Ozzy & Drix
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osmosis_Jones
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozzy_%26_Drix Episode 1 on Youtube Another trip down Memory Lane with childhood cartoons. This was one for which I thought the premise was very cute and the execution at least decent. Definitely preferred this one to a lot of KidsWB's other fare on Saturday mornings. Osmosis "Ozzy" Jones and Drix make quite the team. I know Gr was saying just the other day how much he hated '80s buddy cop films , but this was a cute buddy cop pairing in my opinion and I honestly wouldn't mind seeing more if it were just a scootch better written. As it is, the writing's more along the same level as Static Shock or the Jackie Chan Adventures. Not exactly Batman: the Animated Series territory. ^^; But for a fifteen-minute stroll down Memory Lane, it's not bad. LOL @ how badly the film bombed though. ^^; $75 million? And it only made about one-fifth of that back? Ouch.

I like the cartoon a bit but man, looking at it now, it's way interesting. I'm probably biased though.

I liked this show. Thought it was a cute and clever way to teach kids about diseases and the human body. Really enjoyed some of their interpretations about how the immune system and other mechanisms work. XP

I didn't watch the movie, but for the show, I loved the concept that diseases were like these evil villains.
It wasn't very good though Reminds me of the Magic School Bus episode, "Inside the Human Body", where they go in Ralphie. That episode fucked me up as a kid if you can believe it, mostly because I got really sick right after I saw it and I associated the sickness with it. |

It's not all that great, but you guys keep ragging on it and I gotta say ... I'd take this one over a lot of the other crap cartoons WB fielded back in the day. *would list off names but in before hurt feelings!* Still. Yeah, it's not all that great, but it's not bad either. I've enjoyed what few episodes I've watched during meal breaks.

It had a great concept. The direction could've been better, but I wouldn't call it awful. Far better than shows like Mucha Lucha or whatever. >.>;

Well, at least it's not Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island.
Xiaolin Showdown was okay. While we're listing shitty WB cartoons: Johnny Test, Cubix, What's New, Scooby-Doo?, and Loonatics.... to name a few. You know, I'm watching that first episode again and it really isn't half bad. Kind of informative actually. Last edited by deoxys; 02-08-2012 at 01:17 AM. |

Yeah I dare one of you to say Chowder was better than O+D.

I know someone who would in a heartbeat... that and Flapjack. I wouldn't though.
But Adventure Time? No competition. A lot of things couldn't stand up to AT, actually. |

Ozzy & Drix was fun.
Static Shock will always have a place in my heart too. Just Saturday morning cartoons...Pokemon, Digimon, Shaman King, Fighting Foodons, Medabots, Jackie Chan Adventures are things I can actually remember. Things I don't want to remember include Winx Club and Tokyo Mew Mew. |

The movie has some pretty hilarious moments.
Like the political ad in the colon where the politician grabs a little kid and basically cracks his neck around saying "That's the smell of change, Billy. That's the smell of change." Doesn't work well typing it out though. |

>Static Shock
I liked this show too. >Shaman King *hi-fives* Watched a bunch of the O&D episodes on YT today. Should check out the movie sometime. (Always thought it was hilarous how they obviously recycled some scenes in the series.)

Jackie Chan had some interesting plots, Static Shock had a good concept but it wasn't extremely good and doesn't really have an "omg childhood memmoreez" feel to it. It was nice as cartoons go, I'll give it that.
Ozzy/Drix and Cyberchase were the two actually good educational shows iirc. There might have been another, but I can't think of any.
