Rapidash uses one last insect-fueled Max Flutterby to shatter the remaining shields, and lowering Zoroark’s defenses again in the process. The raiders capitalize with a series of attacks that do substantial damage to the Illusionist. Sandshrew’s icy momentum comes to an end, however, when it unfortunately finds itself on the receiving end of both an ominous Max Darkness, followed up with more pulsating darkness. The Ice mouse falls, bringing the KO count to 3. Zoroark is showing signs of exhaustion, but the raiders are pushed to the brink as well. Which side will emerge victorious? Hugo claps his hands in appreciation of the battle, sending shooting pains through his dislocated shoulder and he falls to the ground and weeps openly.

Cheering to heal Qilin the Rapidash

Drake was correct that everyone would unleash hell upon the Zoroark after its shields fell, it was quite surprising at how fast everyone acted. Drake then heard the gym leader fall to the floor and start to weep, apparently, his medical insurance didn't cover injuries sustained by Dynamax pokemon.

That was odd that this world actually had levels of medical insurance instead of having universally covered medical insurance that quite literally took care of everything... but then again this world was still young and Drake was told by his parents that when they were little children his home once had the same thing. Pathetic.

Drake remembered when the public started to riot in fear after wanting the world governments to track and capture Manaphy and Kyorge to in turn be able to control these gargantuan beasts. That failed by the way. Both the captures and the controlling.
Kyorge actually died struggling to regain freedom after being captured ( Its attempts did take many lives in the process as well ) Manaphy couldn't be found at all. Despite colonies upon colonies of Phione being documented, not once was a Manaphy ever found. This led his world to believe that Manaphy as a species was among the many pixie legendaries to go extinct.

Once news of this spread, People from all shades of intention began to seek out the other pixie and minor legendaries to discover that they almost all vanished mysteriously. This led to further unrest and rioting within the cities of the regions across the world.

Nuzzle lunged, pummeling Zoroark with great force. Going off size alone, it didn't look too particularly impressive, but size, as was so often the case in the world of Pokémon, didn't mean shit here. Underneath that ragged, thoroughly unconvincing Pikachu costume was a fearsome, formidable creature, one not to be taken lightly by any stretch of the imagination. Mimikyu were no pushovers, and when she wasn't grappling with her self-esteem issues, Nuzzle was no exception. Zoroark was on the receiving end of nothing less than powerful, super effective fury.

Alas, this was not enough to fell the Zoroark. Worse still, it went and vented its frustrations on a single target yet again, though this time it was not Nuzzle- rather, the Alolan Sandshrew, whose Ice Ball had been steadily building up more and more power, found itself on the business end of Zoroark's wrath. A forceful Max Darkness, followed by a relatively less forceful Dark Pulse, and the Ice/Steel-type was knocked clean out.

No words were spoken as Nuzzle and Terri exchanged looks. As upset as Nuzzle was about being singled out and picked on by Zoroark, she looked just as displeased that the Sandshrew was getting picked on now- even if Zoroark was easing up on her, simply changing targets was not what she had in mind! And Terri simply gave a nod- she and Nuzzle both knew that the same move they'd been using this whole time was the way to go, after all. And so after this, Nuzzle charged in after the others have had their say, aiming to finish Zoroark off once and for all.

The battle has reached a fevered pitch! Though Sandshrew had been derailed in the last round, its trainer releases a raucous cheer, giving Rapidash an extra boost to carry it across the finish line! The fire horse launches at Zoroark with a Megahorn, doing substantial damage, and Sizzlipede and Mimikyu follow up with another X-Scissor and Play Rough respectively…but the Illusionist hangs on! Zoroark manages to stay upright, but just barely…and it fires off another Max Darkness which hits Mimikyu…but it’s Disguise absorbs the brunt of the blow and breaks! What a stroke of luck for the Raiders. Cheers echo through the gymnasium, and a frustrated Zoroark strikes in retaliation by shutting Mimikyu up with a nasty Throat Chop. How petty. Hugo asks if anyone knows a good surgeon, ophthalmologist, orthopedist, and proctologist. The end is almost near!

...nope! That latest assault still wasn't enough, and Zoroark was still standing! Decidedly not by much, however- Zoroark was very clearly on its last few hit points. But it wasn't going down so easily- without its newest target around to bully, its eyes turned once again to the Mimikyu. It was a mean mon on a mean mission, and for reasons nobody present could fathom, it seemed intent on making Nuzzle's life hell as much as it could. And nothing would deter it- no amount of other potential targets for it, no intervention from any Trainers, no random number generator, nothing.

But Nuzzle wasn't about to take this lying down. You know how a Mimikyu's eyes just gleam almost creepily through their disguise's eye holes when they're using Shadow Claw, or when they're just plain pissed? Nuzzle's eyes were doing that right now. Without waiting for anyone, without waiting for her allies, or even for a command from her Trainer, Nuzzle lunged again. In came the Max Darkness, but Nuzzle didn't even feel it- the head on her Disguise now hung limply behind her as she continued her charge, but the Max Move hadn't even slowed her down. And next came the Throat Chop- despite nobody really knowing for sure where a Mimikyu's throat might be, Zoroark seemed intent on finding out and striking it to shut her up. And while the attack hit its mark, Nuzzle was well beyond the point of being deterred. Lashing out with shadowy arms, she grabbed hold of the gargantuan clawed paw that had struck her, and scrambled up the Zoroark, preparing to deliver the most unpleasant Play Rough this thing will have ever taken in its life.

The other Trainers and Pokémon hadn't even had time to act here- Nuzzle had done this solo. It was her Play Rough that felled Zoroark once and for all, and as the Illusion Fox Pokémon, shrunk back down to size, stood there with a sad, angry look, Nuzzle stood before it defiantly. "Get. Out," the Mimikyu said simply yet firmly.

With not a word to anyone, but a vengeful look to the Gym Leader, Zoroark fled at last. Terri walked up to her Mimikyu. "I'm very proud, Nuzzle- you battled bravely," smiled Terri.

"Thank you," Nuzzle replied. "I... I don't like that Zoroark, though," she added. "Nothing but a bully. Kept attacking me specifically. As though I... as... as if I didn't deserve to..." She shook her head- her real one, not the limply dangling Pikachu one. Which made that one shake as well, actually. "...but I know better, I know I have more worth than that," she continued determinedly. "Terri, you helped teach me that," she said gratefully.

Terri scooped Nuzzle up in her arms. "I'm happy you realize this," she smiled. "I do hope the Gym Leader will be all right, though," she added, glancing over at Hugo, who was passing out rewards in spite of what appeared to be grievous injuries. "Zoroark didn't take it very easy on him, either."

"Nor will it when it returns, and judging by the look it gave him before fleeing, it most certainly will," Nuzzle added grimly.

"Well, I'm sure he'll be able to prepare for that eventuality," Terri nodded. "In the meantime... let's get our rewards and go home. I'm sure you'll want to tell Crabbe about your day?" she added with a small smile, and although she couldn't tell at all through the cloth, she just knew that underneath the unconvincing Pikachu costume, Nuzzle was blushing at least somewhat at the prospect of recounting this tale to her boyfriend.

Drake didn't even have enough time to command Qilin to strike once more before the mimikyu finished the Zoroark off, causing its Dynamax energy to wear off. Returned back to its normal size, it stared murderously at the gym leader before scampering off away.

Drake gave Qilin a lovely treat of carrots and as his Rapidash was happily munching, Drake took his rewards from the gym leader and stowed them away within his bag. Drake then noted that Qilin grew pretty rapidly, He was documented to be level 54 at the start of this raid, but now he was at level 60 evenly. That was actually quite good. Qilin was starting to become as strong as Wolfe and Luna. Drake was proud and continued to show it to Qilin by spoiling him with face rubs and carrots and apple treats.

He then returned Qilin to his Pokeball and set back home to Gateway Base.

Drake let Qilin back out of his Pokeball upon the hill and stood by his steed as they watched the sunset down, Drake could feel within his gut and soul that he and his Rapidash were closer than ever before because he once had to wear fireproof clothing around this rapidash, but now he could freely touch and pet the horse anywhere there was open flames, and instead of suffering searing burns and pain, he felt a warmth that tickled at his skin. Pokemon were truly an amazing thing about both this world and his homeworld. Drake was glad he could experience both.
