This might be a controversial statement but if you're buying it for both versions you're probably an idiot.

I for one am hype af. Especially since signs are pointing towards Galarian Slowbro and/or Slowking being Psychic/Poison, which would be our very first instance of that type combo. Anyway, I never had an issue with third versions personally, though I suppose the concept is a bit dated now, so I'm willing to roll with this (already preordered the one for Shield!).
Also, calling it right now- they'll introduce a Purple Apricorn that can be turned into the Dream Ball. |

That said, third versions weren't DLC like some people lazily claim, because you could skip RS or DP and skip straight to Emerald and Platinum for a better experience. Even USUM, which were basically remakes, allowed skipping SM. That can'e be done in Generation VIII.

Apparently, "Flip Turn" is a Water-type switching move like U-Turn. The French translation is "Eau Revoir", a pun on "Au Revoir" with "Eau" meaning "water". And a Flip Turn is where you change direction while swimming.
I think GameFreak should retire from game balancing. Gen VIII is awful, lolz.

Dual Wingbeat makes me think of Yanmega. Maybe it's returning and getting a signature move?
Misty Explosion, Grassy Glide, and Rising Voltage come off like attacks that have the side effect of setting terrain to me, but if that's the case, where's there such a move for Psychic Terrain? Skitter Smack makes me think of Wimpod. Wicked Blow and Surging Strikes are almost certainly for Urshifu, and we already know of Jungle Healing for Zarude, of course. Corrosive Gas has my attention. Maybe it's like Poison Gas but with the effects of the Corrosion Ability built in so it works even on Poison and Steel-types? Terrain Pulse has got to be like Weather Ball but for the terrain, and if that's the case, and I'm able to, I'm absolutely teaching that to my Shiny Eevee in FB. Meteor Beam- another special Rock move, maybe? I feel like Coaching might be a more widely distributed version of Instruct. Either that or something to power up one's ally in double battles. Either way, pretty confident it's for doubles. |

Keep in mind that the reveal video for the DLC mentioned the new Move Tutors in such a fashion that it implied that the moves themselves were new, so a good few of these are more likely to not be Signature Attacks. In that light, this list is actually kinda impressive in its length? The only other time we saw such a massive number of new attacks added mid-Generation was Gale of Darkness, and none of those moves are in use anymore. Seems promising enough to me.
Scale Shot is one move I'm curious about, actually. So far the Powder moves have been used to represent moth and butterfly scales in most cases (the only other move I know that uses them is Silver Wind), so I'm curious as to whether or not this'll be able to affect Grasse Types. In any case, I'd be surprised if kommo-o doesn't get it. My thought regarding the supposed Terrain Moves is that they be leaving Psychic Terrain out because it's not of the original batch. Where Tapu Koko, Bulu, and Fini are mechanically built around their respective Terrains, Psychic Terrain had to be built around Tapu Lele. Of course, the in universe answer might just be that the situation is too bizarre to properly build a new technique off of quite yet... Burning Jealousy seems... curious. Is a Ghost-Type move, or a Fire one that is learned primarily by Ghosts ala Will-o-Wisp? Is it Spite tacked onto a spot of damage, or something else entirely? Will the ralts line be able to learn it since they're practically honorable Ghosts with their movepools as it is? I've got nothing but questions for this one. Scorching Sands sounds like it might be competitively viable, since its name makes it seem like a Ground-Typed Scald clone. Guess AV palossand and tyranitar builds might be able to get Burns off now? That's a worrisome thought. I... can't really think of any potential effects for Poltergeist. The name's, uh, decidedly generic. Expanding Force'd better not be a slightly weaker version of the base game's Legendaries' Signature Moves that most pokemon can learn. That'd cheapen the impact of the doggos' moves (and Dynamax Cannon), methinks... |

Quick Draw would pair well with whatever gets the Shell side arm move.......
My guess on Quick Draw’s effect. +1 Priority on first move. Makes thematic sense, if it is something like that it has potential to be very powerful if the user has the power to abuse it. Also if it resets on switching..... Last edited by TheKnightsFury; 05-28-2020 at 06:53 AM. |

"For his Nuetral Special, Slowbro wields a GUN!"
...I'm still highly disappointed that Burning Jealousy appears to be a generic fire wave animation-wise. Partially because it vastly limits what can learn the move compared to what I had in mind, and partially because jealousy has a fairly strong color identity to it that seems to be completely thrown out the window. Burning Sand animation when??? I already had my concerns about Galarian Moltres back when I thought it would still be Fire, but now... it's just a knockoff Yveltal to me. Way to keep holding on to your bronze medal, I guess? Google Translate seems to think that the Regis are cash registers, so that's a neat oddity. Regidraco's official art makes it look kinda derpy, but that's kinda fitting considering the lore around it specifically. I'm sad that they shafted the Dark Ages, though, and that my long-time mnemonic for remembering the Fighting Type's SE spread is even more dead than I thought. ;_; Neither of Urshifu's Signature Moves do a whole lot to phase Type:Null, it seems. Fortunately for the bears, simply beating the chimera into a bloody mess was probably the safer option in the first place. From a world-building perspective, the thing that interests me most is that one oddball tree in the Crown Tundra. Who the heck managed to take this plant from Miitopia's Peculia region and brought to Galar, and how the heck is it doing so well despite having apparently been transplanted to an area that's severely unhospitable to plantlife? The internet seems to be taking the Galar Star Tournament like it's some sort of revolutionary new development, even though the premise was something that existed in Gen. 7 (and 4, to a far lesser degree). Guess people didn't care enough about Cynthia to want to fight with her, after all... I wouldn't trust any dish that has a trio a scarlet clouds orbiting around it, personally. It's not a very appetizing detail to add to your fish, methinks. |

G-Slowbro should have kept Regenerator. If you thought regular Slowbro with Teleport was obnoxious, Poison/Psychic is a million times worsse.

Oh wow so I just learned that the Galarian forms of the Kanto birds are all part Flying. What the heck?
The typings don't match with the names now (even in Japanese). Zapdos' design also doesn't make sense. It should be an Electric/Fighting or Electric/Ground, how the heck is it a Fighting/Flying? It's a roadrunner!
