Dynamax Boss Duosion ★★★ Health Gauge: 55% Shields Up: 3 Status: N/A Attack 1: Max Shockwave (0 BP) Attack 2: Thunder (110 BP) Attack 3: Recover (0 BP) Raid Challengers:
The raiders blast the goo baby all the way to its second shields, and its had enough with all of the damage and debuffs its getting. It uses a Max Shockwave to even the playing fiend. It then sends out a Thunder, dealing a good amount of damage to the Honedge. Then, realizing that the raiders will try to just delete it, it heals up a massive chunk of its health with Recover. Dynamax Initiative: myahoo, Houndour

More attacks from the raider group pressured the Duosion even more, pushing it to its second set of shields, and then smashing through most of them right away. The allied Houndour, who had previously Dynamaxed, was leading the charge in shield breaking, to leave the Duosion vulnerable as quickly as possible.
As predicted, the Duosion called upon the storm to create a max shockwave, clearing the boosts it had inadvertently caused and nullifying the abilities in play, mainly Spewpa's powerful Friend Guard and the Defiant duo. Stripped of the protection of Spewpa's Friend Guard, the allied Honedge, who had been as of yet untouched, got slammed hard with a massive bolt of Thunder. Rather than further capitalising on this opening, the Duosion then encased itself in a glowing aura, Recovering a bit of health. Once that round of barriers had been broken through, it would probably be a fairly straightforward shot from there to victory. The shields, which could be a major problem at times, seemed to be more of a speed bump than anything in this situation. Generally, once both rounds of shields had been dealt away with, it was all downhill from there, a snowballing effect. That would almost certainly hold true for this situation as well, becoming easier than even the quite easy beginning of the raid. Without some of their better abilities on hand to help combat the giant goo monster, however, it could still prove tricky, if it made full use of its interesting movepool. However, that might cause it to lose its opportunity to deal the needed damage to take the raiders on. Most of the raiders were still in fine shape, with few having taken much damage at this juncture. It was pretty one-sided thus far, all said. The likelihood of the party not succeeding this raid before the Dynamax energies went out of control was very low. Still, it wouldn't serve to be too cocky on that subject. The raiding party Pokemon could still get hurt, and PJ didn't want to see them come to any unnecessary harm any more than he wanted the local people and Pokemon to. And the more things were drawn out, the more the Duosion would likely get hurt. He didn't want that, either. He wanted to help the encounter to end as quickly as he could. It was just overall better for everyone involved if he did so. "Now, Spewpa, I know this may come as a surprise, but I want you to use Pollen Puff on the Duosion again," PJ called out. Pushing ever forward. OoC: Pollen Puff (90 BP) Last edited by Slash; 10-13-2021 at 11:45 PM. |

They shot through the barriers with ease, and then proceeded to deal some very heavy blows to the raid boss itself, capitalising on its more vulnerable defenses. The Houndour's final Max Darkness only led to assist with that sheer force of damage.
Even without the protective aura provided by Spewpa, his Friend Guard still being nullified, the Max Lightning the Duosion sent at one of the Pawniard was tanked extremely well. The field was charged with electricity afterwards, which would cause the terrain to power up all Electric moves used on it. Such as the Thunder it sent streaking across the field at that very same Pawniard, who still managed to survive the hit, and come out of it without paralysis. Terrain in play, it followed up by absolutely destroying the terrain in place, in a strange move PJ had rarely seen before, Steel Roller. Powerful but extremely situational, it could also be used on active terrain, and would obliterate the current terrain, dealing a massive blow... again to that very same Pawniard, who again took the hit without falling. Quite the champ, that one. The boss was clearly on its last legs here, and it was pretty clear that only a few small hits would be all it would take to finish this off. That was good. It would be over soon, and all would be safe. The boss would fall, and calmed down, and those around would no longer be in danger of the rampage. "Keep going, Spewpa! Shoot off another Pollen Puff!" PJ shouted out. "This should be our last one." OoC: Pollen Puff (90 BP) Last edited by Slash; 10-14-2021 at 12:15 AM. |

Dynamax Boss Duosion ★★★ Health Gauge: 0% Shields Up: 0 Status: Raid Challengers:
With the last few attacks (and a critical hit on the Pawniard's part), the Duosion is completely enveloped in darkness. The fog then swirls around the cell, wrapping it up as it shrinks back to normal size. The last image the raiders see is the Duosion's sleeping face as it fades into the fog. Dynamax Initiative: Expired

It only took three blows. Spewpa's Pollen Puff, followed by a couple strong Dark Pulses, one of which seemed to would the Duosion especially critically, were enough to knock the remaining Dynamax energy out of its system. The explosion signifying the fight's end went off, and the Duosion shrank back down to its normal size, no longer burdened with the overflow of max energies and the accompanying madness. This was always curious to PJ. Why did the Dynama energies overwhelm a Pokemon near the power spots? Why did they explode when the energies were depleted? Why... a lot of things. Maybe he'd be able to look into all of that. "Return, Spewpa," PJ pulled out the Pokemon's Ball and hit him with the recall beam. "You did really well, boy. I think you've earned a name from this crusade here. You proved yourself quite strong and resilient, and you clearly fight for your friends." PJ pondered on it for a second, as the Gym Leader started to distribute rewards to the raiders for their service. "Hm... I like 'Ike'. From now on, Spewpa, your name shall be Ike. It just feels fitting." He was starting to understand what his uncle said sometimes, about how sometimes, a Pokemon's name will become clear after time. The name just felt right in the moment. He hadn't come up with it so much as it just kinda came to him. This Spewpa was most definitely Ike. PJ collected his reward for a job well done, and, with a nod from Lemon, departed the Gym. There were the customary Berries, Payapas in this case, as well as a Technical Record for the move Future Sight. A pretty good move to have in a Pokemon's arsenal, though he was unsure of that exactly he would do with it. He wasn't sure what he'd do with it, what Pokemon he might teach it to, but there were many options he could go with, and he was sure whatever choice he made with it, it would be the right choice for the moment. It would be hard for him to make a wrong choice with such a move. OoC: Collecting 40 Watts TR Future Sight 3 Payapa Berries Spewpa has gone from level 9 to level 15 |
