Raid Boss Attack Summary:
Attack 1: Max Quake (130 BP)
Missingno. Master, Flabebe: 170 HP
Attack 2: Facade (70 BP)
TheKnightsFury, Sceptile: 346 HP
Attack 3: Ice Fang (65 BP)
Slash, Druddigon: 94 HP
Raid Challengers:
  • Zorchic, Lucario: 300 HP (Fully recovered)

  • Connor, Pancham: 300 HP (Torment, Spd -1)
  • Slash, Druddigon: 94 HP
  • Missingno. Master, Flabebe: 170 HP

After taking a brief moment to hammer through the rest of the boss' shields, one of the raiders once again applies a burn to the Morpeko, bringing its offenses down with a little help from one of the moves uses to bust the shields. Whimsicott Dynamaxes, unleashing a mighty Max Starfall that promptly covers the area in Misty Terrain before the remaining raiders unleash devastating attacks of their own. Unhappy, Morpeko uses a Max Quake, raising its defenses a bit before taking out its anger on the Mega Sceptile with a boosted Facade. Finally an Ice Fang strikes the Druddigon for a nasty hit, bringing it even further down. Morpeko's stomach rumbles as its form changes, becoming Hangry once more.

Dynamax Initiative: Prof.Enigma, Whimsicott.

Shouldn't I be at +1 attack?

Using Power-Up Punch (40 BP) once more into what I assume will be a shield.

Terri sighed- she'd forgotten that since the Lucario had fainted, its Trainer could elect to finish off the shield instead, and Reassure's Tackle had landed before he'd had a chance to do anything. That said, he was able to heal the Pancham, so perhaps that would be handy later on. Meanwhile, however, Terri and Help became more preoccupied with the massive Max Quake that Morpeko had launched right at the Flabébé! Help in particular gave kind of a shrieking gasp, almost involuntarily, but when the Max Move died down, the Fairy-type still floated in place. Even her flower was still in good shape. Clearly, the burn had a hand in this, making Terri very much grateful that Reassure wasn't the one on the business end of that Facade attack- now that looked nasty.

"Reassure! Are you OK?" called the Comfey.

"Y-yes, I am," confirmed Reassure. "Th-that was no picnic, but I can still fight!" Help breathed a sigh of relief at this, smiling as she looked on at the Single Bloom Pokémon. Seemingly unable to take her eyes off of her, in fact.

Terri smiled at her Flabébé's resolve and determination. "And so we shall," she stated. "Now, Reassure, use Dazzling Gleam!" she commanded.

"Yes, Terri!" replied Reassure, preparing to bombard the enormous Pikaclone with a flash of magical light. With no shields to hide behind this time, this was gonna hit hard. Sort of, anyway- Morpeko's boosted Special Defense was doing them no good, but Reassure's physical moves would hardly be any better off in this situation anyway.

OOC: Reassure used Dazzling Gleam (80 BP).

Dynamax Boss Morpeko
★★★★

Health Gauge: 48%
Shields Up: 4
Status: Burn, Atk +3, Sp.Atk +2, Sp.Def +2, Spd +1
Raider Status: Safeguard (1 Round)
Terrain: Misty (3 Rounds)

Trainer Recovery Summary:

Lil'twick, Togetic: Life Dew
Lil'twick, Togetic: 338 HP
Sandaa, Gallade: 400 HP
Prof.Enigma, Whimsicott: 500 HP
Missingno. Master, Flabebe: 264 HP
TheKnightsFury, Sceptile: Drain Punch
TheKnightsFury,Sceptile: 408 HP
Raid Boss Attack Summary:
Attack 1: Max Knuckle (90 BP)
Frof.Enigma, Whimsicott: 432 HP
Attack 2: Nasty Plot (0 BP)
Morpeko's Sp.Atk sharply rose!
Attack 3: Aura Wheel (110 BP)
Sandaa, Gallade: 212 HP
Raid Challengers:
  • Zorchic, Lucario: 300 HP
  • TheKnightsFury, Mega Sceptile: 408 HP (Sp.Atk -2)
  • Lil'twick, Togetic: 338 HP (Spd -1)
  • Sandaa, Gallade: 212 HP (Atk +3, Spd -1)
  • Prof.Enigma, Whimsicott: 500 HP (Dynamax [1 round])
  • Connor, Pancham: 300 HP (Torment, Spd -1)
  • Slash, Druddigon: 94 HP
  • Missingno. Master, Flabebe: 264 HP

The raiders opt to heal up while a few large attacks push into the boss to force Morpeko to put up shields again. Two more standard attacks and a Max Starfall then immediately churn through half of the boss' shields. Angered, the boss unleashes another Max Knuckle, striking its Dynamaxed foe for a resisted hit. A Nasty Plot raises Morpeko's special attack, but in its Hangry state it doesn't seem overly interested in using the boost just yet, opting to unleash its signature Aura Wheel for a massive blow... directly into Gallade, whose Justified causes a further raise in attack, though it does mean the boss gets a boost in speed. Once again chewing some seeds from its cheek, Morpeko's belly becomes full again.

Dynamax Initiative: Prof.Enigma, Whimsicott.
  • Trainers may only list 1 order per round. They are also permitted to using 1 item in lieu of an attack.
  • Dynamax Initiative will select a trainer at random. If a trainer has initiative, they may choose to Dynamax their Pokemon for a duration of 3 turns. Dynamaxed Pokemon may only select a Max Attack of a corresponding type from their registered moveset, or Max Guard in place of status moves.

  • If a hold item or ability’s effect is activated in the present round as a result of the previous round’s damage calculation or the present round’s orders, please state it clearly in your response.
  • Roleplaying your orders is optional, but $250 may be collected for responses of 250 words or greater, and Bond will accumulate only for the trainer’s active Pokemon in battle.

Seeing the Morpeko continually flip-flop between forms was quite a bit for Terri to take in, and when it went for such a powerful move against the Gallade, the young Trainer couldn't help but consult her Pokédex.

"Aura Wheel- Morpeko's special attack," droned the device. "Morpeko runs on a wheel made of pure energy, then sends the wheel rolling at its opponent. The move's type depends on its current form; in Full Belly Mode, Aura Wheel is Electric; in Hangry Mode, Aura Wheel is Dark."

"So that's why Lightning Rod didn't take effect here," Terri murmured, just as Morpeko satiated its hunger yet again and changed back into Full Belly Mode. And then, she saw the Mega Sceptile going for Worry Seed. She smiled- this would surely keep the Morpeko from changing form, no doubt its Hunger Switch Ability was what made it possible in the first place, and now that it had Insomnia, it was stuck with an Electric-type Aura Wheel that the Grass/Dragon-type would just suck up and take in as raw Special Attack.

That wasn't all Terri noticed, however- the Dynamaxed Whimsicott with beautiful rainbow horns had unleashed Max Starfall for major impact on the shield Morpeko had set up, and a Heat Wave from the Druddigon finished off said barrier. This was when the Togetic went in for a Play Rough and the Mega Sceptile had launched aforementioned Worry Seed. And now, Terri knew, it was their turn to have their say this round. "Now's our chance, Reassure!" she called to the Blue Flower Flabébé. "Dazzling Gleam, go!"

OOC: Reassure used Dazzling Gleam (80 BP; probably should have mentioned earlier, but she's holding Leftovers).

Dynamax Boss Morpeko
★★★★

Health Gauge: 38%
Shields Up: 0
Status: Burn, Atk +3, Sp.Atk +2, Sp.Def +2, Spd +1, Ability Change (Insomnia)
Raider Status: N/A
Terrain: Misty (2 Rounds)

Trainer Recovery Summary:

Sandaa, Gallade: Drain Punch
Sandaa, Gallade: 322 HP
Raid Boss Attack Summary:
Attack 1: Max Knuckle (90 BP)
TheKnightsFury, Mega Sceptile: 327 HP
Attack 2: Power Trip (20 BP)
TheKnightsFury, Mega Sceptile: 57 HP
Attack 3: Facade (70 BP)
TheKnightsFury, Mega Sceptile: 0 HP
Raid Challengers:
  • Zorchic, Lucario: 300 HP (Atk +1)
  • TheKnightsFury, Sceptile: 0 HP (Must sit out one round to recover)
  • Lil'twick, Togetic: 338 HP (Spd -1)
  • Sandaa, Gallade: 322 HP (Atk +3, Spd -1)
  • Prof.Enigma, Whimsicott: 259 HP
  • Connor, Pancham: 300 HP (Torment, Spd -1)
  • Slash, Druddigon: 94 HP
  • Missingno. Master, Flabebe: 300 HP

Further smashing Morpeko's shields, the raiders onslaught the boss with more debuffs and super-effective attacks, including a particularly strong draining move that helps to nearly top off Gallade. The Mega Sceptile tosses a Worry Seed at Morpeko, who happily attempts to chew upon the seed as it wraps itself around the boss' head, changing its ability to Insomnia. Shifting its attention away from the seed, the boss strikes into the very same Mega Sceptile with a strong Max Knuckle. And then again with an absolutely devastating Power Trip. And as if that wasn't horrible enough, it finishes the creature off with a Facade. Staring around a moment, Morpeko is a bit confused as its belly doesn't empty before turning its attention to the remaining raiders as Whimsicott grows much, much smaller.

Dynamax Initiative: Expired

With Worry Seed in effect, Morpeko was no longer getting ravenous every few minutes, and was staying in Full Belly Mode. This had brought Terri some peace of mind, knowing this would lock its Aura Wheel into being an Electric move, and therefore absolutely useless to it. Moreover, the fact that Sceptile had pretty much solved Morpeko's hunger problem surely meant the Mega Evolved lizard had earned itself a bit of leniency from the Dynamaxed Pikaclone, right?

Nope.

After the shields went down, after the attacks landed, Morpeko started attacking again, and this time every blow was directed right at the Mega Sceptile. A Max Knuckle, incurring yet another Attack boost. A Power Trip, a normally weak move turned ridiculously strong by all the stat boosts Morpeko had built up. And a Facade, made stronger by the burn that had otherwise been holding back the power of Morpeko's physical attacks. And as the dust settled, there lay Sceptile, totally unconscious, no longer Mega Evolved.

Reassure squeaked nervously at the sight. If Morpeko was able to inflict such grievous harm upon such a strong, formidable, Mega Evolved Pokémon, what could it do to her? Terri could see the blue flower trembling along with its holder, and so could Help, for it was the Comfey who finally removed herself from around Terri's neck and flew over to the frightened Flabébé. "Reassure..." murmured Help.

"I... I can't do this," squeaked Reassure. "It's too strong, it'll crush me into the dust, I... I..."

What were about to be frightened sobs were cut short before they began as the Comfey gently took hold of one of Reassure's hands, prompting the Single Bloom Pokémon to look at her fellow Fairy-type; Help was smiling, well, reassuringly at Reassure. "You can do this," said Help, kindly yet firmly. "I know what it's like to be daunted by larger opponents, but with Sceptile knocked out, that's all the more reason to not give up. Everyone else here is gonna be relying on all the help they can get. Special Defense boost or not, that thing's taking big damage from your beautiful Dazzling Gleams. You've been crucial to how well this has been going so far, Reassure. I know you got it in you to keep it going." And before the Flabébé could even think of a response to this, the Comfey then floated in close, and with neither of them having actually planned for this to happen, the pair of floral Fairy-types exchanged a brief yet beautiful kiss.

As Help backed away, Reassure was rendered speechless, her face going redder than an Electrode's ass as she tried to process what had just happened. Moments later, however, the brave look was back, and looking braver than ever before as she turned to face Morpeko once more. Suddenly, this seemed a lot more doable to her somehow.

Help floated back over to Terri, chuckling sheepishly in response to the knowing smile the Comfey was getting from her Trainer- Terri had seen something like this coming for a while now. Terri then gave a nod, then turned her attention back to the battle. "Let's go, Reassure!" she declared. "Use Dazzling Gleam!"

OOC: Reassure used Dazzling Gleam (80 BP; will recover HP via held Leftovers (if she takes damage, anyway)).
