Airships

Balloons, Zepplins, Blimps, and other dirigibles.

What do you think of them?
Have you ever ridden one?
Do you want to ride one?
What future do you see for them?
Have you heard of the Aeromoddeller2 or the HeiDAS UH (a steam balloon

)?

Did you know airships were used in the Civil War?

I think they're cool, I want to ride one, but I never have yet. I think Airships are the future, it's only a matter of time. I support Hydrogen as a lifting gas, and I want to go into the Airship Business to make all this a reality.

I don't smoke, so that doesn't bother me, however, the lift gas is kept in separate units, so smoking wouldn't be a problem.

A lot of those airships are in reality, just GIANT helicopters.

I know some of them are, particularly the ones in The Castle in the Sky, but, an airship is still an ariship, and there's no reason why not to meld the two together (static (buoyancy) lift + dynamic (wing/rotor) Lift)

Never ridden on any sort of airship, or even any sort of aircraft. Though I must admit, a blimp ride might be kinda cool...

I've been on airplanes, but they fly too high for things to be of interest, a blimp or hot air balloon though, could hover/fly right at tree line and over houses, and I think that would be way cool to try out.

No one, I was simply saying I have ridden in one, and it would doubtlessly pale in comparison to an airship when enjoyment is your motive.
