You know what? These claws are actually for drawing power out of the instead of crushing skulls. With that in mind, let's start this event off with some Earth Power (90 BP; Affected by Sheer Force)!

The reading from the Electric path was the one decided upon, so the group ventured down that path. He, his bash brother duo, and his teammates, Silic and Melissa, emerged in the cavern where the boss was waiting. The Dynamax cloud parted, revealing the true face of their first trial, ready to engage.
Of all things, it was a Shadow Pichu. Even overtaken by this ominous, shadowy energy, and larger than a house, it was adorable. Not likely to be a major threat, but anything could happen. Still, it seemed likely that the rough strategy the trio had formulated beforehand would work just fine here. He didn't know anything about Shadow Pokemon, but he knew his types, and Electric moves could prove an issue if they didn't address that issue head on. Behind him, Landstar's tough, stoic façade cracked slightly. His brother, Gilford, had fought against these gigantic Dynamax Pokemon more than once, and he puffed with pride at the experience and his success against them, but this was the Dewott's first exposure to them. Gilford had been a little shaken his first time, as well, and he had been in a live fight with them, where he could focus on the battle, instead of just being an outside spectator. Sensing this slight waning of his eternal rival's confidence, the Pignite clapped him on the back to snap him out of his daze. PJ smiled. For all their brawling, they always showed they cared about one another. It probably wouldn't be long before they were back in fisticuffs, keeping one eye on the action with the Shadow boss and the other on each other. PJ held the marked rental Pokeball close to his face. There would be two Krabby here, and neither would be used to the trainer commanding him, so maybe a nickname would be helpful. One popped into his head quite quickly, thankfully, something in his brain just made him think of pecan cookies when he thought of her. "I'm going to call you Sandie for this adventure, okay?" He had no idea of the level of training this Krabby had received before, if any at all, but hopefully, it was enough she could follow orders easily and adapt to the situation with PJ. Only one way to really find out, though. PJ tossed the rental Ball out, sending Sandie out onto the field. He'd committed most of the move data he'd scanned with his PokeDex to memory, so he knew the perfect way to start this raid out. "Okay, Sandie, let's start things off with a Mud Sport!" That should help counter any Electric moves coming towards them, he thought, and then they could hopefully pressure it hard quickly enough to overcome the disadvantage they held. He was still concerned about those odd moves he'd heard about, though, the so-called "Shadow" moves. He knew some of the Pokemon at the reserve had them, but he had very intentionally stayed away from anything to do with them. Uncle Darik was right, this was definitely sure to be a learning experience for his young nephew. OoC: Mud Sport (-- BP) |

With splashes of mud providing an insulating coating around the trio's Pokemon, they were more free to go all out on the offense. Silic and Melissa had already capitalised on that opportunity, already having dealt a nice chunk of damage to the towering Pichu.
The Pichu seemed surprised at the assault as well, letting out a very sharp cry. It didn't seem too strong, despite hitting all three of the Pokemon engaged with it, but it sure was loud. Landstar and Gilford both felt the need to cover their ears at the ringing sound. It passed quickly, and the two brothers relaxed. The Pignite in particular seemed oddly attentive to the battle, while Landstar returned to his normal calm demeanor rather quickly. He always had to be the cool, detached one. The next part was what interested PJ the most, though. The dark aura around the Pichu got thicker, denser, and it rushed at Silic's rented Krabby. While it did seem to hurt the little crab, it didn't seem to be any different from being hit by any other move that hit a weakness. PJ had been worried that these Shadow moves might be particularly painful, for the target or even the user, but that seemed to not be the case. He let out a breath he hadn't realised he'd been holding. Still, he'd have to keep an eye out about it. These moves could be a great addition to a Pokemon's toolbox, but he had to make sure they wouldn't cause any suffering to anyone. "All right, Sandie!" PJ shouted out "It looks like we've done all the prep we can. I think it's time to shoot off a Sheer Force boosted Focus Blast!" OoC: Focus Blast (120 BP, Sheer Force) |

Med's Krabby Dynamaxes and unleashes a Max Quake, dealing hefty damage and raising the raiders' Special Defense, before a couple other nasty blows slam into the boss. All of this damage raises the Pichu's emotions to a fever pitch, and the large small yellow mouse retaliates with a Max Lightning, dealing insane damage even through the Mud Sport. The other Krabby on their side was recalled, to be sent out Dynamaxed. However, it only got off a single hit before a duo of electric moves downed her. That was pretty intense, PJ thought, seeing the giant Krabby being recalled.
The Pichu was also acting pretty erratically, the shroud of shadows getting more intense. It still didn't seem hurt, but perhaps a bit crazed. "Pi, nite!" Gilford let out in awe. While Landstar seemed rather indifferent, Gilford seemed to be fixated on the Shadow Pokemon. Even the Dewott's playful attempts to prompt a spar were going unnoticed. He was too into the battle beforehand. Still, the Pichu seemed to have sustained a lot of damage thus far, and it definitely would not be able to last in this fight much longer. The path was clear for what needed done. "Sandie, it looks weak. Let's avenge the other Krabby and pile on another Focus Blast with your Sheer Force." OoC: Focus Blast (120 BP, Sheer Force) |

Dynamax Boss Shadow Pichu ★★★ Health Gauge: 0% Shields Up: 0 Status: KO Trainer Status: N/A Arena: Mud Sport Terrain: Electric (4 Rounds) KO Count: 1 After a brief cheer, two more high powered attacks are lobbied at the boss. With Pichu's health already low, and its emotions in a fever pitch, this is more than enough to take it down, an explosion of Dynamax energy erupting before the Shadow mouse reverts to original size.
