So I've started one on Platinum instead and the rules I am doing are:
-1 Pokemon each route -1 Pokemon per family -KO = Boxed for life -Nicknaming all Pokemon caught -Can use items and can buy items -Can't defeat wild Pokemon unless trying to catch them. -Can use TM's. -No Legendaries. So the start of my journey... -Professor Rowan gives me a Level 5 PIPLUP! I call him Zane!! -Beat Rival Chris' TURTWIG. With 1 HP left... -Healing time... -Found Antidote!! -Caught Level 2 STARLY! Call him Johnnie!! -Caught Level 3 KRICKETOT! Call him Shocker!! Don't know why. -Found Potion. -Run into Dawn and Looker. -Healing time... -Trainer School time!! -Found Parlyz Heal. -Battle 2 kids. -Zane learned Bubble!! -Poketch gain. -Battle more kids. -Johnnie learnt Quick Attack!! -Beat a kid... -Healing time... -Caught a Level 4 BUDEW! Called it Roseguy!! -Rival battle, Vs. Chris. I Love you Shocker with your Biding abilities! Win -Healing time... -Another trainer battle win. -Found Pokeball!! -Healing time... -Cave time... -Found an X Defend!! -Found a Repel!! -Johnnie learned Wing Attack!! -Leveling up!! -Healing time... -Rose learnt Water Sport!! -Caught a SHINX! Called him Spike!! -Caught a GEODUDE! Called it Rocky!! And that's where I save. Current Team: Zane: Male Piplup Type: Water Lv. 5-10 Mild Nature (+Sp.A, -Def) Met: Route 201 (Given) Ability: Torrent Moves: Pound (Normal) Growl (Normal) Bubble (Water) Comments: Haven't used the starter way too much as I usually do but I'm happy that I got the 1 Water move in at least before the gym. I'm happy with the nature. Special Attack will be useful for a Water Type, physical defense doesn't matter too much. Johnnie: Male Starly Type: Normal/Flying Lv. 2-10 Naughty Nature (+Att, -Sp.D) Met: Route 201 Ability: Moves: Tackle (Normal) Growl (Normal) Quick Attack (Normal) Wing Attack (Flying) Comments: Quick Attack and Wing Attack are coming in handy. Coming along well. Attack is a bonus but Special Defense is useful though... Shocker: Male Kricketot Type: Bug Lv. 3-9 Impish Nature (+Def, -Sp.A) Met: Route 202 Ability: Shed Skin Moves: Growl (Normal) Bide (Normal) Comments: Biding like a champ!! This guy has been really useful, to my surprise I must say. Hopefully he will get some more moves soon. Nature is OK. Roseguy: Male Budew Type: Grass/Poison Lv. 4-8 Gentle Nature (+Sp.D, -Def) Met: Route 204 Ability: Natural Cure Moves: Absorb (Grass) Growth (Normal) Water Sport (Water) Comments: Wish it wasn't male... Absorb does damage, but very little, so I am hoping I can train him up a bit more before Roark. Not that exciting nature considering I couldn't care less I just want good attack. Spike: Female Shinx Type: Electric Lv. 4 Gentle Nature (+Sp.D, -Def) Met: Route 203 Ability: Intimidate Moves: Tackle (Normal) Comments: Haven't even used it yet. Exp. Share will be hers if she drops off pace. Only got Tackle which is annoying. Look up. Rocky: Female Geodude Type: Rock/Ground Lv. 5 Quiet Nature (+Sp.A, -Spd) Met: Oreburgh Gate Ability: Sturdy Moves: Tackle (Normal) Defense Curl (Normal) Mud Sport (Ground) Comments: Geodude have genders? That would be a bit awkward, eh. Just caught him so not much I can say. Thinking about spamming Defense Curl as much as I can, then spam Tackle. :P Special Attack for Rock/Ground? *Facepalms repeatedly* Also a lack of Speed makes it that much better... Boxed: None Name: Henry Rival: Chris Time: 5:01. Only because I left it on when I went to the shops... Whereabouts: Oreburgh City Last edited by hen da man; 12-18-2010 at 03:44 AM. |

So, went through to Oreburgh with no troubles, caught Crimson the Ponyta on route 207 and Basilisk the Onix at the mine. realizing I didn't run into a 'mon at the gate, I caught StupidRock the Geodude. Raising everyone to ~Lv. 17 before battling Roark, Budew and Prinplup should make short work of him.
Party: Koraeto the Budew Crimson the Ponyta Leo the Luxio Stark the Staravia Preston the Prinplup Basilisk the Onix Box'd: Bieber the Bidoof StupidRock the Geodude IThinkNot the Zubat |

Caught Snorlax, went to Fuschia (without fighting the trainers en route), caught a Nidoran F in the safari zone at level 30, and worked out my team from here on out. Currently training Vulpix up to catch the rest of them (will evolve when it gets flamethrower at level 29). Team: Vulpix, Hypno, Ivysaur, Jolteon, Snorlax, intending to round it off with Lapras. In reserve, I have Graveler, Sandshrew, Bellsprout, Gastly, Gyarados and Nidoran F.

Spike OHKO'd Zubat with a Spark and Rocky was spamming Magnitude on Skuntank as it was using SmokeScreen way too much. Then it used Night Slash so I switched to Johnnie who got 2 Quick Attacks in whilst Skuntank was using SmokeScreen... again. And that's where it ends. Current Team: Zane: Male Prinplup Type: Water Item: None Lv. 5-17 Mild Nature (+Sp.A, -Def) Met: Route 201 (Given) Ability: Torrent Moves: Pound (Normal) Metal Claw (Steel) Bubble (Water) Peck (Flying) Comments: Haven't used the starter way too much as I usually do, but I'm happy with him at the moment. Zane hasn't been so handy with Team Galactic which means I need to level him up a bit more. He has Peck and Metal Claw which will be quite useful, but I need a better Water-type move. I'm happy with the nature. Special Attack will be useful for a Water Type, physical defense doesn't matter too much. Johnnie: Male Staravia Type: Normal/Flying Item: None Lv. 2-21 Naughty Nature (+Att, -Sp.D) Met: Route 201 Ability: Intimidate Moves: Endeavor (Normal) Double Team (Normal) Quick Attack (Normal) Wing Attack (Flying) Comments: Quick Attack and Wing Attack are coming in handy. He's Coming along well, actually the best in my team. Haven't had a chance to use Endeavor yet but it is a very effective move that my Staraptor has on my other Platinum. Double Team is helping with evasiveness but Quick Attack and Wing Attack are the most useful. Attack is a bonus but Special Defense is useful though... Shocker: Male Kricketune Type: Bug Item: Soothe Bell Lv. 3-16 Impish Nature (+Def, -Sp.A) Met: Route 202 Ability: Swarm Moves: Cut (Normal) Bide (Normal) Fury Cutter (Bug) Leech Life (Bug) Comments: Biding like a champ still!! This guy has been useful but not as much now. Leech Life is pretty good but still relatively weak Bug attacks which I need to change. Hopefully he will get good moves soon. Nature is OK. Roseguy: Male Budew Type: Grass/Poison Item: Poison Barb Lv. 4-17 Gentle Nature (+Sp.D, -Def) Met: Route 204 Ability: Natural Cure Moves: Absorb (Grass) Growth (Normal) Mega Drain (Grass) Stun Spore (Grass) Comments: Wish it wasn't male... Stun Spore is helping alot and Growth while it's paralyzed before Mega Drain is really good. If Mega Drain doesn't do much damage I just switch while it's still paralyzed, simple. Want to get a new move instead of Absorb but I'm not sure whether I want to give it a TM or just wait until it evolves. Not that exciting nature considering I couldn't care less about Defense I just want good Attack. Spike: Female Luxio Type: Electric Item: None Lv. 4-19 Gentle Nature (+Sp.D, -Def) Met: Route 203 Ability: Intimidate Moves: Tackle (Normal) Bite (Dark) Charge (Electric) Spark (Electric) Comments: Spark has been one of the most useful attacks against Team Galactic. Coming along brilliantly and I'm glad she hasn't dropped off pace. Bite was a good get and I'm really happy about it. Look up for nature. Rocky: Female Geodude Type: Rock/Ground Item: None Lv. 5-17 Quiet Nature (+Sp.A, -Spd) Met: Oreburgh Gate Ability: Sturdy Moves: Rock Throw (Rock) Magnitude (Ground) Rock Smash (Fighting) Stealth Rock (Rock) Comments: Geodude have genders? That would be a bit awkward, eh. Magnitude was useful against Skuntank which helped me beat it without losing a 'mon. Stealth Rock is a good move as well which I have never used because I thought nothing of it until now. Rock Smash was good for beating those evil Glameows and Rock Throw was good for Zubats. Special Attack for Rock/Ground? *Facepalms repeatedly* Also a lack of Speed makes it that much better... Boxed: Superman: Female Zubat Type: Poison/Flying Item: None Lv. 8 Timid Nature (+Spd, -Att) Met: Oreburgh Mine Ability: Inner Focus Moves: Leech Life (Bug) Supersonic (Normal) Comments: Hasn't got many moves. Only gonna be a real reserve. Love the nickname though. :P Speed get was brilliant as this guy is gonna be super quick. Attack loss is a meh. Ye Brew: Male Buizel Type: Water Item: None Lv. 10 Lax Nature (+Def, -Sp.D) Met: Route 205 Ability: Swift Swim Moves: Water Sport (Water) Quick Attack (Normal) Water Gun (Water) Pursuit (Dark) Comments: Got a good moveset that will help him level up quickly, if needed. Water Gun is just a typical water move but I like Pursuit. Quick Attack is good for landing one final blow and Water Sport is useless so it'll go. Nature I am having mixed feelings about. Dizzy: Female Buneary Type: Normal Item: None Lv. 11 Rash Nature (+Sp.A, -Sp.D) Met: Eterna Forest Ability: Klutz Moves: Pound (Normal) Defense Curl (Normal) Foresight (Normal) Endure (Normal) Comments: Pound is the only damaging move so yeah. Defense Curl, meh, Foresight, meh, Endure, better but still, meh. Special Attack is good but Special Defense isn't really needed considering it is only weak to fighting!! So a good nature in my opinion. Items: 2x Repel 1x Yellow Shard 1x Escape Rope 10x Honey 1x Green Shard 1x Blue Shard 2x Parlyz Heal 2x Super Potion 2x Potion 1x Antidote 1x Ultra Ball 1x Net Ball 1x X Attack 1x X Defend 1x Dire Hit 1x X Sp. Def 1x X Speed 1x X Special TM's and HM's TM 09: Bullet Seed (Found) TM 27: Return (Given) TM 46: Thief (Found) TM 86: Grass Knot (Given) HM 01: Cut (Given) HM 06: Rock Smash (Given) Routes with caught Pokemon: -Route 201 (Given) -Route 201 (Caught) -Route 202 -Route 203 -Route 204 -Route 205 -Eterna Forest -Oreburgh Mine -Oreburgh Gate Name: Henry Rival: Chris Time: 10:42 Whereabouts: Eterna City |

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF!
Lost Monferno and Hippopotas in quick succession to trainers on the way to Celestic Town: the double team with a Raichu (Thunderbolt) and a Gyarados (Thrash) made a right mess of my team of lovable all sorts, leaving me with just my own Gyarados to take on a game where the 8th and final gym uses Electric Pokemon. I am working on a very original replacement challenge on SoulSilver, but will get back to y'all on that later. Good luck to those of you still going, I have every respect for people who can finish one of these without crazy overlevelling shennanigans. |

Right, unveiling of cunning new Pokewalker-Nuzlocke plan, promoting excercise and FFFFFFFFFFF since 2010.
Pretty simple premise this, it'll work a lot like Nuzlocke except using the Pokewalker instead of routes: I can only use my starter Pokemon (Chikorita, chosen at random) plus Pokemon caught using the Pokewalker feature. I can only catch Pokemon in each route ONCE (But I can use them again to gain watts and get items) and in that one attempt, I can catch up to the three Pokemon allowed, including duplicates if I so wish. I cannot catch on the same route more than once, so I can't get both Group A Pokemon or whatever, and have to take what I find the first time. Once Pokemon are on the game, it functions as a normal Nuzlocke, so KOermanent Boxing. I will be able to use TMs and the like... So, having gone for a bit of a walk this morning, I can announce the first two routes worth of Pokemon: Starter: Dill, L9 Male Chikorita Refreshing Field: L5 Male Pidgey L5 Nidoran ♀ L8 Female Doduo (Damn, Kangaskhan would have been ace) Noisy Forest: L5 Male Spearow L6 Female Paras (Alternative was Venonat, which would have been much better) L15 Female Wobbuffet (Overlevelled, but if ever a Pokemon wasn't designed to Nuzlocke...) If anyone wants to join me on this, it's quite fun! |

Flannery Game Over'd me. Her Emerald Team is ridiculous and with two Grass types and a pretty weak team in general, I barely stood any chance.
Fucking Maxie. Maybe if I had Saline I would be able to win. |

I started a Pearl Nuzlocke last week whilst stuck at home ill and must admit its been easier than my Emerald one where I lost Pokemon all the time. I have yet to lose a Pokemon, I have 2 Badges but I keep encountering the same bloody Pokemon on every Route that I have very limited back up Pokemon. I'll update this as I go along but so far tis a bit boring =p
