Please, please pleeeaaasee bring back the Hoenn battle frontier back. If not possible then at least the battle factory and pyramid will do. Pokemon following you would be nice Make repel a key item like exp share Maybe incorperate the Sevii Islands somehow. EDIT: And Mega Sceptile, Mega-Swampert is acceptable if it realises the former |

What abilities do you think Mega Swampert and Mega Sceptile will have? And don't say Sap Sipper unless you really think Game Freak is going to do it.
Do you think Mega Sceptile will be retyped? If so, do you think he'll be retyped to Grass/Dragon? If so, how do you feel about that given the fans' ignored requests for a retyped Serperior? In HGSS, Game Freak borrowed the subplot about Eusine and Suicune from Pokémon Crystal. Pokémon Emerald was much more ambitious than Crystal was in terms of how much it rewrote the story. This could make it difficult for Game Freak to try and incorporate Emerald-only plot elements into a RuSa plot. So the question is: do you think the remakes will be remakes of the RuSa story (where your game has Magma/Aqua as bad guys, Aqua/Magma as allies, and Groudon/Kyogre is the big threat to the world)? or do you think the remakes will be remakes of the Emerald story (where your game has both Magma and Aqua as bad guys, neither as allies, and it's Groudon and Kyogre butting heads with one another that throws the world into turmoil)? To what extent do you think the games' plot will be affected by what looks to be the introduction of mega forms for Groudon and Kyogre? Do you think the games will actually be RSE remakes like most people are speculating? Or do you think the games might be revisits to the Hoenn region that take place at a different time and feature a different protagonist? Do you think Regigigas will be available in these games? Do you believe that if he were in these games that it would violate Regi canon? Do you think the space center will actually do something now? :o

2) Its possible. Ampharos and Charizard were, so sure, I guess. 3) Im hoping for a plot more along the lines of Emerald, with the RS elements (the cover team being the one that "sides" with you the best). Either way, as long as the story fits, idc what it is. 4) Itll definitely play a huge part in the plot. So will Mega Rayquaza. 5) Id say sequels. 6) I dont think so, mainly because the whole legend around him had to do with Snowpoint Temple. 7) IIRC, the Space Center was linked to an event that had to do with Deoxys, so Id go with something along those lines. |

I think it's reasonable to assume that Sceptile could be Grass/Dragon. Ability... Perhaps Chlorophyll or Solar Power?
For Swampert, I'm thinking a new ability. Probably not, but it seems like an ample opportunity to release one. Perhaps Dry Skin otherwise. |

Mega Swampert must be Ground/Water with something like Solid Rock or Dry Skin or Damp or whatever. Mega Sceptile... Chlorophyll or Quick Feet or whatever. |

Hoenn suffered from a terrible piece of game design that can only be rectified by a BW2 style map change; half the map is water. Beyond a certain point in the game (I think it's around badge five or six), you have maybe a dozen fights up to the E4 in which you can safely use pokemon that are weak to water - and they're pretty much all in that one psychic gym. This is much worse in Sapphire obviously with Aqua than it is in Ruby. I don't see how they can fix that without entirely abandoning RSE's plot, and as such I don't have high hopes for this not suffering from the same "lol a third of all available pokemon are unusable for the last third of the game" problem the original suffered from.
I think I was permanently put off Hoenn because my original squad was two thirds weak to water, so after badge five or six I had the nasty shock of suddenly only being able to ever use two of my pokemon up until the end of the game. Bah humbug etc.

so the shittiest gen gets a chance to redeem itself?
Excellent. Talon's ideas also sound good, especially the leveling issue but please, let contests die, they sucked so much, especially if it forces the return to the shitty evolution of Milotic. Though a cool thing would be to pick which side of Magma/Aqua you could help. |

I loathe long water routes, but thematically / stylistically / aesthetically / WHATEVER WORD GOES HERE I enjoyed Hoenn's expansive sea route system in the eastern half. It was something we'd never seen done before on such a grand scale and it is definitely memorable. The only thing I regret about such an expansive sea route is the fact that you have very limited visibility and can explore in all eight directions. As a result, it's a bit of a pain in the ass for a completionist to try and explore every last square inch of that mega-route to make sure one's missed nothing. If they fixed this either by narrowing the route with more strips of impassable boulders or by allowing us to press a button and "zoom out" and see a lot more than we can normally see when we're on a route, I think it'd go a long way towards making the route more fun to explore.
Something new they could try would be allowing the player to optionally sail by private boat (rather than by Pokémon). The idea could be that while a boat can't dive, ascend waterfalls, etc, it can at least be used to explore. When you reach land or a dark patch of water, you drop your anchor and disembark (by means of a Surfing Pokémon). Disembarked, you are now subject to wild aquatic Pokémon encounters but you can also go up waterfalls, dive under the sea, etc. Your boat stays put where you've left it, so -- for example -- when you enter Sootopolis from the undersea route, you'll do so without your boat and your boat will be left behind wherever you last left it. (Or maybe they could code it to automatically teleport back to Lilycove if they can tell that you've entered a new area that wasn't reachable by boat. *shrug* Whatever, not a big deal.) One thing that I like about this private boat idea of mine is that they could easily turn it into a fun quest with Mr. Briney and/or the boat builders in Slateport City. The idea could be that, as the boat is optional to begin with, there are boat components scattered across western Hoenn. Many of the components would probably be hidden in places that you can't access at first -- you'll have to get the HMs for Cut, Rock Climb, Surf, et cetera before you're able to reach them. But as you collect boat pieces, you take them back to Mr. Briney / Slateport Harbor and bit by bit you assemble your very own private boat. You'd be free to name it, possibly even decorate it ŕ la secret bases. Because the boat is optional, there's no penalty to players for not assembling the boat. But it's a fun little side quest with a fun little reward for those who do do it. *sigh* ... stuff that will probably not happen but a guy can dream, can't he?

Oh I like the idea of a boat. They could also add that "zoom button" to said boat. As in, when you're in the boat you have larger line of sight. But yeah probably never going to happen.

Oh man, how could i have forgotten to mention this? I even said it just the other day in Kuno's stream! One thing I really hope that Game Freak will do is program many more puzzle stages for the Trick House. I know it sounds silly, but the Trick House was one of my favorite portions of Pokémon Ruby. As soon I'd complete a stage, I was eager to start up the next. I was sad when I ran out of stages after only -- Bulbapedia refreshes my memory -- eight puzzles. Here's hoping that a revamped Trick House will have at least thirty to fifty puzzles. Even more than that would be even greater.

Want: Swimming.
Seriously, if you didn't choose Mudkip in Hoenn yiu were in trouble because most Waters and surfers were IN SURF WATERS. Also you only had the Old Rod for a long time. Though this may explain "lolsurfingaggron". Also: keep custom characters, but more clothing options please? I bought all the boys clothes in Y within two months. Most of which was trying to get into Lumiose Boutique and Chateau grinding for all that cash. Thats terrible, considering people literally choose to be a girl for more clothes. And us guys also got majorly dicked on hairstyles. I mean, we got a PERM when we BEAT THE GAME, and it was hard to see the difference between lengths. And more contacts please? And make them less obscure? I stumbled on Looker before finding the contacts. /endrantfornow
