Ledyba continued to provide a buffer between Tyrunt and the two boys. The Five-Star Pokémon fired off some strong winds at Tyrunt. Its paralysis kicked in luckily, and the ancient Pokémon stayed in place. Wyatt continued their theory about the holes, "Yeah, it's possible. I mean when you think about it, maybe the Bunnelby was trying to protect itself by creating some kind of defense against this thing.” Ledyba, meanwhile, blew forth some purplish wind of Ghost energy at the Royal Heir Pokémon. “The only problem was that other Pokémon and well... me fell into the traps too. That makes sense." Wyatt’s admission of his trip seemed to snap Chad out of his concentration. “You fell in a hole too? I’m sorry dude. Everything is all right I’m assuming?” At this time, Ledyba and Tyrunt were lunging at each other, Ledyba with glowing fists of Mach Punch, and Tyrunt, a Tackle. The attack from Tyrunt caused Ledyba to fall to the ground. “You ok bud?” Chad called out to Ledyba, who nodded. The Tyrunt was not looking too great, but it still managed to get to its feet again. Its eyes were fixed, once again, on the sling. "It doesn't stop does it?" Wyatt remarked. "If you are going to get that Clauncher to water, you might want to do it soon. It isn't looking very good." “You’re right. I almost forgot,” Chad answered realizing suddenly Clauncher was still in the sling. It really was not looking very good. “Ledyba, run interference. Stay between Tyrunt and us using Mach Punch whenever it tries to approach us. If it ever passes you, wrap it up tight with String Shot.” Ledyba agreed and hopped over in between Tyrunt and Chad, Wyatt, and Clauncher. Chad began to slowly make his way to the water’s edge with Clauncher. Only when Chad felt Tyrunt was properly distracted, he knelt down to lower Clauncher to the pond. “It’s going to need a lot of time in the water to recover,” Chad commented looking at Wyatt. “I still have the Safari Ball you gave me earlier. Once Clauncher is in the pond, I’ll catch Tyrunt.” Stats |

At first the lass trainer enjoyed the dino's antics but bit by bit she had finally reached her breaking point by how the ice type had been acting like a little brat. “I’m sorry, but you can’t always be the center of attention, it just doesn't work that way.” She said as she began to realize just how much of a mother she was beginning to sound, like a parent scorning their child. “Performing in contests…you aren't the only one on the stage, I wasn't lying to you when I said you had talent and the appeal you made just a few seconds ago was spectacular. Especially for someone so young, but there will be times where you’re going to have to work with me or work with another Pokémon to create something even more beautiful than you could ever do alone…You think that my Pokémon got well trained on their own? No. They work with me to be the best that they can be. And I’d like to work with you too, but if that’s the way you’re going to act, like a little ice princess, then let me tell you, if you continue on this road all you’ll find is loneliness…and that’s an awful thing to have.” Liza sighed, before turning around to face her Pokémon, who were a little shocked by their trainers sudden change in personality, “I don’t want to go look for another Pokémon to join me on my quest but if I have to…” Liza said turning to face Chantelle as if looking for an answer, “If I even have enough time, then I will.” She said before walking toward her Pokémon, “Let me show you what I meant earlier, about working together. Apy, Sam up and center!” she commanded, hoping a double appeal would prove her point to the stubborn Fossil Pokémon. “Let’s make this a real starry night! Apy, use Swift and aim at the sky making it look like comets are shooting down from the heavens! Sam use Dragon Pulse alongside the star shapes to make them glow in a multitude of colors before you and Mareep, use Metal Claw and Iron Tail respectfully to shatter the stars into a thousand pieces, having them sparkle and shine as they fall like confetti to the ground...” Last edited by sweetbbydoll; 01-02-2015 at 05:59 AM. |

The Charmander was looking more annoyed then anything else at the moment, the paralysis from the Thunder Wave she had taken earlier making her movements slower then she would've liked. She punched at the air a few times in the Amaura's direction, seemingly as a warning to it that her last attack was just a warm-up. "I suppose we should press our advantage for now.", Katsura stated, agreeing with Flandre's desire to continue mounting an offense. "Show it your Dragon Rage, then unleash Ancient Power before moving in with Brick Break". |

"I hope you find a Totodile in Johto too." She said, after he expressed his wish. Wyatt's question was something she hadn't really given consideration to before, so she had to think about it for a moment. "Well," she began hesitantly, "I've always been interested in learning about new things. Knowledge for knowledge's sake, you know? Before I set out, I gathered that knowledge by reading a lot of books about many different subjects." She laughed. "I was a bit of a shut in, really. And then my parents, well, convinced me to try being a trainer. I mostly thought it would be a nuisance, and just cut into my reading time. But I wasn't expecting meeting Pokemon like Airmid, and I'm beginning to see that books don't do a lot of things justice." It certainly was very different to actually meet a Ghost-type, compared to simply reading about them. "So I guess my goals and dreams aren't really concrete, when it comes down to it. I'm still focused on knowledge--just knowledge obtained first hand. And I'm not searching for it alone. Long term, I guess you could say my goal is to travel. To see and experience new things. To meet new people and Pokemon." She smiled fondly at the pumpkin sleeping by her side. "And maybe, if I'm the first to discover something new, or something in particular really catches my attention, I'll write a book about it or something. Other than that? I'm just going where I haven't been before." She shrugged, and fell silent. That answer had been a bit longer than she had expected it to be, but she had never really put her feelings as a trainer into words. At the end of her meandering answer, she thought she heard grass rustling nearby. It might have been the wind or her imagination, but Schala glanced around hopefully. With luck, it was Airmid returning safely. ----------- Mindful of her observer, Airmid quickly collected what she needed, both for the others waiting for her, and for said observer. This one was being very quiet, and polite! The Pokemon was definitely getting a present for being so patient. She crafted the flower crown swiftly, and managed to place it on her new friend's head after a few moments of gesturing to get her point across. The dinosaur tilted its head back and forth to check that it was in place, and then looked at the Shroomish happily. She returned the smile. It was always nice when her gifts were appreciated! But she didn't have time to linger. She had to get back, now that she had finally gathered the necessary supplies. Airmid didn't mind when the other Pokemon followed her back. This way, she could introduce her new friend to her trainer and her other new friends. So many new friends today! It was wonderful. Even getting sidetracked by the rude Water-type earlier couldn't change her good mood. (Profile) |

The low whistle of the Kalosian trainer to her side brought Celes's attention back to Jean. She thought he went too far in what he had to say to Cyrus. He didn't know Cyrus as Celes did, hadn't been through all that they had been through together. It was nice to be concerned and offer well-meant advice, but it was another thing to take it too far and lecture without all of the facts. She didn't want to admit that much of what Jean had to say was true. The way he shook his head like that ...! Celes bristled. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Cyrus held his breath as Mankey prodded Carbink a second time. He was already doubting whether he had indeed made the right choice. The tension was not abated but was at least kept from escalating further when Carbink returned Mankey's poke with a giggle. "At least Carbink doesn't seem to mind too much," he thought to himself. While Cyrus's focus was squarely on Mankey, and his eyes did indeed register the primate's glances towards first Cyrus and then Jean and Celes, his brain didn't really internalize it the way that Jean's did. To Cyrus, Mankey seemed like a caged animal on edge. He wasn't sure exactly what was running through Mankey's mind. And that was a problem. So it came as a huge surprise to Cyrus when Mankey walked over to a tree and sat down underneath it, motionless and ... sad-looking? Yes, Mankey did appear to be quite glum. Cyrus didn't have long to process the scene before Jean's whistle pierced the silence. "Wow," Jean stated quietly, his eyes glued to Mankey. "I don't know about you, Cyrus, but I just got some powerful vibes off of your Mankey and if I'm not mistaken there's some jealousy and resentment going on." Jealousy? Resentment? "When you put his Pokéball away you scored a point, but whenever he looks at Celes he shoots her daggers." Cyrus turned to look at Celes. She was looking up at Jean, but at the mention of her name in address to Cyrus she soon swiveled her head around to look at her trainer, her expression anxiously shouting "I didn't do it!" in mild terror. "Tell me, Cyrus," Jean continued, "does Mankey ever spend time with your other Pokémon without her present?" Well, not really, Cyrus thought to himself. But it wasn't just a matter of Celes's presence or absence -- Cyrus hadn't let Mankey be around the others much period. The few times he had tried it, things had gotten out of hand very fast. He had found that it was simply easier to summon the entire gang without Mankey and to then summon Mankey at a later time. "Does he spend much time with you alone?" Jean continued. "And if yes, are you always holding his Pokéball ready to return him should he misbehave?" Cyrus thought about it for a second. He had felt that the answer would surely be "Yes" to the first question, but when confronted with the question right now, he couldn't help but to recognize that he hadn't really been spending as much time with Mankey as he could have. "But I think the most important question of all here is," Jean reached the climax of his assessment, "'Was Celes at all involved with Mankey's initial capture?'." Cyrus wondered where Jean was going with this line of reasoning. Why did he seem to keep focusing on Celes? "I suspect there may be more at play here than a powerful Pokémon - a potentially dangerous Pokémon - simply misbehaving because it resents having been captured." Cyrus spared a flitting glance at Mankey before returning his focus to Jean, who continued. "One thing about fighters is that they are a proud bunch. Very proud. Mankey is a powerful and proud Pokémon who is mistrusted not only by yourself, but by the most respected member of your entire team." Cyrus returned his focus to Mankey, this time keeping it there. He observed the monkey sitting in the shade of the tree. This was supposed to have been a fun time for all of them. Instead, things had gotten very somber very fast. The Carbink seemed to be keeping Mankey company, but Cyrus didn't feel right leaving Mankey all alone like this. "I may be quite off track here," Jean said, "and if you think I am then I apologise and ask for your forgiveness, but I think the key to building a healthy relationship with Mankey is to work on his relationship with both you and Celes separately at first, then together. He needs to know he does not play second fiddle to her and that he is as important to you as all of your other Pokémon. "It will be a long and often trying road, but there is always a starting point. Why not let that starting point be here and now?" the Kalosian encouraged. "Perhaps we can test this theory by letting Mankey try to befriend Carbink alone, and then take it from there?" ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Who did this Jean guy think he was!? That was what Celes demanded to know. It was one thing for him to provide a tour of the best Kalos has to offer. It was another thing entirely for him to give Cyrus critical advice on how best to handle that untamed beast! Celes recalled past displays of Mankey's viciousness. She shuddered at the thought of leaving the littlest ones around him unsupervised. There was no telling what that brute might do when they -- Celes, Cyrus, all the older members of the team -- had their backs turned to him. Besides, Celes thought, it wasn't her fault if Mankey bore some sort of a grudge against her. He was the one who had been attacking a helpless Oddish in the forest. She was the one who had resorted to physical violence to stop him only after other means had failed. Celes looked up at Cyrus. He wasn't looking at her right this minute. His attention was divided between Mankey, sitting under the tree with Carbink, and Jean, giving a whole lot of possibly-dangerous advice. Finally, Cyrus did turn to look at Celes. She looked straight into his eyes. She communicated to him, in unspoken language, that she had her reservations about Jean's advice, that she didn't think it would be a good idea to leave Mankey unsupervised-- "Celes ... maybe Jean is right." ... "... Let's give it a try." ... No ... Cyrus couldn't be serious ... could he? Her trainer fumbled around on his belt for a ball. Adrenaline raced through her veins like liquid ice as she hoped, prayed, he was looking for Mankey's ball ... or maybe getting ready to summon the entire gang, yeah! ... "C'mon, girl," he gestured, sitting on his haunches and getting to as near of eye level with her as possible. "Just for a little bit. Let's show Mankey that we can trust him to be out with other Pokémon." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "Celes ... maybe Jean is right." Cyrus looked to his trusted partner, his dearest friend, seeking some sort of confirmation. In her face he saw none, but instead a mix of shock, defiance, and ... "Let's give it a try," he encouraged. Cyrus considered the possibility of walking off some distance with Celes -- it's what he would normally do -- but he considered that, if Jean's hunch about Mankey was correct, that this might not be as powerful a move to make as recalling Celes to her PokéBall in plain sight. He didn't want to call her back like this -- he certainly hadn't envisioned their romp in the Friend Safari having gone like this -- but Cyrus felt that giving Mankey alone time with Carbink, while perhaps a good first step, would not be adequate if he wanted to convey to Mankey that Mankey could afford to relax around Cyrus and the others, that he didn't have to feel like a prisoner constantly being monitored by guards. Walking over yonder hill with Celes and out of sight wouldn't give Mankey the subconscious conviction that she had been returned to her PokéBall. Seeing it in plain sight would. Cyrus didn't like the situation though. He wasn't perfect. He made mistakes. He couldn't help but feel that this was one of them, a big clumsy mistake in the making. But it was the best he could think of on such short notice. "Celes ..." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "... return." Cyrus held the PokéBall out at arm's length, pointing it right at her. Celes glumly returned to her PokéBall, questioning why things had turned out like this ... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Cyrus was so distracted by having to call Celes back into her PokéBall that it took some time to recall Jean's final words. "So ..." Cyrus replied, "... You think it would be a good idea for us to walk out of sight and leave Mankey and Carbink be? Or stay in sight but far from them? Or join them under the tree? "I'm all ears," Cyrus confessed. "When I heard about the Friend Safari, I felt it might be the perfect opportunity for us. I ... I want to trust in that opportunity, now more than ever." "Congratulations!" Jean said, obviously pleased with the capture. "You may not have started your new relationship on exactly friendly grounds"--which was a bit ironic, considering this was a friend safari and she probably overreacted, to be honest, but done was done; it wasn't like she could take it all back now--"but you'll have plenty of time to work on that." The Kalosian sounded like he figured she'd be able to fix it all easily and Melissa blinked at him. Where exactly was he getting this confidence in her? They'd barely gotten to know each other at all! He continued, "Now that you have caught your Pokemon, our time together has come to an end. I am a little sad we don't have more time to get to know one another, but I do hope that we will one day meet again." She took the card he offered her with a lopsided grin as Prince ambled over to sit beside her and Wildfire tilted his head to the side. "If you should ever visit Kalos, I will be happy to show you around, but for now, mon amie, it is farewell. I wish you all the best and hope to meet with you again one day to see how far you have come, and perhaps battle with you and Phantump. Goodbye and good luck, mon amie, I hope you enjoy your new partner." She sighed and pocketed his card. "That sucks, but you're probably busy with the event and all, so thanks for the opportunity. I'll definitely look you up, if I'm ever in Kalos, but..." She shrugged. "Who know when that'll be. Wish you all the best, too, though, and we'll definitely meet up again one day for that battle. G'bye, Jean. It was nice meeting you." As the other trainer walked away, her Cyndaquil shifted forward to look at the Safari Ball in her hand and she turned her attention down to the new addition. She studied it for a moment, before glancing between her two Pokemon with a frown. "Did it mention why it was interested in me at all?" They exchanged looks and simultaneously shook their heads. She hummed. "D'you think Imp might be able to get it out of him? Or maybe Annabelle?" Wildfire shrugged and Prince blinked in response. Melissa huffed. "Well, guess we'll find out eventually. But, first..." She considered the Safari Ball and raised an eyebrow. "Heather, huh?" She paused for a moment and then her lips quirked upwards, as she murmured, "If you say so. Welcome to the team, Heather." Thanks for the adventure, Tess! Phantump is going to be an...interesting character to add to my team, that's for sure. ^^

Jean continued on to say that he was the son of a Gym Leader and a Pokemon Ranger, and so grew up surrounded by some well trained Pokemon. That, thanks to his parents, he had been lucky enough to work and train with some remarkable and powerful Pokemon, and as such was confident in raising any Pokemon he met. Jake glanced at his feet for a moment, wishing he could say the same about his parents. The only thing they gave him was twelve years he wanted to forget. Jean then explained that it wasn't the type or rarity that attracted him to a pokemon, it was there personality. That the pokemon that present themselves as untrainable is what fueled his desire to train. Jean then wished Jake luck on becoming a true Electric Pokemon Specialist. "T-thanks Jean" Jake replied. Suddenly, Error and the Carbink returned. Jake could tell that they were both tuckered out. "Was that exhausting, Error?" Jake asked. "Error never get's tired, Error is always full of energy!" Error droned.is pack for Jake laughed at the Magnemite's attempt to hide the fact that he was worn out. Just then Carbink's stomach began to rumble. The Jewel Pokemon blushed, before rubbing it's tiny belly. Jean pointed out that Carbink was a little hungry, before chuckling and looking through his pack for food. "Don't worry Jean, I-I've got this." Jake stated before grabbing his backpack and checking through it. "Pokedex, Coin Case, Pokeblock Case" Jake muttered to himself as he looked through the pack. Finally, Jake revealed a small green bag from the pack. Jake open the bag to find nothing. No berries to be seen. "O-ops looks like I don't have any food, s-sorry Carbink." Jake stammered Jake paused for a moment, before looking at Carbink. Hoping to get Carbink to forget about him having no food, Jake decided to compliment the Jewel Pokemon. "I-I like your eyes Carbink" Jake said with a smile. |

Jean's Friend Safari - Please reply in silver
EpicSquirtle: "That's ok, I have plenty for everyone!" Jean replies, pulling out sandwiches and fruit for the two of you and a bag of Pokétreats for the Pokémon, and while you engage in conversation with Carbink he turns his attention to Error who blinks at him curiously, waiting to see what this strange Kalosian trainer has to say. Meanwhile Carbink squeals delightedly in response to your compliment, performing a happy little spin before it begins nattering away without any idea at all that you cannot understand a word it is saying. That's ok though, because there are more ways to communicate than through words alone and you know the two of you will work out your own means of communication when given the chance. "Carbink really seems to like you," Jean comments, smiling at the little Jewel Pokémon as it turns its attention back to Error. "It may not be an Electric Pokémon, but it has many wonderful qualities. Perhaps you will consider raising it as a member of your team?" he adds, taking a bite of his sandwich while awaiting your response... Treepandaone: Cradily nods and obeys your commands, another Barrier appearing though this time in the form of a table with a border, several bumpers and a couple of flippers at the bottom. You can't help but be impressed by how well she has manipulated her move to account for these details which makes you wonder just how far a Pokémon is able to manipulate their extensive movepool to suit out of the ordinary situations. Right now, though, the attention is on your Pokémon who ushers Noibat over to the table, gesturing to the flippers. Noibat places its clawed fingers on each flipper, curious to see what happens next when Cradily shoots a Confuse Ray ball into the table and you all watch as things get interesting. Noibat Screeches so shrilly you could swear you hear glass breaking in the distance, or is that just your eardrums shattering? Its little body tenses up and it starts shaking madly, and for a moment you feel your heart leap into your throat as you fear you've somehow triggered some kind of seizure in the little bat. You soon realise, however, that Noibat is so excited it can barely contain itself and is having the time of its life bashing the little ball around the makeshift pinball machine. Even Cradily is a little surprised by its reaction, and if she had an eyebrow to raise you're sure it would be up there. Instead a little sweatdrop sits atop her brow, but is that from surprise of Noibat's antics or the energy its taking to keep this pinball machine going? A moment later the machine disappears and Noibat screeches again, pure adrenaline having worked it into quite an excitable state. It looks between the two of you, completely astounded, then flits over and latches itself onto Cradily's face, its little wings hugging her in thanks for showing it such a great time. Jean is chuckling heartily at this display of affection, laughing even harder when Noibat does the same to you. Noibat eventually pulls its little head back and looks into your eyes, its wings holding your cheeks so you are left staring into its cute little face only inches from yours. It feels odd being this close to a Pokémon, but not what you would class as unpleasant. It natters something to you that you all take to mean something along the lines of, "Can you teach ME to do that?!?!" whilst continuing to gaze hopefully into your eyes. "It looks like you've made a friend," Jean chuckles, clearly happy with the outcome of your meeting with Noibat... Talon87: Jean watches the exchange between yourself and Celes, concerned. The close relationship you share is wonderful, Jean would be lost without his own partner Pokémon, but the relationship between Celes and Mankey needs to be repaired or the relationship between all three of you is doomed and it will be a shame to sacrifice one friendship for another, regardless of how new or old a team member is. So Celes was involved with Mankey's capture, this explained some of the tension, but Jean cannot shake this feeling there is more to this story than meets the eye, and that a trip down memory lane to the day Mankey came on board will be needed in the very near future. That day played an important role in all of your lives and needs to be revisited. In the meantime you can see that Mankey and Carbink are getting on surprisingly well although the Jewel Pokémon is at the moment trying its best to cheer Mankey up. "You can trust in your Pokémon," Jean replies, squeezing your shoulder reassuringly. "How about we see what those two are up to?" he finishes, walking toward Mankey and Carbink and plonking himself down beside the pair. Mankey eyes him up and down, being sure to do so slowly and deliberately so as to intimidate this know-it-all stranger who thinks he has it all worked out, while Carbink flits about excitedly, happy to have so many new friends to play with. "So what's your story?" you hear Jean ask Mankey just as Carbink decides it wants to get to know you a little better and flits up into your line of vision, obscuring your view of Mankey and Jean. As distracted as you are with thoughts of Celes you can't help but smile at Carbink whose little gray body resembles a rock covered in light-blue crystals. A white, fluffy collar separates this Pokémon's head from a limbless body that just can't seem to stay still. Its lovely blue eyes are full of joy and wonder, and it practically bounces with excitement when an acquaintance hovers by, the large red eyes of the stump-like Pokémon glowing eerily as it goes about its business. Eventually Carbink returns your attention to Mankey, hoping to see him cheer up, only for you both to find Jean and Mankey deep in what appears to be conversation. At least Mankey seems to be speaking in its own tongue and Jean, for all intents and purposes, appears to be understanding every word Mankey is saying. Very curious indeed. "Well here they are," Jean grins upon noting your attention is now on him. "It took a little coaxing but your partner seems to have perked up in the end," he continues, smiling at Mankey whose expression is no longer glum, but curious. Very, very curious. Something about Jean has caught his interest and although it's not like they've become fast friends or anything, there is certainly a difference in Mankey's attitude toward him which is no longer mistrustful. You're just not quite sure exactly what it is or how that change has come about. "It's nice to see that you and Carbink are becoming acquainted, it really is quite an interesting little Pokémon and certainly seems to have won your Mankey over," Jean comments, his eyes moving toward the small Pokémon who is now trying to coax Mankey into playing a game with it. Mankey at first appears resistant, but then slowly allows Carbink to lead it into the grass where Carbink play-tackles him. Mankey is surprised and responds with a half serious punch that has you holding your breath as you expect Carbink to become upset but Carbink is far from bothered and starts to draw the little primate into a play battle. Mankey glances at you warily and for a moment you catch a hint of fear in his expression. Fear that you may disapprove of his actions, but he goes along with Carbink anyway, hesitantly at first, but then engaging more freely, and soon enough the two are practically sparring partners. You wince at a couple of Mankey's moves, thinking he's perhaps a bit too rough on Carbink, but the little Jewel Pokémon sure is holding its own so you hang back and watch, hoping this doesn't get out of hand. "Perhaps you can let Celes see this, Cyrus?" Jean asks, his eyes glued to Carbink and Mankey. "It may be helpful for her to see he can interact positively with another Pokémon, even if they are a little on the rough side at the moment. Somehow I feel confident that things will work out for all of you, but for that to happen Mankey and Celes are going to need to open a dialogue. It doesn't need to be today, or even tomorrow, but if she can see he has the ability to be friendly perhaps she may be more open to giving him a chance? What do you say? Would you like to try it now, or perhaps later?" he asks, leaving the decision with you. "Whatever the case, I'm sure Carbink will be around for a while to come," he adds, smiling and nodding toward the Safari Ball he gave you not too long ago... Manon's Friend Safari - Please reply in red Charminions: Feeling a little more confident, you take Manon's cue and hold the Safari Ball in your hand before turning to Sheba. It is important to consider the feelings of your team mates when taking on a new member after all, and so after receiving a swift and eager answer in the affirmative you turn to the little Fox Pokémon. "So how about it, Fennekin... Wanna join our team?" Fennekin's eyes soften and she nuzzles into your free hand, giving it an affectionate lick before looking at the Safari Ball and reaching out to trigger the release mechanism with her paw, giving you a beautiful new little Lv.5 female Fennekin to care for. Releasing her a moment later she leaps into your arms and showers you with kisses while Manon laughs delightedly. "I am so thrilled for the two of you, I'm sure you will be very happy together!" she gushes, reaching out to scratch the little fox behind the ear. "Unfortunately Fennekin's capture does mean our time together has come to an end but I do hope you will consider visiting me in Kalos one day as I look forward to seeing how you are all getting on, especially with your Magmortar. In the meantime, please take this," she says, handing you a card with her contact details. "It's been a pleasure meeting you Charm, please take as long as you like before leaving here, you are welcome to continue looking around if you'd like to explore a little longer," Manon finishes, placing a gentle goodbye kiss on your cheek before walking toward the entrance of the Friend Safari to greet her next guest. Returning your attention to your two fire Pokémon you mull over the days' events. You'd certainly never expected to end the day with the addition of a new team member, especially one as lovely and rare as this, but that is the beauty of being a Pokémon trainer as you never know what is around the corner. Today has certainly provided you with a unique and memorable experience, who knows what tomorrow will bring... Lass El: "But of course! I pass by the Perle Fountain every weekend on my way to Lumiose City!" Manon exclaims, excited by your interest in her homeland. "It is in a beautiful area with perfectly manicured gardens called Parterre Way. It's an absolutely gorgeous spot that I'm sure you will love." Manon beams, delighted to have yet another spot to show you. "I wonder though," she muses thoughtfully, "Is it possible you are descended from the Kalos region? Perle is not a common name, so perhaps your ancestry is something else we can look into when you come to visit?" Soon enough attention has shifted to Bergmite as you are preparing to part ways with Manon, the little Ice Chunk Pokémon gazing at you nervously after Manon's suggestion, its fears put quickly to rest as you happily accept ownership of the little fellow. Elated, the Lv.5 male Bergmite disappears with a final, "Bergmite!" to farewell the girl who had brought him to this new land to help find him a new and loving trainer. "I am so genuinely happy to have met you El," Manon smiles as she embraces you in a warm hug. "I did not know what to expect from this 'Friend Safari' but I feel that you and I are destined to meet again one day. Take care mon amie, until we meet again," and with a wave the girl is gone. Gazing at the Safari Ball in your hand you wonder what the future holds for yourself and your new team mate in a world that has just opened up a brand new door to explore and you have the strangest feeling that whatever it is will certainly be an epic adventure in itself... CyberBlastoise: Finally you've encountered a Pokémon you feel you may be able to connect with, and the fact it had already managed to save your headache from turning into a migraine by scaring off that mangy raucous mutt, and Bergmite has already managed to score a couple of brownie points. Getting down to introduce yourself you've barely uttered a word before Megas leaps in to take centre stage. Manon giggles at this, shaking her head. "I know someone just like that," she laughs, looking Megas up and down as he strikes his macho pose. "He is just as attention seeking and perhaps a little in love with himself as well," she sighs good-naturedly, her tone leaving no doubt about the fact she very much loves the person she is referring to despite their ego mania and habitual penchant for stealing the limelight. "Bergmite!" the little ice-type replies, and before long the two Pokémon are lost in pokechatter. You're pleased to see Megas and Bergmite getting along so well but are not quite sure whether or not to interrupt their conversation when you hear Manon utter a surprised, ""Oh my..." "I'm sorry," she smiles upon noting you'd overheard. "I just hadn't realised just how late it is getting. I guess with all of the distractions we lost track of time and now the day is almost over." "Bergmite!" the small Pokémon suddenly cries, clearly not ready for this meeting to end. "Oh do not worry Bergmite, I am sure Megas and Bill will be happy to spend more time with you," Manon smiles, giving you a wink and nodding to your Safari Ball. "This experience is all about making friends, after all, and it seems to me the three of you are wanting to get to know one another." "What do you say?" she asks, while the two Pokémon watch on hopefully... OkikuMew: Stopping for nobody Ayla remains curled up and on the move, continuing to Rollout along her projected path then coming back around for a second attack. Fennekin manages to evade her this time then tries going after Ayla again with the same combination of attacks but given Ayla's Curled up Defensive position, along with her keenness to win this battle urging her to keep on rolling, it isn't long before the little fox takes another hit. Yelping as it's knocked over you watch while it regains its feet, a little unsteady but otherwise determined, bravely squaring up against your Pokémon to show it is not afraid. You can tell Fennekin is quite tired now with its breathing becoming laboured. All of the racing around seeming almost futile when looking at Ayla who is having a grand old time tearing up the lawn of Manon's safari habitat. Deciding now is a good time to implement a new strategy, Fennekin this time races at Ayla with Embers flying before taking a flying leap and throwing itself on the ground in front of her. Rolling into Fennekin Ayla "bumps" off him, taking flight with a startled cry. A glint can be seen in Fennekin's eye as Ayla arcs back down and hits the ground with a mind-numbing thud that dents the soil where she has landed. More surprised than anything, Ayla opens out of her rollout position, the first thing she sees being Fennekin's gleeful grin as it breathes a flurry of Embers straight into Ayla's face. Nasty welts appear immediately where the small flames have burned her, and with her pain-filled groan reaching your ears you can only watch while her metal claws gleam in the sunlight and she lashes out at the little Fox Pokémon. Fennekin yelps and retaliates with a scratch of its own, but you can see it's feeling quite woozy now. Ayla may be burned, but Fennekin is clearly running low on energy which may just be the opportunity you need to catch it... |

El beamed as she cradled the Safari Ball in her arms as if she was holding its new inhabitant. It was much more pleasant than her previous capture, for it to happen willingly (she was fairly sure the Scyther only stuck around because she had food). As such, she just wanted to take a few seconds to let it sink in before she got to the traditional naming. As her mind turned to that issue she bit her lip as she racked her mind, though it only took a few seconds for her to hit a burst of inspiration. "Alex!" she exclaimed. "Yeah, you definitely seem like an Alex to me! I hope you like it, heh." But the start of her time with Alex of course meant the end of her time with Manon. Her smile softened, though didn't vanish entirely, as she turned to face Manon. "So, uh, thanks," she said with an awkward chuckle. "I'm glad I met you too, today's been great. I-I mean, I made two friends! And Nikki evolved! How could it be bad after all that?" She tilted her arms so that Alex's ball rolled into her hand, grabbing it to bring it up to her face for a better look. "I'll take good care of this guy, I promise. And next time we see each other, it'll be in Kalos! Definitely! Have fun with the others, too!" With a thumbs up from her free hand and a slight bow of her head, El turned around to leave, clutching Alex's Safari Ball close to her heart. She was already running through the logistics in her head, first things first would be learning some French... ((Thank you! It's been nice to sit down and do some more character-based stuff than the actiony adventures El's wound up in so far in zones and such. Not to mention that Bergmite and Avalugg have gotten prety high in my overall list of favourites, much less gen VI. It's been fun!))

The Fennekin wasn't ready to back down, despite what it looked like a one-sided battle. It started running after the rolling Aron, still blasting Embers at her... but was able to catch up and get in front of her, and suddenly lied down. "Oh no," Okiku muttered to herself, realising what the fire Pokémon has in mind. Not catching on the trick like her trainer, Ayla went full speed towards her opponent, now turned into a bumpy ramp of sorts. She collided right into it, and effectively fling her into the air. She let out a surprised scream before landing harshly on land, denting the previously flat ground. Confused at what happened, the Iron Pokémon uncurled herself then shook for a little while. "Ooooooooooooh no," the Kantonian girl repeated. Just as Ayla regained her senses, Fennekin had a large smile across its face before throwing an eruption of Embers, each and one of them hitting the Aron. Unable to do anything, she just stood there, wailing, accumulating the pain... and the burns. "Aaaaaw crap, hang on Ayla!" her trainer said, even though she was griding her teeth. Ayla was not gonna back down that easily. Bristling with rage, she yelled a battle scream while she dashed with her Metal Claws towards the Fennekin. The fox yelped, then retorted with her own Scratches, which hurt Ayla... but not that much. Even if Aron was burned, she was definitely still in better shape than Fennekin, as its stance wobbled. "Aaaaaaaaaaaar!" Ayla roared, as if complimenting her opponent's fighting spirit and skills, yet taunting her at the same time and refusing to back down. "Just a liiiiiiiiittle more, girl!" Okiku cheered, "We're almost done! Use your Superpower for one good, last shot at it!" She readies her Safari Ball in her hand, planning to throw after that attack hits. "If you need to do something afterwards though," she added, just to be safe in case things don't go as she planned, "heighten your Defense with Iron so you can tough things out!" |

Looking back over to the events laying out in front of him, Matthew burst into a wry smile. Noibat's excitement grew as it grabbed the flippers with both claws, playing with Cradily's impressive recreation like Matthew did when he was a kid. Such reaction was given, he too had felt the exhilarating thrill that pinball had to offer, so much so that it still remained a favourite in a world of high powered graphics that is modern video games. There was still a hint of amazement that Noibat's original scream wasn't an act of battle, the ear-drum shattering cry had Matthew worried the jolting moves of Cradily had forced the small bat Pokémon to react with aggression, a fate he certainly wanted to avoid throughout the encounter, but had anxiety it would be a necessity. Cradily showed signs of fatigue, the expansive moves in both a creative sense and moves were starting to show, and Matthew begun to hope that she was all right. His Pokémon had done him superbly proud, creative mechanisms far beyond his wildest imaginations and making him question his bog-standard attack system. Perhaps there a way to incorporate such techniques into the ancient, if not stagnant, art of battling, where he would surely be spending more time on actual adventure when his back was against the wall. Pulling his Pokédex onto the notes page he quickly scribbled a few sketches, a plan of action to put into practice once he returned to the comforts of his currently barren base. Not a moment later did the veteran trainer hear the pop of the pinball machine dissipate, the strain of keeping the moves going proving too strong for the now tired companion. Noibat once again released a screech, this time its excitable state turned up from adrenaline causing the peculiar reaction of hugging Cradily's face. Matthew's wry smile spread far across his face, until he burst into laughter in unison with Jean, both trainers appreciating the cuteness of the situation. That was, of course, until Niobat applied the same vice-like hug to his face, grabbing his cheeks together as it struggled to get its small frame properly around his grin. He moved his hand up, then back down. Should he stroke Noibat? Shouldn't he? He opted against it, the positive of having a screeching bat scream mere inches away from his face outweighed the potential closeness he could have achieved. Some time passed before Noibat let go, pulling its head back to stare in his eyes. An odd sensation for sure, his eyes flittering from one side of Noibat's tiny face to the other so he didn't get dizzy. The Sound Wave Pokémon begun to natter, flailing its arms around, as it pointed to Cradily then to itself. Could it learn that? Jean chuckled lightly in the corner as Matthew moved the Pokédex from his hand to eye-level, just behind and to the left of Noibat as he begun to look through the moveset. He bit his lip as he scrolled, seeing the flying dragon couldn't learn many of the moves Cradily utilized. “Well … not that one. BUT I could see you creating a light gun arcade game with Double Team, Agility and Air Cutter” He paused, hoping the Pokémon's reaction wouldn't be too disheartened “But if you'd like the join the team my base has a pinball machine you can play unlimited. Plus we've got ball games like pool, video games, TVs, water balloons. Plus a whole host of Pokémon just as awesome as Cradilly!” Matthew reached into his jacket pocket, pulling out the Safari Ball and holding it in open palm next to the lavender bat, looking forward to its reaction to his invitation. profile |

Both the Bergmite and Megas seemed to be having a blast. Manon gave a little insight of what Megas' personality is currently like. Bill gave a small laugh and said, "You have no idea. You should've seen what Megas was like when he was younger. Destructive, aggressive, the whole nine yards. While he's....well he's still aggressive, he at least has a lot more control of what he does." The redish tint to the sun set the mood pretty well as well. A nice time to sit back and relax at least while the two have a lot of fun, well mostly Megas doing what he does best, showing off. Bergmite seemed very impressed with Megas as well, having its own fun too. Megas kept doing several gestures which Bill could only assume meant that it was bragging a lot. He really got that from Gold, a Totodile which is now in the possession of his original owner, and closest thing to a father figure to Megas. However, the fun wouldn't last for long, as Manon pointed out that they have almost no time left to stick around, and really they didn't. The Bergmite seemed genuinely upset about the fact that they had to leave shortly. Megas, likewise, was a bit sad about the fact that someone finally was giving him the attention he so rightly deserves and he had to part so soon. Not only that but this was also the last Pokemon that Bill was going to see here. Manon looked toward the Safari Ball Bill was carrying with him, which he honestly forgot he had on him. Bill knelt down to the Bergmite and held out the Pokeball towards it. "You can travel with us if you want to. I know Megas would appreciate it and I would too." He set the Safari Ball down on the ground and backed away for a bit. "What do you say?" A sudden rush of nostalgia hit Bill as this was something very similar to the Pokemon he first caught since he entered the Fizzy Region, Swift the Lumineon. He gave a reassuring smile to the Bergmite and Megas seemed to do the same, just adding a thumbs-up since he didn't have a mouth to convey a smile. |

Jean's Friend Safari - Please reply in silver
Treepandaone: "Well … not that one," you begin, watching the light begin to fade from Noibat's eyes. "BUT I could see you creating a light gun arcade game with Double Team, Agility and Air Cutter," you continue quickly, your heart recovering quickly as the excitement returns and Noibat nods so vigorously you're afraid it's going to get dizzy. "But if you'd like the join the team my base has a pinball machine you can play unlimited." Noibat's eyes widen, its little face lighting up with excitement at this prospect. "Plus we've got ball games like pool, video games, TVs, water balloons." Noibat is now so happy it's about to pass out from pure elation and it looks at the Safari Ball you're holding up, wondering what kind of life it will have with you. "Plus a whole host of Pokémon just as awesome as Cradilly!" and the Lv.5 male Noibat is sold! It reaches out and slams down on the Safari Ball's release mechanism, its ear-splitting Screech of delight silenced by the capture beam as it is drawn inside the special Pokéball. Jean is chuckling again, Noibat's antics amusing him greatly and he reaches out to shake your hand. "Congratulations, Matthew," he smiles, happy to see this meeting turn out so well. "I am really looking forward to meeting up with you and your team again one day. I'm sure you'll do wonderful and extraordinary things if the show Cradily has put on for us today is any indication." "Now that you have caught your Pokémon our time together has come to an end," Jean continues, his tone indicating he's a little disappointed. "I am a little sad we don't have more time to get to know one another but for now it is farewell. Goodbye and good luck Mon'Ami, I hope you enjoy your new partner." As Jean walks away you and Cradily gaze at the Safari Ball in your hand. You've certainly managed to win the little Sound Wave Pokémon over but now the real test begins, so as you walk away from the Kalos event you look forward to discovering what the future holds for yourself, for Noibat, and for your entire team... Manon's Friend Safari - Please reply in red CyberBlastoise: With the two of you looking on while it contemplates the invitation to join your team, Bergmite is beaming with such happiness you'd be forgiven for feeling like a ray of sunshine is about to break free of the little ice-type. Its little eyes flit between your welcoming smile and Megas' cheerful thumbs up, and with a joyful, "Bergmite!", the Ice Chunk Pokémon puffs out a small flurry of Powder Snow. The move is not strong enough to do anything more than give your fingers a slight chill as the small gust lifts the Safari Ball into the air. Bergmite waddles forward, positioning itself just right so the ball taps it lightly on the head, activating the ball's capture beam and making you the proud owner of a happy little Lv.5 male Bergmite. "This is so wonderful, Bill. I am so happy you and Megas are already forming a friendship with Bergmite," Manon smiles, embracing you in a warm hug. "It may have taken a little while for us to find the right friend for you, but I trust we got there in the end," she smiles, stepping back and gazing fondly at the Safari Ball you are now holding. "I wish you every luck on your adventures and hope that one day you will come to visit me in Kalos," the girl continues in preparation to leave. "Please take as long as you like before leaving here, you are welcome to continue looking around if you'd like to explore a little longer but I must go now so take care mon'ami until we meet again," and with a wave the girl is gone. Gazing at the Safari Ball containing your new team mate you look to Megas who appears quite content with the addition of a new minion who has already proven itself ready and willing to admire him. Yes, today certainly has brought about a team-changing event and you have a good feeling about this little fellow who most definitely has the potential to be quite a formidable opponent... OkikuMew: Wanting to put an end to this for several very good reasons you convey your final instructions to Ayla and watch with baited breath while your little Aron follows through, concentrating a good deal of her remaining energy into one final, momentous, superpowered attack, slamming into Fennekin with such force that the little Fox Pokémon is now barely even conscious. It stumbles, trying with all its might to regain its feet, but to no avail. It slumps onto the ground, panting heavily, with Ayla collapsing next to it, relieved this battle is finally over. Fennekin nods at her and murmurs something along the lines of, "Good battle" before lowering its head and awaiting the inevitable as its eyes fall onto the Safari Ball clenched in your fist. Not skipping a beat you throw the ball, the green and yellow sphere arcing through the air toward the Lv.5 male Fennekin who makes no attempt at all to evade the capture beam or to break free of its new home. "Well done!" Manon claps enthusiastically, thrilled to see you've succeeded in catching a Pokémon from her safari that will fit so well onto your team. "It is unfortunate, however, that Fennekin's capture does mean our time together has come to an end, but I do hope you will consider looking me up if you decide to visit Kalos one of these days," she continues, a little more sombre. "It is such a lovely land with so much history, as you would know," she adds with a knowing wink. "I am sure we'll have a grand old time travelling from one place to the next. It's a wonderful way for trainers like ourselves to make many new friends." Looking around Manon can see the sky is starting to darken which means she'll need to wrap up her safari very soon. "It's been a pleasure meeting you Okiku. Please take as long as you like before leaving here, you are welcome to continue looking around if you'd like to explore a little further." "Until we meet again!" Manon finishes with a smile and a wave, returning to the entrance of the Friend Safari to greet her next guest while you gaze at the Safari Ball in your hand, contemplating your new addition and the role he will play on your team... |

"Woo hoo!" Bill exclaimed. This was the first time in a long time that he was able to capture a Pokemon out in the wild. He was super excited about this new capture. Suddenly his Pokedex sprang to life as it started to give out the information of his newly captured Pokemon. Quote:
"Kalos does sound like a nice place. I would definitely love to see it for myself sometime." Bill gave a slight smile while the small group headed back to the outside of the safari. He couldn't help but give a big grin while staring at the Safari Ball, this felt right. And who knows, maybe this is a super rare Pokemon too. He'd have to look at the statistics later to find that out though. Either way, it was time to move on to the next adventure. "Ready Megas?" Bill's eyes wandered towards the now setting dark orange sun. The Golett just gave a big thumbs up to his trainer and looked out to the horizon with him. "Well, let's go." Thank you Tess for this adventure. I'll be sure to cherish my new Pokemon. |

Manon is excited to see the bond formed between trainer and Pokemon, but mentions that her time with Charm has to end now. She scratches Amber behind the ears as she tells Charm to visit her in Kalos some time, handing him a card with her contact info. She gentle kisses him on the cheek before moving onto her next guest. The trainer looked frozen by the kiss, though his heart was gushing with joy. He definitely intended to see her again, but for today their journey has come to a close. He turns to Amber and Shinka, "Let's get going, you two. There's a lot more adventure out there for us!" He rises up and heads out of the entrance of the safari, his fiery canine comrades manning each side of him as they say their farewells to the safari. OOC: Thank so much for the adventure, Tess! It was a ton of fun and I really enjoyed what you did with Manon's character for this storyline.

Seeing that things have calmed down, Okiku hummed to herself, smiling. "Both of you did a good job. And I know both can do even better!" She then spun the Safari Ball in her hands for a second before throwing it gently at the fire Pokémon. After a flash of red light absorbed the Fennekin into it, the special Pokéball hardly even shook before it settled down and let out a soothing hum. Okiku smiled even more brightly, and ran up next to the Safari Ball and picked it up. "Wee, I got a Fennekin!" she cheered while she gleefully giggled, and Ayla weakly growled in joy. "Well done!" Manon clapped her hands happily, before her voice turned slightly glum. "It is unfortunate, however, that Fennekin's capture does mean our time together has come to an end, but I do hope you will consider looking me up if you decide to visit Kalos one of these days. It is such a lovely land with so much history, as you would know," she winked, "I am sure we'll have a grand old time travelling from one place to the next. It's a wonderful way for trainers like ourselves to make many new friends." "Hé, c'est sűre que je vais visiter Kalos un jour!" Okiku grinned as she spoke in Kalos' language again, although in a slight different dialect and accent, one she grew up with. "Mes ancętres viennent de d'lŕ, bien sűr qu'il y a de l'histoire! Pis ŕ cause je suis en voyage et j'ai lŕ un beau dirigeable juste pour ça, ça serait une honte de pas faire un tour!"* The Kalosian girl then looked at the sky for a moment, which was starting to darken as time went by. "It's been a pleasure meeting you Okiku. Please take as long as you like before leaving here, you are welcome to continue looking around if you'd like to explore a little further." "It was a great pleasure meeting you too, Manon! Thanks for the offer for staying here longer," the Kantonian girl lightly bowed, "but I... think Ayla would agree it would be best to rest up instead." she looked at her exhausted Aron, growling in agreement to her statement. "Until we meet again!" Manon smiled and waved at her before walking back to the safari's entrance to greet other visitors. "Yeah! See ya!" Okiku waved back. "I'll make sure to find ya whenever I visit Kalos!" She looked at her Safari Ball for a moment, grinning again... but her bubble got busted by her Aron, grunting for attention. "Sorry Ayla, it's just... it's been a while I haven't caught anything in the wild like that!" she embarrassingly scratched the back of her head. "Alright alright, let's take care of you." she picked her up, carefully wrapped her arms around her, and walked in the direction of her airship base to fly to the nearest Pokémon Center. "As soon as you recover, you'll have plenty of time to challenge again your new friend... Henry." * Translation of Okiku's French-talking: Spoiler: show Thank you so much for the little adventure, Tess! ^^ I had a lot of fun through it, especially about the whole issue with Manon's gender at the beginning X3 I'll take good care of Henry! And I hope you had fun updating too Last edited by OkikuMew; 02-10-2015 at 07:11 PM. |

He pressed on, struggling not to purr his admiration and hug the bat, promising games and similarly great Pokémon on his team. Noibat's character begun to take hold with every word, it's small frame bouncing around with life that Matthew hadn't seen in such a long time. His team, mainly composed of fossils and rock-types, had little energy compared to the hyper-active Pokémon and it was a nice change of pace from Matthew's day-to-day life. He finished his speech as Noibat turned to the custom Safari Ball, slamming himself down onto the little capture button and letting out a squeal of excitement. The ball wiggled in his hand, stopping on completion with a resounding and reassuring 'plink'. His Pokédex, too, registered the capture, updating his information page with his newest acquisition’s stats, body style and Kalos location. Matthew smiled, quickly releasing the Pokémon from its ball and into the air, now a bonafide member of his team. “Welcome to the team Noibat!” he said, passionately, “Ready to have some fun?” Noibat responded in typical fashion, loop-the-looping in the air to demonstrate its aerial acrobatics. It would be some time before Matthew would be able to teach it the advanced moves Cradily knew, but the veteran Pokémon trainer sure was excited for the journey in-between. Yet another Pokémon had joined his ageing team, injecting a much needed life and making the trainer himself fired up for adventures that lay ahead. "Congratulations, Matthew,” Jean's begun to speak as Matthew realized his time in the Friend Safari was coming to a close, the foreign trainer shaking his hand as he continued, "I am really looking forward to meeting up with you and your team again one day. I'm sure you'll do wonderful and extraordinary things if the show Cradily has put on for us today is any indication. Now that you have caught your Pokémon our time together has come to an end I am a little sad we don't have more time to get to know one another but for now it is farewell. Goodbye and good luck Mon'Ami, I hope you enjoy your new partner.” Matthew too shared his guide's compassion and disappointment. He had so expertly toured the trainer round the sights of the Friend Safari with capable ease, pointing out much needed information on the Pokémon they encountered. It was perhaps to be expected given his background but Matthew still appreciated it very much, humbled by how much passion he had for Pokémon despite the pressure one had assumed onto him. “Jean, it's been a blast traveling with one. Perhaps one day I could show you around Fizzy Bubbles, I'm sure the adventure would be quite sometime in your company” Matthew said, sweeping his hand into his jacket pocket. He pulled a pen and notepad before scribbling the address to his secret base “If you're ever in my neck of the woods swing by. We'll have a beer, catch up and tell stories well into the night” The two trainers parted ways, Matthew heading for the exit and Jean back towards the registry point, no doubt to collect another trainer for the event to show them round. He stared at the camouflage ball Noibat now called home, clipping it onto his Pokébelt with a smile. The test of raising the hyperactive Pokémon was the real test. He stopped mid-track and mid-thought, turning to Cradily before the fully exited the grounds. “Cradily, you performed magnificently” he started, reaching into his bag to collect a Blue Cyberball from the depths. He snapped the Premier Ball at the hinge, presented the grass-fossil with her reward “You've done the whole team proud … Shea” Collecting himself, Matthew walked through the exit, Cradily and Noibat in tow... OoC: Transferring Cradily from her old Premier Ball into a Blue Cyberball [1/1] Thanks so much for the adventure Tess, it was great fun and a real change of pace! Thanks for allowing my unorthodox capture technique. Hope life begins to become easier for you, you're doing a great job Last edited by Treepandaone; 03-03-2015 at 10:04 AM. |

Though Jake wasn't prepared in terms of food, Jean was. Stating that he had plenty for everybody as he took out fruit, Pokétreats and sandwiches. Meanwhile, Jake was happy to see Carbink react so joyfully to his compliment. Jake smiled as he saw Carbink do a twirl. "I'm glad I could make you so happy Carbink" Carbink then started to chatter away, oblivious to the fact that Jake couldn't understand anything that it said. "Do I tell Carbink I don't understand?" Jake asked himself. After a brief moment he shook his head. "Nah, I don't want to upset it...." "Carbink really seems to like you." Jean said. "It may not be an Electric Pokemon, but it has many wonderful qualities" Jake nodded. That was true, it also seemed to get along with Error quite well, something that couldn't be said for many of his Pokemon. "Perhaps you'll consider raising it as member of your team?" Jean added before biting into his sandwich. "A member of my team?" Jake pondered. Though it was true that he had come here, looking for a potential Pokemon to add to his team, he had never thought he would actually find anything. But would Carbink agree? What if Carbink refused? What would he do then? He'd never made a capture attempt since he caught his very first pokemon, over two years ago! "No, I have to try! There's no point in worrying!" Jake thought. "Umm, Carbink I know this might sound sudden, but do you want to be apart of my team?" Jake asked. "You'll never be lonely, and we can build I can build you as much shelters as you wish! I know I'd love to have you join us and I'm sure Error would too!" "Of course Error would, Carbink is amazing! Zero four error!" Error droned. Jake chuckled at what Error had said, before taking out the shiny Safari Ball that Jean had given him and held it out to Carbink. "So what do you say Carbink, w-would you like to join us?" |

"You two really are quite the team. I'm sure you'll knock the socks off the audience if you ever take up contest battles," Tess laughs, praising them both. "You little Goomy are absolutely adorable and I know will have trainers falling for you left, right, and centre," she adds with a smile, tickling its little head affectionately. "I know a couple of people who'd snap up a Pokémon like you in an instant so if you really want to meet someone wonderful you let Byron know and we can arrange a meeting," she winks, hoping this prospect will make Goomy happy. "And if you'd like to meet up with me again sometime soon perhaps you can ask Byron to visit a new land that attracts many new trainers. It was discovered long after I began my journey, but I do plan on visiting. I'm not exactly sure of its name, just that it's surrounded by an Ocean of Mystery so maybe we'll meet again after all." "As for you little Inkay," Tess grins, looking to the sparkling Pokémon with renewed interest. "You strike me as the fun-loving type and goodness knows I could use a little fun these days". Falling silent Tess thinks about the path ahead and feels that Inkay will be just the kind of partner she is going to need upon her journeys. It strikes her as being fun-loving and carefree with the ability to be deathly serious when the need arises and she is planning on visiting some dangerous places in the near future. Holding the Safari Ball in her hand she lifts it so that it's just below Inkay's eye level. "I can't promise that the road we take will be an easy one, but I can guarantee it'll be far from dull," Tess says, looking Inkay straight in the eye. "If you do join me we are going to visit many places and meet many people and Pokémon along the way, some of who will be special enough to stay in touch with," she adds, glancing at Byron to make her point. "But one thing I can promise is that I will do my utmost to ensure we raise you and train you to be the best Pokémon you can be," she finishes, moving the Safari Ball an inch closer to Inkay. "What do you say?" Tess asks, hoping Inkay will agree to join her.

Byron’s Zone: please reply in brown
enchantress: The two little Pokemon had you enraptured as they showed off their moves hoping to impress you enough to earn your love and respect. You head the words of Byron as twin sets of eyes look up at you with hope shining brightly, you could only choose one of these Pokemon to befriend and add to your team. You didn't want to be greedy and both Pokemon were more than eager to go with you but there were rules and you were going to have to let one of them down as gently as possible. The decision was an easy one, you heart had already chosen your new friend, now came the hardest part, letting the other know your choice. They both wriggle with delight at your praise and Goomy lights up as you address it. It blushes as you compliment its cuteness and sighs as you tickles its head. It looks into your eyes and its smile drops a little as it hears the rest of what you have to say. It could already sense your decision and it blinks back tears before placing its smile back on its cute little face. It clung onto the little hope that you would try to find it again in the future and nodded agreeing that it would like a future chance to meet up once again. It nuzzled your hand one more time before slipping away not wanting a teary good bye. Inkay watches Goomy wriggle off with a slight frown feeling a new sense of respect for the dragon, it didn't know if it would be that brave had your decision been different. Its frown is quickly thrown away for a large grin as it floats up and dances around your head with utter delight. You can't help but giggle at the playful Pokemon's exuberance, it was a fun Pokemon and that was just what you needed right now. It continued to dance around you stopping every now and then to tickle you with its tentacles always moving away before you could catch it. You fall silent as you begin to think about your path laid ahead of you, there was much to do and many trials that awaited you. You felt confident that Inkay could handle them with you with a smile and a laugh but you had to allow it to make an informed decision. Inkay stopped playing to stare at you curiously as you offered it the choice holding your Safari Ball out to it. Inkay's eyes turned towards the ball then back to you as you finished your promise to it. Its eyes sparkled with the thought of adventure, all the fun it would have with you and how you could grow together. It gave you a bold raspberry and laughed before hugging the Safari Ball, turning to red energy and eventually is absorbed inside. The ball hardly wiggled before you felt it click in your hand. Congratulations. You have captured a Level 05 Male Inkay. Bryon placed his hand on your shoulder almost startling you as you stared at the ball containing your new Pokemon. “I admire you mon cheri, it was very diplomatic but heart-felt at the same time. I know Goomy was disappointed but I could also see that it is looking forward to meeting you again, who knows what the future holds after all. You have made Inkay very happy and I can see that you will be good for each other and that makes me very happy. Alas our time together must come to an end too dear friend, but I too along with Goomy will look forward to the day we will meet again.” He says with a smile kissing the back of your hand. “I don't believe in good byes either” he says with a wink has he lead you back to the entrance of his zone. He gives you a final wave as you make your way down that path, one that no longer looks so long or dull , not with Inkay by your side. You can add Inkay’s data to your registration post and start RPing with him right away. Congratulations on the capture ^-^ |

Jean's Friend Safari - Please reply in silver
EpicSquirtle: Mulling over what Jean has said you watch Carbink who really does appear to be quite a chirpy little Pokémon. It's taken a liking to both you and Error, and Error is enjoying Carbink's company immensely. It doesn't take a genius to see these two Pokémon will become fast friends, but while you contemplate the possibility of asking Carbink to join your team, doubts start to creep in. It's been so long since you've tried to catch a Pokémon, what if you fail? What if Carbink says no? But you soon cast those doubts aside and go for broke, asking the little Jewel Pokémon if it will consider joining your team. Listening to promises of how well it will be looked after, and how it'll never be lonely again, little Carbink is as happy as can be, happily accepting your offer by bopping itself against your Safari Ball's release mechanism and allowing the capture beam to draw it inside. "Congratulations!" Jean cries, smiling at the ball containing your new Lv.5 genderless Carbink who is safely nestled inside. "I'm sure you and Carbink will great friends," he continues, clearly happy about your capture. "Unfortunately Carbink's capture does mean that our time together has come to an end, but I am happy to see today's event has helped you find a new friend. Goodbye and good luck mon'ami, I hope you enjoy your new partner." Watching Jean return to the Safari's entry point to meet the next trainer, you and Error take another look at the Safari Ball in your hand. Whatever the future holds, you're sure you'll all have a wonderful time along the way... |

Jake waited anxiously for Carbink to make it's decision. Though it was only a second or two it felt way longer. Finally Carbink made it's decision. As happy as could be, Carbink tapped the button on the Safari Ball. Jake watched in anticipation as the beam pulled it inside. Jake was in shock, he had done it, he had successfully captured Carbink. "I-I did it, I caught a Carbink!" Jake cheered before picking up the Safari Ball. "Congratulations!" Jean cried. "I'm sure you and Carbink will great friends. Unfortunately Carbink's capture does mean that our time together has come to an end, but I am happy to see today's event has helped you find a new friend. Goodbye and good luck mon'ami, I hope you enjoy your new partner." "T-thank you Jean, without you, this day wouldn't have been nearly as spectacular! Jake replied with a broad smile. "Error is thankful as well! Without Jean, Error wouldn't have met a new friend!" Error droned. With that, Jean returned to the entry of the Safari, awaiting the next trainer. "Well, guess we best be going, huh Error?" Jake asked. "Error is excited! Where are we going next?!" "I don't know, but where ever we go, I'm sure it won't be as exciting as today was! But for now, let's introduce everyone to Carbink!" And with that, Error and Jake ran off towards home. With Carbink now in tow, Jake was sure he could do anything! OOC: Thank you so much for this awesome journey! I know my writing quality may not have been the best, but I appreciate that you stuck with it without complaint! Good luck with all your future updates! |

Inkay's joy soon has Tess drying her eyes, however, a smile playing at her lips while the excited Pokémon dances about performing a dazzling light show for her. Although a part of her is still very much with Goomy she knows she cannot allow her feelings to impact on Inkay's happiness so she turns her full attention to him. This is a moment of celebration after all. After a few minutes of play Tess is feeling better, it's nice to have some not-so-serious company around to take the edge off her own increasingly sombre mood as of late. She needs to make it up to her team and what better way to start than with a new member at a new event introducing a new era? Encouraged by Inkay's sheer happiness Tess watches while he willingly makes the Safari Ball his new home then clasps the ball in her hand for a few moments to remind herself of how good it feels to have a Pokémon willingly join her team. Memories come flooding back and she smiles. Yes, she really does have a lot of ground to make up and now she's looking forward to doing so. Turning to Byron Tess can sense this part of her adventure is over but is quite looking forward to meeting the young man again sometime. He's pleasant, modest, and down to earth, and she very much she likes that about him, so when he takes her hand to kiss the back of it she smiles rather than pull away. Eventually finding herself back at the entrance of Byron's zone Tess watches him retreat with one final wave, her eyes scanning the area for any sign of one of the most adorable little Pokémon she has met upon her journeys but sees nothing. With a regretful sigh Tess turns and walks away, this moment bittersweet. She had started this day thinking this whole event was a sham, but is leaving hoping she has made not one, but three friends out of it. Inkay, Byron... and Goomy whom she desperately hopes she will meet again one day. Lifting the Safari Ball while she walks, she triggers the release mechanism. "Feel like keeping me company for a while?" she asks Inkay with a smile. Thank you Arc for making this a memorable event, it definitely ranks as one of my favourites. My new little friend is pretty cute, too ;).

Wyatt's Zone- Please respond in Blue jolteonjak: The battle between Ledyba and the Tyrunt continued on even as you and Wyatt got caught up with one another. The Kalosian nodding with a hint of embarrassment when you asked him if was alright after falling into a hole himself. Even with Ledyba taking a good hit, it didn't seem to affect the bug much. It wasn't until Wyatt reminded you about the Clauncher you were carrying that you realized there were other things to do besides fight off an unstoppable eating machine. Still, with a few commands, Ledyba took up position between yourself and the Tyrunt. From the looks of things the Five-Star pokemon was ready to protect you and your goal of getting the bluish crustacean back to water no matter what happened. You reach the water with no problems although you find that you have to step into the pond a few feet to find deep enough water to submerge the clauncher given how shallow it is at the edge. The Clauncher in your sling is still looking pretty sickly with its glazed over eyes and open mouth. Regardless, once you set it down in the water you can visibly see the pokemon starting to look a little better. The dry skin and shell already have a little more vibrant look them than they did just moments ago. Still, the pokemon seems to be rather weak and helpless even as the water rejuvenates it. You can tell it will take some time before it is healthy enough to survive without some care as evidenced by your comment to Wyatt. The Kalosian trainer looks at you for am moment and then begins digging around in his pockets, "I might be able to help you with that. Just give me a minute." When he said a minute, he most definitely meant it. Whatever Wyatt was looking for wasn't something he could just pull out quick. Either that or the guy was just slow. "Aha!" the Kalosian shouted in victory, "Here it is! Use this on clauncher and it should help it heal back up in no time." Wyatt tossed to a pink vial to you. Meanwhile, like a clock that refuses to stop ticking the Tyrunt is once more on the move. Ledyba being the only obstacle between it and a meal. Unless it decides to make a meal of Ledyba that is. What will you do? Chantelle's Zone- Please respond in LemonChiffon sweetbbydoll: It was a surprising turn of events when your motherly side showed itself to the bratty dinosaur. While the tone was stern, there was some genuine caring in it as well. You explain the good that can come from working together and in the end get Apy and Sam to do just that with a dazzling appeal that would make any coordinator jealous. Your display or rather Apy and Sam's glittery display was a wonder to behold. The small sparks left from the swift stars slowly flickered to the ground like the embers of a fireworks display. "Wow! That was beautiful." Chantelle commented with eyes wide open and a big smile on her face, "I have to say that I have never seen anything like that in my life. I wonder if maybe I should try a contest someday. I hear that the Sinnoh region is a really popular place for contests. There is even supposed to be a woman in Hearthome City who is not only a great coordinator, but a Gym Leader too. I think her name is Fantinia. Have you ever heard of her?" The Amaura, meanwhile, had plopped down on the ground and while it kept one eye on what was going on, tears were streaming from its eyes. Whether it was from your scolding or something else, it was becoming apparent that this particular pokemon was emotionally a little unstable. The sniffling coming from the dino was getting louder and louder, but never quite got to the point of being a loud cry. It looked away from all of you avoiding any kind of eye contact. Whether that was because it didn't want to have anything to do with you or whether it felt so bad about its behavior that it was a afraid to look at you was unknown. What was known was that it was distraught for some reason. What will you do? Chantelle's Zone- Please respond in LemonChiffon Rakurai: Flandre seemed raring to go. Despite the small amount of paralysis she had, that wasn't going to stop her from winning this battle. The charmander punched her fists a few times like a boxer trying to shake off any tightness. Although the tightness in this case was a little different than normal muscle tightness. A small surge of electricity coursed through her body as you issued your commands. Flandre smiled and narrowed her eyes as she started her next onslaught against the Amaura. A chill fills the air as the Amaura opens its mouth and a blast of cold shoots forth. Flakes of Powdery Snow fall about around the blast as it impacts Flandre squarely. The Charmander weathers the attack fairly well given her affinity with the opposite element and quickly shakes off the frost on her body. In return Flandre launches a ball of fire infused with Raging Dragon energy into the blue dinosaur as a cry of pain escaped it. The Amaura soon turned its attention back to Flandre and Growled at the charmander. You can see Flandre take a small step back as she realizes that this dinosaur was not amused with that last attack. Still that doesn't stop Flandre from countering. With a wide ranged swing of her arms, a ball of Ancient rock energy Powered up in front of your partner. With a thrust of her arms, Flandre tossed the ball of energy toward the dinosaur who tried to dodge, but seemed a little too injured to evade the attack as it caught it sending it falling to the ground. It's head smacked hard against the surface as it looked back up to see Flandre now closing in to attack again. The Amaura once more shot forth a blast of Powder Snow and cold into Flandre who seemed slow down a bit as she took on the attack, but still managed to push through. He arm raised in the air and was about to strike as if she were about to Break a stack of Bricks when a surge of electricity shocked through her freezing her up for a moment. A moment was long enough for the Amaura to roll to its feet and leap back out of Flandre's reach as the paralysis temporarily wore off. Despite the Paralysis affecting Flandre and making things a little more difficult than you would like them to be, she seemed to be doing pretty well. Her breathing was a little heavy, but overall you've seen her a lot more worn down than she is now. The Amaura on the other hand was definitely hurting. Its legs were wobbly and it looked like it could collapse any minute from all of the super effective attacks Flandre had thrown its way. As it was, this battle might end faster than anyone could have imagined. What will you do? Wyatt's Zone- Please respond in Blue Schala: "Well they say that experience is the best way to learn anything. I hope you find all the knowledge you seek during your travels," Wyatt said with a smile. He seemed pretty content to just sit back and talk to you. The nice part about it was that he genuinely seemed interested in what you had to say, "I know that when I set off on my journey with the rest of the Kalosian trainers to travel the world and promote our region I had wanted to learn as much as I could about the rest of the world. So far everywhere I've been I've discovered all kinds of new things that I didn't know before. Just getting a chance to sit and talk with other trainers like we are doing now has given me more insight and understanding about different places than I could have ever expected." Just then the grass parted and your hopes were fulfilled when Airmid appeared. Although she to your surprise she didn't come alone. "Whoa! That's a Tyrunt!" Wyatt exclaimed as he shifted a bit from where he was sitting. You could tell that he was definitely more on guard than he had been the entire journey so far. "That's an ancient Fossil type pokemon. A predator and very dangerous. Although..." The Kalosian trainer trailed off as he looked a little more closely at the dinosaur, "Is that...? Is that a crown on its head?" The confusion in Wyatt's voice was clear. Airmid seemed plenty pleased as she approached you and the pumpkaboo sleeping at your side. Almost as if she didn't even have a care in the world that there was a dangerous pokemon standing right behind her. "Whatever you do, don't make any sudden movements or upset that Tyrunt. It seems like it is in a good and docile mood right now, but it is still a dangerous pokemon. Okay?" What will you do? |

Tears seemed to be streaming down her rosy cheeks down to her slender neck, and falling to the snow covered floor. Liza didn’t quite understand why the ice type seemed to be so distraught, but it didn’t matter. Just seeing the fossil type so sad made Liza’s heart ache a little inside. For all that trouble earlier... she thought, you’re just a big baby aren’t you? Standing up and walking toward the blue dino, Liza kneeled before her without saying a word and hugged her. She held her tightly, before saying, “I don’t understand why you’re so upset, if it’s because of the scolding I gave you earlier, I didn’t mean for it to offend you. Honestly I’m not very good at when somebody starts to cry...I don’t know what to say...I usually ramble on until someone stops me...usually. Just like I’m probably doing now.” She said, “It was out of line, for saying you’d just end up all alone...I can’t even begin to imagine what it was like for you to be turned into a fossil and come back to a world much different than you might of remembered- ugh...there I go again...rambling.” Now tears were streaming down the trainer's face, “But, you don’t have to be all alone anymore, if you don’t want to. You have no idea how many Pokemon I have at home, they are like my children to me, in a sense, my family. I sort of ran away from my home to find myself. Something my family probably wasn’t too happy about either. It was hard to find something I loved to, even harder to find a person to accept and root for me...I’d like to think I can do the same for you...come back with me.” Wiping a tear from her face, Liza reached inside her bag and retrieved the Safari Ball Chantelle had given her earlier. “I know this is a little forward but how about joining our little family, I promise you...you won’t regret it.” finally presenting it to the Amaura. |
