Iowa looks like an adult Hoshii Miki. She looks older. Fuller. Boobs. But seriously, she reminded me instantly of Miki. I wonder how many others feel the same way ... The Engrish in her character lines is pretty bad though. I get that it's meant to be hur hur Japlish, but the problem is that the words they've chosen to make the Japanese into Japlish aren't words that most native English speakers would've inserted. Take for example: Quote:

E3 Transport Gauge
2CAV 4DD (9-10 Drums) + CL 2CA 3DD Main fleet loaded up with drums, CAVs loaded with Zuiun and two main guns and a drum each. Searchlight packed on DD at the last slot, preferably a unit for AACI. I had Yukikaze and Shigure prepped for Torpedo CI + Skilled Lookouts, Star Shell on Furutaka and Aoba just sitting around loaded for a mixed CI. Abukuma as standard. With this fleet, you probably won't be unlucky enough to go to C (a land-based aerial fight), and you'll have to prepare for submarine nodes first and third. Took me about four runs on Easy, so Medium and above should be fine with the nine. Basically I ran three standard runs, fourth was loaded with ASW and AACI on main fleet. Boss Kill Set Up 2CVL 3BB(V) CA + 2 DD CL 2 CLT FBB I had RJ and Junyou in the first and second spots of first fleet loaded with torpedo bombers and Reppuu/Shiden to minimise damage taken and maximise damage output. Mutsu and the Fusou sisters had AP Shell set ups or RADAR, Maya in vanguard for AACI. Second fleet had KTKM, Yukikaze and Shigure all prepped for Torpedo CI, Ooi and Abukuma with the usual, Haruna just in case with AP set up. You should start at the top of the map in the middle, so head south at the first selection node. 2 Ru Class or 1 Ru + 1 Battleship Princess at first battle, Land-based airfight second, relatively simple after that. @Talon: You should see our discussion about Iowa on the Skype chat lol. SHE'S REALLY BROKEN. |

The Transport section was hell and so far the actual boss part was easy as heck.

There's an hour left on the event, but to my misfortune, I couldn't finish it in time. Got to E-3 Boss last dance, with 25 on the gauge. Almost all of my runs were ended on the first BB node, with some unlucky fuck getting knocked to red more times than I can count.
I went from 100 buckets to 3. Absolutely horrible feeling, of being so close, yet just out of reach. Fuel sources tanked too. I guess it wasn't all bad though, I got an alright amount of ships as drops from the event. Nothing like Pudding mind you, but alright stuff: Spoiler: show So yeah, while I'm really fucking bummed and all, I guess for an event I didn't prepare for, I did alright.

I got a few ships this event as well. Mizuho being my favorite of the bunch, I spent so much time last event trying to get her!

Still trying to get pudding. Will probably post an aftermath report if I get time.
EDIT: Winter 2016 Event Aftermath This event was a small scale event, and a pretty easy one at that. Not a pain to farm, got some nice drops and some nice rewards. I didn't get pudding in the end but I got Amagi, Harusame, Asagumo and Nagato from drops. And a Last edited by KamenAeons; 02-29-2016 at 07:26 AM. |

Spring Event Logbook : E-1
E-1 was a fairly easy map. Had some bad luck with the RNG here and there, but it wasn't too bad. Used the 2 FBB / 2 CA(V) / 2 Fast CVL + 1CL 5 DD comp for the North Route to have resources at the boss node, since it's one less fight than the South Route. I'd have to say that the Pre-Boss Node was harder than the boss node itself, honestly. The 3 BB Flag / Elite + Blue Cunt was a nuisance. Combined Fleet consisted of: Spoiler: show Not going to be doing one of these for every single map completion, only every so often. It's kinda fun to post results, though I think it'll quickly devolve into NaCl gifs. |

Kamen Fleet Log: Spring 2016 ALL OUT WAR
E-1 Hard - Cleared
Losses: 31 buckets, 3000 fuel, 2000 ammo, 500 steel, -4000 bauxite, loss of Tomonaga squadron ( ;~;7 ). [Yes I got 4000 more bauxite than I started with.] E-2 E-3 E-4 E-5 E-6 E-7 Well that was hell. H Node stands for hell with a CV or BB Hime just sitting there ready to blast the heck out of your fleet. If Crys had hell, I think I walked into it and back. Same fleet set up as Crys, with support shelling to help soften up the HELL NODE. Naka just destroying the BB Hime and Ru-class was amazing. Also ShouhouZuihou wombocombo. I think only Agano was a notable drop here for me. I know Taigei is somewhere here but E1 was just hell man. Fleet info which isn't really useful if you don't know things as is: Spoiler: show |

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!? Soo ... the Chinese apparently went and created a Kantai Collection ripoff called Azur Lane (Chinese 碧蓝航线, Japanese アズールレーン). The Internet market is TOO CROWDED, I say, for there to be two anthropomorphized WW2 warships franchises. I'm not about to keep track of two different Akagis, two different Atagos, two different Shoukakus ... But that hasn't stopped the Chinese from saying "FUCK COPYRIGHT! " in classic Chinese fashion and just ... going ahead and making their own mobile phone KanColle without DMM.

Truth be told, the battle system and construction system in Azur Lane is a lot better than KanColle's. The primary negative point of Azur Lane is that it focuses more on fanservice rather than try to hold some form of historical accuracy as KanColle does.
Don't get me wrong, KanColle is loaded with fanservice too (given how it overtook Touhou completely, then competed with Granblue Fantasy and Fate over the last few years). However, it's safe to say that Azur Lane can be called a cheap knock-off of KanColle, it's definitely less wallet damaging after all. KanColle necessitates you forking out some cash as you add more girls to your fleet, while Azur Lane gives you a lot of breathing room with getting resources, crafting and getting characters. |

So. KanColle still exists. I got really, really nostalgic for it and decided to jump right into it once again. Keep in mind, I haven't played KC in around 4-5 years at this point, so I know I'm going to be fairing pretty far behind other people. A LOT has changed, and the reason for that is because Adobe Flash is dying, they switched over to HTML5, and this meant that many of the maps have changed, which is the primary change. There are a lot of routing changes (with each map now mostly having fleet comps that will guarantee you go to the boss, although those are often CL and DD heavy). Almost all the previous leveling locations like 1-5 and 3-2 are gone, either because the EXP you got was nerfed or, in the case of 1-5, they made it significantly harder. There is a good leveling spot in 5-3 but...the route involves a double night battle. 2-3 quest farming, also known as Orel Cruising, is effectively dead. Not only are there now Late Model DDs with good ASW in fleets, but they also removed two of the transport nodes with resource drops and blanks, meaning its not really good. 2-2 and 2-1 are both good for the same purpose, however, so it's not a huge deal. There are also a bunch of new mechanics I really haven't gotten to explore all that much, like Abyssal Combined Fleets, Land-Based Aerial Support etc. There's more of an introduction later on. Right now, I'm working on clearing through all the main story maps, because once they were refreshed and changed, it meant that progress was lost. Currently, I'm completely done with Worlds 1-3, almost beaten World 4 (currently doing 4-5 runs), and have beaten 5-1 and 7-1 (which you need to do to unlock 4-5 and 4-2 respectively). I honestly expected I would bore of KanColle and drop it after playing it for a few days, but I'm still going strong so, yay.
