...I'd argue that the arms are bending in all sorts of places in most of the pictures and probably are snake like. But Pokemon biology isn't really my point, my point is you reffed a fractured jaw and a broken arm in Round 2 which is just silly, and if you can't see why this might be a little silly and genuinely think that there's nothing even a bit shady about that then I'm worried.

It's kinda our fault for having no guide to realistic reffing and no questions on it in the ref test, but sometimes we do ask for a little bit of common sense to be applied.

Examples of realistic:

Three Scyther slashes to the same spot of an Infernape will disable that leg. 1/2 a PC stay.[Round up; this will cause a PC stay on its own, but if the same happens to the other leg, one PC stay in total.]

Two Hitmonchan Mega Punches to the jaw will break or dislocate it. 1 PC Stay

Explosion in very close range will cause 1 1/2 PC stay, 1 PC stay to the Exploder.

Explosion in very close range in water will cause 2 1/2 PC stay, 1 PC stay to Exploder. [Because I plan to use this strategy].

Those are some guidelines. inb4wrong

In other pictures the arms aren't really bending enough to interpret how they move. I mean, its not like its got Mr. Tickle arms.

The fractured jaw and broken arm, taking into account Kangaskhan's sheer weight and the difference in their arm bulkiness, and the fact that swinging a Kangaskhan's arm onto an upside down pokemon's jaw, factoring in Kangaskhan's weight, arm mass, and the fact that there is a steel roof beneath it pushing upwards, I'd say its fairly accurate.

I'm not trying to argue or anything, seeing as you're the A- referee, but thats how I interpreted it.

Meh, it's not particularly your fault other than the fact that you clearly haven't read any realistic matches. There's absolutely nothing written about how to ref Realistic, and the name is misleading. It's not realistic at all.

But George, you have massively overblown the match so far. In "Realistic" terms, the thing that would do the most long term damage so far was the bloody Zap Cannon. Snapping a Fighting Pokemon's arms is not something easily done- Yes, Kangaskhan is heavy but it's not got gigantic arms.

Eh, I'll be more lenient for the rest of the match I guess.

Depends what you're in to. Anything by Jasper Fforde is good. David Wolstencroft has written a couple of good spy novels (Good News Bad News and Contact Zero) - he was a writer for Spooks (lead writer I think) for a while if you've seen that. Kinda into spy novels at the moment so I'll go ahead and recommend Robert Ludlum and Le Carre too. For Sci Fi, there's a lot of dodgy stuff out there but it's hard to go wrong with the classics - Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clarke. Personally don't recommend Heinlein. Alastair Reynolds Revelation Space series is also pretty decent, for something newer. For a somewhat younger audience (but I still enjoy them), the Mortal Engines series by Phillip Reeve is worth a read. For fantasy aimed at a similar age group (which just means it's a good read but not heavy), Johnathan Stroud's Amulet of Samarkand, The Golems Eye and Ptolemy's Gate are also a pretty good read.

Not read them. I hear good things but like you something makes me dubious. Can't put my finger on what though, so if you do read them lemme know what you think.

I doubt I'll be reading them. And I think I know the exact word that makes me dubious, it's the word "madly" before "in love" in their description.

It is a large confidence boost in all honesty. Shame I've probably hit on by more guys than girls.

Remember that time about a year ago I suggested someone making a guide to realistic?

That should happen.

I'm pretty sure he posted in the TA about being busy until mid-Marchish.

I think a rough rule of thumb is like your wins need to be your losses doubled and then a bit more. But it also depends like who the wins are against and such I guess.

Books? Fforde is good, as Concept says. Perhaps try some C.S. Lewis? He's good if you don't mind the fact that it's all Christian propaganda.

Want me to write up a "Kunos guide to realistic for people who shouldn't be reffing realistic"?

Depends on how accurate it is. Since you're not exactly the most active guy.

Realistic would probably be right though.
