Swoobat UPN PASBL: Handymankg2 vs Goose

Handymankg2 vs Goose
3 vs 3
Doubles
Slapstick
Equiall 1
Switch = KO
24 HR DQ
Pummelo: [Indoors/Outdoors] A simple arena, the Pummelo arena consists primarily of fairly easily manipulated soil, with a large circular pool situated at the center of the arena. The pool is deep enough to accomodate most Pokemon, but larger Pokemon will be unable to do more complex maneuvers. The pool is roughly as wide as it is deep. The ground of the remaining arena is rife with rocks and other such minerals, meaning attacks such as Stealth Rock work with impunity, and attacks such as Earthquake will transmit readily. The main aspect setting the Rock arena apart is the numerous boulders interspersed across the field. These will provide ample cover for most smaller Pokemon, and are open for manipulation. This includes being used to fuel attacks such as Rock Slide, as well as being able to be thrown by some stronger Pokemon. Within reason, if one of the batters mentions positioning of a rock, the battler is considered to be correct unless it contradicts a previous statement.

A few guidelines for both trainers to review:
-Glossary page and definitions of key terms. [Link Provided].
-Ghost Pokemon interact very differently in ASB. [Link Provided].
Example: Water Gun is a physical attack construct that is powered by the pokemon's special attack. That means that an ethereal ghost is hit for 50% of the damage.
-Move Errata on the main site is not fully updated, so make sure to check out the Move Errata here on UPN as well. [Link Provided].
-Movepools are readily available via veekun.
==Movepool errors are allowed in ASB. The official list is here on UPN. [Link Provided].
-And last but not least, we'll be using the new SC's here. [Link Provided]
-In doubles, the round ends when a KO is achieved, and turn order is not preserved when applicable.

-Handymankg2 will start us off with his squad of six pokemon.
-Goose will post his six pokemon, and send out his first pair.
-Handymankg2 will send out his first pair of pokemon and orders.
-Goose will send out his orders.
-I will referee the round.
-Goose orders.
-Handymankg2 orders.
-I will referee the round.

If any questions do arise, feel free to ask.

Allons-y!

Benny- lvl 1 male Shieldon
Hidden Power: Grass

Nyx- lvl 1 female Spiritomb
Hidden Power: Grass

Arthur- lvl 1 male Machop
Hidden Power: Bug

Noire- lvl 1 female Remoraid
Special Attack: Grim Noire (Dark)
Using significant dark energy, Noire creates a pitch black arrow of energy, which is then fired straight at the enemy. If this hits, Noire will experience a sudden shift in personality, causing her to go into her violent personality. This lasts for three rounds and, while she is in this shifted personality, cannot use any non-damaging moves or this move. This deals significant damage. She may use this twice per battle and will forget Hyper Beam and Giga Impact upon evolution.
Hidden Power: Dark

Roxie- lvl 1 female Flabébé
Notes: Dirty blonde flower and is a lesbian
Special Attack: Moon Burst (Fairy)
Roxie may now use a Fairy typed version of Metal Burst, ordered as Moon Burst. Her flower no longer provides constant Grass energy and she is no longer affected by Flower Shield. She also loses Hidden Power

Gaius- lvl 2 male Scyther (uplevel)
Hidden Power: Ground

Nyx by the pool, Noire in the pool

GLHF and welcome back Handy, and thanks for reffing Apost

Blitzle, by the pool, and Pidgeotto, in the air.

Blitzle, start off with a Shock Wave at Noire, whilst Pidgeotto launches a Round at Nyx.

Pidgeotto, follow with a Gust at Noire, while Blitzle aim a Charge Beam at Nyx.

Nyx, Sucker Punch Blitzle out of shock wave, then attempt to get Pidgeotto to sleep with a Hypnosis

Noire, after Nyx sucker punches Blizle, give her a Toxic, follow up with a Curse

Here goes the giant cluster of pain that is a doubles match. The arena is pretty neutral, allowing any pokemon to shine. So, I’m blind, and I cant see the rocks to well. You guys will be my eyes. Shaking hands to the side of the pool, the two trainers smile amicably as they look forward to a clean fight. Goose starts off the picks by sending out a pair of pokeballs that materialize from the bright white light into Nyx the Spiritomb and Noire the Remoraid. Handy does his handy work by sending out a Blitzle and a Pidgeotto.

Quote:
Spiritomb (Ghost/Dark): Spiritomb can never become completely solid and their body are always ethereal. Despite being locked out of the physical state, they take only 10% extra damage from special moves instead of the usual amounts. The keystone which they are bound to is always solid, and they can use this defensively to guard against special moves, taking standard damage when they strike their keystone. As a move, Spiritomb may retreat into their keystone for defense or to hide, taking only 50% damage from all attacks when hiding like this. When KO'd or asleep, Spiritomb will go into their Keystone automatically. Spiritomb are still able to pass through walls, but cannot extend their body more than 5 feet away from the Keystone and, due to the stone's pull, can only pass through walls for a limited amount of time. They can levitate. Despite being weighed down by the Keystone, they are actually very nimble and fast in the air, but will expend minor energy per round energy to maintain levitation. Spiritomb are resistant to Curses and cannot be poisoned.
Spoiler: show
[Ghost]: Ghost-type Pokémon fight more enthusiastically at night, though are not put off by fighting in the day, and can see in the dark. Ghosts are resistant to curses and curses imposed on them will last for a shorter time and be less potent. Their fear inducing attacks are more effective than those used by other Pokémon. Ghost types can be poisoned, unless stated otherwise. Ghost-types are not fully immune to Normal, Fighting or typeless attacks as in the games, taking neutral damage, but some may change their state in order to reduce damage from physical moves (see Ghost Pokémon information for details).
Immune to Poison: Banette, Litwick, Shedinja, Spiritomb, Rotom, Honedge, Yamask, Golurk, Drifloon
[Dark]: Dark-types can see in the dark. They fight more enthusiastically at night and are more effective at hiding in dark environments than other Pokémon, though light does not adversely affect them. Their Dark type attacks will also become much more intimidating during the night, giving them a small additional chance to flinch. They are immune to the damaging effects of Psychic-type energy but may still be lifted and manipulated by telekinesis. They are slightly better at tricking opponents than other Pokémon, allowing them to plant more potent curses and to use moves like Feint Attack to greater effect.

Remoraid (Water): Remoraid are fish Pokémon and almost helpless on land. They fight more enthusiastically when submerged and in a sizeable body of water. They are capable of latching on to allied Mantine and firing ranged moves in flight with perfect accuracy due to their symbiotic nature. They have excellent accuracy and their attacks have a greater chance of hitting. They can see in the dark.
Spoiler: show
[Water]: Water-type Pokémon are generally able to hold their breath and/or breathe underwater. The time varies, from several rounds in the case of birds, mammals and reptiles to indefinitely for fish and squid like Pokémon. They are generally good swimmers, with fish excelling the most, and are better at manipulating Water for moves like Surf and Whirlpool than other Pokémon, using less energy to do so even outside of water. Their Surf and Whirlpool attacks do not lose potency when used without a water source.

Pidgeotto (Normal/Flying): Pidgeotto have decent speed and agility in the air and will out fly most fliers that aren't fully evolved. Any wind attack used by a Pidgeotto is 1.1x more powerful.
Spoiler: show
[Normal]: Normal-type Pokémon are able to use support moves to greater effect than other Pokémon, with them being performed slightly quicker and being slightly more potent. Being beings of great balance, they benefit more from the positive effects of weather and other arena affecting moves, but will not suffer as badly from the negative effects. In the ASB, Normal-types take resisted damage from the damaging effects of Ghost-type energy.
[Flying]: Flying-type Pokémon are faster and more agile in their chosen mode of transportation than other Pokémon. Because of their skill in controlling their movement, they are more difficult to evade when using physical moves and more likely to succeed in dodging attacks. This also means that they are much harder to knock off course after gathering momentum. They are also more adept at commanding the wind, and they can use these attacks with slightly less energy than normal. Flying type Pokémon are affected normally by the damaging effects of Ground-typed energy and take neutral damage from Ground type moves in the ASB. They fight more enthusiastically in spacious arenas but are not put off by cramped conditions.

Blitzle (Electric): Blitzle are brimming with electrical energy, often releasing small amounts through their mane, causing it to flash brightly. Their mane can be illuminated for a longer period of time, allowing them to illuminate an area much like an Ampharos. Blitzle, though quite fast, are not nearly as fast as their evolution, but somewhat more agile. When using Agility, they leave a trail of sparks, which do light Electric damage to anything that walks over or stands on them. Any attack they execute with their hooves is 1.1x as powerful.
Spoiler: show
[Electric]: Electric types are resistant to paralysis inflicted by Electric-type moves, though they may be paralysed as normal by other methods. Electric types do not suffer from recoil damage when using Electric attacks in the water. They have a high degree of control over their Electric type attacks, and as such they will suffer less from attempts to redirect them.

On the other side, we have Pidgeotto flapping her wings violently, with a small innate boost to boot. The gusting tornado picks up fast, pushing Noire further into the water before hitting the wall of the Pummelo pool. She endures the damage like a champ I guess, since it was not that big of a deal. Before blitzle is given a chance to react, Nyx is already getting her attention by making funny faces. Perplexed by the ghost’s approach, the electric zebra is frozen in place before being sucker punched in the face by the Spiritomb. If that wasn’t shocking enough, the fish thinks long term by exposing the zebra to some toxic goops. The stream of poison energy seeps into the bloodstream of the electric typed pokemon. The effects will be felt long term if she doesn’t find a way to heal that up.

So we are off to an electrifying start as Blitzle sets her eyes on the ghost now. With almost unwavering aim, the single golden beam formed from her fur surely strike the cursed ghost. Energies where charged, giving the zebra a small boost whilst tickling the ghost who has yet to touch water. Double team up on the ghost, as the birb yells out a colorful round in her direction. It is not melodic at all, I can attest to that. Nyx is blasted by the sound, her ethereal state only working against her at this point. At this point, Nyx is not going to let these to fuss her for too long. Aiming into the sky, the ghost gathers a strange light that will hypnotize the birb into sleep. Maybe Pidgeotto is not that dumb to take that directly to the eyes. As the fuschia ray starts to take a hold, Pidgeotto flies out of the way which leaves her in a drowsy state given how fresh she is. This of course happens all while Remoraid idly swims inside the pool and curses her muscles to increase her attack and defense at the cost of some speed.

Nyx is right below Pidgeotto, who is flying about ten feet into the air. Blitze is off to the side of the pool as remoraid is somewhat visible from the surface.

Health: Pidgeotto > Blitzle and Noire are more or less tied > Nyx
Energy: Everyone is good for two, with Nyx having enough psychic for two more uses of hypnosis.

Apologies, thought I'd have more time in my life than I do, so not going to be able to continue this battle right now. I'll be back to ASB in about 5 weeks but since (I assume) you can't freeze battles, would just suggest cancelling it. Very sorry!
