

"You've got to be kidding me" Jake mumbled

''Give me a D, give me an U, a STY, come on Dusty, fight, fight fight!'' The Plusle cheered, even if it didn't rhyme, she didn't care.

''Come on Dusty, you can do it!'' Pom cheered.

''Show them what your made of!'' Jake added.

This was it! The last leg of the race. Kong had been able to quickly catch up to the rest by going from seventh place in stage 1 to second place by stage 3. If he was going to keep up his current pace, they might have a real shot at winning this place. The contestant in first place was an exceptionally hungry Carvanha and despite Kong’s best efforts, he was still behind by fourteen poffins.

“Come on you two,” the trainer told his other two Pokémon. “We should cheer Kong on! This the last stage, Kong’s final moment when he attempts to overtake the others and win this competition.”

The other two gave a small cheer in unison. “Alright, let’s do this.” A small glint appeared in the corner of Kong’s eye as he saw his trainer about to open his big mouth to cheer him on even further. In one quick movement, which would be considered very unslothwise, he grabbed a poffin and aimed it at Lucas.

“Come on Kong! You ca-hmpfmhffhmm!” Lucas choked on a poffin in his mouth before finishing and started rolling around the floor like crazy. “Mmmppffmmhhm.” The Ralts and Magnemite merely stood there, wondering whether to be worried about their trainer or roll around the floor themselves from laughter.

After a few moments, Lucas relaxed on the floor, relieved that the poffin had finally slid down his throat and not stay lodged halfway instead. Rags and Wattson bent over their trainer. “Ruru-ral,” the Rags said. (I don’t think he liked it when we cheered for him the first time.)

"Bidoof! Bidoof bidoooof!"

The sudden sound of Michelle screaming was just enough to bring El back from spinny-squealy land. She slowly ground to a halt and turned to look at her partners, even Lucy seemed to be getting somewhat in on the action, hissing ans spitting in the general direction of the contest. That was just enough to get El interested in the actual standings, and El was horrified to see just how far Spirit had dropped.

"Spiriiiit! C'mooooon!" she screamed as loud as her tiny little lungs could handle. "You can do it! Don't give up yet, there's still poffins left to eat! Chew! Chop! Whatever! You can do it, you awesome bug, I know you can!"

"Yeah, you big ol' dolt!" Michelle said, joining in. "What's a few bitter things compared to everything before you? Goooooo!"

"If you loose you make me look bad, do you understand? MAKE! ME! LOOK! GOOD!"

Even though El had no way of understanding what the two normal types were on about, their cheering supported her own. She began to double her own efforts to be heard over the two, which in turn caused them to do the same. It was like a really screechy feedback loop, one destined to result in many sore throats the next day.

"C'MON SPIRIT! YOU'RE AWESOME! DON'T LET THOSE JERKS GET YOU DOWN!"

"USE YOUR SPEED!"

"Generic motivational rubbish NOW DON'T COME LAST OR YOU'LL GET IT YOU HEAR?"

Picking numbers 1, 10 and 7 for the last three rounds, cheering on round 10.

Dave could only watch in awe, his mouth agape as Sam continued to surge ahead. Capitalising on his motivation from last round, the Carvanha left the rest of the competition in his wake as he munched almost the whole way through the next three piles of Poffins laid before him. Watching it was enough to kill his own appetite, but hopefully Sam still had room in his stomach to go the distance.

Looking at the Pokémon next to him, Dave cracked a smile. "Maybe he might just do this after all..." he mused. Gytha squeaked in agreement, while Sybil gave a more restrained nod. The Mantyke didn't want to admit it, but she too was impressed by Sam's display. Even if the Dark-type didn't manage to win the prize, at least he'd moved up a few places with the object of his affections.

The fisherman smiled on the outside, but was troubled within. While Sam had a commanding lead, this also prevented him from cheering his piranha to the finish as per the rules, while most of the other trainers were free to boost their competitor's spirits. As Sam himself had proven, a lead could quickly be overturned with the right amount of motivation. Dave could only cross his fingers and hope that he'd keep up his pace enough to see the contest through to the end and bring home the prize. "Come on, buddy." he muttered, more to himself than to the Carvanha. "You can do this, I know you can..."

Picking numbers 5, 6 and 8 for the final stage.

Stage 4: Icing on the Cake

"We're steamrolling into the last of these rounds and it looks like another competitor has fallen into the wayside. Without a considerably stellar performance throughout the showings so far it looks like Dodi's pit crew has gone effectively AWOL. This is allowing the other participants to leave the two somewhat sad snackers behind in the dust of icing sugar. Not content on letting another creature with mouth for most of their mass take the lead, Ezrael and Dusty take to their Poffin piles like a Mow Rotom, chomping down respectable helpings of the baked goods. Sam, on the other hand, continues pacing himself quite excellently. No reason to overdo it; doing what he does best has seemed to work so far throughout this campaign.

"Of course, this doesn't mean that the rest of the active participants are letting up. Kong continues picking up Poffins like - oh, that's unfortunate. Maybe the idea of coming in surprise seconds has excited Kong just a little too much. Looks like a Poffin's gone the wrong way, but it's encouraged back on track with a spot of juice. Spirit just happens to bite into another Rawst Poffin, but even as his lip curls in disgust it looks like Team Lass El is putting up a rousing performance of harmonised, synchronised shouting. This timely intervention proves enough for the Scyther to plod on, rapidly stuffing in Iapapa and Yache Poffins to mask the bitter aftertaste. Sciuridae, perhaps noticing the sudden obstacles encountered by the others at this vital point before the penultimate, slows down a little just in case."

Ezrael: 41 + 9 = 50
Kong: 59 + 2 + 0 = 61
Marche: 33 + 1 = 34 (inactive)
Sam: 73 + 7 = 80
Spirit: 51 + (1 + 3) x 2 = 59 (cheering used)
Dusty: 54 + 7 = 61
Dodi: 43 + 1 = 44 (inactive)
Sciuridae: 57 + 5 = 62

Round 10 numbers:

3. 9
4. 5
5. 7
6. 1
7. 6
8. 2

10. 5
Kong's Bonus: 1d100 = 97

"Close to completing the entire tournament's length everyone seems to be falling over themselves trying to make sure they've got it for that one, last desperate burst. The sound of a few deep breaths in rapid succession can just be heard over the cacophony of consumption echoing through our makeshift stadium, and it seems that everyone's seemed to slow down a little bit more. Wary stares are being exchanged by everyone, determined not to fall behind - despite how a couple of our other signees have already seemed to throw in the towel, and a paltry pair of Poffins between them. Kong does look like he's got that second wind back after that unfortunate mishap which threw his momentum for a loop, and just in time as well - his second placing is in jeopardy as Spirit and Dusty barely manage to edge closer to him. What's this? With another almighty mouthful Sciuridae pushes past the Slakoth and has now officially topped the race for second! All this seems to be little more than formality for Sam, who bulldozes through another portion of Poffin. Maybe he's found his calling, or just another patch of luscious Liechi flavours?"

Ezrael: 50 + 4 = 54
Kong: 61 + 4 + 1 = 66
Marche: 34 + 2 = 36 (inactive)
Sam: 80 + 9 = 89
Spirit: 59 + 5 = 64
Dusty: 61 + 4 = 65
Dodi: 44 + 2 = 46 (inactive)
Sciuridae: 62 + 6 = 68

Round 11 numbers:
Spoiler: show

1. 6
2. 2
3. 4
4. 7
5. 4
6. 9
7. 6
8. 3

10. 5
Kong's Bonus: 1d100 = 1

"It goes without saying that we've all been waiting for this moment - the final countdown, the moment where the cookies crumble and the cake comes out of the oven! This is a no less exciting moment for those in the Trainers' stands, as everyone knows this is the last point where they can make a powerful effort to snatch the 1st place from the jaws of defeat (and Sam, as it were). Loud shouts and exclamations echo through the seats as everyone joins in cheering their favourite dark Horsea and underHoundour. This proves enough distraction for Ezrael to chomp into another pocket of Petaya Poffins, but he drinks in enough of the audience and atmosphere to swallow everything down. Our Flying leaders aren't letting up either, as they exchange knowing glares at each other and a particularly nasty glower at Sam - "I'm the one known for having the abnormally gigantic appetite, not him!" With the intimidation of a Krookodile and the dig speed of an Excadrill they're absolutely crushing the Poffins laid out for them. I'd hate to be a low-calorie pastry right about now! Speaking of Sam, it looks like all that speed has finally run out of juice. I don't know if he's tired or chomping on capsacin but it looks like Sam is all chewed out with himself right now! Certainly, when your jaws extend halfway about yourself you can only guess at how tiring this sort of workout might be. Not going out with a whimper, Kong lays a triangle formation of Poffins and practically juggles them into his mouth - kicking one final snack in just for good measure. He sniffs. This is, after all, his competition, no matter what anyone says.

"And at the ding of an oven, we're done! This competition has been baked for four stages until it's become a tasty, golden brown. And the Trainer walking away with the gold is...!"

Ezrael: 54 + (2 + 3) x 2 = 64 (cheering used)
Kong: 66 + 10 + 1 = 77
Marche: 36 + 1 = 37 (inactive)
Sam: 89 + 2 = 91
Spirit: 64 + 9 = 73
Dusty: 65 + (9 x 2) = 83 (cheering used)
Dodi: 46 + 1 = 47 (inactive)
Sciuridae: 68 + (9 x 2) = 86 (cheering used)

Round 12 numbers:

2. 1
3. 8
4. 10

6. 5
7. 9
8. 2

Kong's Bonus: 1d100 = 24

"Aaaaaaaand he's done it! Putting up an excellent sjpw through the second half of this tournament, Sam ends on a crashing note but succeeds in delivering a powerful performance nonetheless. Already Tynamo's getting to know his new family very well, orbiting around DaveTheFishGuy and his welcoming committee. Oops - looks like Tynamo's a little shock-happy, discharging a few sparks against his new Trainer's cheek. But don't walk away, brave Trainers! No one is going to walk away from this event a loser! We thank all of you for being a part of this momentous investiture in Pokémon competition, and best wishes until next time!"

Placings:

1st Place: DaveTheFishGuy and Sam, the Carvanha

Also, if you'd like to provide feedback on how successful (or unsuccessful) this event was as a participant (or even as a spectator!), please do not hesitate to continue adding to this thread. It'll be helpful to me as a game designer to see if things need to be improved or refined!

Last but not least, once again - thank you for joining me this far, as well as to Stark for passing everything with invaluable feedback and his stamp of approval. Cheers!

Just as he gestures goodbye the scientist makes another pause. "Hold on - does anyone else hear strange rumbling?"

"... ... ... BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRP."

To anyone outside the stadium, they might have thought an earthquake hit - in truth, what happens is a massive, collective belch as the participants finally let go of their accumulated breath from speed-eating, collapsing to the ground in hearty, contented eructation.

"...Well! I guess I'm going to have to keep that in mind for next time. Better in than out!"

The cheering from the other trainers was almost deafening as the contest entered its final stage. Nonetheless, Dave kept his fingers crossed, hoping that Sam would be able to continue on and not be overtaken at the last second. The Carvanha didn't disappoint, keeping up his pace for most of the stage, chomping through the Poffins like no tomorrow. However, at the very end of the contest, he started to slow down, clearly exhausted from the strain of eating so much. Dave and his Pokémon could only look on as the competition started to close the gap, confidence boosted by their own trainers cheering them on. Looked like this was it, Sam had made a fantastic effort but it wasn't to be. Dave tried to suppress his disappointment as he fumbled with his pack, making ready to move as soon as he could recall the Carvanha.

A squeak from Gytha barely caught his attention. "I know, I know, it's alright." he muttered, still focused on his gear until a wide wing slapped him on the back courtesy of Sybil. "Hey! What was that for?" he winced, wheeling around to confront the Mantyke. The Flying-type simply glanced back at the contest. Dave followed her gaze, looking upward at the display to see which lucky trainer had won, only... "What?"

Top of the board, with a lead of five Poffins eaten, was Sam. Dave felt a huge wave of relief wash over him as he took the news in, scarcely able to believe it, while Gytha and Sybil floated over ahead of him. Even Rincewind, his head sticking out of his trainer's shirt, was excited, and after a moment Dave was able to summon the strength to walk on over to his victorious champion. In counterpoint to his usual gruff demeanour, Sam was pretty excited himself, eagerly welcoming his teammates as they congratulated him, forgoing his usual awkwardness around Sybil just as the Mantyke was putting her usual feelings of disdain toward him aside. As his trainer approached, the Dark-type launched himself toward the human, fins spread wide and an obviously happy grin etched into his powerful jaws. Still donning his thick gloves, Dave caught the Savage Pokémon in an embrace as the two Flying-types started to orbit them.

"Great job buddy! I knew you could do it!" Dave congratulated his piranha, Sam beaming in praise. "Guess I'd better get working on that year's supply of Luvdisc, huh?" Dave chuckled, all four Pokémon breaking into their approximation of a laugh along with him. However, a different noise caught all of their attention. A high-pitched squeak that wouldn't seem out of place in something... electronic. Looking up, Dave saw the source, the prize for the whole contest levitating in front of him. The Tynamo regarded him curiously before circling around the entire little group, his acrobatic skill even surpassing Gytha and Sybil.

"Hi Tynamo!" Dave offered. "I'll be your new trainer soon, then you can come home with all of us! Won't that be fun?" The EleFish instantly broke into what could only be a smile, albeit a little hard to read on a creature without real jaws. Sidling closer, the Electric-type rubbed against Dave's cheek, inadvertently discharging some sparks against the trainer, causing him to laugh. "Hey, that tickles! I wish I could take you home right now, but that's got to be done properly. You go back to Shadow for now, and I'll see you real soon, alright?" Tynamo nodded, turning and floating back to his temporary owner. "Right then, Sam, Sybil, you two relax. Thanks again for your hard work, both of you." Dave said to his Water-types, recalling them into their PokéBalls with a smile. "Right then, come on you two, I need to make a withdrawal at the Bank." the fisherman added, allowing Gytha to perch on his shoulder before heading for the nearest Candy deposit machine.

Yeah I wanted to RP it properly shh >>;

Anyways, wow! Really didn't think I'd win that. Things always tend to go balls-up for me at the last minute so that was a pretty awesome surprise. Thanks to everyone else for an intense little game - we all wanted the Tynamo but only one of us could win. I promise I'll take good care of him, if that's any consolation and I'm going to stop now before I sound like the condescending sore winner I'm trying to avoid.

Finally, thanks to Shadow for organising this whole thing, and Stark for advising him. It was refreshing to see something like this being done for a really popular Pokémon rather than the usual escalating bids. If When I get Egg House privileges and hatch something ultra-popular I'll be more than tempted to give it a whirl myself. To take the time to sort all this and update it regularly with painstaking detail is something I for one sincerely appreciate, thanks again man.

Anyway, I'd better head to the Cable Club at some point. Dave out.
