Dragonair Advanced Trainer Battle: Yuki.N vs. Hayward

Today was a day for randomness and that is how the young referee found herself atop a plateau 30 metres in the air awaiting the arrival of the two comptetitors. It was a mild day with the sun just poking out from behind thick fluffy white clouds. The Volcanic Mountain's desert stretched as far as the eye could see, and this flat expanse of rock was rumoured to have mystical properties, that time could shift in a blink of an eye. Sand blew across the ground as the two trainers climbed their way up to the plateau their dust covered clothes indicating how far they had travelled to arrive here. The ref gave them time to compose themselves, there were no outlines to the arena, no marked trainer boxes but if they were sensibl they wouldn't stray too far near the edge.

"I shouldn' have to stress the need to be careful up here," she said before going through the rules.
Yuki.N vs. Hayward
Advanced Trainer Battle (Pokemon from Lv’s 51-75 used only)
1 on 1 Metronome Battle
72 Hr DQ Period
Arena: Volcanic Mountain's Time Rift Mesa: A large, flat, rocky plateau jutting out of the desert sands. Standing 30 metres above the desert itself and 50m x 60m wide, it's covered with a light layer of sand and rubble. Any Pokémon falling off the side of the mesa could very well sustain serious, if not fatal, injuries.
She allowed them time to prepare themselves whist retrieving a coin from her pocket. She assigned Yuki.N to Heads and Hayward to Tails and gave it a quick flip: "Heads".
Once she was sure they understood the rules she went through the order of play:
– I need PM’s from both of you including your Pokemon, their stats, any healing items being declared, and your attacks for the first round (I am happy with up to 3 being used per round)
- I will then ref the first round.
- Yuki.N will then order their attacks for the next round.
- Hayward then orders their attacks.
- I ref the round, and the next round attack orders switch and so on and so forth till we have a winner!
“Good Luck and Have Fun!”

Ribbons:

“Hah- hachoo!”

Jess rubbed her nose and spat out the sand clogging her throat. Her respiratory tracts were extremely sensitive to dust, so she was slightly irritated by the desert terrain - in more ways than one. Exhaustion from the long, upward travel only served to exacerbate her asthma. Frowning, she stooped to brush off the red powder stains her jeans had accumulated during the climb, sneezing forcefully again through the cloud.

“Wynaut!” Her blue companion saluted his trainer as he smartly drew himself to attention. Jessica giggled as she sniffed, producing an unseemly snort. She politely refused his offering of a Pink Scarf and instead used her own kerchief to cover her mouth. (Had she brandished a sword on Rapidashback, she might have almost resembled a bandit.) Bracing herself, she boldly stepped forward onto the rocky Time Rift Mesa, with her little soldier marching behind.

At the same time, their opponents Will and Medeo approached from across the field. Jess smiled and waved at them, and her friend followed suit. Upon gazing uncertainly around and sighting no mark to stand behind, the girl compromised by tracing out her own box in the sand with the sole of her shoe. She then turned to her Wynaut, whose cool shades gleamed in the white-hot sun as he tilted his head back, fortunately shielding his eyes from the glare. His grin was brightest of all, and Jessica briefly lowered her mask to return the beam as well as give her first instructions.

“Okay, Bobble. This is our first battle in a long time, and it’ll be a bit different than usual. I want you start off with METRONOME, followed by METRONOME, and finally METRONOME. Your opponent will be using the same tactic throughout the match.”

The blue creature cocked his head in confusion, scratching it with an ear-arm. “Why?”

“Because it’ll be interesting to see what happens. Don’t you agree?”

Bobble switched from scratching to stroking his chin as he pondered this idea for a moment, then nodded vigorously. “Wai!”

“Good luck then, and have fun!”

As clouds drift lazily overhead, a boy in a black shirt and tan shorts ascends the dust-covered plateau, glancing across the pitch to where a slightly older girl with short hair has taken her place.

“Best of luck!” Will calls as he reaches into his courier bag, withdrawing a silver Pokéball from it. Tapping the trigger switch, the metallic sphere immediately triples in size in his hand and Will tosses it out onto the pitch, exclaiming, “Look sharp now, mate!”

The Steel Ball splits along its midline and a stream of brilliant light instantly gushes forth before molding itself into the form of a lithe mystic, then fading to reveal the elegant Medicham, Medéo. Medéo’s eyes momentarily tinge teal as sunlight gleams across the yellow dots on his forehead. The Yoga Pokémon adjusts the Northern Star Bangle on his tiny wrist and signals his readiness for the task at hand by zealously crying out, “Medii! Medii!”

Grinning at his partner’s enthusiastic attitude, Will bows respectfully to his opponent, then gives a deferential nod to the young woman officiating the match. At her signal, Will sends his Pokémon forward into battle.

Medicham: Medéo ♂ | Tameness: 10
Ability: Pure Power | Nature: Adamant
Residence: Steel Ball | Item: N. Star Bangle*
TM Move: Metronome | Details: More Info

*Northern Star Bangle (held item) Boosts amount of health gained through moves with healing effects by 10% when held.

“Alright, Medéo, start off with Metronome!” Will instructs. Medéo hesitates slightly at this unorthodox opening-round maneuver, but nods anyway as Will continues. “Then follow up with a Metronome-Metronome combo!”

Unsure that he's hearing correctly, Medéo spins around and regards Will with a quizzical expression on his face. In response, the boy grins and shrugs sheepishly, remarking, “Metronome Match. Completely random. It should be good for a few laughs. Have fun.” Medéo sweatdrops at his trainer’s explanation, and turning back toward his opponent, prepares to fight.
The arduous trek to reach the plateau that would serve as their battlefield ahd not been a easy or pleasant one for either competetior. The referee gave a nonchalant shrug, to leave the arena choice to chance they should be thankful they weren't freezing to death in Glacier Islands Icy Wastelands ... actually she was quiet thankful she was not there either. Both nodded their respects to the others, sometimes battling friends was easier than battling a stranger, you didn't feel as down after a loss and both trainers looked quite keen to get started. The referee folded out her trusty lawn chair ready to take the weight off her feet as the trainers made their own boxes with which to stand. Flags at the ready she watched as both trainers released their Pokemon. From Jess' side came a small blue creature with long ears wearing cool looking shades that would prove useful out here where their was no shade from the sun. Bobble appeared happy to be out and ready for battle. Will releases his own Pokemon, a strong stoic looking Medicham who adjusts his gorgeous jewellry and gives a ready battle cry. Both Pokemon observe the other and when she knew they were ready the referee lowered the flags with a flourish.

Both Pokemon received their orders and turned to face their trainers with confusion on their faces. They wanted them to do what? The referee was rather amused by this reaction as she sat down. Both trainers has to explain the situation and though both Pokemon regarded them with looks of bewilderment they turned back to face the field and were ready to start. Both Bobble and Medeo begin their first Metronome, Bobble waggling his ears back and forth whilst Medeo waves his fingers. Bobble begins to close the distance his ear charged with Fighting Energy as he prepares to Hammer Medeo with his Ear-Arm. Medeo could not have possible sensed what was coming but he braced himself and just before Bobble could hit he grabbed onto him Reversing the momentum and sending the much smaller Pokemon flying back towards his trainer. Bobble his he ground with the thud and looks up at Jess stunned, that was some bad luck they had there.

Medeo grinned and powered up his next Metronome and feels the attack ready. He frowns a little unsure of how he was going to execute this attack but charged towards the little Wynaut anyway his mouth wide open sparking with electricity. Bobble has just enough time to get up as Medeo knees down before biting down on his ear with a Thunder Fang. Bobble winces as the electricity courses through his sensative ear but Medicham teeth aren't very sharp so the bite itself didn't cause much pain. Bobble waggles his free ear wanting to retaliate and shoots forth a load of little bug projectiles that strike Medeo right in the face making him drop the Wynaut. The Attack Order was enough to leave Medeo stinging and holding his face. Bobble quickly acts again before Medeo can recover and using Metronome somehow summons the same attack and another Attack Order is sent Medeo's way the bug bombs making him dive out of the way not all of them hitting. Medeo narrows his eyes at the little Psychic type and unleashes his last attack which proves to be a beautiful rainbow coloured beam that widens as it approaches Bobble. He cries out as the Aurora Beam hits making him shiver from the icy coldness of it.

Jessica winced as their opponent managed to turn their first attack against them. They were off to an unlucky start, but hardly set back yet.

“Great start, Medéo!” Will praises his mystical companion, who looks incredibly relieved it didn’t use Selfdestruct. “Let’s keep the pressure on now! Counterattack with Metronome! Then go with two more Metronomes!”

Round 2

This battle of randomness could have easily been mistaken for well strategised match thus far with the impressive counter Medeo luckily pulled out last round. Metronome was a tricky attack as there were so many unusual and unhelful moves that could be summoned, both trainers and Pokemon were relying solely on luck. Both Pokemon were nearly even with Bobble taking that little more pain from the impressive throw Medeo demonstrated but he was the first to act again.

He charges towards the fighter prepapring another fighting attack of his own. He seems to tumble forward but despire the unnatural move twists his body into a cute litte Rolling Kick that makes Medeo take a few steps back. That unfortunately for Bobble had not done much damage and left him feeling dizzy. Medeo takes this opportunity to retaliate and his Metronome produces a Wake-Up Slap striking the little Wynaut across his face bringing tears to his eyes. He sniffs away the tears and glares at Medeo as he summons his second Metronome hoping to hurt him for that nasty slap. He suddenly begns to yell at Medeo in a booming voice sounding much like Will. Medeo looks baffled but yells in pain as the loud soundwaves assault his ears for some super effective damage. Bobble halts his booming attack and blinks before smiling back at his trainer, that was unsual but fun!

Medeo still holding one hand to his ears narrows his eyes at his little opponant for his luck and tries for some of his own. He feels grass energy surround him before a large barrage of Egg Bombs shoot off rom his boddy heading towards Bobble. The little Wynaut squeaks in alarm trying to evade the bombs but takes a few explosions causing him awful pain and knocking him to the ground. He sits back up looking pained but manages a final attack, unfortunatly for him it was a Water Sport but there was no fire to put out. Medeo dances towards Bobble and in a mirror of the Wynaut's first move delivers a much better Rolling Kick knocking Bobble back over to Jess looking bruised.

“Good work, mate! Let's see if we can keep it up and maybe catch him off guard with Metronome!" Will encourages his partner. Medeo nods and adopts a combat stance as the boy continues issuing instructions. “Then look for a weak spot and go with another Metronome! Follow up by using Metronome again!”

OoC - Out of curiosty, what was the second move Bobble used?
Arc Edit: Chatter

"Hang in there, Bobble!" Jess called supportively while internally cursing their luck today. "Hurry, get back up and use METRONOME. Then, try your hand at another METRONOME, followed by METRONOME!"

Round 3

Depsite the Metronomes used both Pokemon were getting quiet physical with one another with lots of fighting style techniques employed. This served the natural fighter Medicham well whilst the Psychic Wynaut was struggling through. He had suffered the most so far but with this tye of match it was still anybodies game. The attacks were ordered again and the Metronome madness started up once more.

Medeo begins his Metronome and then feels the energy drain, spheres of bug energy appear before him and he absorbs them healing himself entirely but at a great cost. Bobble looks desparingly onwards, Medeo looks like he had just started the match, there wasn't a scratch on him. But a small smile appeared on his face as he saw Medeo panting from the Heal Order that was not a natural healing move for him. Bobbles executes his own Metronome and this time charges up electrical energy and fires the swift like attack, Medeo unable to avoid the Shock Wave. Medeo pushing past his currently tiredness performs another Metronome and begins to spin around sending several Toxic Spikes across the plateau, this could prove to be bad for both Pokemon.

Bobble edges closer to Medeo trying his best not to step on the spikes and scoops up some dust and grit and using a makeshift Mud Slap throws it in his face making the Medicham groan and rub his eyes. With his vision reduced Medeo can only prey his Metronome summons an attack this is a sure hit. He feels another drain on his body as more projectiles are summoned around him. His dragon energy is all but depleted as he screams and launches the Draco Meteor forwards. Bobble screams in horror and is struck by a couple of the bombs throwing him onto the ground amazingly missing a spike by inches. Jess screams in fear and dives to the ground as the remaining meteors fly over her head to explode on the ground below shaking the plateau worrying all standing on it. Bobble is slow to his feet suffering from the pain but hobbles towards Medeo before slamming his ear into his gut in a Rock Smash pushing him back where he unfortunately steps on a spike making him yelp, oh dear the poison has begun to seep into the wound, that is not good.

Wiping the sweat of heat and terror off her forehead, Jess cautiously stood up to survey the results. That had been a scary, intense round. Although Bobble had taken another beating, Jess was pleased to note their enemy appeared exhausted as well as afflicted with several status effects. Still shaking slightly, Jessica called out her next attacks:

"Okay, Bobble. Surprise him with a METRONOME! Then use two more METRONOMEs!"

On the Volcanic Mountain’s Time Rift Mesa, Will lets out a low whistle as he surveys the dust-covered pitch, freshly scarred by the effects of an unexpected dragon meteor shower. His partner expended a lot of energy executing its last few techniques and is now visibly winded, not to mention blinded and poisoned. Dragging a hand through his short brown hair, the boy thinks hard to come up with a strategy. But since the only attack he can order is Metronome, he quickly makes up his mind and hollers out, “Stay strong, mate! Try to wipe that mud out of your eyes, then match Bobble’s Metronomes with three of your own!”

Round 4

Both Pokemon were beginning to wear down with Bobble sporting more injuries than Medeo but the Medicham having used a lot of his energy up, especialling in the last round. And now with the battle field a poisonous minefield both Pokemon had to be especially careful, something practically impossible with type of match

Bobble totters around the spikes and using the last of his fighting energies delivers a hard Brick Break to Medeo's knee making him yelp and hold his leg. Bobble doesn't have the time to make a clean getaway as Medeo uses his Metronome and pulls yet more fighting techinques landing a Karate Chop down Bobble's spine despite his blurred vision sending the Wynaut to the ground in pain. He had unfortunately landed on a Toxic Spike in his fall and was now suffering the same poising as Medeo.

Whilst down on the ground Bobble tries to push past his pain and uses his second Metronome and suddenly feels his skin harden to a metal like texture, infact his Iron Defense had made his body much harder, this could prove to be useful despite the speed loss he's now go from being heavier. Medeo follows suit with his next Metronome but he looks like he's struggling with whatever move he summoned. He tries to draw on water he needs for the Brine but in this arid environment he had no chance. Bobble has time to get up as Medeo sighs ending his attack in failure and uses his final attack, coating his ear in steel before sending a harsh Bullet Punch towards Medeo striking his knee again sending him hobbling back and catching another spike increasing the poison in his system. He rubs the last remains of grit from his eyes and clenches his fist, the luck had turned and it was really frustrating. He gives a mental prayer before summoning his last attack and his fingers grow large nails before laying a long Cut along Bobbles abdomen making him double over in pain leaving a little line of red in his wake, his hardened skins stopping it from drawing blood. Both Pokemon groan from the poison eating at their health

"... ... ..."

On the windswept plateau known as Time Rift Mesa, Will narrows his grey-green eyes into slits and scans the pock-marked, poison-barbed battlefield. His gaze falls upon his loyal comrade, wincing in pain from the toxins coursing through its bloodstream, and he feels regret because he can’t do anything about it. Knowing that things could turn ugly quickly, the boy hopes for the best as he prepares to order his next set of attacks, another trio of Metronomes.

The unpredictable nature of the Normal-type technique has allowed both Pokémon combatants to showcase their natural battling prowess, and Will marvels at their innate ability to adapt and respond to an attack with no more than a moment’s warning. The boy sincerely hopes the lessons he and his partner learn during this match will serve them well in the future. Putting on a determined look, Will calls out his instructions. "Alright Medéo, keep it up now! Continue to weaken him with three more Metronomes!!"

Jessica sucked in her breath as she watched her friend take a merciless swipe to the stomach, only his opportunely toughened skin keeping what she pictured as gallons of blood in check. Still, a nasty streak of red crossed his heart as a reminder. Biting her lip, she called out to her strong and loyal trooper, urging him to endure.

"Hang in there, Bobble! You can do this! Strike back with three more METRONOMEs!"

Round 5

Both Pokemon were poisoned, Medeo was becoming more and more drained from his techniques and Bobble was looking battered; these Metronome battles were not to be taken lightly. Both trainers still had faith in their Pokemon and both Pokemon did not want to disappoint their trainers. So to their feet they rose and even though they did not know what was to come they continued on in hope they would win despite that.

Medeo moves first despite his lack of energy and uses his Metronome. His fist grows long Wolverine like claws and he charges towards Bobble being careful of the spikes and land his Metal Claw across his already cut abdomen making his squeak in pain. Bobble was still tougher from his Iron Defense but that hurt! Bobble stills his emotions and using his own Metronome Calms his Mind feeling his special attack rising. Medeo having the opportunity to attack with Medeo meditating does so using his second Metronome. He seems to be contemplating his attack before shrugging, taking off his Northern Star Bangle and Flinging it at Bobble who yelps as it catches him right between the eyes causing a bruise to form. The bangle is lightweight and so does not cause too much damage but Bobble is not amused. He retaliates suddenly disappearing from view making Medeo blink in confusion looking around for the elusive Wynaut. Bobble Teleports behind Medeo grinning at his luck in that move and proceeds to attack before Medeo can realise whats happened. His last Metronome draws a Thief attack darting into Medeo from behind knocking him off balance and to his very bad luck onto another spike! He growls in pain and pulls the offending barb from his foot sighing at the thought of more poison in his blood (at least he could be poisoned any more than this next time) before attacking right back. His Metronome produces a Mirror Coat and the Medicham ends the round ready to bounce back any attacks Bobble is prepared to throw at him!

Jessica winced as her opponent once again raked his nails across Bobble's injured chest. However, she then smiled upon watching Bobble pull off a lucky sneak attack, resulting in more venom racking the opponent's system. They might have a chance of winning if their fortune held out like this. Unfortunately, while Bobble had chanced upon a special attack bonus, the reflective stronghold their opponent had erected last would only cause a confrontation of this kind to backfire. Crossing her fingers, she tentatively called out her next orders to her teammate.

"Use METRONOME again. But please try to be careful," she added, even though she knew the warning was probably useless. "Then, attack with two more METRONOMEs!"

"Now’s our chance, Medéo! Try to take advantage of Mirror Coat and reflect their attack! Then retaliate with a pair of Metronomes!" Will exclaims, encouraging his Pokémon to keep up the fight. The boy knows now is the time to hold strong, but is also unsure how long his partner will be able to endure the poison coursing through its veins and just hopes they can seize the opportunity provided by Mirror Coat.

"How’re you doing mate?! D’you think you can make it?!" Will inquires of his companion. In response, Medéo throws the boy a devil-may-care grin and adopts a combat pose. Gritting his teeth in determination, Will hollers out his instructions, "Alright then, follow up with another Metronome, and if you can, try to dodge one of Bobble’s attacks!!"

Round 6

Both Pokemon were running low on energy now but this fight was far from over. Medeo seemed ready to take himself out to take his opponant out and the spunky Wyanut was not ready to give in just yet. Medeo stood waiting for Bobble to throw his attack his way and Jess and her Wynaut looked a little nervous about what their Metronome would produce. All they can do is cross their fingers and pray for a more physical attack or it could mean disaster for the psychic!

Bobble fires up his Metronome and beings to use his Mega Drain the energy from Medeo but it doesn't appear to be working. The Mirror Coat doesn't appear to be able to reflect this type of attack as it is a direct draining move but it has cancelled it out. Wynaut almost releases a sigh of relief, he hadn't taken any redirected damage but he hadn't given any either! Medeo panting a little for holding the Mirror Coat so long lets it go feeling a drain despite the lack of redirect but moves onto his attack. He breathes in deep and lets loose a small Blizzard across the plateau quicly draining his ice resources. Bobble squeals as the shards of ice and snow batter his body but he doesn't freeze over fortunately. Suffering from the cold he is slow to move so Medeo not wanting to miss an advantage moves first summoning his second Metronome but appeared to be seriously struggling again! He sighs and has to abbandon his Aqua Tail as he simply had no tail to charge up water energy into! Bobble has recovered enough to attack now and waggles his ears using his second Metronome. He produces a Mirror Move and since the Aqua Tail was performed he unleashes a Blizzard in a Mirror of the last Move that hit him and Medeo gets a taste of his own Medicine. The Medicham shivers almost regretting producing the attack but doesn't ice over and Bobble is out of Ice energy too!

Bobble now has the edge on speed and unleashes his last attack hobbling over to Medeo before flailing across his body smacking him up and down with his Endeavor using up large amounts of energy but hitting very hard considering his poor situation. Medeo is knocked off his legs and pulls the spikes that embed in his body out and slowly gets back to his feet glaring at Bobble. His last metronome is performed and he slams his fist into the ground setting loose a small Earthquake that sends shockwaves through the rock shattering pieces of it and knocking Bobble over onto a bunch of spikes poisoning him further. It was more worrying for the trainers who were nearly knocked towards the edge of the plateau and the ref was knocked off her chair but signalled to something off the plateau. Several roars filled the air and the ground steadied. She gave a sigh of relief and checked over the trainers before frowning at Medeo, she was lucky the locak Onix agreed to help hold up the plateau before it could crumble and they all fall to their death!

Medeo looked like he had very little left in the tank but Bobble was right behind him looking more injured but that last blow had hit Medeo hard too and he was sporting some bruises.

“!”

On the Time Rift Mesa, Will lets out a grateful sigh and enthusiastically compliments Medéo, impressed that such a small Pokémon is able to create such a powerful Earthquake, yet relieved that they hadn’t all been tossed off the edge. “Whew…well done, mate! That was brilliant!”

Will wipes the sweat from his forehead, then wagging a finger, hollers out instructions to his visibly-winded Medicham companion. “Hang in there, Medeo!” the boy encourages. Visions of Medéo fainting from exhaustion in their last trainer battle flash through Will’s mind and he sincerely hopes to avoid a repeat outcome. “Just a little bit more now! Go with three Metronomes, but try to conserve as much energy as possible!”

Jessica gasped as she found herself nearly knocked off her feet and the edge of the plateau. Even the ref tumbled out of her lawn chair in surprise. Fortunately she managed to sign to something down below, and though Jess's heart jumped again at a chorus of monstrous roars close by, she breathed a sigh as the land steadied beneath her. The girl thought of peering down the cliff to thank the unknown benefactor who saved her from a pointy death, but then thought to preserve her clearheadedness for the battle. (Which all of a sudden reminded her: How was she to get down from here?)

She quickly turned her attention to Bobble to check if he was okay, and although his presence was reassuring, she was dismayed to find him once again levering off a poison-tipped spike. Of all the cards their enemy could possibly draw against them, EARTHQUAKE was the worst in this environment. Tsk'ing at their bad luck, she grimly surveyed her opponent's condition. Though exhausted, his health appeared in better conditon than Bobble's. Bobble seemed to possess a bit more fight in him, but the lead was minor compared to number of cuts and bruises speckling his body. Praying that her littler warrior would last long enough to run their foe out of energy, she called out her orders:

"You can do this, Bobble! Just hang in there and hit him with three more METRONOMEs!"

Round 7

This was it, we were down to what could the be last round of this battle! Both Pokemon were on the point of total exhaustion and it was still anybodies victory. It all depended on the luck that had infused this fight, a roll of the dice, a random metronome and all the trainer's could do was hope and cross their fingers.

Medeo bites back a groan of exhaustion and waggles his fingers for the first of the last of his Metronomes but he growls in complete frustration as he draws a Whirlpool and with no body of water around the attack is a major failure. Bobble sees his opportunity, time to captalise on this! He uses his Metronome and nearly cries as he gets a Jump Kick but he has no fighting energy left to execute it! Both Pokemon stare at each feeling their pain, it was frustrating and damn right embarrassing to not be doing anything.

Medeo pushes past these emotions and grits his teeth as he tries again this time giving a little smile as he gets an attack he can use. He feels his energies drain to near non-existance and charges at Bobble unleashing his Endeavor on his slamming fists and feet into his little body leaving him a battered mess only just hanging on. He gets back to his feet swaying back and forth managing to just about move his ear-arms for an attack of his own. Hs eyes widen as he realises what he's about to do and he uses a tremendous amount of energy glowing a bright violet making Medeo shade his eyes before vanishing from sight. Medeo wonders if its another Teleport and looks behin him not seeing the little Wynaut appearing, he appears concerned, as he should be. Unbeknownst to him Bobble had shifted to the parrallel universe and could see his movement exactly and he reappears behind the Medicham and whith a great battle cry slams into him with his Shadow Force. Medeo screams from the super effective damage and is thrown all the way across the plateau to slam right before his trainers feet.

Bobble looks pleased with himself but as he turns to face Jess his eyes roll to the back of his head and he collapses to the ground KO'd from exhaustion! The referree checks on Medeo to see him panting hard and looking extremely pained but conscious.

"Bobble is unable to battle from exhaustion, Medeo wins the battle!" she exclaims pointing the green flag in his direction.

Congratulations to Hayward and Medeo for their victory. This battle was sooo close it was unbelievable. Had Bobble not drawn Shadow Force Medeo would have been KO'd from exhaustion from his third attack! It shows you how a random match like this can turn with each round.

For your victory Medeo receives 2 Levels and you both receive this Advanced Trainer Battle Trophy. 3 of these and you may take the Level 3 Gym Challenge

Commisserations to Yuki.N who drew an unlucky attack right at the end

On the Time Rift Mesa, Bobble wags his ears and quickly vanishes from sight. Medéo glances warily around the plateau, wondering where and when the Bright Pokémon will reappear. Nearby, Will grits his teeth and waits to see what's going to happen next. A moment later, Bobble fades into view behind Medéo, and Will gasps in astonishment to see that the little Wynaut is now surrounded by a ghostly aura. Crying out his species' name, Bobble releases the Shadowy energy, which slams into Medéo with all the Force of a Lairon using Extremespeed, and sends the Yoga Pokémon flying across the pitch, where it lands roughly at Will's feet.

Smiling at the success of its supereffective strike, Bobble looks to its trainer for approval, but then suddenly crumples to the dusty ground, exhausted from expending so much energy. Will turns to Medéo; holding his breath, the boy watches anxiously as his Medicham companion slowly struggles to its feet, clutching its abdomen and wincing in pain. Judging that Medéo has just enough energy left, the Ref signals that Will's side has won and declares the match over.

At the Ref's decision, Will trots over to his barely-concious comrade and supports it by putting an arm around its thin frame. Grinning, the boy congratulates Medéo on their win, and sincerely thanks it for fighting hard and giving its best. He then states that it was an unforgettable match and they should feel grateful that Fortune looked upon them favorably today. Medéo nods knowingly in agreement and closes its eyes contentedly.

Will recalls Medéo, assuring the Yoga Pokémon that its earned a nice long rest, and thanks the Ref for officiating while placing Medeo's Steel Ball inside his messenger bag. He then walks over to Jessica and extends a hand to shake. Complimenting the young woman and her Pokémon, Will tells them they did great, and remarks that he's really impressed with Bobble's tenacity. After a brief chat, Will wishes them the best of luck on their journey and descends the plateau, pondering over his next destination...
