In response to Sheik's attempts at intimidation, several Cubchoo bared their fangs and snarled back, while a couple others tried a different tactic by pleading with the pup to 'play nicely'. The old dog didn't fall for the new trick though, instead sending a flurry of flames their way to keep the cubs at bay. Meanwhile, the leader of the bear brigade unleashed another bellow as it battled against another trainer's Squirtle and Jet's Skarmory, dribbling the former's shell into the ground like a basketball while batting the birdie out of the blue by a racquet of ice, knocking both out simultaneously. Jess watched in horror as the metallic flier fell to the earth with a crash, alarmed by the enemy's strength and reemphasizing they needed to get Primrose to safety, stat. Fortunately, their brave efforts had bought enough time for the carriage to realign itself on a route circumventing the other icicle pillar, setting course straight for the village. Jess glanced back at the field, where Jet had released his Staraptor to take its fallen brethren's place. She bit her lip, agreeing with the assessment that the Beartic should be prevented from progressing at all costs, but also fearing for the girl's wellbeing without someone to watch over her. Thus she chose to continue to stand guard with the wagon, calling out to her Houndour: "Sheik, I'll be going on ahead to get help. Can you handle things here for now?" An affirmative bark, and Jess nodded in thanks as the coach sped off again towards the town to find shelter and reinforcements. When they arrived though, the streets seemed strangely quiet, and an eerie emptiness pervaded everywhere they went. When the road grew too narrow for the caravan to traverse, Poppy dismounted and determinedly carried on by foot, carrying Miss Primrose on his aged back as they searched desperately for a medical doctor. Jess kept close, increasingly wary of their silent surroundings, until they reached the central square where they stumbled upon the sight of the townsfolk residents all lying down in the snow. At first she panicked upon thinking they had perished (flashing back once again to the frozen corpses in her memory), but upon checking their pulse and respiration it seemed they were all simply in a deep sleep, blanketed by white like some scene from a fairytale. Just then, they heard a rustle coming from one of the storefronts, as a Smoochum suddenly crawled out of a broken window, sporting what appeared to be a festoon of stolen jewelry. Another pair of baby pink dolls with bloated bellies emerged from the bakery, as even more streamed in from the backstreets, smiling wickedly as they opened their mouths and began to harmonize a haunting melody, so soft and soothing Jess could barely keep her eyes open. She dimly heard Poppy shout into his walkie-talkie for assistance before slipping into slumber himself, passing out along with Miss Primrose on his back. Jess blinked as she gazed at the sleeping beauty beside her, barely registering that she had to do something fast before she fell victim to the same fate. Struggling to stay alert, she reached for the Were Ball containing her lifeline, the last "link" to consciousness... As the Poochyena appeared, he immediately detected the danger his trainer was in and raised his own head, HOWLing loudly to drown out the lullaby. Jess beamed weakly at him in appreciation, still woozy but wakened somewhat by the sound. "Thanks. Let's try to clear out these guys quickly so we can help the others. Hit 'em with a DARK PULSE, followed by a SHADOW BALL."

"Maasa, use your amnesia, odour sleuth and earthquake to finish off anymore and make sure the others don't come running." Alice said, directing her little piggy to make a final move on any leftovers that the fissure might have missed. She hoped at least that the widespread attack would be enough to either knock out or dizzy any leftovers, as deep blue eyes had an interest in one of the species being attracted by the fairy some distance away. Gloved hands fumbled, first to get up and then to retrieve the vibrant pink and green pokedex from her inventory. "Okay, Dexter, help me out here. Find me a male Snorunt if you can." Alice requested, holding the device up and hoping it could snipe a target out through the weather. She could see the Cryogonal closing in, too - another thing to worry about given Mega Glalie causing more trouble than the Frosslass it had in tow. Perhaps it was selfish, but she wanted one of those little tent creatures, and then perhaps she could help take down more of the bigger beasties than they already had...

Palmier giggled as the noxious smelling smoke caused the Cubchoo to cough. Athena smiled, at least he was having fun. His enjoyment lasted until he was hit with a jet of water, toppling him over and making the flame on his head sizzle. "Palmier!" Athena cried out. She jumped over the side of the sleigh and attempted to make her way over to her Pokemon. "Are you ok? Maybe this was a bad idea-" Palmier stopped her by holding up a small, wax hand. She slid a bit on the ice, but didn't take another step. Could she trust her Litwick? They hadn't been together long, and she wouldn't want to have him get hurt for being overconfident. She looked over to the Squirtle and Skarmory that had met the Beartic's wrath. At the same time, they weren't alone. There were other trainers with their Pokemon working hard to take down their opponents. Athena felt a rush of guilt wash over her, she hadn't done much at all, and she had even wasted time capturing that Vulpix. "Wick!" Palmier cried out, bringing Athena back to reality. The harsh wind was blowing the little candle in all directions, but he was trying his best to stay grounded. "Ok Palmier! Center yourself with Calm Mind!" The trainer directed. She took a couple deep breaths of her own, sharpening her focus. "Try to get Beartic to flinch with Astonish. Then get it caught in a Fire Spin! I believe in you!" She pumped her fist up in the air to punctuate her sentence. Palmier cheered, looking to be re-energized by his trainer's energy. Athena felt her heart swell as her bond with her Pokemon increased. |

"Nick, see that Snorunt you put on fire? That's our target. Get in close and beat it down with an Iron Tail. Then put a point blank Flamethrower to it's face. The try to put it to sleep with a Hypnosis," Austin ordered while he fidgeted around his back. He knew he put that there... It just had to be there. He finally was able to produce a red and white orb from within his bag. He tossed it up and down in his hand, gettign a feel for the Pokeball. it was a while since he last caught a Pokemon like this, so he hoped his aim wasn't too bad. "Nick, when you're done with your orders, I'm gonna try to catch that one. There's bigger fish here to fry, and it seems more powerful back up has just arrived. Besides, I don't feel like wasting too much time on one Snorunt. We've got things to do here," he told his Ninetales, who nodded as he prepared to execute his new set of orders. After that, Austin would throw the Poke Ball in his hands and try to catch the Snorunt.

“Oh my god these are so cute too!!!!” She leaps out of the carriage, ignoring the large imposing Beartic and runs up to the Cubchoo that are causing their own havoc. “Aya, you’re going to help me catch one of these as well…! Aya?” Once again, she realizes that Aya is not at her side. Unlike her trainer, Aya immediately picked up on the serious threat that was the Beartic and knew that she needed to help immediately. She was one of the newer members in Patches’ team but one thing she has already picked up on is that Patches is a little slow on the uptake and since this was an emergency she knew she had to take things into her own hands for the time being. The shiny Furret was small but she was also confident in her abilities and knew that even if it was only a little bit, she could still be of some use. She needed to help quickly so she was going to use her Agility to increase her speed through the snow. She was going to run right up to that Beartic and dig her Super Fangs into it and then smash it with an Iron Tail! Claiming my lv. 15 male Alolan Vulpix, naming him Noel, and declaring his ability to be Snow Cloak.

The Abominable Snowdown A Cloud Garden Winter Campaign Town: Ironthunder, Raves, Patches, morningstar, lilbluecorsola, OkikuMew, Median Dia, CyberBlastoise, Schala, biggggg5, PikaGod, Rotom310 There was a kind of silent chaos in Galea Town as a bevy of Smoochum looted the small family-owned businesses while the citizens of the village were knocked out cold both metaphorically and literally. As Poppy’s warning and plea for help echoed across the walkie-talkies before being put to sleep, trainers quickly hurried in the spare carriage, hoping to restore order in Galea Town. As the second carriage pulled into the city, there was an eerie atmosphere, almost like they were in a ghost town. The trainers disembarked and made their way into the town square where they spotted a number of sleeping residents, including Poppy and Primrose, and like the gardener and heiress their arrival seemed to draw the mischievous Smoochum out of their hiding places in various storefronts. “Smoo! Smoo!” they cried, ready to chase the newcomers out of the town, or at least let them join everyone else in slumber. However, the trainers were ready and packed with Pokemon to put a stop to the thieves. Megas the Golett was first to make an appearance, the spectral golem standing tall over the Smoochum. It kicks up a pair of Mud Slaps that covers the Smoochum in dirt as well as the scarf she had stolen. With her image ruined, Smoochum turns in anger and runs up to it, Licking the Golett. Megas shuddered, feeling a sudden chill as its joints locked up in paralysis. As Smoochum examined the now stiff opponent, she was about to leave to go clean up before Megas suddenly raised its arms and Astonished her with a quick startle. The next Smoochum to find an opponent was a rather chubby one who had just finished robbing the grocer. As she prepared to sink her teeth into an Apicot Berry, she felt a sharp pain. Whipping around, Smoochum came face to face the small Caterpie known as Calem who had given her a painful Bug Bite, stealing her meal in the process. Calem quickly went in for a couple more Bug Bites, causing the Smoochum to squeal in pain and discomfort. Angered by the assault, she blasted Calem back with psychic energy, but the Confusion seemed to do less than expected as Calem was feeling the effects of the Apicot Berry that was eaten. Geddy the Tynamo hovered out of his Pokeball and stares down a Smoochum of his own. Crackling with electricity, the small eel fired off a Charge Beam that knocked back the Smoochum. However, instead of retaliating with her own attack, Smoochum went up to Geddy and gave him a Sweet Kiss on the cheek. Geddy looked around confused by the turning of the other cheek before firing off another Charge Beam, slightly more powerful than the one before. Geddy then followed it up with a third blast, the strongest Charge Beam of the three hitting Smoochum for good damage before she finally retaliated with a hard-hitting Pound. Wrapping up the town’s rescue mission was a pair of trainers who hoped to rouse the citizens from their slumber. Jess hurried over to Primrose’s aid, helping prop up the young girl’s weak body while she dreamt. As she did so, Link the Poochyena kept guard and Howled intimidatingly. Next to Jess was Mélina, who pulled out a Blue Flute and began to play a rousing melody. As the tune echoed across the town square, the song didn’t seem to be as effective as it would have on a sleeping Pokemon, but the townsfolk seemed to begin stirring in their sleep gradually. Attracted to the noise, a group of Smoochum converged on the two trainers. Link blasted a couple of Smoochums back with a Dark Pulse followed by a Shadow Ball while Mélina’s Eevee Lune returned to action to bat her Baby-Doll Eyes to lower a Smoochum’s guard and followed it up with a Bite. The Smoochums squealed in pain and retaliated with a chilling Powder Snow. With the Smoochum’s numbers beginning to thin out as several of them fell in combat, some of the villagers had finally woken up due to the combined noise of the commotion and the flute playing. “Let’s get these pests out of here!” some of the villagers shouted while others lamented their property damage that the Smoochum had caused. A few of their Pokemon appeared, a Meowth, Lillipup, and Glameow started chasing some of the thieves away while a pair of angry older ladies used brooms. “What happened…” Poppy groggily asked as he slowly got to his feet and regained his bearings. “Young Miss! Is she okay?” he thanked the trainers for their rescue and quickly called over a local doctor. “She doesn’t look good, but it’s not too late,” he commented, examining Primrose. “Let’s hurry and get her over to my clinic.” The trainers were finally able to let out a sigh of relief as Primrose had been escorted to safety. ~~~~~~~ Meanwhile, not all was rosy as the Beartic continued its march towards town. As buildings appeared on the horizon, a few trainers hurried after it to try and delay the beast further. Looking to stop the accompanying Cubchoo as well, Attila the Larvitar ran up to the one she had been fighting and Crunched down on it hard. Before Cubchoo could retaliate, Alex quickly pulled out an all-white Pokeball fittingly known as a Snow Ball and hurled it at the bear. It pulled the Cubchoo inside, vigorously shaking once… twice… three times… before coming to a complete halt with a successful “Ding!” Congratulations, Alex has captured a lv.13 male Cubchoo! With the Beartic ignoring its opponents and continuing down its path, Khione hurried after it and smacked it in Pursuit for solid damage before attempting to trip up the large polar bear with a Low Kick. The Beartic roared in discomfort before turning to swat her away with a Super Powerful strike. Khione went flying, landing in the snowbank as her entire body reeled in pain. Beartic seemed to begin panting a little bit, but it continued its march regardless. Aya the Furret darted forward with great Agility, running up to the Beartic and bit into its flank with her Super sharp Fangs. Beartic roared in anger, turning to face the Furret and Crash a pillar of Icicles on her for great damage. After getting up from the hard hit from earlier, Palmier the Litwick began to Calm his Mind before hoping to Astonish the Beartic with a distracting startle. However, Beartic ignored him and continued marching forward. Annoyed, Palmier blew forth a ring of Fire that Spun around the Beartic and trapped it inside. As the snow melted around it, Beartic let loose another bellowing roar of discomfort before blasting through the fire with a quick Aqua Jet, ramming into the candle Pokemon once again. Palmier fell over, defeated. Stepping up to try and slow the beast next, Attila let loose a deafening Screech to get its attention. As Beartic glared at the Larvitar and covered its ears, Khione ran up and Punched Beartic, Powering herself Up in the process. Aya looked to get revenge next, smacking Beartic with a hard Iron Tail as Attila brought up the rear with an Iron Head. Not to be outdone, Jet’s Staraptor hit Beartic with a powerful Close Combat. Beartic roared angrily and began glowing blue once again before releasing an Avalanche of snow at the four attackers. Attila, Aya, and Jet’s Staraptor hung on, critically weakened, while Khione unfortunately succumbed to her wounds from earlier. ~~~~~~~ Beartic drew ever closer to the town as a number of lights illuminated the horizon. The townspeople had chased out most of the Smoochum and were still battling the rest while a few others had learned of the Beartic’s presence and prepared to hold it off. Their Pokemon hurried into the fray as a few Growlithe and Machop looked to intercept the Cubchoo. Beartic let out another booming roar as the sky turned dark. With the sun beginning to slip beyond the horizon, pellets of Hail began to fall from the sky. Beartic seemed to benefit from the weather effect immensely, appearing faster than ever as it Rushed through the Slush towards the town. “This is our last stand guys!” Jet called out, “We’ve gotta stop the Beartic here, or else who knows what it’ll do to the town!” With the Smoochum and Cubchoo mostly taken care of, all that remains is the looming Beartic! Time is running out before it reaches town, so it’s now or never. If you wish to make any captures in any of the previous [Town] areas this is your last chance, so have a Pokeball ready to go! It is strongly encouraged that you attempt to take down the Beartic! The more Pokemon that gang up on it, the easier it’ll be!

The Abominable Snowdown A Cloud Garden Winter Campaign Waterfall - Maskerade, Ex-Admiral Insane, Missingo. Master, GeminiSpark, Naruxami, 134, TheKnightsFury, Sandaa, Meetan, Lil'twick, myahoo The chaotic battle was continuing everywhere. The Mega Glalie didn’t seem to be having any issue keeping up with the attacks that were coming its way. Not all of the trainers were able to focus on fighting Glalie because of the wild Pokemon that were adding to the challenge. After taking down the Vanilluxe, Jayson returns his Pokemon and brings out Odysseus the Magneton. Odysseus immediately goes after one of the nearest Cryogonal that had fallen from the sky and launches a series of Magnet Bomb’s that attach themselves to the Cryogonal’s body before promptly blowing up. Having noticed the direction that the bombs had come from, the Cryogonal now sets its sights on Odysseus and Rapidly Spins into them. While the Cryogonal was close, Odysseus hurls a second group of Magnet Bombs at the Pokemon. Once again, the bombs explode injuring the snowflake quite a bit. Now that it’s quite upset, the Cryogonal retaliates with a Night Slash which is a critical blow on Odysseus and then immediately attacks him with several Ice Shards hurting Odysseus even further. Not about to be outdone, Odysseus blasts the Cryogonal with a Flash Cannon which, due to analytic, the attack is even more powerful. The Cryogonal falls into the snow and clearly wants to continue fighting but before it has the chance, Jayson throws his pokeball and its pulled inside. The ball shakes back and forth a few times but eventually it gives that satisfying click. Congratulations, Jayson has captured a lv. 13 Cryogonal! Nearby, after becoming enamored with the Cryogonal who had entered the fight, Keith decided to change his strategy and pulled back from Glalie in order to set his sights on one. Meowth was given the opportunity to take one of the Cryogonal on so he charged up to the nearest one that didn’t already have an opponent and clenches his fist and hits it hard with a Power-Up Punch. Because of Meowth’s ability of technician the attack seemed to land extra hard. The Cryogonal has an instant reflex and attempts to blast Meowth with a Sheer Cold wind but fortunately, Meowth moved out of the way just in the nick of time and retaliated with a dose of Punishment which was powered up by the Cryogonal’s raised attack. The Cryogonal Sharpens itself again and then launches Ice Shards at Meowth dealing a bit of damage before Meowth leaps toward it and begins to Furiously Swipe at the Cryogonal’s body. It attempts to shake Meowth off but has no such luck and is beginning to look a bit worn down. Keith sees this as an opportunity and throws his Christmas ball at the Cryogonal who immediately gets pulled into the ball which causes Meowth, who was once clinging to its body, to drop into the deep snow. The ball almost looked like it had festive snowflakes flying out of it as it pulled the Cryogonal in, but because of the blizzard it was hard to tell if that was just an illusion. The ball begins to shake and for just a moment it almost seems like it’s going to pop back out, but it doesn’t! The ball successfully clicks. Congratulations, Keith has captured a lv. 15 Cryogonal! Also nearby was a Snorunt who had just finished putting out some flames that had managed to take hold on its scarf. But Nick the Ninetales wasn’t about to let it off that easy. While the Snorunt wasn’t paying attention, it was suddenly slammed into with Nick’s Iron Tail and sent rolling through the snow. It stands up and Leers at Nick only to see that the Ninetale’s is coming in close so it works hard to keep the distance. Nick attempts a close up Flamethrower but wasn’t close enough for the attack to stay strong so the Snorunt is only hit by a few Embers instead. This doesn’t matter though because after being on fire earlier, the Snorunt was looking worse for wear. In a final attempt to fight back, the Snorunt Bites down on Nick’s paw but is then quickly put to sleep with a Hypnosis. That is when Austin takes the opportunity to throw a pokeball which pulls the sleeping Snorunt inside. Because it was sound asleep, it wasn’t really going to put up much of a fight so the ball only wiggles once before it clicks. Congratualtions, Austin captured a lv. 12 female Snorunt! With Morgana the Incineroar nowhere to be seen, Isaac begins to panic and frantically searches for them. Vander the Zangoose Leers at the nearby Cryogonal in hopes of intimidating them enough to stay away. As Isaac digs through snow, the Cryogonal blows an Icy Wind at Zangoose which causes the wind surrounding them to kick up as well which blows away a lot of the snow the avalanche caused. Morgana’s head is eventually exposed and although he’s completely knocked out, it seems they are going to be fine. Tate, who felt that they were being threatened by one of the Snorunt, was quickly protected by Pahalo the Mandibuzz who intimidated the Snorunt with her Scary Face. Once the Pokemon was made aware of the Mandibuzz, it was hit full force by the Brave Bird who also took some damage herself in the process. The Snorunt kicks up some Powdery Snow with a gust of wind and hits Pahalo for a significant amount of damage. In retaliation, Pahalo dishes it back with a Steel Wing showing the Snorunt what a super effective move feels like. The Snorunt is definitely hurting now. Tate’s pokedex finishes up with explaining what a Snorunt is and then suddenly notifies Tate that this Snorunt is a female. Glalie wasn’t finding any of this challenging, in fact, it was almost boring to him. The few Pokemon who had attacked him weren’t able to put so much as a dent into him. Thinking about that Yawn from earlier, Glalie was briefly tempted by sleep but snapped out of it once he saw Guntz smash his Iron Head into Froslass which reminded him of what that Clefable had done earlier. Froslass was in a great deal of pain from that blow and Glalie could see it. Before Glalie had a chance to retaliate, that was when things took a major change. Rorik had just finished a very important dance and Guntz was now grinning with confidence. A massive energy was being collected during that dance and now it was time to release it. The Glalie had just taken a deep inhale in preparation for some attack but ultimately never had the chance to use it because at that moment, Guntz unleashes his Bloom Doom! A large beam of light shoots out of the Snorlax and is aimed directly where Glalie and Froslass are located. Sensing the danger, Glalie quickly knocks Froslass out of the way and then the beam of light crashes directly into the place where Glalie is hovering. Suddenly there is a very bright and huge explosion that is impossible for anyone to miss; the snow that had collected on the ground where the attack hit was now flying every which way, revealing the grass below for only a brief second before that was ripped away as well, forming a crater in the ground. The surrounding trainers and Pokemon, friend or foe, struggled to keep their balance, some completely falling over while being pelted with the large amount of snow that was lifted from the ground in addition to the blizzard that was already there. Many of the smaller Pokemon were forced off their feet because they didn’t have enough weight to withstand the force of the winds coming from the attack. Everything that had been happening up to this point was completely flipped upside down due to the massive attack. Eventually, when it finally settled down, Glalie’s eyes could be seen glowing with rage. Although Froslass was not in a position to have received a direct hit, the force of the attack had thrown her very far away from Glalie. Glalie lets out a roar louder than any of the others that were heard before. The ground shakes from the sound, the storm grows even stronger, the severely Icy Winds begin to damage every single Pokemon and to make matters worse, the Hail becomes even more severe. Glalie has finally been weakened, he is no longer bored but instead he is filled with an overwhelming desire to take every single Pokemon down that opposes him, more than ever before. Guntz attempts to heal up with Soft-Boiled but there is no way that Glalie is going to allow that to happen after what he just did. Glalie blasts the Snorlax with an Ice Beam that is so powerful from Glalie’s rage that even his thick fat doesn’t manage to protect him enough so sure enough, he goes down. Raphael the Blastoise had been pushed back several feet due to the blast but was still standing since he was heavy and had already grounded himself before it happened. Before Glalie has a chance to take his rage out on anyone else, Raphael blasts him with an Aura Sphere. The attack clearly stung and before even turning toward the source, Glalie begins to use Double Team, moving around rapidly in order to create illusions of multiple Mega Glalie’s. Raphael shoots off a Flash Cannon but the attack goes right through one of the holograms. Suddenly, the real Glalie rushes at Raphael and tries to sink his Icy Fangs into him but Raphael Counters the move, dishing back double the pain. Glalie then unleashes a Blizzard at point blank range which mixes with the storm and smashes into Raphael’s chest at full force knocking him completely off his feet and backwards into the snow so that now he is laying on his shell. The Glalie is staring at the Blastoise with a look of bloodlust in its eyes when suddenly he is being pelted by some sort of Ancient Power coming from another direction. After increasing his Iron Defense, Mar the Aron, who was being pelted repeatedly in the head by Hail, used his attack to draw the Glalie away from Raphael. Despite his small size, his weight had prevented him from getting blown away by the explosive attack earlier and he certainly seemed ready for a fight. Froslass was tired of seeing Glalie getting ganged up on and used a Confuse Ray on Mar and suddenly Mar wasn’t feeling too great. Despite this, he was still wanting to fight so he went to use his Rock Slide on his two opponents but in his confusion, he ended up burying himself under a pile of rocks instead. Seeing the Aron use his own attack on himself caused the Glalie to feel a small sense of triumph, making him forget about having a specific target and so he went back to making the entire Blizzard stronger. Silas the Houndoom had completely lost his opponent in the blast. He had just managed to use his Rock Smash to break out of the ice cage right before the Z-Move was launched, but hadn’t had the chance to do much else before the winds completely separated him and Sandslash. After having been tossed around, he finally finds his way back onto his feet just to be pelted by a combination of the Blizzard and the Hail, then there were the Icy Winds that weren’t making things any better. Eventually, he reunites with his trainer and the rest of the team and nearby is now the Sealeo who was badly damaged and had earlier fallen inside of the Fissure. There is no knowing exactly how it managed to get out, that powerful attack really changed things around. With Sandslash nowhere in sight, Silas decides to turn the strategy toward the Sealeo. He uses his Gummi Bomb on the Sealeo and the Sealeo’s attention is immediately grabbed so it shoots a Water Gun at Silas causing an incredible amount of damage on the Houndoom. But then, Silas calls on his friends and it’s suddenly ganged up on by not only Silas but also a Rapidash, Flareon, and Froslass who all manage to Beat it Up until it’s completely knocked out. Maasa the Swinub had just finished raising his special defenses with Amnesia when suddenly he was completely blow away right into Alice from the blast. The Pokemon was now in his trainers arms as the two of them flew through the snow, Alice landed on something uncomfortable but didn’t have time to check before both Maasa and Alice noticed an Alolan Sandslash charging right for them. With Alice still in the snow, Maasa leaped off and used Odor Sleuth knowing that the Sandslash needed to be stopped and immediately began to use Earthquake which certainly does manage to stop it, completely. The Sandslash is now knocked out but the Earthquake also managed to hurt both Raphael and Mar who were nearby. Now that the Swinub’s adrenaline was calming down, it was starting to feel the damaging effects of being pelted by the Hail and snowy Blizzard even with being ice himself the storm was a lot to handle. That wasn’t all though, there was a muffled squealing sound coming from under Alice and when she finally stood up there was a Snorunt that she had landed on. Continuing where she had left off before being rudely thrown off her feet, she scans it with her Pokedex and it reveals that this one was indeed a male. Both Froslass and Glalie begin to use Double Team in order to create many images of themselves all over the place. The trainers and their Pokemon almost appear to be surrounded by copies of the two. Athena has still been doing her best to lure the smaller wild Pokemon away from the other trainers with her Mawile’s Sweet Scent and has at this point begun to singlehandedly hold the majority of them off so that everyone else can focus on overwhelming the Mega Glalie and Froslass. “Keep it up everyone!! It’s angrier than ever but that’s only because we’re beating it! Don’t give up!” She shouts words of encouragement that seem to be drowned out by the sound of the storm, barely reaching anyone’s ears. The sun has also begun to set, slowly taking away the light that has aided everyone in being able to see through the thick snow and hail that is constantly blowing. With it getting darker and the weather worse than ever, the Glalie needs to be taken down soon since no person or Pokemon can withstand this type of storm for long. Please make sure again to use 1 pokemon and up to 3 moves. If you wish to make any captures in the [Waterfall] area this is your last chance, so have a Pokeball ready to go! At Keith's command, Meowth charged forward, landing a picture-perfect Power-Up Punch on the Cryogonal of choice. Technician being Meowth's Ability, the super effective Fighting move hit even harder than it normally would have done, and it certainly caught Cryogonal's attention, to say the least. The Ice-type's reflexive action was noticed by Keith, and identified for what it was. "That's Sheer Cold!" Keith exclaimed, having seen Glalie use that same move moments ago. "Meowth, dodge it!" "Yeah!" Meowth grunted, lunging out of the way of the blast of frigid energy that would have meant an instant knockout. His dodge was swift and very timely- the attack had missed completely. "All right!" Keith grinned. "Meowth, now use Punishment!" "Take dat!" Meowth cried out, lunging at Cryogonal, his claws glowing black as he took a single great swipe at the sentient snowflake. The attack hit hard, harder than it would have done by default, powered up by the Cryogonal's own attempt at increasing its attack power. Keith grinned- this attack was what allowed him to win the first round of the ultimately ill-fated Summershine Cup, and was easily Meowth's best answer to anything that relied on powering itself up. But by no means was Cryogonal deterred by this. Sharpening itself once more, it unleashed a swift and well-aimed Ice Shard. Meowth couldn't avoid this one, so quickly was the attack launched- a fact that Keith couldn't help but notice and be impressed by. "Meowth, you OK?" Keith asked. "I'm good!" Meowth confirmed with a nod, not taking his eyes off the Cryogonal. "Glad to hear it!" Keith nodded back. "Meowth, use Fury Swipes!!" Meowth said nothing, merely grinning as he extended his claws once more, and lunged. He jumped onto Cryogonal, repeatedly swiping at it with great ferocity. The Crystallizing Pokémon was trying to shake Meowth off, but due to its growing tiredness, was failing to do so. Also a fact Keith couldn't help but notice. This was it. And Keith knew it, too. Poison-types were his specialty and his passion, but by no means did this exclude the other types. Few Ice-types caught Keith's eye the way the uniquely interesting and formidable Cryogonal had done. Keith remembered the first time he ever saw a Cryogonal- his friend Hyrem had sent one out in the Bar many years ago, explaining that he'd hatched it from an Egg, but wasn't planning on keeping it. Had the PC storage restrictions been different in those days, Keith would have made an offer for it on the spot. Alas, he hadn't had the chance, no Eggs he cared for ever yielded one, no Cryogonal appeared before him in the wild, and every time a Cryogonal had been offered for trade, other Trainers had jumped on it. Trainers with more PC space, more to offer, always leaving Keith in the dust. That. Ended. Now. It was with a grin on his face, a gleam in his eye, and no small amount of personal satisfaction that Keith enlarged the Christmas Ball in his right hand while using his left hand to turn his hat backwards. "Cryogonal... You're mine at last!" Keith declared, holding the Christmas Ball out in front of him. Then, he drew his right arm back... "Now! Go, Christmas Ball!" Keith yelled, hurling the sphere forward. The sphere struck the sentient snowflake and sucked it inside. It fell to the ground just as Meowth had done (for he had still been holding onto Cryogonal). Keith watched intently as the Christmas Ball wobbled around in the snow... he'd thrown it too soon... it would surely break out... No! These concerns turned out to be completely baseless, as Keith realized when the ball stopped shaking, giving that telltale sound to signify a successful capture. Meowth approached Keith, Christmas Ball clutched in front paws, and held it up. Keith, grinning, accepted the now-occupied sphere, and stared at it for a second. "...All right!" Keith cheered, holding the ball up high. "I just caught... a Cryogonal!" "Meowth, dat's right!" Meowth chimed in. But now was far from the time to continue carrying on in such a fashion- not long after the ball vanished, signaling Keith's Cryogonal's journey to the PC Storage System, a massive blast blew everyone backwards, Keith and Meowth included. Even Vinny had to struggle to keep his footing. "Damn, hat man!" the Camerupt exclaimed. "Glalie ain't too pleased!" That was an understatement, Keith realized. The weather was worsening. Harsher hail, more damaging and hindering Icy Winds, and Glalie looked enraged and battle-ready. But Keith was ready for battle, too. Even after seeing Rorik's powerful Snorlax go down, the intense cold was doing nothing to extinguish the Poison-type Trainer's fighting spirit. Even if Athena's words of encouragement were rendered nearly inaudible over the storm, Keith was as ready to go as if he'd heard them loud and clear. "Alright!" he shouted to make himself heard to Meowth. "Now, Meowth, let's take on Glalie! Cryogonal should have been a perfectly good warm-up for you- now let's put all that to use!" "Right!!" Meowth shouted back to Keith. Keith nodded. "Let's go!" he shouted. "Meowth, give it a Feint Attack, and follow up with Iron Tail!" "I'm on it!!" Meowth practically screeched to make himself heard. And after that, Keith started to move his arms. "Now, Meowth!!" he bellowed, the gleam of the Poisonium Z set into his Z-Ring shining even through the harsh winter weather. "Let's do it!" Meowth agreed, mimicking the movements Keith was making. Keith made the movements, the same movements he made every time he did this. "Our minds, our spirits, linked as one!" he bellowed. "A power as intense as the Plague Swamp of Cascadia! Feel the poison- BE the poison!" "Dat's right!!!" Meowth responded as the Z-Power flowed into him, flowed from the Poisonium Z into the Scratch Cat Pokémon, powering up his Gunk Shot into something far more powerful. "Let's go! Use Acid Downpour!!!" Keith shouted. Code:
Meowth surrounded itself with its Z-Power! Meowth unleashes its full-force Z-Move! ... Acid Downpour Code:
Keith used Christmas Ball! ---- ... ... ... ** All right! Cryogonal was caught! Last edited by Missingno. Master; 12-18-2017 at 02:24 AM. |

The Professor fell to his knees at the same time that Guntz hit the floor, unconscious. Seeing his dearest partner collapse from injuries that Rorik had knowingly exposed him to was heart-wrenching, the guilt overwhelming. But then, he felt someone lift him effortlessly by his armpits - Volg shook his head, begging Rorik to regain his composure. Guntz... wanted this. He had a point to prove, didn't he? That he could measure up to that monster... and by Arceus, he did. He injured that Glalie so bad, it went into a rage. It's thanks to Guntz that they realize we're an actual threat... Guntz may well have changed the tide of this battle. And he did so willingly. I... I can't let his sacrifice be in vain! The cavalry had arrived, too. After Guntz's Bloom Doom, a number of other Trainers had shifted their attention to the main threat; and now that his main soldier had fallen, Rorik knew it was time to change his approach once more. Pulling out Guntz's Luxury Ball, the Professor took aim and recalled his partner, whispering a heartfelt "thank you" as he did. No more distractions; Athena has the small fry occupied. It's now or never, but I lack the raw power to keep fighting - it's time to back up those who can make a difference now. Keith Masters was sending out his Meowth for a Z-Move of his own, and Rorik suspected others might want to use their big guns on the foe as well. But it had multiplied into countless illusions, and missing a power move at this point could be catastrophic. There was only one way to ensure everyone made it out relatively unscathed and their offense didn't go to waste - Rorik would have to prepare the groundwork for everyone else. "Stahl, your turn once again," he called out to the Shiny Starmie with a determination he never knew he possessed. "We need to create an opening for everyone else... Raise a Light Screen to keep everyone safe and draw Glalie's undivided attention with your Spotlight! That should allow the others to strike without interruptions... Keep Glalie's eyes on you and Recover if you're feeling weak!" He'd briefly considered a Swift shower to dispel the Double Team clones, but once he heard Keith call for an Acid Downpour, he reasoned it should be widespread enough to deal with any false images. And as such, he had more time to provide back up and allow the true heroes to do their job...

That didn't deter the brave little Caterpie however. He had secret techniques, powerful ones too, and he had both his species' natural traction for tree-climbing and a bunny hood to enable him to make gravity-defying leaps. He lunged forth, aided by his mystical rabbit ears, landing on the Beartic, before unleashing a Flamethrower straight across the beast's body. As the Caterpie scuttled around the colossal Ice type's body, he unleashed another Flamethrower, this time aiming for a leg, before firing off a String Shot in the hopes of binding the creature's legs together. He may not best this monstrosity, but he could damn well do it some devilry, and if he could drag it to hell with him, then the more the merrier in the pits of damnation.

For some reason, it seemed as if the world skipped forward when the quake hit. Suddenly, the vulpix army had grown sparse sparse, the battle had moved on, a new threat had apparently emerged and been swiftly taken care of, while another was still making a crash course toward Disasterville. Odd as it was, Chroma hardly thought anything of it- clearly, this was some sort of portent for her to capture one of the remaining vulpix. Was it a universal call, or perhaps one of acceptance from an unseen elder ninetales? It was impossible to tell, but the meaning came through loud and clear. Well, maybe not loud, but certainly as clear as a crystalline icicle. There certainly enough of those hanging around to see how clear they were... Unfortunately, it didn't seem as if any particular Fox Pokemon was an ordained individual. Was it a pick an choose situation? "Or are they telling me to leave it up to destiny?" She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, before focusing her attention on an individual. "Alright, guess you're gonna do. Mia/Plad, let's try to wear'em down without being too rough with a Psywave and a couple Water Guns!" She quickly sifted through her bag to find an unused pokeball as the staryu went to work, already glowing excitedly at the prospect of having a new team member, and kept her eyes out for a good opportunity. Hopefully these vulpix had the same penchant for loyalty their fiery cousins did... |

With one problem solved, the next was to deal with the rampaging Beartic rushing for town, something that greatly concerned Alex. With other trainers also focusing on it, the strength of the ursine was evident, striking down someone's Sneasel with a brutal attack, then rushing through a Litwick like nothing, to his concern. Attila was having none of this, eliciting a battle cry that was more a screech than bellowing roar, grabbing the Beartic's attention and forcing it to hold his head. The opportunity presented, her and the others laid into it with their best shot, an iron tail and close combat assault combined with her iron head smashing the Beartic hard. However the blue glow around it was far from good news. "Attila, brace!" A mighty avalanche of snow and ice cascaded over the group, leaving the Larvitar on her knees gasping, while the other three were either injured or incapacitated. Alex grit his teeth, it was a gutsy effort but the Beartic had the advantage in strength, and if it could withstand those assaults, then bringing it down before it reached town was imperative. However, in her current state Attila wouldn't be capable of another good hit, let alone with the hail dinging down... "Hail? Oh damn, not good..." he gulped. As though empowered by the icy weather, the Beartic seemed to rush through the slush and snow, magnifying the threat it posed. The setting sun didn't help either, and he knew that it had to be stopped, now. "Attila, fall back and recuperate in safety...wait, where'd Isaac end up?" --- Within town, the Alolan Marowak had stayed behind to keep Primrose safe, but took the opportunity to take a nap as they neared town. The sounds of commotion and the loud echo woke him up though, and as he found himself in the middle of town, he gave a nod as Smoochum were chased out and the young heiress got to more secure safety, yet inside the ghost type the unnerving feeling of impending danger loomed. Turning to the town entrance, he squinted. At the sight of the Beartic approaching, and Alex running behind trying to get ahead of it in relative vain, he furrowed brow. If it was still going, it would need some serious firepower to deal with it. Without a word, the Marowak stepped forward, waving his fiery bone. "Oh thank Arceus! We need to hit this thing as hard as we can!" Alex called, but the Bone Keeper was well prepared, psyching himself up. As he focused his energy, he was ready to maximise his power with a belly drum, with his lack of injury thus far still leaving him healthy enough. However, that wasn't the only thing as his eyes locked on to Alex's. The human faltered, gauntlet open slightly, before realisation came to mind. To hit this threat full force, one must unleash one's potential... He reached into a pocket, pulling out a shiny brown crystal. Whether the gods knew this day would come, or whether it was coincidence, as he slotted the Rockium Z onto the back of the gauntlet, in the groove built for it, he felt almost compelled to act. Bringing arms before him, he raised them up and stomped once, as though hefting a boulder over head, then whirled round and stomped again, as if throwing the boulder, and he felt the energy flow from the Z crystal towards Isaac, whose rock slide would become empowered. Ready to unleash his full-force Z-move, with enough power to crush continents... Alex just hoped that this would be enough to put the bear down once and for all as Isaac prepared himself to put everything into one decisive strike... |

Bill continued to cheer for Megas as he kept going up to random strangers to wake them up, but someone playing a flute nearby seemed to have some effect on the townsfolk. Feeling some relief, it was broken when he had heard that the Beartic was closing on the city. Thankfully, the now waking townsfolk were taking care of the remaining Smoochum. Bill was nearish the area that the Beartic was likely going to attack as well, meaning he had better get a move-on. "Golett!" Megas yelled out. It seemed like that the Beartic was getting attacked by a large group of people, and Megas did not want to be left out. "No, Megas, not yet," Bill tells his Pokemon. The Golett turned its head down in disappointment. Bill gives a reassuring smile, "Don't worry, we still have our secret weapon, but right now, we need you to stay alive for it to work, okay?" Megas looks up at its trainer before accepting his words and returning to its pokeball willingly. "Okay, for now, we'll need to make sure that we keep a good distance." Bill goes to the edge of the town, on the pathway. He pulls out the Cherish Ball, he keeps on his belt before calling out his Finneon. "Swift, let's do this!" The Finneon appeared above the snow before plopping down. He glares at Bill. "Sorry, but this is the best we can do right now. Trono's not ready for battles, Megas is weak to ice types, and Silver's fainted. You're the last one I can count on." Anger subsided, instead the fish Pokemon was filled with determination. Bill pulled out his Pokedex. "Dex, scan for gender" "Okay, we've had enough of this. This Beartic wants to fight...let's fight. Start things off with a Water Gun on it, followed by another Water Gun...and should this Beartic be female, use Attract on it. Try to slow it down as much as you can." Finneon was ready to fight, after all, its heavy body might not do much, but it might at least attract some attention. Last edited by CyberBlastoise; 12-24-2017 at 12:24 AM. |

Athena felt a rush of excitement as she watched Palmier rush in to battle. Though he failed to Astonish such a large opponent, he was able to create enough of a fire to hinder Beartic. The Ice-type seemed to have taken note of the Litwick's weakness, and hit him again with an Aqua Jet. Palmier let out a squeak as he was knocked out. "You did a really good job..." Athena said quietly as she brought out Palmier's Pokeball and called him back. She held the ball to her chest. "I'm really proud of you!" Athena had to duck and run a few feet to get out of the path of the Beartic. It was getting dangerously close to the town, and it looked like Pokemon owned by the townspeople had joined in the battle. She retrieved another Pokeball from her bag and tossed it out on the snow. Eclair jumped out looking rather excited. "Sorry to keep you waiting," She knelt down to Eclair's level. The Mawile pointed to the rampaging Beartic and Athena nodded. Eclair started to run out onto the battlefield but Athena pulled her back. "Wait wait! Please be careful... It's definitely weakened but don't underestimate it." Eclair rolled her eyes and tapped her foot impatiently. "Alright, sorry, I know you'll be fine! Let's show them what we can do." Athena let out a stressed sigh and tried to calm her mind once more. Eclair let out a mischeveous giggle, giving Athena an idea for what they could do. "Try to get in there and Tickle the Beartic. Then use Play Rough. If you get hit, retaliate with Metal Burst, okay?" Eclair gave her trainer a thumbs up, then sprinted off toward the Beartic, ready to lower its defenses and the power of its attacks. (Forgot to do it earlier oopsie) Claiming my Vulpix and putting her in a Pokeball. Leaving her unnamed for now but declaring her ability as Snow Warning. The sun slowly began to set over the horizon of Mount Zephyria, casting a giant shadow over the frozen waterfall. To make matters worse, as the battle raged on the two ice Pokemon in charge of this invasion continued to increase their evasion with bothersome Double Teams. As he listened to a few other trainers call out their strategies for a last ditch effort to take the Glalie and Froslass down, Gary knew exactly what he needed Raphael to do. “Don’t sweat it, Raph. We’ve got this right where we want to be!” Gary called out to his Blastoise, who remained on his shell. “First things first, get back to your feet by using a Rapid Spin and knock away any pests in the process if they try getting cute. Once you’re steady, let’s keep our aim on that Glalie and try to take it down for good! Let’s give it everything you’ve got and blast it with a pair of two more Aura Spheres!” As he lay on his back and listened to his trainer’s strategy, Raphael slowly nodded and answered with a simple “Blassst.”

The real threat, however, took everything against him in stride, mainly because there wasn't much being thrown at him. That all changed, however, as the Snorlax belonging to...wait, he still hadn't said who he was? Well, that's unfortunate. Anyway, the Snorlax had a pretty large trick to accompany his large body, and as his trainer finished a dance that Hyrem had never seen before the large bear used an attack that looked just like Solar Beam but was much more devastating as it exploded upon the Mega Glalie upon impact, filling everything with gloom and Doom...except replace gloom with Bloom, and that's what it seemed like it was. Even looking at it was difficult because it was like looking at the sun. Suddenly, everyone realized the explosion was consuming the ground as well because at that moment Hyrem, Silas, Kenna, and Happy were all caught up in the snow being blown, and Hyrem had to shield his face with his arms, being exposed to so much cold when all of a sudden that...stopped. He dared to lift his head up and see a familiar gray chin right in front of him, shielding the group from the outer effects of the blast, even though they were not caught in the blast. "...Kilogram! Man, you really know when we're all in danger, don't you?" The Steelix didn't answer but kept his face in front of everyone as he set his body down around them until the blast subsided, at which point he lifted his face to reveal a giant crater where everything used to be, and at the very bottom of it floated the Mega Glalie, who started to realize just how powerful of a foe he and the Ice-type army were up against. His next roar soon escalated the power of the storm as well as the severity of it, and then, just to top it all off, shot a powerful Ice Beam at the Snorlax who had just unleashed his Z-Move and knocked him unconscious despite any natural resistances he had from his ability. As Gary's Blastoise and Melissa's Aron made themselves the next Pokemon to engage the leader, Hyrem finally found Silas, who had thankfully broken out of his cage with Rock Smash but instead of an Alolan Sandslash was now facing a Sealeo, his body starting to feel all the effects of the raging snowstorm. There wasn't much else Silas could target in the vicinity, so, taking a short moment to remember this wasn't Brittany he was battling, he spat out a glob of pure, burgundy sugar, similar to the Gummis Hyrem would feed his Pokemon from time to time, and just like a sticky Bomb it adhered to the Sealeo before exploding in a burst of Fighting energy, dealing a bunch of damage to it and making it mad enough to spit out a Water Gun at him, causing the Houndoom to yelp from the cold water that impacted against his chest. Knowing he might not last long if he was hit with another Water attack, he had to act fast, so he barked the order, "Team Flash Fire, time to attack together, and you as well, Emma! Now!!" Tsurara decided to pretend her teammate didn't just order her so curtly in addition to using her real name in public, and she fell in behind the Fire Pokemon, waiting for them to charge in and ram the Sealeo one by one before descending upon her victim and...passing right through it? Well, whatever she did certainly worked as the Sealeo fainted then and there, Tsurara seeming quite satisfied as she licked her lips. "Mmmm, Sealeo blubber...it has been quite some time since I had something like that, it really takes me back to the exploits I had in my past life." "You've eaten Sealeo meat before?" Hyrem asked, suddenly feeling disturbed and concerned for the safety of his own sea lion. "Oh, darling, need I remind you of my privileged upbringing? You'll find I'm no stranger to...exotic cuisine, some of which I have been kind enough not to reveal to certain allies of mine." "Well, I'd appreciate it if you kept it that way." "As always, no promises~" Hyrem took that as a "yes" and looked around for how the rest of the battle was going, which was becoming more and more difficult to do as he felt like he was freezing to death. They just barely took out the Sealeo, but what about the Alolan Sandslash? That question was answered as the Earth rumbled and Quaked nearby, and at the epicenter of it was the Swinub owned by the woman from earlier, who had used it to completely overwhelm the Alolan Sandslash but had also caused Gary's Blastoise and the Aron to suffer from it as well. As the sun was starting to set, he knew things were getting dire: they would have no chance of surviving if they were still battling in this storm when it got dark, they had to neutralize it now. And Mega Glalie and the Froslass accompanying him seemed to realize this fact, they wanted to prey on the human trainers' fragility and stall things out until it got dark, so they both made good use of their Double Team spells to create fake images of themselves until the entire group of trainers and Pokemon were surrounded by these illusions. Fortunately, there were still some things going for them: first, Athena and her Mawile had been able to keep the smaller Pokemon busy so they wouldn't distract the trainers from focusing on the stronger Ice Pokemon, and second, Keith was ready to have Meowth use his own Z-Move, one that Hyrem had seen work wonders against a certain Shadow Pokemon they had fought prior to this assault. Between that, and everyone else focusing their attacks on Mega Glalie, they had a chance of bringing it down, and in that moment, whether the cold was getting to him or some other unknown factor, Hyrem dared to risk deviating from that focus, even for one moment. "Kilogram," he called upon his Steelix while trying his best to keep himself warm. "I need you for this last part...use Curse to power yourself up...then look for a Bergmite and use Heavy Slam on it--just trust me on that--then join the others in attacking the Mega Glalie with your Gyro Ball. I'm really counting on you for this!" The Iron Snake simply gave a nod before reciting an incantation as part of his Curse attack, invoking the power of Zygarde, the Avatar of Balance, for aid in smiting down those who would seek to completely upset the ecosystem here. As for Hyrem, he was struggling to stay standing, so he knelt down in the snow for a moment and tried rubbing his hands together to create some semblance of warmth for them before searching through his bag to uncover a Christmas Pokeball, one that he would be ready to toss at whatever Bergmite that Kilogram would find and attack, hoping the stat boosted Steel-type attack, combined with a potential level difference, would be enough to weaken it so it could be captured. As he stood back up, he blew on the hand holding the special Pokeball to, again, keep it from going numb, which would render it useless in throwing the capsule at the critical moment. That was when Kenna, Silas, and Happy all gathered around him, huddling up close to him to lend their internal flames to their trainer, with Kenna once again grabbing his spare hand and keeping it nice and warm inside her mouth. Meanwhile, Tsurara looked on, realizing she could possibly benefit no matter what happened. If the Ice Pokemon won, and the humans all froze to death along with their Pokemon, she could simply join up with them and thrive among them, perhaps even becoming the one pulling the strings behind them all. And of course, if Hyrem and company won, she would have a potential smorgasbord of fallen Ice Pokemon to feed on and, judging from the way her trainer was holding a Pokeball, possibly something to...sample from over and over again. It was all about looking at things practically for the spirit who used to be known as Emma Rimeson, and she was most likely the only one able to do that and discover a win-win scenario out of this large scale battle. She wasn't about to divulge these thoughts to anyone, of course, but they were certainly at the forefront of her mind as she watched what may be the climax of the battle and witness if Hyrem's rare moment of greed would cost him everything. Quite exciting, now that I think about it...ooo, and I simply cannot wait to watch him in action either...

With the Froslass weakened, Jayson set his sights on it. If he could take it down, the rest of the trainers could focus their energy on taking down the Glalie. "I'll finish the Froslass!" Jayson shouted, hoping at least some of the other trainers would hear him. "Odysseus we've dealt with Double Teams before, first use your Magnet Bomb to determine the real Froslass, then hit it twice more with Magnet Bomb!" The Magneton buzzed as he moved into attack position, determined to carry out his orders and bring the Froslass down. Jayson looked around to the other trainers, it seemed the battle for the Waterfall was nearing its end, he just hoped that the end meant their victory, not their defeat.... Jayson caught a Cryogonal! While Lucas was overthinking his position in the battle, the Glalie and Froslass were in a deep battle with the rest of his allies, a troupe of Cryoginal having been dispatched as well by the comrades. Finally, Lucas decided to give up on his Elektross for now and called back his confused Pokémon. Off to the side, their leader Athena was sngle-handedly taking on all of the smaller Pokémon by distracting them away from the others. Lucas called out through the roaring snowstorm, hopefully not in vain. “SNOWBALL!” His Mamoswine had been standing to the side of the battle, out of the way. He hadn’t retreated her to the safety of her Pokéball when he disembarked and he hoped she was still alright despite it. His focus was on helping the Mawile before she was getting overwhelmed. It was going to be a bit selfish what he was going to do next but he hoped the attacks wouldn’t cause too much trouble for the other trainers and their Pokémon. A low moan emanated from beyond the pelting hail. Snowball was still here. Lucas ran over as best he could while calling out to her. She too, ploughed through the snow towards him as he did. Lucas grabbed her by the tusks to steady himself in the winds. “I need you, you’re up next.” The Mamoswine roared readily. “Go help the Mawile, get in there and Earthqu-,” Lucas stopped. He couldn’t do that to everyone. “Thrash through the group and knock out as many as you can, keep doing that until they’re unconscious or fleeing. After that (if she still has moves left),” he looked towards the Glalie and Froslass who were double-teaming. “Odor Sleuth the Froslass and then the Glalie. Lastly, he called out to Athena and Mawile as loud as he could, “Watch out! Retreat!” wanting them to avoid Snow’s thrashing.

Damnit I just finished Makoto's arc why you gotta do this to me
Quote:
When Poppy arose, he appeared confused but quickly remembered his charge, calling over a local doctor to examine her. While her condition was critical, it wasn't too late to save the lass's life, so the concerned residents helped hurry her over to the clinic. With the young lady now in more capable hands, Jess breathed another exhale, smiling at Mélina and patting Link on the head in thanks for their assistance. While things were a bit more peaceful now, Jess knew there was still another threat encroaching in the form of an eight-foot tall bear and its cohorts. However, there was another thought nagging at the back of her brain, which the music had reminded her of: the Flabébé family and Comfey she had befriended before. She hadn't seen them back at the Rose Garden, and had become too preoccupied with Primrose's safety at the time to search for them. She bit her lip, wondering if it would be too selfish of her to abandon her current post to check on them, weighing options. It seemed there was plenty of firepower to protect the town though, as its inhabitants prepared to defend their home with everything they had, sending out their own Machop and Growlithe to stand ground along with the other volunteers' Pokémon. With their power combined, Jess reasoned they stood a fair chance of taking down the beast. Besides, Sheik was already facing off against the creature, and something told her she didn't need to worry about the Houndour's abilities when it came to combat. Thus, she made her decision and summoned Epona once again, hastily hopping on her back along with Link. "Can you take us back to the Rose Garden? I want to make sure my friends there are okay. Please hurry." Upon returning to the entrance gate, Jess relaxed a bit to see the situation seemed much more calm now compared to before, with nary a pig nor pup in sight, leaving only trampled trails of pawprints as they likely fled from the strength of the four flower queens. ...However, her attention was arrested by a quiet cry coming from a snowbank. "Auu~" Tiptoeing closer to investigate further, the group discovered a small straggler seemingly left behind by its pack. From its dazed expression and the way it dizzily stumbled around, Jess recognized it as the one Epona had knocked out earlier with her weight. Her heart swelled with sudden sympathy for the frail fox as she dismounted along with Link, although as she attempted to approach the target bared its fangs and growled, clearly not trusting Jess or the equine behind her, who snorted and pawed the earth in response. As Link endeavored to compose his comrade, Jess kept her distance but pulled out her Pokédex to scan the stray's stats, confirming its health was quite low (and in the process learning "it" was a "she"). Troubled that if she couldn't keep up with her brother and sisters, the little one might not receive proper care for her wounds. Feeling guilty and somewhat responsible, Jess determined to try and take it back to a Pokémon Center, but the Vulpix snapped again as she drew near, refusing to have anything to do with the human. Jess was at a loss as to what to do, as she didn't really wish to fight the poor thing anymore in this state. Link, on the other hand, tugged at his trainer's pants leg and pointed with his tail towards her pack. Recalling the last time she had difficulty coaxing an icy critter to come to her, Jess approved of the idea and fished inside her bag for 1x Casteliacone, offering it out to the Vulpix. While her snout quivered upon sniffing the delicious treat, she still maintained a wary width between them. Thus Jess placed the snack on the snow, hoping it would convince her they meant no harm. She only snarled and started to charge at them though... Except as soon as she took one step she tripped over her feet and faceplanted nose-first into the frost, whining weakly as her stomach gave a loud rumble. "See? You are hungry." Jess couldn't help but chuckle as the fallen fox raised her head and glared. Link gently nudged the confection closer, and, seeming slightly less skeptical of the stranger at least, the canine consented to finally accept food from one of a similar species, eagerly devouring the dessert with gusto. As she ate, Jess surreptitiously retrieved a Snow Ball, causing the kit's ears to prick as her sharp senses immediately detected the girl's intent. Jess coolly held out the white crystalline orb, speaking frankly so as not to startle any further. "Listen, I'm not going to make you do anything you don't want to do. But why don't you just come with us for now, and we can get you some medical treatment? I'm sorry we were rough with you earlier, but we needed to get another little girl to a doctor. I'm not sure what it is you guys are after, but I think it'd be better if we try to understand each other so no one else gets hurt. What do you say?" OoC - Sorry if this falls into the category of self-Updating. Wasn't sure how far I could take the story on my own without requiring too many Updates.

When things settled enough for her to peek back up at the situation, the Glalie roared again and made the blizzard even worse. Looks like whatever that move was wasn't strong enough to do more than piss off the Pokémon. Which was a shame, since it decided to knock the Snorlax out with one frickin' powerful Ice Beam! A Blastoise went after it next, but didn't exactly come off the better once it used Double Team and then Mar hit it with Ancient Power, only to get blindsided by a Confuse Ray by the Froslass that...no one had apparently spotted. Dammit. Mar ended up burying himself in his own Rock Slide instead of the two Ice-types. Abruptly, the ground started shaking again and Melissa glanced wildly around for the source as Mar cried out. It...looked like a Swinub was the culprit, but was that one wild? No, she spotted Alice just a bit away, but, damn, they had to worry about friendly fire also? Melissa decided to pull Mar from the front lines, at least, until the confusion wore off. "Mar, get back here and use Magnet Rise, so you won't get hit by another Ground attack. Then, Iron Defense again and Spite the Glalie." Mar wobbled and blinked, protesting that he could handle the fight. "No," Melissa said sharply. "You just got hit with confusion and an Earthquake; I'm pulling you back until you won't accidentally hit yourself with your own attacks." Grumbling, he turned and did his best to make his way over to her.

At some point, as the villagers went back to their senses, they immediately went out for revenge on the baby delinquents, shooing them out with Pokémon or brooms. As for the girl and man, they immediately ran to the nearest doctor, to everyone's relief. Estimating that they can take care of themselves from that point on, Mélina stopped playing her instrument, shared a smile with Jessica, then addressed to Lune, who was pulling a raspberry at the Smoochum running away. “Wooo, awesome job my girl!” She walked up to her gave her a good scratch on her cheek. “You sure got a bite out of crime there! You deserve some rest now.” After calling Lune back to her Pokéball, the trainer made a run (well, more of a fast walk) to the new top priority: The Beartic and Cubchoo. What she didn't know though is although the Cubchoo seemed to be handled and gone, the Beartic has gone berserk and getting dangerously close to the town! Biting her lip, worried about what destruction the arctic bear could do and wondering what she would do, she decided of throwing Soleil into the fray again. “Soleil, I need your rays of help again!” She pleaded. “Before you do anything though… I think you better have a snack. You’re still tired from that fight against Vulpix… aren’t you?” “Vee...” the furball sighed while slowly nodding. “Then here, have one of these. That should be a good pick-me-up,” the trainer gave Soleil a Sweet Heart, which the Eevee chomped on carefully but hastily. After she finished eating, Mélina continued. “Seems like we need to take down that Beartic, and fast! Everyone’s after it already, but we still got to do our part!” “Eevee!” Soleil nodded again, this time resolute. “...Unfortunately we’re a bit of a size disadvantage, so I think we’re better play it safe by attacking mostly from afar. First, give it a Tail Whip, then hit it with a couple of Swift attacks!” Last edited by OkikuMew; 12-22-2017 at 11:05 PM. |

"Oh-- oh shit, Maasa, get it!" Alice cried, looking over at the advancing Sandslash. Her starter wasted no time in dealing with it, albeit at the expense of two others. Oops. "Sorry! Our bad, we panicked!" The trainer called awkwardly, still attempting to get up. Said attempt was made a lot faster when whatever was underneath began speaking, Alice freaking out more. It was a Snorunt, and a male, too. Bad timing, though. "... We're actually gonna die up here, I swear." Alice acknowledged miserably, heart lurching as countless copies of Glalie and Frosslass surrounded them. They could hardly leave the Snorunt be, though, for their own convenience nor for the potential damage it could cause. "Okay, boy, let's make this quick! Use your mud bomb, mud shot and bite on this Snorunt! Weaken him fast!" She commanded, her Swinub going straight for the opponent as ordered. Alice took out a Poke Ball, ready to throw it the moment that there was an opening and the enemy was weak enough to do so (string of attacks completed or not).
