I got the game last night, and I played it for a few hours. This is a great game! I got as far as beating Viola, and I went north for a screen or two. Then called it quits for the night. Did the trade for Farfetch'd (no it wasn't a Pick Up Bunnelby), and my Farfetch'd is Jolly with, perhaps, a 31 IV for speed which was cool.

Spent most of my time looking for a Scatterbug with Compound Eyes and a usable nature. I ended up settling for Calm I think because it didn't hinder Sp.Atk, and it wasn't neutral. I was so excited when Spewpa evolved into the Polar Form, because that's the one I wanted the most!

My team:

Froakie Lv. 14 - Water Pulse, Bubble, Lick, Quick Attack
Vivillon Lv. 13 - Struggle Bug, Stun Spore, Protect, String Shot

Extras
Fletchling Lv. 14 - Tackle, Peck, Quick Attack, (something else)

Fletchling was awesome in the first gym, but Pecking Vivillon to death was certainly time consuming. Luckily she used her Potion on Surskit. I definitely need to get me a Pick Upper. My next target, I think, is Pancham.

For anyone still wondering where/how to catch Skrelp, I caught mine in Cyllage City with a Good Rod. You get the Good Rod from a Fisherman in Coumarine City. I would assume the same holds true for you Clauncher fans with X.

Anyway, even after getting off my laptop for the night, I was still engrossed in the game, playing until well after three in the morning. And now I just woke up, so I'm playing again. I'm in Laverre Gym, with the following party;

Fairy Badge get! I was on the can while battling Valerie, which is why I didn't constantly edit a post here with the details. Used Pyroar against Klefki, Meowstic against Mr. Mime, and Skrelp against Sylveon. Now I'm trying to boot Team Flare out of the Poké Ball Factory.

I just finished Abra hunting for my team. Good fucking god it was irritating. It took like 30 minutes for each one to appear, and the first two I got ended up having fucking Adamant natures. I finally got one that's atleast neutral.

Also here's something amusing. If you do a 360 evolution trade with someone who has a game in a different language, and don't nickname your pokemon, when your pokemon evolves, it'll be named in that other language. My Alakazam is in freaking Japanese now.

Just found a shop in Lumiose City where you can actually buy Premier Balls- and I don't mean as part of the whole buy-10-Poké-Balls-get-a-free-Premier-Ball deal, I mean they are available for purchase at 200 Pokédollars apiece!

but mine is a boy almost at Lv. 40 and he hasn't
learned anything offensive after Psybeam.

I think it's been said that Meowstic has two different movepools; one for each gender. Male is more supportive, female is more offensive.

Mine just hit level 49. And that makes sense- it was established that the female Meowstic would be better at outright attacking, while the male would be more geared towards support moves. Mine's female, and she's learned stuff like Psychic, Charge Beam, Signal Beam, and Shadow Ball, just by leveling up.

Also, my Skrelp just evolved into a Dragalge!

Not that bad. It learns Surf from the HM, Thunderbolt from a TM, and Sludge Bomb by leveling up. I have yet to find the move relearner, though- I've heard that Clawitzer gets a whole bunch of goodies at level 1, and I want to see if the same holds true for Dragalge.
