Yeah see what's indicative of the UK is that I'm not even impressed by how young they are.

Usually, militant atheists piss me off, but these t shirts are pretty great.

Favorite one without a doubt is that very first one of the Devil burying dinosaur fossils, making fun of the anti-science fundamentalist Christians who argue that the fossil record was put there by Satan to lead us astray.

"Teach the Controversy" is like the slogan for the teach intelligent design in schools crowd. All these t-shirts are explicitly mocking fundamentalist Christianity by comparison with other insane beliefs.
I am seriously tempted to get the Russels Teapot one.

That's nothing a few generations couldn't solve! That family could produce a super-model in about 27 years.

I guess I just didn't see it because I'm one of those Christians who love science and see no contradiction =p

*goes to upload a picture to Imgur*
*gets distracted by things other people have uploaded* "Hmm, let's see ..." Oh Jon. I could easily see this causing someone to have a heart attack. Good lord. Wow. You can find more like it here. Yeah, that's Power Girl for ya.

On the one hand, I feel terrible for posting this. On the other hand, it _is_ the "I'm going to hell" thread.

Don't. I had jelly and ice cream to celebrate her extinction.

Why? What exactly are you celebrating? Regardless of your opinion of her politics (and I'm not exactly her biggest fan over here), she died a harmless senile old woman. The one and only difference between her being alive and her being dead is that her children are in mourning.
Her death gains opponents of her politics precisely nothing, and means some people have to go through their mother dying. How can her death possibly be considered something worth celebrating in any way shape or form?

Pretty much my view, 'cept, though I completely understand why people are in such bad taste about this. That there have been street parties is a bit much, but watching Labour politicians condemn whilst a few of them secretly want to attend is quite fun.
Also today I forced my boss to stick to a line on the issue, which he had previously been avoiding, so her death grants me interview ammo. Woo! |

I don't want to derail this thread with the following smartass post, so I'll just link you to the thread like so and then submit my post here :
ITT: Deoxys is Hollywood Picard, Amras is TV series Picard.

Oh god, I remember that comic. Holy shit, it's been a while. And you're right, I do like it. Although watching it dubbed was odd. What made you think I was going to like that?

Man sings Guile theme a cappella
Videos like this never cease to amaze me. I can't imagine my cat giving it even two seconds, but videos like this make me wonder ... The Angry Video Game Nerd makes another film in the spirit of his Mr. Bucket film. As one commenter notes, "I bet the makers of this game never saw this video being made 20 years later."

Guile theme was cool but the bloody tears one is way better. And not just because I'm biased and I love that song (and its also in the UPN game 2).

I do think the story is interesting, and I definitely think the guy should, at some point, contact the family and be like "Hello! " It's possible that the story can even end happily for both parties, with the Iranian authorities wiring a designated bank in London the amount necessary (and designated by the London authorities) to get Dom a replacement MacBook Pro, recompensing him (as he has proof of his laptop's whereabouts) while letting the new family keep the laptop (as, frankly, it'd probably cost more than it's worth to ship the laptop back to Dom than to just have him buy a replacement. Several hundred quid, maybe, in S&H? Just have the guy buy a new laptop and let the Iranian family keep their black market acquisition ...) But despite thinking the story is interesting, I feel this is kind of ... mean of Dom, to go publishing these semi-candid photos of the family, in the privacy of their own home, for all the Internet to see. Sure, he's been very tasteful and respectful in his captions. And sure, he hasn't posted anything candid candid -- no nude pictures, no family quarrels, no evidence of the family performing activities that are illegal under Iranian law -- but still. Imagine if this happened to you. You buy a computer from your local electronics store of choice, happily take it home, hook it up to the Internet ... and surprise, you're now being spied on by some stranger 3,000 miles away. I dunno, I just feel bad for the family. I wouldn't want this happening to my family. I just hope all's well that ends well. Maybe they'll make friends with Dom and he'll become a British pen pal for them (whether for one month, one year, or a lifelong friendship). Maybe they'll get to show up on a British daytime talk show. Hoping for the best.

Ash sends female Unfezant back to Professor Oak in exchange for an old favorite.
Professor Oak comments that Swellow and Staraptor will be quite happy to see Unfezant. Swellow and Staraptor are both male. I think I'll be docked a point by St. Peter for what I imagined would happen afterwards. That poor, poor pheasant.
