Using Muyo logic, I propose we implement Thunder Armor and Munchlax being able to use Eevee's tail as a springboard on the grounds we've had a bit of anime evidence for it.

Well, the second thing has been shown several times by various pokémon so I think you'd be stupid not to allow that to happen.

Thunder Armour, lol.

Why exactly is there a gaseous form in the first place?

Somebody from eight years ago thought it would be a good idea. It seems redundant to me, so happy to drop it if there are no objections.

It would simplify things although the quasi-Gaseous Plasma form works well for Rotom.

I might like to drop the "gaseous" form all together.
Eh, Gastly alone justifies it enough, I think.

... that was awesome Zora. But I don't actually think it justifies having a Gaseous form. You could probably use ethereal to the same effect.

Then you'd probably have to make to make some adjustments on how ethereal Pokémon work, unless you want Gastly to take x1.5 damage from special attacks *all* the time.

Removing the gaseous part of ghosts and rewriting the ethereal part produces only Gaslty in my mind as the worst affected and thus Gastly won't be used often in battle. This isn't a bad thing as people will have them in their squads and wait for them to evolve before using them in a battle. I am not opposed to removing gaseous from and making ghosts easier to deal with.

Thread necromancy, go!

Are the new rules (the ones Jeri wrote) in effect? I've been assuming so but I'm willing to be told I'm wrong.

If so, could we sticky this thread so it's easy to find? I've had to bookmark it so I can find it when I need it.

Rotom forms

The release of Platinum introduced new forms for Rotom when it is possessing certain objects.

Changing forms
A Rotom form can be changed freely through squad submissions: note that changing a Rotom form while having a sig move dependent on that form may require that the sig be changed/removed. Rotom cannot change forms during a Pokemon battle: even if an object that could be possessed is inexplicably around, it takes too long for the Rotom to bind with it to be practical in combat. Similarly, a Rotom will never willingly unbind with an item in combat, as doing so leaves it extremely vulnerable during the process.

Extra attack
A Rotom may use a new move as part of its form change. Each move can only be used while in the appropriate form, and changing the form causes Rotom to lose access to the attack.
-Frost form: Blizzard
-Spin form: Air Slash
-Wash form: Hydro Pump
-Cut form: Leaf Storm
-Heat form: Overheat

Ghost form rules
Unlike regular Rotom, a Rotom possessing an object is always solid. They may still go etheral for short periods of time, but maintaining an etheral state for longer than a brief period is extremely taxing on them, as they must make the object they possess etheral as well as themselves.
Rotom forms work like this. Consider them Ghost/Electric for now.

Go crazy.

Do they get the type-change when BW pokemon become available?

If so, Grass/electric pokemon with ghost familiarity ftw.

Yay, one of my favorite pokemon just got awesome. -er.

Are they to be considered familiar with their special moves? (Until B/W, obv.)

Given that the anime's already shown this:

Frost/Wash: essentially too heavy to float and have to get around by hopping.
Cut: too heavy to float but can speed along reasonably using its wheels.
Heat: Admittedly not shown but smaller than above forms so I reckon it could be assumed that it floats, though not as well as Spin/normal.
Spin: floats as well as the unformed... form.

For maneuverability sake, let's say they can all levitate at least enough to get around, but only Cut, Heat and Spin will have almost Normal Forme-esque movement.

I don't see anything particularly addressing this so I've got a quick question, it seems to me that all Ghosts can go Invisible but I don't see any proof for/against this in these rules. So, can all Ghosts go invisible?
