Louise grimaced as the torrent of water roared over the entire battlefield, putting ever bit of strength she could muster into her horn-jaws in attempt to maintain her hold on solid ground. The sheer amount of effort needed to withstand the flow was immense, but the eternal-seeming moments of resisting the flow eventually came to an end with the mawile still thankfully on Terra Firma.

What was with this archipelago and constant massive disasters as of late? The drednaw shook many of its opponents to their cores with both its immense power and frigid cold it spread in its wake, a turtonator had apparently marred the landscape into the charred mess it is now, and now a massive tidal wave's coming out of actual nowhere so suddenly that even the Dynamax dragapult had no idea it was coming? Maybe she was missing something due to her months of absence, but none of the other Power Spots seemed to be anywhere near this volatile!

As everyone took a moment to gather themselves, it quickly became apparent that not everyone had managed to hold out against nature's wrath. Considering the losses, the Deceiver Pokemon couldn't help but be impressed that the eevee had managed to hang around. That feeling quickly gave way to panic when she noticed that the Trainers were somehow affected by this tragedy as well- and Chroma was not among the ones who were still in the "safe" area! 'Nonono, don't tell me she got washed away! I just got back to her!'

"Don't worry about me, Louise!" called a girl's voice from above, prompting the mawile to look toward the skies. It seemed that Legere was levitating the Trainer high above everyone else, so she was out of the mini-tsunami's reach the entire time. "Let's just focus on expelling this salamander so we can get out of here before another of those waves shows up!"

With the safety of those important to her secured, the Raider turned her attention back to their gargantuan foe and prepared to execute her next order, as predictable as it may be. "Now, let's hit 'em with another Play Rough (90 BP!)"

With the gym leader having vanished and their numbers greatly diminished, the raiders push forth with all their strength to try and put down the weary Dragapult before it can finish the job. Drapion blasts the ghost with his Dark Pulse, amplified by the rejuvenated Eevee's support while the Mawile slams forth with a powerful Play Rough...but it isn't enough as the raid boss hovers there, menacingly yet still furious. With immense killing intent, it rushes forth to end the battle there and then!

Fortunately, its blind assault causes it to slam into the Mawile whose fey roots nullify the Outrage, though the same failed assault catches Eevee, hitting the normal type hard. With its fury prematurely quelled, the dragon turns to the fox and unleashes a devastating Max Wyrmwind upon the evolution pokemon, leaving the poor critter barely standing, at this point knowing defeat is in the air and going out of its way to bully the youngster. Dragapult then follows up by blowing Eevee into the cliffs with a Hydro Pump, one that also buffets the Mawile leaving her the worse for wear, and as the poor pokemon lies sodden and motionless at the foot of the rocks, barely breathing, a pair of flashes emerge from the corner of the two standing pokemon's eyes revealing the Sableye and Tyranitar, both glaring daggers at the Dragapult as its reflect fades away. Lessons would have to be taught, it seems...

Dynamax Initiative: MM, Drapion
  • Trainers may only list 1 order per round. They are also permitted to using 1 item in lieu of an attack.
  • Dynamax Initiative will select a trainer at random. If a trainer has initiative, they may choose to Dynamax their Pokemon for a duration of 3 turns. Dynamaxed Pokemon may only select a Max Attack of a corresponding type from their registered moveset, or Max Guard in place of status moves.
  • If a hold item or ability’s effect is activated in the present round as a result of the previous round’s damage calculation or the present round’s orders, please state it clearly in your response.
  • If a trainer’s Pokemon is rendered unconscious, they may choose to cheer on their allies; opting to either remove one shield from the raid boss or healing one ally’s Pokemon by 50% of their max health.
  • Roleplaying your orders is optional, but $250 may be collected for responses of 250 words or greater, and Bond will accumulate only for the trainer’s active Pokemon in battle.
  • You have until Wednesday, June 23rd to place your order.

The Masterses' assessment of the situation proved to be very astute indeed- any attempts at a search and rescue were almost certain to prove impossible when those who hadn't been washed away still had an irate, if not murderous, Dynamaxed Dragapult to contend with. The Stealth Pokémon was attacking relentlessly, and the poor Eevee had gotten hit by everything Dragapult had thrown their way this time. In fact, that and the Mawile seemed to have been the only targets of the Dragapult this time around- it wanted them out of the picture, no doubt, though it had at least failed to reckon with Mawile's immunity to Dragon attacks when attempting that Outrage, which was something of a relief. Not a great relief, all things considered, but better than there being no upside to this whatsoever.

Even so, the onslaught as a whole was more than the Eevee could take, and down it went following a fierce, high-pressure Hydro Pump (that also sent aforementioned Mawile flying), though at that point, the Sableye and Tyranitar got right back into the fray. Things were still looking up despite all that had happened, and right now, Dragapult, for as angry as it was, was unquestionably weakening. They hadn't finished it off with this round of attacks as they had undoubtedly been hoping for, but they certainly seemed to have come close, at least.

With the urgency of the situation at hand, however, this was small comfort to the gathered Trainers for reasons entirely unrelated to the Dragapult itself. "We gotta finish it off, fast!" Maribel was saying. "Then we can help look for those poor people!"

"Agreed completely, sweetie," Keith nodded. "And hopefully this won't take too much longer," he added, eyeing the weakened Dragapult with feelings of hope.

"Indeed," nodded Willa. "So what are we waiting for?" she added. "If we are indeed about to finish this off, then what say we give the command as a family? Scorpius knows to listen to any one of us, after all, non?"

"That he does indeed," Keith nodded. "All together, then," he added.

And as one, the family took a deep breath. "Now, Scorpius- Dark Pulse!!" they cried out in unison. They smiled at each other following this, glad to know that they had each been thinking the exact same move, with no need for prior planning. A mark of how skilled the whole family was when it came to Pokémon fights, as well as just how well they knew Keith's Drapion. Normally, Keith might have made an argument for letting Scorpius finish this in style, by using Flamethrower, which the Drapion considered his special attack, but this was an emergency, and all present knew that a more practical approach was what was needed here.

"Dooooo...RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!" Scorpius bellowed, letting loose a repeat performance of his latest move, intent on this being the straw that would break the Numel's back. If he couldn't let loose his special attack here, then at the very least he hoped he could be the one to deliver the finishing blow.

OOC: Scorpius used Dark Pulse (80 BP; user is holding Black Glasses)

Hard Mode Dynamax Boss Dragapult

A couple more attacks are all that's needed to force the Dragapult into the drink with a strained cry, the dynamax energy escaping the creature as it shrinks back down and lands with a splosh. There was little celebratory mood though given the circumstances: the gym leader and two other trainers had been swept away to unknown places by a tsunami, and as the dragon hightails it out of there using its signature speed to get well out of dodge, one of the group spots a small treasure trove hidden roughly where the former gym leader stood. No sooner do they approach however that tremors begin, the interior of the blue hole rippling ominously, and a sense of great dread and impending doom falls over the group.

Immediately agreeing to take the goods and split like an Arbok's tongue, the group begins to coast away on a nearby vessel as a tremendous blast of water shoots up from the heart of the gym, revealing what could only be described accurately as the namesake of Typhon's Depths.

Spoiler: show

The beast leers at its surroundings, at the damage the Power Spot has done over the months, and with a great wail of anger causes a veritable maelstrom to burst to life, a supermassive whirlpool in the centre of the gym tearing and shredding the damaged atoll to the awe of the onlookers. Typhon's Depths was all but certain to return to whence they came, and the legendary beast's outburst would soon cool off, but one thing's for certain: this was one fight our exhausted raiders would absolutely not wish to contend with.

For their part in defeating the Hard Mode Raid Boss Dragapult, the raiders are awarded the following:

Dynamax Initiative: MM, Drapion
  • x40 Watts
  • x1 TR Dragon Pulse
  • x1 Ghost Ball
  • x1 Dragon Ball
  • x2 Haban Berries
  • x1 Kasib Berry
  • +5 levels, +6 if above level 60, 5 Candies if level 100.

With the final onslaught, Dragapult was finally forced to stop. Possessing considerably higher intelligence than the average raid boss, it was only natural that it realized that its shrinking back down to normal size was a sign that it had lost, and that the time had come for it to flee like a beast of Johtonian legend. "All right," Keith exhaled. "Let's get back on the ship and start looking for-"

"Dad, look!" Maribel interrupted, pointing to a pile of items. It was located pretty much where Gary had been standing, and Keith was taken aback by this- he had not noticed those there! Even if the Gym Leader did have them on his person, how did the tidal wave not wash them away along with him? But before he could even think any more about this, there came tremors. Ominous ripples on the water's surface. And a sense of impending doom in the hearts of all present.

"...oh, what's that?" Willa murmured.

"Draaap..." murmured Scorpius.

"I dunno, but I don't like it," Keith frowned as he withdrew his Drapion. "OK, everybody!" he called out, raising his voice so the others could hear. "I'm thinking we should get out of here, and fast, so everyone come aboard!" he declared, gesturing to the Banette's Revenge. Willa was the first to board. Maribel came shortly after, having stopped to gather for Keith his fair share of the loot from the pile of goodies while Keith had been addressing the other raiders. Keith himself was the last one on board as he made sure nobody was left behind, and just as he himself boarded, the source of the ominous tremors made itself known in a big way. "...Arceus, Mew, and Helix!" he exclaimed as none other than the legendary Lugia itself emerged from the depths.

Maribel took out her Rotom Phone from where she stood on the Banette's Revenge's deck. "OK, Rotom- who's that Pokémon?" she called out, making herself heard over the noise the sea was now making.

"Lugia, the Diving Pokémon. A Psychic and Flying-type," responded Rotom. "Lugia is said to be the guardian of the seas, and can destroy houses with the wind it whips up with a light fluttering of its wings. That being the case, WHAT THE HELL ARE WE STILL DOING HERE?!?!"

"Rotom's got a point, for once!" Keith declared, making his way up to the helm. With the anchor hauled in, the Banette's Revenge was ready to move! As Lugia's rage manifested in a mighty maelstrom that threatened to consume and destroy the entirety of the Gym, Keith turned the wheel and got his ship moving, determinedly steering and navigating through the choppy waters, not daring to let his guard down until they were in calmer waters, and Lugia was far behind them. Then and only then did Keith make it his priority to get the other Trainers safely to shore. Much as he wanted to aid with the search and rescue of the missing people, he had a sinking feeling this wouldn't be possible until Lugia calmed down, and who knew how long that would take...

*Obtained 40 Watts!*

*Keith obtained a TR62 Dragon Pulse!*

*Obtained the Ghost Ball!*

*Obtained the Dragon Ball!*

*Obtained 2 Haban Berries!*

*Obtained the Kasib Berry!*

*Scorpius was elevated to level 72!*

Using my TR on my Dracovish.

*Dracovish learned Dragon Pulse!*
