Selene watched as the other raiders’ Pokemon went to work, breaking the shields one by one. Cornered, the Rillaboom lashed out with powerful attacks, but was only able to fell the Dusknoir. She felt a twinge of guilt at the sight; had she chosen to heal the Gripper Pokemon instead of shattering a shield, it might have survived the round. But it was too late to fuss over that now, the heat of battle giving away to an uneasy lull. The gorilla began to settle into a more somber tune now that the odds appeared to be more stacked against him, his glittering shields no more. Rather than strike the drums with rousing gusto, the Drumming Pokemon hammered with a slow, melancholious beat, a tune that carried an ominous undertone--this gorilla would certainly fight to the finish. However, despite the sober song and the foreboding signal it sent, Selene couldn’t help but smirk when she felt the Aether Ball in her right hand wiggle. She tossed the white and yellow Pokeball into the air, watching as her Kecleon burst forth with a dramatic twirl, her scales shifting in color rapidly, before giving an awkward curtsy once she landed. Prism then turned, her scales now a deep scarlet in color, and glared as fiercely as she could--which wasn’t that fierce at all--up at the giant Rillaboom, intent on letting him know how displeased she was with him knocking her out twice. Selene giggled to herself, before hiding the chink in her armor with a cough. “They may say that doing the same thing over and over is insanity, but right now I think it’s our best option. Flamethrower, again!” Flamethrower (90 BP) with 10% burn chance. Protean: Normal —> Fire

Since it's time to go all-out, Staravia will do just that! Which is...continuing Acrobatics (110 BP because no item is held) spam, and hoping we get Rillaboom as close to KO'd as we can.

Terri gave a satisfied smile as the last of the Dynamax Energy flooded out of the Fairy Ball in her hand, at which point she threw it forth. "Once more! Perform, engage!" she exclaimed.
And in a flash of light, Terri's Normal Form Mr. Mime materialized, fully healed, taking a deep bow as uproarious applause sounded all around him from seemingly nowhere. "THANK YOU, THANK YOU! YES, INDEED! I, PERFORM, THE LOUD MIME, HAVE RETURNED!!!" he boomed, before turning a smug look to the Gigantamax Rillaboom. "OH, YOU, NOW!" he declared. "YOU DO NOT BEST THE LOUD MIME SO EASILY, AS YOU'LL SOON FIND OUT!" he declared. "That's telling 'em, Perform!" smiled Terri. "Now use Aerial-" "BY THE HORNS OF XERNEAS, WAIT!!!" interrupted Perform. "HUMAN TERRI, LOOK!" he declared, with a dramatic flourish in the direction of Jake's Staravia, who was in the process of attacking. "ACROBATICS! HUMAN TERRI, WHY, WITH MY COMPLETE LACK OF THE BURDEN THAT IS A HELD ITEM, THAT MOVE WOULD FAR SURPASS THE STRENGTH OF MY AERIAL ACE!" "It would," agreed Terri. "But how- oh. Oh!" she gasped, suddenly realizing exactly what the Psychic/Fairy-type was suggesting they do here. "Of course! Perform, use Copycat!" "AND AWAAAAY WE GO!" Perform declared, his eyes gleaming brightly; anyone looking into them would see the reflection of Jake's Staravia attacking using Acrobatics. Not that anyone would get that good a look, for Perform began performing a series of rapid backflips in Rillaboom's direction, preparing to land a powerful blow himself. OOC: Perform used Copycat (0 BP; last move used was Zorchic's Staravia's Acrobatics (110 BP; user isn't holding an item)). Last edited by Missingno. Master; 12-17-2020 at 07:16 PM. Raid Boss Rillaboom ★★★★★ Health Gauge: 3% Shields Up: 0 Status: Def -1, Sp. Def -1 KOs: 7 Trainer Recovery Summary Sniz, Dusknoir: Cheer Lit, Raichu: 337 HP Raid Boss Attack Summary Attack 1: Frenzy Plant (150 BP) MM, Mr. Mime: 0 HP Attack 2: Leaf Storm (130 BP) Lit, Raichu: 44 HP Attack 3: Earthquake (100 BP) Lit, Raichu: 0 HP Raid Challengers MM, Mr. Mime: 0 HP [Must sit out one round until fully recovered] Lit, Raichu: 0 HP [Must sit out one round until fully recovered] Zorchic, Staravia: 260 HP SpinyShell, Kecleon: 300 HP [Fully recovered] Gary, Tropius: 209 HP Sniz, Dusknoir: 400 HP [Fully recovered] Yuki, Delibird: 500 HP Emp, Salandit: 0 HP [Must sit out one round until fully recovered] Sensing blood in the water, the gathered trainers give decisive, brutal orders. Rillaboom can do little but screech under the unburdened collective, as each raiding Pokemon unleashes their own violent blow. Perform, ever the trickster, mimics the movements of Staravia, deftly bobbing and weaving before raking a slicing kick to the ankle of the enlarged behemoth. Detox, sensing he may not be long for the world, expends an immense flame to severely singe the leafy fur of Rillaboom, but as the devastation wanes, the gorilla seeks one final moment of retaliation. Perform is obliterated by empowered vines, and while Lucas manages to hang on - just barely - after the Leaf Storm, the following Earthquake puts both himself and Detox back into their Poke Balls. Dynamax initiative: Expired

Raid Boss Rillaboom ★★★★★ Health Gauge: 0% Shields Up: 0 Status: N/A KOs: 7 With Rillaboom on his final legs, Custard does something strange. Reaching into their tail, the Delibird produces a small pink box with a pleasant blue bow on top, throwing it towards Rillaboom. The gorilla is taken aback - but the trick is soon revealed. Without warning, the present glows with an orange light, exploding violently as it strikes the chest of the ape. Hissing disapproval, Rillaboom turns towards Custard, only to be met with the swinging neck of Coco. As the Tropius collides with their target, Rillaboom erupts with Dynamax energy, shrieking in disdain as he shrinks back to his normal size. With a snarky huff, the Grass type escapes into the surrounding forest. For their efforts in defeating the Dynamax Raid Boss Gigantamax Rillaboom, the trainers are awarded the following:

The last round had driven the Rillaboom to the brink, the gorilla’s once vibrant leafy pelt singed and burnt, torn and thrashed, ruined in all manner of ways. He slumped over his drums, too drained of energy to even muster a few taps of his drumsticks and, instead glared down at the raiders in an uneasy silence. It wouldn’t take much to topple him in this state, but he certainly wouldn’t go down without fighting to the bitter end. And fight he did, tearing into the Mr. Mime with another Frenzy Plant before devastating the Raichu and Salandit with a rumbling Earthquake, the two unfortunate Pokemon knocked unconscious by the blows. After the dust cleared, two trainers shouted out to their Pokemon, the woman with the Delibird and a man with a Tropius in front of him, eager to finish the battle before the Rillaboom could take out any more Pokemon. The Delibird pulled a pink and blue box from out of his tail, a gift for the gorilla it seemed. Seeing this as a peace offering, the ape lifted it up only to be betrayed, the box glowing a shining orange before exploding violently, knocking him back. Before the Rillaboom could even recover, the Tropius charged, slamming its glowing blue neck into him. A tense moment passed, and then the Rillaboom pulsed with Dynamax energy and collapsed before Selene could even give her own command, shrinking down in size as he howled in rage and frustration. Giving the raiders one last glare and a huff, he grabbed his drums and ran off into the forest. Collecting these. Thanks everyone. Prism: lvl. 19 —(+5)—> lvl. 24

What concerned Terri even moreso was the fact that the Gigantamax Rillaboom was getting worn down, and fast. Faster, she realized, than it would take for Perform to heal up fully. Faster than she'd have expected, in fact- almost as though the universe had chosen a particularly inopportune time to try and speed things along despite her inability to act just as quickly at the moment. How frustrating such moments can be. As Terri had expected, Rillaboom had been finished off by the time the last traces of Dynamax Energy flooded out of the Fairy Ball, and by the time Perform predictably exploded from said ball, Rillaboom was long gone. Having looked around and not seen Rillaboom anywhere, Perform was visibly (and audibly) agitated. "BY THE HORNS OF XERNEAS, WHERE IS THAT GARGANTUAN, GRUNGEY, GREENERY-GLUTTED GORILLA!?!?!?" he demanded. "Gone," Terri said simply. "The battle's over, Perform- the others finished it up while you were healing." "GAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!" screamed the Loud Mime. He angrily kicked seemingly nothing, resulting in a loud clanking noise followed by a distant explosion. "THE ABSOLUTE INDIGNITY AND DISGRACE!!!" "Come now, Perform, you still contributed to this victory-" began Terri. "IT ISN'T THAT, HUMAN TERRI!" interrupted Perform. "DON'T YOU SEE? THE LAST THING I SAID TO THAT SMUG SIMIAN WAS THAT I COULD NOT BE SO EASILY FELLED! AND THEN IT PROCEEDED TO ONE-HIT KO ME, AND THEN GO DOWN BEFORE I COULD EVEN LAND ANOTHER BLOW ON IT! THIS MAY BE A VICTORY IN THE TRADITIONAL SENSE, BUT I GUARANTEE YOU, RILLABOOM ALMOST CERTAINLY SEES THIS AS A WIN ON ITS END!" Terri placed a hand on the Psychic/Fairy-type's shoulder. "You didn't deserve that," she stated simply. "And I feel like part of the blame is mine- had I helped you train even more, perhaps you could have stood up to that Frenzy Plant." "...IT WOULD BE WRONG OF ME TO ALLOW YOU TO SHARE THE BLAME," Perform murmured loudly. "FOR I CONTINUE TO HOLD YOUR TRAINING CAPABILITIES IN THE HIGHEST OF ESTEEM, HUMAN TERRI! MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT THAT!" Terri smiled. "And I still have absolute faith in your capabilities in battle, Perform," she stated. "Make no mistake about that." Perform grinned. "I THANK YOU, HUMAN TERRI!" he declared. "ALREADY I AM FEELING SO MUCH BETTER!" "I'm glad," smiled Terri. "And if ever we have to face off against that Rillaboom again, let's make sure you're even more ready, OK?" "AGREED!" declared Perform, before hopping onto what appeared, especially by way of the sudden noises it started making, to be an invisible motorcycle. "NOW HOP ON! I BELIEVE IT IS TIME WE WENT HOME!" And as Terri climbed onto said invisible motorcycle, Perform revved the engine noisily, and off to home they went. *Obtained 50 Watts!* *Terri obtained a TR65 Energy Ball!* *Obtained 3 Rindo Berries!* *Perform was elevated to level 28!* *Perform learned Recycle!* *Perform learned Psybeam!* |
