Vander hissed angrily at the Leafeon and Incineroar as they began to follow their trainer out the door. He couldn't believe that Isaac was actually okay with this, okay with breeding two Pokemon who were absolutely no more than friends just for the profit in it. What was wrong with him? He used to be so against just breeding for his own gain, now it was all he seemed to do. Vinny reassured Vander that it was all just a fling, nothing special. Although, she wasn't sure why she had to do so --- it wasn't like her and the Zangoose had anything special going on between them. Vinny didn't have a mate, and she was of that age where it was time to think of settling down and having an egg or two. What was all the fuss about? Her trainer was a breeder, and if he thought it was okay considering Morgana and herself were fine with it... what was the issue?
"Are you sure, Vin? Like it's okay if you're not... Morgana here can attract all sorts of ladies." Asked Isaac, clearly concerned about his precious starter Pokemon as they approached the hatchery. Vinny gave a confident nod, looking down at her paws. She knew whatever child came of this hatch would not be theirs to keep, but perhaps that was for the best. Morgana already had a daughter, and although she did not come from a love between two parents --- he thought the world of her. Maybe Vinny would feel the same, or maybe it was better to just get this offspring made without love as far away from herself as she possibly could. Isaac turned to the large black and orange cat as the door swung open, his voice was compassionate yet stern. "I know you're both my Pokemon, and you're both friends. But Morgana, I swear to god if I find out you hurt Vinny we are getting you fixed." Morgana's eyes widened, and he let out a pitiful meow in response. Vinny chuckled to herself and looked up at Morgana. "You should know by now he's all talk, Mona. He wouldn't dare hurt a stud such as yourself." She smirked, eyeing the cat up and down. He was handsome, that much was certain. It was just a shame he wasn't much of an intellectual, or he would be perfect for her. Who knows, something good could come out of this that would seal their bond as mates. However, she had to wonder why Vander seemed so upset by the whole thing. "I might be large, but Isaac knows I'm gentle. As do you, Lady Vin." He smirked, crossing his arms. He knew she hated when he called her 'lady', it was so degrading and childish. He had never hurt the Leafeon when play fighting, why would this time be any different. He watched as his master spoke to the counter lady, handing her an odd object and gesturing towards him as he did so. "He's using that... thing again. It smells a little funny, I think I have to hang onto it. That's what he used for me and Tori too." Morgana paused for a few moments, "I really hope Jean doesn't know where we've gone..." "Isaac wouldn't say a word, Vander only found out because of that thing." Vinny's eyes darted to the old spice incense her master was handing over. "What's his deal anyways?" Morgana looked at her quizzically, prompting Vinny to continue. "Vander's deal, he slapped Isaac in the Cloud Garden and he just seems... mad at him. I don't like it. Isaac doesn't deserve it, he's had enough bad in his life already..." Morgana gave her an empathetic look and moved closer to her, pitying the poor Leafeon. She loved Isaac so much she was willing to look past everything, even Morgana knew that he deserved most of what came his way. "I think he misses... well, you know who." Vinny's eyes lit up, remembering the older man that Isaac had once had ties with. Vander's former trainer, the other one that left. Vinny gave a small nod, before seeing an aide move towards them. Vinny and Morgana gave small nods to one another, as the aide passed Morgana an old spice incense. --------------------------------------- Isaac looked down at his phone as he was leaving, wondering if he really made the right choice in all this. The trainer who contacted him was extremely friendly, and seemed more than willing to breed him what he desired. He just hoped Vinny would be alright. --------------------------------------- ((Breeding my Level 36 male Incineroar and my Level 22 female Leafeon with an old spice incense. 134 (Tate) will be picking up the Litten that comes of this breeding)) Spoiler: show |

(I'll be adding this to the party as if my character had him a while though, as opposed to being a recent hatchling.) Placing the Riolu (to be named Scraps or Shreds, yet undecided) in this Luxury Ball. Also using this post to confirm that I'll be moving my Gallade to my Cherish Ball Last edited by Ex-Admiral Insane; 01-11-2018 at 11:58 AM. |

Hard to believe it's only been three years. Sai Hajimoto had left the Tower where he'd been raised once he had completed his training; once he had earned the black robes, per order of the Sage - his father Samanosuke -, Sai was ordered to continue his training outside the Tower walls; three years later, Samanosuke had passed away due to illness, and the youngest of the Hajimoto line had now returned to demonstrate the results of his labour. I was the first monk to be allowed outside. I believe my father's decision bore fruit, but there's only one way to know for certain. I will show everyone that Sage Samanosuke was right, and that monks from Tatakami Tower should be encouraged to further their training in the vast outdoors. I will fight to make sure my father's legacy endures. Approaching the tower itself, Sai felt uneasy. Too many memories, too much sorrow – after all, his father had passed away in his absence. Sage Samanosuke would never get to witness the man his son had become. But the Saigonese believed in eternity of the soul, and Sai was certain his father was watching from Palkia’s infinite gardens. He’d make him proud. Tatakami Tower had no doors; it was the monks’ way of saying everyone is welcome to join them in pursuit of betterment. The minute Sai walked inside, more memories flooded his mind, happy and painful alike. But looking at the novices going about their daily chores in the Tower’s main hall, he realized he knew none of them. Had it really been that long?... “Do my eyes deceive me? Sai Hajimoto!” The familiar voice brought him to attention. Raspy, tired, but always cheerful… it could only belong to one person! “Kyoya-sensei!” Sai’s smile was genuine, and it came unexpectedly. So lost had he been in thoughts and memories, he had all but abandoned hope of finding joy in the place where he’d grown. But he had forgotten – how could he? – the one teacher who’d been by his side in every tribulation, even when Sage Samanosuke wanted him punished for misbehaving. Kyoya was already an old man back when Sai took his first steps as a monk, but it seemed as if time had stopped affecting the man at some point: he looked exactly as Sai remembered him, completely bald, with a pristine white beard that reached as far as his aching knees, and the same pale yellow gi he always wore back then. More importantly, he still carried the same heart-warming toothless grin. “I wondered when you’d return Young Lion,” said Kyoya as he walked down the stairs leading to the ground-floor hall. “Well, maybe not that “Young” anymore, heh…” “You’re one to talk sensei”, joked Sai as he bowed in respect. “Sage Samanosuke was the White Lion, but that was hardly ever enough to make me a Lion as well.” The elder Kyoya laughed and placed a hand on Sai’s shoulder. “Truth be told, that was likely the case when you were last here,” he admitted with a cheeky grin. “But I sense something… different about you now. You grew out there, didn’t you? You truly became a Lion.” “I… I cannot say sensei. Not until…” he hesitated briefly, then closed his eyes and retrived a PokéBall from within his beginner robes, coloured black. “Not until I prove myself in the eyes of Dialga.” Kyoya’s expression shifted from amused to dead-serious as soon as Sai confirmed his suspicions. It was considered disrespectful for a Saigonese man to laugh in the face of a challenge, even a friendly one. Battle was a sacred art; that was the first thing they were taught in the Tower, and not even Kyoya, in his advanced age, was allowed to break that law. “Dialga watches, son. Show Him what He deserves to see,” the elder replied, grabbing a PokéBall of his own from the confines of his yellow gi. “I look forward to seeing you claim your father’s mantle, Hajimoto Sai.” The monk knew the Tower like the back of his hand. Thirty stories-high, each floor with an assigned overseer, an elder monk tasked with looking after the students in their chores, prayers and training. Novices earned their black robes in the Azelf Trial, battling their way up 10 of these floors; if they could defeat ten overseers, they would be considered monks of Tatakami. But that trial was long behind him; back then, he’d cleared it only with Jin, his Meditite companion, though with great effort. But now… I am not the same innocent boy I was then. I saw the world out there, its wonders and its vices; it made me stronger, wiser… it made me whole. Today is the day I prove it. The day I reach the top of the tower, the Sage’s shrine! A smile crossed his lips – not the arrogant grin of man aware of his own power, but the peaceful smile of a soul at ease. Failing here was no longer an option, no longer the terrifying ghost that haunted his dreams; Sai knew he’d surpassed his limits and became one with his companions. The Tower may as well have one hundred floors… he would conquer the challenge regardless. “Kyoya-sensei… I am honoured to have you as my first opponent,” he finally said as he summoned his four dearest friends to the field. “Watch us soar!” Surrounding Sai were Jin, Shiou, Kyuki and Kami, proof of the monk’s growth – the , , and stared at Kyoya with fierce determination, prompting the elder to nod and call forth his own companions. It began. ----- This is it. Just one more… Sai had lost track of time. How long had he been fighting? He couldn’t tell – but he knew he’d bested twenty nine other monks so far. All that stood in his way was one last clash, one final battle. His friends looked tired, but they also knew how close they were. “Jin,” whispered the monk, calling over the Medicham. “Dear friend… can you keep going?” The Fighting-Type was Sai’s oldest companion. Like him, he’d grown in Tatakami Tower, walked the same path as Sai; it had been Sage Samanosuke who had brought them together, designating Jin as the partner of then-infant Sai. Back then, having no say in the matter had irritated the Meditite – he’d always believed he would be allowed to choose his Trainer, the novice he considered strongest… having the Sage make that decision for him was a slap in the face and his first lesson in humility. Because, in the end, Sai’s father couldn’t have made a better choice. Now, so many years later, here they were again… on the verge of fulfilling Sai’s promise, so close to making Sage Samanosuke proud. The Medicham nodded, and human and Pokémon bowed to each other simultaneously. Gazing at his other three friends, Sai was certain they, too, were determined to see this through, each for their own reasons: Shiou was grinning like usual, excited to see the usually-pacifist Sai embrace a passion for battle so completely – the ghost loved to taste the conflict and contradiction of Sai’s righteous soul; Kyuki had a tranquil and solemn expression, understanding Sai’s motivations – despite the Ninetales’s dislike for combat, he would do everything in his power to help the monk achieve inner peace; and Kami… Kami felt closer to the other Gods here than he had in a very long time – the eternal being cared little for Sai’s human struggles, but there was no denying that displaying his own power this close to the eyes of the Creation Trio felt thrilling. “Come, Hajimoto Sai!” shouted a voice from across the thirtieth hall. “I remember when you were just a cub like all the others! Look at you now…” Renji Yamazuka. He was only ten years older than me, but I remember looking up to him as a hero… the youngest monk ever to earn the yellow robes. Across him stood a dark-haired man in his thirties. Renji was particular about not shaving his head for reasons he never disclosed – something that the older monks the older monks despise him and the younger ones admire him. But regardless of what others thought of him, nobody could deny that Renji Yamazuka was exceptionally strong and disciplined. At one point he’d been offered the position of Sage, but he had turned it down; up until this day, Sai had never known why. “It’s time for the son of the White Lion to claim his throne. I couldn’t bring myself to don his gi without seeing you one more time,” confessed Renji. “I had a feeling you’d come back when you felt ready. So did Samanosuke…” But I was too late for him. Renji’s partner, a Mienshao, rushed forward, but found itself stopping midway. It couldn’t move. Kami stood across it, showing not even a hint of emotion. Soon, the fighter was assaulted by a vicious migraine, before being launched in the air and forcibly brought back down to the ground, irremediably trapped in the Kadabra’s Psychic grip. There was nothing it could do; two more tosses across the arena, and Mienshao was knocked out cold. The following clash was Justas short; against Renji’s next warrior, a Hawlucha, Sai chose to send Kyuki. A burst of light as gorgeous as it was violent erupted from where the nine-tailed fox stood, the Dazzling Gleam stunning his foe long enough for a new Ice Age to engulf the field – reacting to Sai’s motions, Kyuki’s Z-Crystal allowed the Ninetales to release his Subzero Slammer, bringing an end to the fight. “Remarkable. This level of strength… I remember when your Pokémon could barely throw a punch!” Sai, by Tatakami “law”, could not bring himself to smile at the remark, but the irony of it all was indeed amusing. Because at one point, Jin literally could do nothing other than absorb the pain he was inflicted… Now, the two of them were ready to show Renji that punching was the least they could do. The Medicham replaced Kyuki on the battlefield, while Renji called out his last partner – Blaziken. I remember him. The first time I ever saw a Pokemon who could… Light enveloped the Fire-Type and its body began to change shape. In a matter of seconds, Renji’s partner had Mega Evolved! “Here we go. Hajimoto, are you ready?!” Fast as lightning, Mega Blaziken dashed forward and drove a flaming fist straight into Jin’s gut, following up with a spinning Blaze Kick that struck the Medicham on the side of the head, sending him flying across the arena. Jin tumbled across the floor, and for a moment, it seemed like he wouldn’t be getting back up. You will. Nothing can keep you down at this point, can it Jin? The Medicham struggled, but managed to regain his footing. And while he knew it was Tatakami Tower’s rules to disrupt the sacred art of battle with laughter, he couldn’t hold back a smile – now that he’d felt his opponent’s level of strength, he knew what he had to do. Blaziken charged again, fire surrounding his foot, but this time around Jin Detected his intention and swiftly dodged the kick, before channelling his electrical chakra with a hand seal and unleashing a short-range Thunderbolt! “Oh, I see – Jin has mastered elemental chakra! Your growth is beyond impressive, Hajimoto…” Blaziken’s speed increased once more thanks to his Mega form, and flames surrounded his foot a third time; however, tricking Jin, he then delivered a fierce rising uppercut that again sent the Medicham to the mat! “Finish him!” Using his powerful leg, Blaziken leaped in the air, before being surrounded by glistening white energy that took the form of a huge eagle. His eyes were firmly locked on the downed Jin… Brave Bird… The Fire-Type dove down, homing in on his target like a bird of prey. When the two made contact, the ensuing shockwave almost caused Sai and Renji to lose their footing… but when the dust settled, Jin was still conscious, having braced himself to Endure the hit! “Resilient… but your partner has nothing left Hajimoto,” sentenced Renji. Embers enveloped Blaziken’s fist; the fighter towered over Jin, then threw the final punch… but the Medicham rolled out of the way at the last second! Annoyed, Blaziken went for another kick, another punch… but Jin effortlessly dodged each and every time! “H-how? How is he this fast?! Blaziken should be the one to…” suddenly, Renji fell silent; realization struck him like lighting. “Blaziken is slower too,” replied Sai. “You see now, don’t you? Jin took his speed.” “Just then, before our Brave Bird… He used Psych Up?!” Blaziken was out of breath, and tripped after another failed Fire Punch. Sai and Jin exchanged a glance; this was it. Trainer and Pokémon moved as one, channelling their chakra as they performed their favourite move. Sai’s muscles tensed up, sweat began to form in his forehead – he didn’t have to do it, but this would be their victory. Simultaneously, the monk and the Medicham drove an open palm forward, bodies crackling with energy. ”DIAMOND ART: HAKKEI!!” The Force Palm was delivered to Blaziken’s chest with such power that the Mega Pokemon was pushed back by the shockwave and driven into the Tower wall; after that, he reverted to his base state, and fell unconscious. With the battle over, Renji finally allowed himself to smile – and not only that, but he walked over to Sai and pulled him into an embrace. No words were spoken, nor were they needed; at that moment, Sai had claimed the mantle of his father. “The new White Lion… Sage Sai Hajimoto,” declared the elder Kyoya out of breath, having finally reached the thirtieth floor moments before the match’s conclusion. Sai helped Jin back to his feet, both touched foreheads in mutual silent thanks, and walked over to final flight of stairs. Renji and Kyoya joined them, but didn’t climb the steps. “This is the Shrine we built to honour the Creation Trio,” said Kyoya, running a hand through his beard. “Your father often prayed here. Among other things, he prayed for your success… It seems his prayers were answered.” Sai fought back tears, but Jin couldn’t. Together, they walked up to the shrine, finding a small red wood table in front of a small stone carving of Arceus, Palkia, Dialga and Giratina. Resting atop the table was a white gi… and a Cherish Ball. “We kept Sage Samanosuke’s only living partner in hopes you’d return one day to claim it,” said Renji from a distance. “Inside that Ball is Ryuga, a young Totodile taken in by the Sage mere days before he…” “He would like you to have him,” interrupted Kyoya. “It was his last request. And here is one from me… I would be honoured if you took your father’s robe. That is the white gi of Tatakami Tower’s Sage, and I can think of nobody more deserving to wear it.” Sai ran a hand through the fabric. Yes, he remembered… father always wore that robe. “Kyoya-sensei… I will not be staying. Surely you know this… I have much to travel still,” replied the monk, clearly conflicted. “Are you sure?...” “We know you must go. The White Lion must not be caged. Take the gi and show the whole world just what kind of Trainer our Tower raises,” concluded the elder. On that day, the new Tatakami Sage was appointed. The White Lion of Saigo was back, though he could not stay – Fizzytopia called out to him for new adventures, new challenges, new chapters in his story. Wearing the white cloth of Sage, Sai left the Tower clutching his father’s parting gift in his hand: the Cherish Ball containing his last Pokémon. He would treasure him, and raise it like Samanosuke would. Looking on from a distance, a black and white quadruped watched to make sure Sai left Saigo behind. The Absol could not prevent what was to come, but at least that man would survive to even the scales of fate. -------- OoC: Claiming Ryuga the Totodile and placing him in Cherish Ball 1/1. Thank you so much Tate! Five years in the making! Also, using Ice Stone 1/2 to evolve Kyuki into Alolan Ninetales ^^

It hadn't been long at all since the New Year's Grand Festival, and Alice Hope's prize for that had been her first egg of 2018. She already had so many Pokemon, a fact that was very much her own fault, but she loved bringing them home from the Adoption Centre and if they bonded out on a journey then what was she to do? -- Reject them, maybe, but no. Obviously, no.
She burst through the doors, still in her gorgeous pink formal dress, carrying an Enigma Egg in a borrowed leather bag and bundle of blankets for some extra cushioning. The bag she had worn to the service hadn't been big enough to store it, and so her priority had been to get to the Hatchery as quickly as possible. Axel had teleported her some of the way, keeping an eye incase dizziness from the drop off had her fumbling, and then the psychic had escorted her the rest of the way. Relieved, Alice stopped at the desk to register her egg, clearly a bit scattered but happy and eagerly anticipating hatching day. This would be the longest week of the year so far, waiting for the next Monday to come, but at least it would be in a positive way. There was time for things to go agonisingly wrong yet.

Athena slipped on her way into the Hatchery. It was still so icy outside and she hadn't properly wiped her boots of in the entryway due to her excitement. The egg she was holding slipped out of her hand and she gasped. The trainer looked like a comedy act trying to keep herself from falling flat on her face while also flalilng her arms to save the egg. A pink blur swooped by and guided the delicate Pokemon egg back into Athena's arm. It landed on Athena's shoulder and ruffled its feathers with a huff.
"Hah...Thanks Cass..." Athena panted, holding the egg close. Her Spritzee rolled his eyes. Was he really adopted by such a clumsy trainer? Athena approached the counter of the hatchery and checked the egg for any cracks or scratches before she dropped it off. Cassis fluttered off her shoulder and sat on the welcome mat near the door. Athena turned to leave and smiled at the Spritzee. "Aw, you want to make sure I don't slip again, huh?" She said, delighted at her Pokemon's thoughtfulness. Cassis didn't look at her and instead waited for her to just open the door already. He didn't care if she fell, definitely not. Dropping off Enigma Egg #3! |
