You seem fairly tech savvy so you should go with a stock Android phone. If you have the cash the latest Jelly Bean one(Nexus 7, was it?) or you could settle for the Stock ICS one (I forgot the name, someone in this thread?) which will do the job better than fine.

Pros of Androids and cons?
I mean, money is not the obstacle. The obstacle is what is good; if I have to pay for a phone that does what I want I will, but I don't need something top of the line. |

Not sure if it's the same in India as it is in the UK. But generally, Iphones cost more than Android for nearly the exact same thing. You might find the odd game or app that's only available for Iphone, but you're not a gamer and any important/business app will mostly definitely be on Android. It's also easily customizable; you're not the kind of guy who'll need to root it but it's still easy to play with if you want.
So basically you're getting the same thing but for a lower cost. EDIT: Also you don't need iTunes on your computer. Dear God iTunes is bad.

GB/C/A emulators are available in the Android store (for free). Don't think the same could be said about the iPhone. So if you want to play Pokemon on your phone, get an Android.
